Key Points

·   In the East there is a saying, “All is well if there is harmony within the family.”

·   A home is actually a microcosm of the whole creation.

·   This would include every member of the family, from the grandparents to parents, young couples and children.

·   It would also include the house they live in, the lawn and the environment that surrounds that house, enabling it to breathe and have life.

·   In alignment with the principles through which God created it, the family consists of three levels of upper, middle and lower—the grandparents, parents and children.

·   You cannot discuss harmony based on just a straight line. Harmony can be created only when three or more points are connected together.

·   The 3rd generation of the family is the minimum structure of the 4 position foundation where God dwells.

·   The third generation of the family is the trinity in the family.

·   If this trinity is running well, the family will be blessed with prosperity, and harmony, love and peace will overflow in the church.

·   Therefore, if we want to establish an ideal family centered on our own family, we must think of this trinity as our life line. Apart from this trinity, there is no happiness, peace, love, or ideal.

·   The Fall of Human beings was the complete breakdown of the trinity.

·   God’s work of salvation is the providence of restoration.

·   To save a drowning person is to restore him to the state he was in before he fell in the water.

·   Likewise, to save a person suffering under the yoke of sin means to restore him to his original, sinless state.

·   The great thing about True Parents is that they discovered all the secrets of God the Creator.

·    The Kingdom of Heaven must first be established here on Earth, not in heaven first.

·    The center of God’s Kingdom on Earth is human beings.

·    That is why Jesus had to come again to this earth.

·    And it is why all ancestors also have to come to earth.

·   If the family expands, the kingdom of heaven will automatically come true.

·   True Father was someone who clearly knew the purpose and secret of God's creation.

·   True Father discovered the Principle of Dual Characteristics.

·   True Father knew that God had a wish. And when True Father revealed the secret of God's wish, God wept.

·   Ultimately, God's greatest wish for human beings is for them to become true children, true brothers, true husband and wife, and true parents. These four are God's four great wishes and four great truths.

·   We need to live together with God all 24 hours, 24 hours’ attendance, centering on our conscience. This is the Era of Attendance.

God morning, Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters, clergy and Ambassadors for Peace! Yesterday was Easter Sunday. We had a Family Reunion Sunday Service at the Minnesota Family Church. The church band performed very beautiful songs that were related to Easter and True Parents. Yesterday's church band, the words of the Bible related to Easter, the content of True Parents' words, and praises seemed to be a truly world-class service. I was so moved.

Cheon Il Guk worship was an exemplary worship service that shows what direction we should go in the future. In particular, the voice of Rebecca, who is in charge of Morning Devotion's MC, was like the voice of an angel coming from Heaven. Thanks to all the staff and everyone, it was a really incredible and beautiful Sunday Service. I gave a sermon on the title of “How to create a model church”.

We had a great time eating lunch with the Minnesota family members. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Pastor Ha, an amazing pastor, and all the staff for their hard work, and Sub-regional 3 leader, Rev. Takami, who purposely came for this meeting. I really appreciate him.

Today I’d like to talk about “The Model Family: A Family of Three Generations” from True Mother’s Anthology Vol.2.

<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon at the congratulatory luncheon for True Parents' Birthday and the Universal Peace Federation's 1st Global Assembly, held on February 3, 2006 at the Cheong Pyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center in Korea.>

The Model Family: A Family of Three Generations

Distinguished world leaders, ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests from Korea and around the world who participated in yesterday's international Proclamation Rally for the Era of the Peace Kingdom in Heaven and on Earth! We have gathered here today for a dinner to convey our appreciation to you for making yesterday's rally a great success, and also so that you can share with my husband and me in celebrating our birthdays. Ladies and gentlemen, during yesterday's rally, my husband spoke based on the theme of a model, ideal family. In the East there is a saying, “All is well if there is harmony within the family. This is a beautiful statement. When we talk about a home, we also talk about the people who live there. This would include every member of the family, from the grandparents to parents, young couples and children.

But actually there is more to it than meets the eye. A home is actually a microcosm of the whole creation. A home would include the family members, beginning with the grandparents; it would also include the house they live in, the lawn and the environment that surrounds that house, enabling it to breathe and have life. Everybody in that house should be joyful and live in happiness. A true home cannot be a place where people and the environment are in disharmony. That would be something that only looks like a home on the surface.

A home as desired by Heaven would be one where the entire household is beaming in harmony and filled with the merry laughter of the wrinkled but joyous grandfather and grandmother; it would be a place filled with the laughter of the grandchildren, echoing prayers of hope that express the promise of the future. The seemingly slow gestures of the grandfather reflect something broad, deep, high and vast. A home should be a place where one can hear God's joy in the hearty laughter of the grandfather. A harmonious melody should flow out from the hem of the thoughtful grandmother's skirt, and the nobility of the heavenly way should be living and breathing in the focused gaze of the ever-busy father and mother. In alignment with the principles through which God created, the family consists of three levels of upper, middle and lower—the grandparents, parents and children. All three levels are necessary to create harmony in the family. Normally, three points are needed in order to create harmony. Two points would only constitute a line. You cannot discuss harmony based on just a straight line. Harmony can be created only when three or more points are connected together.

