Key Points
Our women’s movement's model is to seek out tasks that men cannot perform and that can be performed only by women, so that we can join men in complementarity in order to establish true families.
The solution to the destruction of families, which is becoming the most serious problem in our societies, is to teach Godism and head-wing thought, which approach the problem from the perspective of providential history.
Only God can solve this problem. Our job is to let people know about Godism and head-wing thought.
To approach the Tree of Life, you have to be in a public position with a heart of sacrifice to make up for the failures of our ancestors and historical public figures, and to inherit the Han of their blood, sweat, and tears and the authority of victory of True Parents.
Don’t think that your fallen-nature issues are only your own problems. They were your ancestors’ problems as well. That is why you should treat those issues as public problems.
The path to the Tree of Life is a three-step process in which we meet the True Parents, are reborn through the Blessing and the 40-day separation and the 3-day ceremony, and follow True Parents through the formula course to complete Heavenly Tribal Messiahship.
To move forward to the tree of life, we must give up everything we have.
Men and women each go alone in the journey of the foundations of faith and substance, but the final foundation of heart is a journey that couples go on together, majoring in love.
Your spouse is closer and more precious to you than your parents, siblings or anyone else.
Married couples should have a heart to respect and serve each other while they give and receive.
The course of the foundations of faith and substance is a process of training children's love (formation stage) and sibling’s love (growth stage between Cain and Abel), respectively. In the completion stage, they begin with couple’s love and realize parental love, eventually completing the four great loves.
Other religions teach individual salvation which allows entry only into paradise. The Kingdom of Heaven is only available to couples and families.
Religions of the Old Testament Age kept the law and offered sacrifices, and in the New Testament Age, religions focused on siblings having harmony. And the Completed Testament Age is for couples to become one and establish a true family.

Today is a beautiful Sunday, isn’t it?
Yesterday, we had two National SeongHwa Ceremonies for Antonio Betancourt and Rev. Kiyeal Lee. This is the SeongHwa Ceremony for Antonio Betancourt that was held at the Washington Times in Washington, DC.
Antonio has worked for Heavenly Parent and True Parents’ providence in North America, in South America, and worldwide. He has truly inspired me and many others, leaders and members, with his dedication and commitment to True Parents’ teaching and peace philosophy, opening the way for True Parents to meet many world leaders, especially at key providential turning points, such as the meetings with Chairman Kim Il Sung and President Michail Gorbachev.
Since I needed to deliver a SeongHwa Address for Rev. Lee’s SeongHwa Farewell Service in New Jersey, Dr. Jenkins delivered the SeongHwa address (for Antonio Betancourt’s SeongHwa) and Dr. Chang-Shik Yang, Chairman of Latin America of Cheon Eui Won, Dr. Andrew Wilson, Dr. Thomas Ward, and Caroline Bentacourt gave beautiful testimonies.
True Mother blessed Antonio with a beautiful calligraphy, “The patriot and hero who dedicated his life to realizing the heavenly nation of God.” I felt immense gratitude for True Parents, because I can sense the love and appreciation True Mother conveyed to her child, as she was sending him to the spirit world.
That was a very beautiful event.
This is the scene of Rev. Kiyeal Lee’s SeongHwa farewell service that was held at KEA in New Jersey yesterday. After SeongHwa Ceremony in Korea on September 22, this SeongHwa farewell service was held in the USA before the Won-Jeon ceremony.
After joining the church on December 1, 1979, Rev. Ki Yeal Lee received the 6,500 Couples Blessing from True Parents. He served as the CARP leader and CARP district leader in Korea. After missionary work in South America, he came to the United States and served as the district leader and the president of the Korean Church in New Jersey. He is a precious filial son of Heaven who lived his life only for the sake of God’s Will as a pastor and missionary.
