Key Points
The problems of this society cannot be cured with only partial or superficial prescriptions. The fundamental solution to all problems is to return to God.
The emergence of the true owner, True Parents, and of Godism, can solve all problems.
The two most important things in solving all problems are the restoration of our relationship with God and practicing living for others based on God’s principle.
Therefore, we must know for sure who God is and what God's blueprint for man is.
The fundamental problem is the problem of Chapter One, not Chapter Two. Anyone with a Chapter One problem can create a Chapter Two problem.
How can we let all humankind know God’s wishes and situation?
Our life goal should be to become a true Tree of Life, that is, a true person.
To become a form spirit, we need to hear God’s word, receive dominion from an Abel figure and faithfully practice a life of worship, rituals, systems, and tithing with absolute faith, love and obedience.
As a life spirit we need to find a Cain figure to love and be respected by. We need to live for the sake of others and be dedicated to fulfilling God’s will.
As a divine spirit, we need to know God’s circumstances, Will, sorrow and desires, realize the foundation of God’s heart and become the substance of HyoJeong.
Life is always moving, active and multiplying. Generated by love, sacrifice and hard work, it is always fresh and never tired. It transcends habits and always accompanies love and lineage.
God’s created human beings in order to have a body. When we achieve individual perfection, we become God in a body. Then we can say, “He who has seen me has seen the Father.”
Then we belong to God, and what belongs to him is ours.
As the owners of true love, we have to perfect ourselves on our own through our portion of responsibility. We need to always have a sense of “If I were the owner of...” ownership.
As owners of CIG, we need to take responsibility over and resolve the problems in our family and go beyond to our society, nation, and the world.

Today I’d like to talk about “World Peace and the Role of Women 2” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at the founding rally of the Women's Federation for World Peace in Japan and at rallies between September 24 and October 6, 1992 for Koreans residing in Japan> Already, in 1988, my husband and I had built a bridge of eternal peace between Korea and Japan by joining in the Blessing of marriage more than 6,000 Korean-Japanese couples. As husbands and wives centered on God's true love, they formed families that, by virtue of their connection by lineage, have a greater love than anyone for the peoples, traditions and cultures of both countries. Peace in northeast Asia, at least, is now guaranteed forever through these Korean-Japanese couples. Traditionally, the task of protecting and nurturing the family has been the special right and mission given to women. In our society today, however, there are innumerable fundamental problems that threaten to undermine our families. Certainly the problems faced by the world today cannot be resolved by developing military might or economic power. In contemporary society the amplification of problems of an internal nature, such as the collapse of traditional values and the breakdown of social order, is undermining our external growth and development.
Even now, tens of millions of people on this earth are dying of starvation. Underlying the challenges of adequate production and distribution of food is the more fundamental problem of the dearth of the love by which we would see these suffering people as our own sons and daughters, our own brothers and sisters, our own mothers and fathers. Societies today are increasingly afflicted with crime and drug abuse. It is said that humanity has escaped the threat of nuclear war. Yet, our future appears more shrouded by the clouds of despair than lit up by the sunshine of hope. Such crises faced by the world today reflect deeper, more fundamental problems, which will not be resolved by fragmentary or superficial means. Any effort to pursue the solutions to such problems solely through human means, while excluding God who has been working His providence in the background of human history, is certain to end in failure.
The collapse of today's traditional values, the chaos in the social order, the problem of food – tens of millions of people are dying of starvation – and the problems of this society becoming sick with crime and withering away from drugs cannot be cured with only partial or superficial prescriptions. These are fundamental things.
All these problems have arisen mainly due to human beings excluding God who has been working His providence in the background of human history. Therefore, the fundamental solution to all problems of the world happening today is to return to God.
Until now, human-centered ideologies, principles, and countermeasures have all showed limitations and are gradually going on the path of decline. The solution to all these problems must come not from the human mind but from God.
Without who is one with God, there is no way to solve all problems. From this perspective, we need to realize how important the emergence of True Parents and Godism, which can solve all problems, is.
The most important thing in solving all problems is restoration of relationship with God.
How can I recover my relationship with God? This is the issue.
The second is to practice a life of living for the sake of true love.
Vertically you need to recover the relationship with God, and horizontally you need to practice how to live for others based on God’s principle.
Therefore, we must know for sure what God is and what God's blueprint for man is.