In the East there is a saying, “All is well if there is harmony within the family.” This is a beautiful statement. When we talk about a home, we also talk about the people who live there. This would include every member of the family, from the grandparents to parents, young couples and children.

A home is actually a microcosm of the whole creation. A home would include the family members, beginning with the grandparents; it would also include the house they live in, the lawn and the environment that surrounds that house, enabling it to breathe and have life. Everybody in that house should be joyful and live in happiness.

In alignment with the principles through which God created it, the family consists of three levels of upper, middle and lower—the grandparents, parents and children. All three levels are necessary to create harmony in the family.

Normally, three points are needed in order to create harmony. Two points would only constitute a line. You cannot discuss harmony based on just a straight line. Harmony can be created only when three or more points are connected together.

The 3rd generation of the family is the minimum structure of the 4 position foundation where God dwells. And the third generation of this family is the trinity in the family. The fall of human beings was the complete breakdown of the trinity. This trinity is an absolutely necessary organization to form the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore, if we want to establish an ideal family centered on our own family, we must think of this trinity as our life line. Apart from this trinity, there is no happiness, peace, love, or ideal.

Please don't forget that our grandparents, parents and children are our trinity. Each of us must take responsibility in protecting and nurturing this trinity organization under all circumstances by serving each other. Specifically, the relationship with our parents, our relationship with our spouse, and our relationship with our children is a trinity.

We need to expand and manage our trinity organization. When we go to church or our community, we have to serve those who become our parents, and horizontally, our peers, and those who are at our children's level.

If this trinity organization is running well, the family will be blessed with prosperity, and harmony, love and peace will overflow in the church. Look at Adam’s family. The trinity of Adam and Eve and children was completely broken. Look at Jesus. His disciples could not unite with him. Mary and Joseph and Jesus were really struggling with the 4 position foundation, which is the Trinity system. Grandparents, parents and children are another Trinity system. In our Church, we need to have this kind of trinity structure as well. Upper level, horizontal level, and lower level. On a personal level, we need to have a parental, Abel figure to protect us and guide us, and on a horizontal level we to give and take very well with each other, and on a lower level we need to serve and love our juniors. Everywhere, we need to have this Trinity structure, then our lives of faith will become very stable and healthy. We need to have three spiritual children as well. The number 3 is a really incredible number, it is the Trinity structure system.

Please remember the structure of the Trinity system, it is very important.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE:

God’s Work of Salvation God’s Work of Salvation is the Providence of Restoration

·      God intended to create a world of goodness and experience from it the utmost joy; yet due to the human Fall, the world came to be filled with sin and sorrow.

·      If this sinful world were to continue forever in its present state, then God would be an impotent and ineffectual God who failed in His creation. Therefore, God will save this sinful world, by all means.

·      To save a person suffering under the yoke of sin means to restore him to his original, sinless state.

·      Thus, God’s work of salvation is the providence of restoration.

·      The human Fall was undoubtedly the result of human mistakes.

·      Nevertheless, God also assumes some responsibility for the outcome because it was He who created human beings.

·      God, the eternal subject partner, created us to live eternally because He wanted to share eternal joy with human beings as His object partners.

·      Therefore, God saves fallen people and restores them to the original, pure state in which He initially created them.

·      God’s purpose of creation is the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven, which in its totality is God’s good object partner. The center of God’s Kingdom on earth is to be human beings.

·   Ever since the fall of the first human ancestors frustrated this Will, the primary goal of the providence of restoration has been nothing less than to rebuild the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.

·   Jesus told his disciples to pray, “Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt. 6:10) His words testify that the goal of the providence of restoration is the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.

God Works for the Salvation of Humanity Due to Our Parent-Child Relationship

1.   The sinful world brings humankind sorrow and causes God to grieve. (Gen. 6:6)

2.   God intended to create a world of goodness and experience from it the utmost joy; yet due to the human fall, the world came to be filled with sin and sorrow. If the sinful world were to continue forever in its present state, then God would be an impotent and ineffectual God who failed in His creation. Therefore, God will save this sinful world by all means. He will complete his salvation.

3.   God will surely work for the salvation of humanity due to the parent-child relationship between God and human beings. The bereaved parents cannot resolve their deep sorrow until they find their children.

God Works for Complete Salvation

1.   To what extent should God save this world? He should save it completely. To save a drowning person is to restore him to the state he was in before he fell in the water.