True Mother gave Rev. Ki Yeal Lee the title of “Awarded to this couple as an inducted CheonBo Blessed Couple who has fulfilled the mission of citizens of Cheon Il Guk” and he went to heaven as a CheonBo family. You have been given a great blessing to be able to cooperate so that all the blessed families on earth as well as all humankind can be blessed and be registered as CheonBo families, the last stage.
Dr. Chang Shik Yang sent a Eulogy Poem video. Dr. Kihoon Kim, Chairman of Cheon Eui Won, Rev. Sang Seuk Kim, Regional President of Central America, Dr. Moonshik Kim, Regional President of Canada, Thomas McDevitt, Chariman of Washington Times, Dr. Jenkins, President of UPF International (offered testimonies), and President Naokimi gave the Eulogy. Then, I gave the SeongHwa address.
After the SeongHwa Farewell Service, a Won-Jeon Ceremony was held at Rockland Cemetery in New York.
It was a very beautiful SeongHwa and Wonjon ceremony.
Today I’d like to talk about “World Peace and the Role of Women 3” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at the founding rally of the Women's Federation for World Peace in Japan and at rallies between September 24 and October 6, 1992 for Koreans residing in Japan> The women's movement that I have been directing has a character that is fundamentally different from the women's rights movements that challenge male authority and assert our rights exclusively. The women's rights movements that have developed in western societies until now reflect the antagonism and animosity that have been an integral part of western civilization's culture of struggle. Ours, by contrast, is a movement based on the East Asian principles of harmony that stress mutual accord and complementarity. Our movement's ideal is to seek out tasks that men cannot perform, that is, tasks that can be performed only by women, so that we can join men in complementarity in order to establish true families.
The destruction of families is becoming the most serious problem in our societies, and yet no one is able to propose an effective solution. The very foundation of human existence is being shaken. Thus, in the United States, family values and issues of social morality are becoming major issues in the ongoing presidential election campaign. Such issues are not the concern of America and Western Europe alone, however. They represent a serious crisis for all humankind. Japan and Korea are also affected by such problems. We are at a stage in which we must seriously concern ourselves with the moral crisis that supersedes our economic development. The only way to resolve this crisis is to teach Godism and head-wing thought, which approach the problem from the perspective of providential history.
The women's rights movements that have developed in western societies until now reflect the antagonism and animosity that have been an integral part of western civilization's culture of struggle. I can see it in Korea, Japan, especially Thailand and the Philippines. This is really a global issue. The destruction of the family and family values (is serious. The family) is declining.
The purpose of the FFWPU is to solve this issue. (If) the FFWPU does not (provide) a model and does not suggest the solution, where can we find the answer?
The only way to resolve this crisis is to teach Godism – God is the solution; it cannot come from any fallen man’s idea – and head-wing thought, which approach the problem from the perspective of providential history.
Humanism, human ideas and philosophies have not solved the problem during more than 6,000 years of human history. (They have just created) more confusion (and have offered) no solution.
That’s why the solution needs to come from God. Who can bring this kind of principle of Godism (to us)? Only the messiah, only True Parents. True Parents have already declared the Divine Principle very clearly. Our job is to let (people) know (about) Godism and head-wing thought. This is the only solution.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Fall - 2. The Tree of Life (1)
• According to the Bible, the hope of fallen people is to attain the tree of life. In Prov. 13:12, the Israelites of the Old Testament Age looked to the tree of life as their hope. Likewise, in Rev. 22:14, the hope of all Christians has been to approach and partake of the tree of life.
• However, in Gen. 3:24, it is written that when Adam fell, God blocked his path to the tree of life by stationing the cherubim with a flaming sword to guard it. From this, we can also deduce that the hope of Adam before the fall was the tree of life.
• Adam was cast out of the Garden of Eden without having attained his hope, the tree of life. For fallen people ever since, the tree of life has remained a hope unfulfilled.
Let’s study Father’s word.
