Key Points
When we are away from our family and close friends and neighbors, we miss them because of love.
True Parents have paid all the indemnity for restoration and are pulling us out of the lonely swamp of hell, making it possible for us to return to our hometowns to meet with our true family.
Faith means to have a heartistic relationship with God.
God or anyone with whom we do not have a heartistic relationship is a stronger to us.
Where there is love, there is a longing heart; where there is a longing heart, there is love.
Now is a time of heavenly fortune when we can recover our original family, attend True Parents and substantially establish Cheon Il Guk.
The world is moving toward one family under one God in religion, politics, science and all aspects of life.
From now on, science must become one centering on unified science, politics must become one through the Abel UN, and religious denominations must become one through inter-religious unification movements centering on Family Federation.
True Father took every action – whether sleeping, eating, walking, using the toilet or dressing – as a conscious Principled condition to fulfill God’s will before satisfying his physical needs.
In every moment we need to live sincerely and heartistically centered on the spirit with the heart of doing everything—eating, sleeping, coming and going—for the sake of God’s will and eternal life.
We need to do everything voluntarily and with pure joy because our heart is moved.
Fundraising is really challenging, but we can learn so many things and grow spiritually from it. Even though it brings out our fallen nature, it is one of the best ways to meet God.

Our Morning Devotion is a beautiful community. I am so grateful to each one of you.
Yesterday, I had breakfast with one family. He is Yuji Imamura and his children, Atsuki and Sayaka. Yuji and Lynn, his wife, have raised their children very faithfully. I thank God so much! Sayak just graduated from Sun Moon University and came back and will go to Taiwan to study Chinese. And also Atsuki is so faithful and obedient and has such a filial heart. That is why I really appreciate Yuji and his wife, Lynn, (and) how they raised their children so beautifully!
Let’s study Mother’s word.
God's Ideal Family and the Kingdom of the Peaceful Ideal World I
from True Mother’s Anthology, Volume 2.
<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between April 28 and August 19, 2006 during a 180-nation Universal Peace Federation Speaking Tour to Return to the Original Fatherland and Hometown. 89-90>
Ladies and gentlemen, the reason we miss the family we have left behind is because at home there is love for one another. It is where the love of mother and father, the love of elder brothers and sisters and younger siblings, and the love of one's spouse and children and close neighbors are all deeply embedded. It is a place of mutual affection, where relationships and affinities are brought together through mutual love. This makes you cherish each and every member of your family. It is the yearning and desire of any wanderer who has left his family behind to return to his family once again boldly, as a liberated being, and to embrace mountains, streams and trees, love his relatives and countrymen, and sing songs of ecstasy.
However, the situation of humankind, descended from the Fall, has been different: banished from their original heavenly hometown and destined to wander around in isolation and defeat, human beings are unable ever to go back, no matter how much they miss their family, for they have lost the root of the heart of their original homeland. However, with the ushering in of the era of a new heaven and a new earth, human beings have been pulled out of the swamp that was sucking them down, and the way has been opened for them to return to their hometowns—hometowns that they could not forget even for a moment—and meet with their true family. Could there ever be a day of greater blessing for humanity? The time of heavenly power and fortune has now come, making it possible for us to reestablish the original family that was lost through the Fall of Adam and Eve.
The reason we miss people and miss the family we have left behind is because at home there is love for one another. Why do we (miss? our) mother and father, elder brothers and sisters, and younger siblings, spouse and children, and close neighbors? It is because there is love for one another.
In the original world, since everyone lives for the sake of one other, if they separate for even a moment, they are filled with longing. In this way, when all relationships and bonds are formed with love for one another, we will have a heart of longing that wants to embrace all.
Since the relationship between God and human beings was originally that of parent and child, we had an inseparable relationship of love and heart. However, Adam and Eve left such a position and lost their hometown and lost their Parent, God, so they became unable to go back to God even if they missed Him.
I love the word “longing heart.” I am really touched by Yo Han Lee’s sharing. Do you know what “faith” means? Faith means to have a heartistic relationship. Father spoke about this many times, and Yo Han Lee emphasized it. The purpose of faith is to have heartistic relationships. If we do not have a heartistic relationship with our family members, then they are just strangers.