This is the real issue. The most important thing is what? How to recover my relationship with God. How I can know God’s heart. How I can know God’s blueprint. How I can know his wishes. Without knowing (these things), I (won’t) know how to practice living for the sake of others as well.
Outside people only deal with external problems, right? (They) don’t deal with the fundamental problems. The fundamental problem is the problem of Chapter One. We need to know God’s identity and his situation. Without knowing God and his wish and will, there is no way to solve the problems. We need to know that. In order to solve the Chapter Two problem, what is the fundamental issue? We need to know the Chapter One problem. The main issue is the Chapter One problem: we do not know God; we don’t know we came from God; we do not know his blueprint.
Anyone with a Chapter One problem can create a Chapter Two problem. The main issue is Chapter One , not Chapter Two .
How can I recover my relationship with God? How can I truly understand God’s han, God’s sorrowful heart, God’s blueprint? How can we let outside people, all humankind, know God’s wishes and situation? That is our challenging issue.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Fall - 2. The Tree of Life (1)
• What was the hope of Adam during the time he was immature and growing toward perfection?
• He must have hoped to become a man who would realize God's ideal of creation by growing to perfection without falling.
• Therefore, the tree of life symbolizes an ideal man, who has fully realized the ideal of creation.
• The tree of life thus symbolizes perfected Adam
How can I become a tree of life, perfected Adam?
The Tree of Life Is a Perfected Adam
Our desire should be aiming (to become) a “true man,” whether we are asleep or awake.
Always we need to think (about this). (Whatever our) job, our common, eternal goal is to become a Tree of Life, a true man or a true woman.
Therefore, we must become a person in the completion stage, that is, a person of a divine spirit. All leaders should become the ones of a divine spirit that is superior to the top of the growth stage.
The Divine Principle says that the Tree of Life symbolizes the perfected Adam. That is right. Our desire should be aiming at becoming a true Tree of Life, whether we are asleep or awake, whatever we do, whatever job (we have). That is all external. Our eternal mission, eternal job, no matter what we are doing is how to become a tree of life, a true man or woman.
In other words, our life goal should be aimed at becoming a true Tree of Life, that is, a “true person.”
Think about how joyful God would be if we become trees of life, which Adam failed to realize, and become true people who reach the level of the divine spirit.
Our personal goal is to reach (the level of) divine spirit. That is like the spirit of God.
The way to relieve the han of fallen Adam, relieve the han of God, and relieve the han of our ancestors is for us to become trees of life, or true man or true woman, and become divine spirits.
Where are you Now?
Human beings committed the fall and fell into the non-principle realm. The non-principled realm is a world below the formation stage caused by the Fall. If we hear God’s Word in this non-principled realm, we enter the principled realm and our spiritual self is formed into a form spirit.
That’s why those who have not heard the Divine Principle are still in the non-principled realm.
This form spirit level refers to the formation stage. This is the period to build the foundation of faith in this formation stage. In order for our spirit self to become a form spirit, we need to receive dominion from an Abel figure to love. In this period, we need to faithfully practice a life of worship, rituals, systems, and tithing. And we have to have absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience towards the Word.
The next level is becoming a life spirit. As the growth stage, this level is the period of building the foundation of substance. In order for our spirit self to grow to the level of the life spirit, we need to have a Cain figure to love. And we have to be respected by that Cain.
I need to have spiritual children who respect me. The form spirit of the formation stage is busy with its own responsibilities, but the spirit self as a life spirit spends a lot of time living for the sake of others rather than oneself. It also tries to dedicate themselves for the sake of the will.
The final level is the level of realizing the divine spirit. This level is the level of knowing God’s circumstances, Will, and desires and realizing the foundation of God’s heart. In this level, you must know the world of God’s heart more than anyone else.
This completion stage is where we know God’s sorrow and desires and strive to relieve and fulfill them. In this level, we have to become the substance of HyoJeong (filial piety) before God and True Parents. In this level, we must always shed tears for the sake of God and True Parents’ liberation.
Which level are you (at)? Formation stage? Life spirit? Divine Spirit? Our final goal is how to become a divine spirit, perfected Adam and perfected Eve. In order to reach the (level of) divine spirit, the important thing is hyojeong, filial heart. Then we know God’s wish, God’s sorrow, God’s heart, will and blueprint and completely try to liberate God’s heart. Wow! We have a long way to go!