Those who Are Qualified to Partake in the Tree of Life
<11-271> Today, I myself do not exist as an individual but as a being wearing “clothes of connections.” In these clothes, there are resolved sighs, tears, and hearts burning of all historical figures like Adam, Abel, Noah and Abraham and stained with the disbelief of humankind. That’s why we must take these clothes off but when doing it, it must be done simultaneously so that you can become qualified to move forward to the tree of life. You should be able to negotiate with God saying that “God, please put me up to inherit and endure the central figures’ heart of sweat, tears, hearts burning and blood.” As I, Rev. Moon, know this well, I am trying to put you up to the public position. But you want to be cheap articles? You should not become the ones sold by a bowl of rice, taking a step backward before a stick and easily giving in to your enemies.
In order to become a qualified person to move forward to the tree of life, you must first become a person who can take off the clothes of the historical relationship between the ancestors and the central figures, which are stained with the sin of the disbelief of humankind.
You need the spirit of sacrifice that can accomplish God's will in place of the sweat, tears, Han, blood, and heart of historical figures, and must be able to repent on behalf of all the things they did wrong.
Whenever we fight our fallen nature, it matters how we get out of it. The important thing is to repent. But when you repent, don't just set aside the sins I have committed and my personal fallen nature.
Whenever we struggle with my fallen nature, knowing that our ancestors and providential central figures have struggled with the same problem, we must repent in tears, saying that we will overcome this problem in any case.
This is a really important secret I learned from Father.
When I was young, I was sometimes struggling to overcome Chapter Two issues and wrong thinking; I am honest with you.
We are struggling with our own fallen nature, sometimes jealousy, sometimes Chapter Two and all kinds of thinking.
Father said don’t deal with fallen nature issues as only your own (problems). You need to pray with true repentance, “Oh, Heavenly Father, my goodness! This problem is not only (about) me. Maybe even my father or grandfather had the same problems; my ancestors, central figures, Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Moses, even St. Paul struggled with the same issues. Heavenly Father, I am the one who has inherited these problems. If I can overcome this problem, all my ancestors can be liberated as well. This sin is not only my own sin, my own fallen nature, Heavenly Father. I really want to help my ancestors overcome by solving this problem.” This is really great wisdom.
So when I prayed about this when I was young, I could overcome even Chapter Two issues, my jealousy issues, my hot-temper issues, many things.
That’s why when you struggle with your own fallen-nature issues, don’t think this is only your own problem. This was your ancestors’ problem as well. That is why (you should) treat it as a public problem. You are not just dealing with private problems; this is your ancestors’ problem as well. Cry together with your ancestors. You need to comfort you ancestors, those who are struggling with the same problems, same issues.
Then you can surely have power. When you overcome them, your ancestors are (also) freed from those problems. If you cannot overcome the problems, you will pass them on to your descendants again and again.
We must be determined to inherit the Han of the blood, sweat, and tears of central historical figures in the past, and to inherit the authority of victory of True Parents, who have been in a better position than them and have been victorious so far.
To do that, above all else, you have to be in a public position. And we must win the fierce battle against Satan. You must not easily give in to the enemy.
The Way to Partake in the Tree of Life (1)
<72-142> The way to the tree of life was blocked after Adam and Eve fell in the Garden of Eden. After Adam and Eve fell, God chased them out and blocked their path to the tree of life by stationing the cherubim with a flaming sword to guard it. The tree of life symbolizes a perfected Adam, that is, a perfect father. But due to the fall, the way to the tree of life has been blocked, so when can it be opened? It will be after meeting True Parents. That’s why the Christians has searched for the body of Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit. In other words, Christianity has been remaining as a seed of a baby inside a bone of an unwed man. The human being has entered as a spiritual seed.
<72-142> So when there is the Second Coming of the substantial Jesus, a seed who becomes the seed of substance must be born again through a new mother, father and a new bride and bridegroom. Only through this, a victorious son and daughter who gained both the physical and spiritual victory after having paid all the indemnities from the original blood lineage of Satan can appear. Therefore it’s theoretical that God must prolong the providence of restoration until the Second Coming of Jesus. Do you understand? –Yes. We should be able to abandon our country or whatsoever and come forward from now on to meet the Second Coming of Jesus for he has such a value in him. The time has finally come for you to be able to abandon your country, next your tribe, your own parents, your wife and everything in order to come forward.