There are so many brothers and sisters at the church. If we do not have a heartistic relationship with them, then they are our strangers.
If we do not have a relationship ship with God based on a longing heart, then God is our stranger. If we don’t have a close and heartistic relationship with our spouse, then our spouse is not our spouse but our stranger.
We need to build a good, heartistic relationship with God. What was the fall? Distance from God.
So, they (Adam and Eve) were destined to wander around in isolation and defeat with no choice but to go to Hell, and this became the situation of humankind descended from the Fall. However, True Parents came to this earth, and on their victorious foundation of paying all indemnity, they proclaimed the era of a new heaven and a new earth.
However, with the ushering in of the era of a new heaven and a new earth, human beings have been pulled out of the swamp that was sucking them down, and the way has been opened for them to return to their hometowns — hometowns that they could not forget even for a moment — and meet with their true family. Therefore, now, the time of heavenly fortune has come when we humankind can recover the original family that Adam and Eve lost due to the Fall.
In addition to this heavenly fortune, we need to know that we have now ushered in an amazing time when we can attend True Parents and substantially establish Cheon Il Guk.
What is the purpose of faith? To have an inseparable heartistic relationship. Anyone with whom we do not have a heartistic relationship is a stranger to us. Where there is love, there is a longing heart; where there is a longing heart, there is love.
That is why when I see each of my brothers and sisters, I ask myself, “How close do I feel to them? How much do I long for each American member?” This is not just a relationship because I am the continental director. It is not that kind of relationship of position. But heartistically internally we need to build that kind of beautiful relationship.
Every morning I really appreciate those who come for a breakfast meeting with me. I feel closer to them, and I can have a more heartistic give-and-take with them. I really appreciate this opportunity that Heavenly Parent gave me to have at least one meal together because we are one family under True Parents. How much do we miss True Parents? How much do we have a longing heart for True Father in the spiritual world? How much of a longing heart do we have for each of our family members. The Kingdom of Heaven is a kingdom of the longing heart. We need to have those kinds of beautiful relationships.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: Eschatology 5 - Human History is the History of the Providence of Restoration 1 - The History of the Development of Cultural Spheres
• Human history can be seen as the history of the providence through which God has been trying to save fallen people and work through them to restore the original, good world.
• Let us examine in various ways the idea that human history is the history of the providence of restoration.
• First, let us examine the history of the development of cultural spheres.
• Through religion, fallen people mired in ignorance have sought to meet God by ceaselessly striving toward the good. Even though the individuals, peoples and nations which championed a certain religion may have perished, religion itself has survived.
• Religion has endured through history.
• In its history, China has experienced many cycles of the rise anc fall of dynasties and numerous transfers of political power, yet the religions of the far east-Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism-have continued to thrive.
• In India, the religion of Hinduism; in the Middle East, Islam; anc in the history of Western Europe, Christianity have continued to flourish.
• Many religions have left their mark on history. Among them, the religions with the greatest influence formed cultural spheres. The major cultural spheres which have existed at various times in world history numbered between twenty-one and twenty-six.
• With the flow of history, lesser cultural spheres were absorbed by, or merged into, the more advanced spheres. Through the evolution of cultural spheres, as they were buffeted by the rise and fall of nations, four great cultural spheres have survived to the present day: the East Asian sphere, the Hindu sphere, the Islamic sphere and the Christian sphere.
• The current trend has these four spheres forming one global cultural sphere based on the Christian ethos.
• This demonstrates that the essence of human history has been the restoration of one united world.
Let’s study Father’s word.
God Established the Internal Standard Through the Ideology of Religion
<16-129> Until this time, not even one person has completely united his mind and body. That’s why God established an external standard which is developing into a global unified form. At the same time, God established an internal standard through the ideology of religion. Religions must eliminate external elements so that they are not in contact with the world. Furthermore they must establish the standard which can unite them as one. In this way, they have to assimilate and integrate with each other. Today, four great religions have been formed centered on Christianity.