• Because Adam fell and did not attain the tree of life (Gen. 3:24), a man who has completed the ideal of creation must come to the earth as a tree of life. All of humanity must then be engrafted with him and become one with him to attain the tree of life
• The tree of life in Prov. 13:12 for which the faithful people of the Old Testament Age longed was none other than Jesus. Nonetheless, Christians have been engrafted with Jesus only spiritually. They have not been rid of the original sin.
The Tree of Life is not only symbolic. The Bible is very clear. Of course, it has a symbolic meaning, but we understand the true meaning of the Tree of Life and how important it is.
The Attributes of Life
1. Life is always moving, active and alive.
> If life stops, then it will die.
> Life only gives birth to life.
Are you alive? Or are you dead? If you are alive, you are always moving forward, always very active. Any plant, any living being that just stops on the way will surely die. Why can’t I give birth to new life? Because spiritually I am dead.
2. Life definitely multiplies
As long as your spirit is alive, it will multiply definitely. Why can’t you multiply? Because your spirit is not yet alive.
> Life requires the subject and object
> Life is created by give and take action
... all the time. When you have good give-and-take, your spirit is always alive. Then definitely you can bring results and multiplication.
3. Life comes out through love
> In order to create life, you need to love
You need to invest a lot.
4. Life will carry on through the lineage from generation to generations
5. Life is created through pain (sacrifice and hard work)
Without hard work, you cannot create new life. That is why life requires sacrifice and hard work. Without (it) you cannot create anything. Life always needs to pay the price; otherwise it cannot produce new life.
6. Life is always fresh.
You can see living beings – animals, plants, nature.
> Life is never get tired
> Life transcends habits
7. Life always accompanies love and lineage
If your spirit is alive, it always produces love. Automatically you can create lineage.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Have the Spirit of Ownership of “If I were…”
A Person Who Achieves Individual Perfection is God in the Body
1. When a person achieves individual perfection, they become God in the body. Fulfilling our portion of responsibility means self dominion, so doesn’t self dominion also mean we try to become God? Human beings try to become original human beings, and in other words, aren’t original human beings God? If human beings remove their fallen nature, they become original human beings. If people genuinely have true resurrection, they become original human beings. If human beings are resurrected, they become Jesus. If I am resurrected, I would have no difference from Jesus. Jesus is me, and I am Jesus. Also, God is me, and I am God. I am the Father, and the Father is the son. As Jesus said, “He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show me the Father?’” Doesn’t this mean that Jesus is God? Of course, “God” referred to here does not mean God Himself but the position of having become one with God. In a family, if the child is filial to and becomes one with his parents, aren’t the parents the son and the son his parents?
According to True Father’s words, the invisible God’s purpose of creating human beings was that He wished to have a body through human beings. In that respect, when human beings achieve individual perfection, they become God in a body. That is why the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:16 “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”
Fulfilling our portion of responsibility means self dominion, and self dominion means we try to become like God. However, the greatest stumbling block in fallen human beings trying to become perfected is their fallen nature. Therefore, if everyone just removes their fallen nature, they become resurrected people, and resurrected people become no different from Jesus, and people who are no different from Jesus become God’s second self.
That is why Father said that we need to become a second Moon. Father said, “I want to become Jesus.” What was Jesus’ goal? To become a second God. Our goal is very clear: to become a second Jesus, a second Moon, a second God.
If we become one with God and become one with Jesus, would there be a need to find God and Jesus? That is why, as Jesus said, we must become people who can say “He who has seen me has seen the Father.” In this way, this age we are living in now is no longer an age where we emphasize believing. Now is the age of showing that we are really living together with God.
If you see me, you see God.
In other words, it is a time when we show that God is living together within me. This is an amazing era!
I Belong to the Father, and the Father’s Things Belong to Me
2. In Luke 15, there is the parable of the prodigal son. When the prodigal son returned home, his brother complained to their father who welcomed the son and threw a banquet for him. Then, the father said something to the eldest son, the prodigal son’s brother. He asked why he is so upset over him fattening a calf and throwing a banquet for his brother who was dead but alive again and found. And then he asked, “Can’t you use the property you have as your father’s right? As the eldest son, your property is your father’s property. My property is your property as well.” Therefore, from this perspective of love, we can understand how Father set goals of gaining mastery over himself and become God’s and becoming the second Jesus.