What is my path to the tree of life? When will the way to the tree of life be opened? True Parents said that you have to go through a three-step process.
First, they said that we must meet the True Parents who come as the bridegroom and bride with God's lineage. They said that I, having false blood, cannot become a real person without meeting the parents.
Second, you must go through the process of being born again after receiving the Blessing from True Parents. This process is the process of receiving the Blessing and having a 40-day separation period and 3-day ceremony.
Third, we must go through the course of indemnity and the path of victory together with True Parents. In other words, we have to follow True Parents through the formula course, win in the family and in the tribe to the point of completing Heavenly Tribal Messiahship.
True Parents emphasized that in order to move forward to the tree of life, we must be able to give up everything we have and throw it all away.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: The Path of a Couple is the Path to Majoring in Love
Recently I have continuously talked about the relationship between husband and wife, how to improve (it). (This is) not just for old blessed families; our second generation and third generation need to learn and know how to establish ideal families, what kind of path you need to go through. This is important, practical (guidance).
1. Those of you who have gone through the two love paths of the foundations of faith and substance get blessed and become a married couple, and then you both enter the course to major in real love. What you should not forget is that a married couple is two people who major in love. If you hear this, all of you who have gone through the process of restoration through indemnity will agree saying, “Oh, that's right!” The fact that you left your beloved parents and met your spouse means that your spouse is more valuable than your parents. Therefore, it is concluded that a person who was filial to his parents before meeting his spouse should love his partner more than he did his parents. If a woman is very friendly with her brothers in her own home, then after meeting her husband she should be more friendly with him than with her brothers. From that point of view, your spouse is the closest and most precious. Who is your spouse? They are closer to you than anyone else, and they are more precious to you than your parents. When you think of it that way, you build respect for your spouse.
Those of you who have gone through the two-love paths of the foundations of faith and substance get blessed and become a married couple, and both (of you) enter the course to major in real love.
Men and women each go alone in the journey of the foundations of faith and substance, but the final foundation of heart, the journey of love, is a journey that couples go (on) together. Therefore, this love course is a course in which a couple majors in love for each other.
What is the place and position of a couple on the journey of love? From God's point of view, the fact that you left your beloved parents and met your spouse means that your spouse is more valuable than your parents.
From your parents’ point of view, the conclusion is that I should love my spouse more than I did my parents. Your spouse is closer to you than anyone else, and they are more precious to you than your parents. First, you must clearly know the value of your spouse in principle.
What is the Core of the Unification Principle?
2. In our principle, we learned about circular motion and spherical motion. This means to give and receive well. It means to give and receive love well, both on a flat surface and in three dimensions. It means that a couple should give and receive well, like twins. Married couples should have a heart to respect and serve each other while they give and receive. This is the place of happiness. The course of blessed families of the Unification Church is a course to major in true love. Before starting the family, we majored in a part of it. At first, I was filial to my parents, and when I went to school, I had a good relationship with my teacher, and then I tried to improve my relationship with my friends. These are all love and process studies to major in love. All of this can be seen as a process of practice to major in real couple’s love. From this perspective, our principle teaches us what love’s core is.
The course of blessed families of the Unification Church is a course to major in true love. Therefore, married couples should have a heart to respect and serve each other while they give and receive.
Before starting the family, we majored in a part of it. The course of foundation of faith and foundation of substance was both love and process study to major in real couple’s love.
That is why the Foundation of Faith and Foundation of Substance are really an important course. These are the basic things. Then finally you can have a real major which is couples’ love.