In terms of the external aspect, external elements are more and more uniting into one. In terms of the internal aspect, a unified foundation has to be established as well. Then, what is it for? It is to bring everything into oneness. Originally the internal and external aspects were one but because of the human Fall they were divided into two. Therefore, there is a need to bring them into oneness.
The Historical Age When the Unification Church Must Emerge
<16-129> Since God created the external world first, He also started from the external providence and then developed religion in proportion to that. However, the harder the entire political world fought, the more they perished. On the other hand, religion didn’t go that way. From the viewpoint of God’s providence which aims for one purpose, this is the historical age when the Unification Church (FFWPU) must emerge. Do you understand what it means? By examining trends in history, we can understand that the Unification Church (FFWPU), which unites all creeds, must emerge on earth.
Until this time, not even one person has completely united his mind and body, but God established an internal standard through the ideology of religion. Today, four great religions have been formed centered on Christianity, but now, they have to assimilate and integrate with each other.
In terms of the external aspect, external elements are more and more uniting into one. In terms of the internal aspect, a unified foundation has to be established as well. It is to bring everything into oneness.
The world is moving towards oneness even externally. That is why we must also become one internally. Even externally, the world is now headed towards the world of one family under one God. Not only that, we are flowing towards a global unified form in all aspects.
Now everything externally and internally is forming one global family.
Therefore, from now on, the world of science must become one centering on unified science, all political problems must become one centering in the Abel UN, and all religious denominations must also become one through inter-religious unification movements centering on Family Federation.
Our True Parents have a very clear strategy how to create ... one world under Heavenly God.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: True Father’s View of Life When He Was Young
We need to learn True Father’s view of life.
1. During his school days, when True Father got up in the morning, as he took his first three steps, he made the resolve “formation, growth, completion” in his mind. “If I make a mistake, the cosmos will go wrong,” “the path I am going on is absolutely for God’s wish.” He said that he took steps while making this kind of resolve. Since his days as a student, True Father knew that he was not just to remain on the individual-level, but as cosmic person in charge and representing the world, he had to take on liberating the sorrow of God. Even when having meals, while eating the first spoonful, second spoonful, and third spoonful, True Father asked himself, “Why do I have to eat food?” and checked who he was. Thinking that he is one who eats because of God's wish, he said that he ate three spoonfuls—formation, growth, and completion— as he thought about God’s wish. True Father always ate seriously, setting such conditions. Also, whenever True Father faced food, he ate while saying, “You are not food I eat to live privately. I’ll eat you publicly, so, food, rejoice.” With this view of life, True Father lived thoroughly in these ways. (Rev. Yo Han Lee’s testimony)
True Father’s view of life was consistently and thoroughly centered on God’s will all the time. Whenever he took his steps, ate his meals, slept, or put on clothes, through his life, he always practiced the Principle as it is, centering on the will and eternal values.
We need to inherit that standard from our True Parents.
When True Father took his first three steps, he made the resolve “formation, growth, completion” in his mind. “If I make a mistake, the cosmos will go wrong,” “The path I am going on is absolutely for God’s wish.” He said that he took steps while making this kind of resolve.
Even when going to sleep, he has never tried to intentionally go to sleep, thinking, “I should sleep since it’s time for bed now.” While his eyes were open, he did his best to move until he was able to and established a position that Heaven had no choice but to sympathize with, and then he slept. Since Father had many things to do, he thought that the time to sleep was the enemy.
Father often said this. He was that crazy for the sake of God’s will.
Also, whenever he sat down somewhere, he made sure to first sanctify the spot in his mind before sitting. After waking up in the morning, even if he had to go to the toilet, instead of going to the restroom first, he first prayed and then went. It is said that True Father thought of God’s will before his physical needs, so he went to the restroom after praying.
When we wake up, we usually go to the toilet first. That is being controlled by demands of the physical body. Thinking that such a thing is being dominated by the environment, True Father first prayed, even for a moment, and then went to the restroom.
Since his days as a student, True Father knew that he was not just to remain on the individual-level, but as a cosmic person in charge (of) and representing the world, he had to take on liberating the sorrow of God.