That is why when we dominate ourselves, we become a second Jesus, a second Rev. Moon and then become a second God. This is our goal. That’s why Father’s goal is to have love greater than (that of) Jesus, wisdom greater than (that of) Solomon, faith more than Peter, James and Paul.
True Father is the only True Father; we cannot become True Father, nor True Mother. ... Even God’s desire is that human beings should be better than God; parents heart and desire is that their children be better than themselves. The attribute of true love is really great. Even though God is omnipotent and omniscient, his children should be better than he is. Not just second God or second Rev. Moon, better than God, Jesus and True Parents. What an attribute of true love!
When you raise your children, you desire that your children be better than you. For God it is the same. Even though he is almighty and omniscient, because of this issue – Father said he prayed about this for five years – “Almighty and omniscient God, is it sure that human beings should be better than you? True Father challenged God (in this way), and he received the answer, “Yes, of course. Otherwise how can human beings have that kind of heart?” ... Our Divine Principle describes this so well. I admire it so much!
That is why we need to respect God, our True Father and True Mother, our parents. They have the desire that we should be better than they are.
We have that kind of unity: “I belong to the Father and the Father’s things belong to me.” That kind of world is the Kingdom of Heaven .
Have the Spirit of Ownership of “If I were…”
3. Since True Father was young, he often had ownership, saying “If I were so and so…” “If I were the pastor of this church…”, “If I were the principal of this school…”, “If I were the president of this nation…” In this way, he had a lot of attachment to the position of the owner. When he passed by some school in the countryside and saw the messy fence, he would think, “If I were the principal of this school, I wouldn’t have it this way.” If he saw just one broken window in a church, he would say, “If I were the pastor, I wouldn’t have it this way.” Father said that such thoughts kept coming to his mind. Such spirit and heart of the owner were even connected to thinking, “If I were Jesus...” “If Jesus had really saved all mankind by dying on the cross, how could the world be the way it is today? If I were Jesus, I wouldn’t be able to look at such misery and hear that I was the savior. From a young age, Father started reading the Bible with this kind of heart.
The era of Cheon Il Guk is not about believing in someone. It is also not the age of receiving salvation because of some person. Just as it says in the Family Pledge, the age of Cheon Il Guk is when each person becomes the owners of true love.
Since True Parents have showed us everything and told us everything, now is the age when we have to perfect ourselves on our own through our portion of responsibility.
One of Father’s life principles is always living for the sake of God with the sense of ownership. He always lived with the sense of ownership, saying “If I were the pastor of this church…”, “If I were the principal of this school…”, “If I were the owner of this business…” “If I were the president of this nation…”, “If I were Jesus…”
This (sense) of ownership centered on heart is why he discovered the Divine Principle and God’s sorrowful heart.
Why True Father Stopped Reading the Bible
4. After reading the Bible a few times, True Father stopped reading it. After reading the Bible and seeing the words of Jesus, there were so many things that were frustrating, and there was nothing written about what he really had to say… He was so frustrated that after reading Luke 12:49 “I came to cast fire upon the earth, and how I wish it were kindled already!” he stopped reading the Bible. He came to realize that Jesus was someone who died without being able to say what he really had to say. He wondered how he could find the essence of what Jesus said in his words, even though he only said words of frustration and injustice. This is where Father got a hint. Looking at this, we can tell that Father was an active and enthusiastic person. True Father had a “this or that” and “yes or no” type of character. Father was truly amazing because not only did he read the Bible and know about Jesus’ plight, but he also knew that Jesus died without being able to say everything he really wanted to say.
Since True Father lived with the sense of ownership, he represented Jesus, central figures of the providence of restoration, and God. That is why he came to know about all the problems of the Bible, all problems of life, all problems of history, all problems of the spirit world and even God’s secrets.
This kind of spirit of ownership of True Father is what helped him find the solutions to the fundamental problems of life or fundamental problems of the universe. Therefore, we, too, have to follow True Father’s model and become owners of Cheon Il Guk who have the spirit of ownership to take responsibility over and resolve the problems in my family and go beyond to my society, nation, and the world.
Let’s inherit Father’s sense of ownership, his ownership spirit.