The Final Purpose of the Coming of the Second Advent
3. Our principle emphasizes the restoration of the four loves of parental love, conjugal love, sibling’s love, and children's love within the four position foundation. What we can know through this is that God is trying to restore love in the four position foundation. All religions are trying to achieve this in the end. It is to have HyoJeong to serve God and to harmonize with your siblings and between husband and wife. Our church has come this far. Neither Christianity nor Buddhism has reached this stage of marital love. However, everything in the Unification Church starts with the family. The Second Coming of Jesus is the one who comes to this earth and makes the bride-to-be meet the groom and realize a family. Therefore, the Unification Church is a family-centered church. From this point of view, our family must become a family where God can reside.
Our principle emphasizes very much the restoration of the four loves of parental love, conjugal love, sibling’s love, and children's love within the four position foundation. The course of the foundation of faith and foundation of substance is a process of training children's love (formation stage) and sibling’s love (growth stage between Cain and Abel), respectively.
However, when they go beyond the top of the growth stage and reach the completion stage, they begin with couple’s love and realize parental love, eventually completing the four great loves.
In the course of this completion stage, let’s have harmony between husband and wife based on the experience of harmonizing with siblings with a HyoJeong of serving God in the foundation of faith and the foundation of substance.
The level of our church has come this far. However, neither Christianity nor Buddhism has reached this stage of marital love. All existing religions have come to stay at the level of individual salvation only. However, everything in the Unification Church starts with the family.
This is really incredible! God’s Kingdom of Heaven is based on the family system. If you believe in any other religion, you cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven because they do not know the structure of the Kingdom of Heaven. Individual salvation is only to a maximum level of the top of the growth stage. You can only enter Paradise at a maximum. Without couplism, without family salvation you cannot enter God’s Kingdom of Heaven.
If you believe in any (other) religion, it is only centered on individual salvation. In order to enter the perfection stage, only couples are allowed.
So if you have already started (your) family based on the Blessing, that means you have already surpassed the top of the growth stage. You are already entering the completion stage. Then you have children, become parents, complete the Four Great Realms of Heart and the Three Great Kingships and finally enter God’s Kingdom of Heaven based on the Four Position Foundation, based on the family structure, based on couplism. Wow! This is an incredible discovery!
The Second Coming of Jesus is the one who comes to this earth and guides the bride-to-be to meet the groom and establish a family so that they can complete the four great loves.
The Ultimate Purpose of All Religions, Centered on the Family
4. Then, what were the goals of churches before the Unification Church? They were churches and religions that appeared with the goal of perfecting individuality. Buddhism, Christianity, and all religions are that way. The ultimate goal of existing religions to become true sons and daughters for God. However, the Unification Church seeks to establish a true family of God by a God-centered true couple. Religions of the Old Testament Age kept the law and offered sacrifices. And in the New Testament Age, religions focused on siblings having harmony. And the Completed Testament Age is for couples to become one and establish a true family. This is how the providence of restoration flowed until now. The present age is the age of the victory of love. This is the era of completion when True Parents have opened the gates of Heaven and built a highway between heaven and hell. Have you ever heard of the phrase “Highway of Light”? This era is the era of liberation by creating a highway of love between heaven and hell by mobilizing the entire spirit world to become one with the people on earth through true families.
Then, what were the goals of churches before the Unification Church? They were churches and religions that appeared with the goal of perfecting individuality. Buddhism, Christianity, and all religions are that way.
However, the Unification Church seeks to establish a true family of God by a God-centered true couple. Religions of the Old Testament Age kept the law and offered sacrifices.
And in the New Testament Age, religions focused on siblings having harmony. And the Completed Testament Age is for couples to become one and establish a true family.
This is how the providence of restoration flowed until now. The present age is the age of victory of love. The present age is an age in which couples become one and win through love.
Amazing! Who can teach such a doctrine and principle centering on couplism and family? That is why the role of Family Federation is really important. We need to guide (people) about the importance of the couple as husband and wife, the importance of family values. In the secular world we cannot find family values any more. That is why our job, our portion of responsibility , is so precious and very important.