How can we have the same mindset and attitude as True Father? When he was young, he already practiced in such a way. It was so beautiful!
True Father always ate seriously, setting such conditions. Also, whenever True Father faced food, he ate while saying, “You are not food I eat to live privately. I’ll eat you publicly, so, food, rejoice.” With this view of life, True Father lived thoroughly in these ways.
A Life Centered on the Flesh and A Life Centered on the Spirit
2. When we are hungry, we eat just because we are hungry without knowing the meaning of why we have to eat food. If the food is tasty, we just enjoy eating as we smile at each other, saying how delicious it is. Looking at such things, the lives we’ve lived so far were just lives centered on lumps of flesh. It is not an exaggeration to say that most of our lives were lives lived for the flesh rather than centered on the spirit. Among people, how many truly practice a life of faith, really knowing that human beings have a spirit self? Do we really know the spirit world? Do we really know the world of heart? We have just lived with the body rejoicing, mistakenly thinking that the mind was also rejoicing. There are more times we lived unconscientiously rather than centered on original nature. We know all too well that our minds can never be at peace if our conscience is tormented.
In our lives, we must live centered on the spirit rather than the flesh. In a life centered on the flesh, once we satisfy the physical body, it just ends like that. Even if there are desires of the flesh, if we do not live connecting them to spiritual desires, then it will have nothing to do with our spiritual selves.
Until now, whenever we are hungry, we eat just because we are hungry without knowing the meaning of why we have to eat food. If the food is tasty, we just enjoy eating as we smile at each other, saying how delicious it is. Looking at such things, the lives we’ve lived so far were just lives centered on lumps of flesh.
Fallen people live lives that are completely centered on the flesh. Similarly, it is not an exaggeration to say that while practicing a life of faith and knowing God’s will, most of our lives were also lived for the flesh rather than centered on the spirit.
Due to the fall of man, how many people truly practice a life of faith, really knowing that human beings have a spirit self? How many of us really live while being aware of the spiritual world and God? Those who always think of eternal life and live centered on eternal values cannot help but to live sincerely and heartistically.
How do we live now? Even though we may be very hungry and eat something, we always need to eat connected to our eternity. Just only thinking about what to eat, what to wear, what to drink centering on our flesh does not connect to our eternal spiritual life.
That is why Father is very serious: “Am I eating something centering on God’s will or on my flesh?” He is always checking. Whatever he does, any action, he always connects and checks (whether it is) centered on God’s will and has eternal value.
That is why we need to think about it. If we have that kind of mindset always centering on eternity, on our spiritual body, this kind of mindset and attitude accumulates and our spiritual body grows day by day.
(But if we are) the same as animals concerned with what to eat, what to drink and what to wear and not much connected to our spiritual body, this makes no sense. Then our spiritual body never grows.
Because of that, anything that is not done heartistically and sincerely is a waste of time because it has nothing to do with the life of the spirit self. In that perspective, do we really do everything voluntarily and with pure joy because our heart is moved?
Until now, we have just lived with the body rejoicing, mistakenly thinking that the mind was also rejoicing. There are more times we lived unconscientiously rather than centered on original nature. Starting even now, we really need to live with the heart of doing everything—eating, sleeping, coming and going—for the sake of God’s will and eternal life.
Father’s young life really touched me. I must really think when I have a meal how serious I am. When I am dealing with something, how serious am I? Am I really eating centering on my flesh? Or on my spirit, on God’s will? Father was that serious. We need to really inherit Father’s spirit and attitude, right?
Today I talked about Father’s view of life when he was young.
(Testimony Kozan Morimoto, first year GPA, Spring Competition)
(Response to testimony) Fundraising is really challenging, but we can learn so many things actually. It is one of the best ways to meet God. We already have an experience of this, right? What kind of nature do we have? All of our fallen nature and character comes out. Fundraising is really amazing. We can really grow up through fundraising training.
(Response to sharing) Can you imagine that Father took such small things so seriously? His life was so serious! Many people misunderstand Father’s leadership and criticize this and that. (But) he was really crazy for God’s will.♦