Total salvation. Some people don’t understand the meaning of salvation. They think that God chooses somebody. If God only saved people who believe in him, only believe in Jesus, then God is not the parent of all mankind. God is the parent of all mankind. He treats each human being as his own child. He does not care about nationality, color, race. He wants to save all, without missing a single one, otherwise it is not total salvation. I really love True Parents’ concept of total salvation. That’s why we focus on total salvation. Even Jesus loved his enemies. We need to embrace everybody. If you have the concept of total salvation, you will have a heart big enough to embrace any religion, race or nationality. Because you know that God is the parent, we are his children. Since I realized this point, my heart is very open. I love Americans, I love Japanese, I love Africans, anyone. Because of God’s concept of total salvation. As a leader, you can’t discriminate among people of different nationalities, color, or even sinful people. To save a sick person is to restore him to the condition of health he had before the illness.

2.   Likewise, to save a person suffering under the yoke of sin means to restore him to his original, sinless state. In other words, God’s work of salvation is the providence of restoration.

God Will Absolutely Fulfill His Promise to Us

When God created human beings, He promised to help us accomplish the three great blessings. He declared through Isaiah 46:11 “I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it”, meaning that despite the Fall, God has been working to fulfill His promise to us through the providence to restore these blessings. “You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matt. 5:48)

At the individual level, family level, to receive God’s blessing, we have to be perfect, even if humanity has not fulfilled its portion of responsibility. No matter what, he wants to help them and raise them up and nurture them. He said “I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.” He will do it not matter what. He is working through the providence to fulfill his promise to us to restore these three blessings. He sent Jesus to restore us to our original, ideal state, as we can discern from Jesus’ words to his disciples,

The Goal of the Providence of Restoration is the Establishment of God’s Kingdom

1.   The goal of the providence of restoration is the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven which is God’s purpose of creation. The center of God’s Kingdom on earth is to be human beings. We need to know that and believe it while in the earthly world. Without establishing God’s Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, we can’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven in Heaven. Everything centering on Earth. That’s why Jesus had to come again, to establish God’s Kingdom on Earth. We can’t complete God’s Kingdom of Heaven in the spiritual world. All ancestors have to come to earth again. We need to establish it on earth, not in heaven first.

2.   Because of the fall of the first ancestors, God’s Will for the earth was not realized. Since then, the primary goal of the providence of restoration has been nothing less than to rebuild the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. Therefore, the first mission of central figures who came to fulfill the providence of restoration is to establish God’s Kingdom, that is, the Kingdom of Heaven.

3.   Jesus, who came 2,000 years ago, told his disciples to pray, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matt. 6:10)” and after Jesus fasted for forty days and had three temptations, he also said, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matt. 4:17)

4.   Therefore, it has become clear that the goal of the providence of salvation or the providence of restoration is to restore the kingdom of heaven on earth and human history is the providential history to restore God’s kingdom through His providence of salvation. We do not know our history, the guidance of history. When we learn the Divine Principle it becomes very clear. Where to go.

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY:

What Do You Wish For?

The Great Discovery of the Principle of Dual Characteristics

1.   The principle of the dual characteristics of the Divine Principle is truly a great discovery. Which religion knows the principle of dual nature? None of them knew about it until now. Did we know the principle that all beings are composed of dual characteristics, positive and negative, and that God is the subject of these dual characteristics? It was not known by any religion. It might seem evident once we know, but no religion knew specifically what kind of person God is.

Buddhism, too, did not know God, who is the root of the universe and the subject of dual characteristics. All the saints who have come so far have not reached the stage of knowing God. Most saints only realize it in their own existence. They realized one thing that human beings are not to complain about, but to live for others. This was the limit of the realization of the saints.

What is the principle of dual characteristics? It is saying that the relationship between me and God is that 'I am you, you are me'. It is said that God and human beings are inseparable from each other through the relationship of parents and children. Just as the body and mind are inseparable, God and human beings are said to be inseparable even if they originally wanted to be separated.

Just as our relationship with God is like that of a body and mind that can never be separated, a husband and wife are inseparable, and the relationship between God and human beings is an inseparable relationship centered on true love. Other religions, including Buddhism, have not been able to reveal that God exists and that God and human beings have a relationship of dual characteristics

In Christianity, Jesus came and said that the relationship between man and God is that of a parent and child, and called God Father, but he did not mention the principle of dual characteristics centering on male and female.

If Jesus had clarified that the principle of dual characteristics centered on male and female is absolute, would Christianity have flowed into celibacy? What do you think?

All existing religions today have said that living for others brings blessings. That’s fine, however they have not clearly explained why we must live for the sake of others and why we must marry. They do not understand the pair system. They do not understand the principle of dual characteristics. Actually, dual characteristics is a very powerful principle. Inseparable relationships that cannot be separated, forever. Can you separate your mind and body? It is impossible. Where there is “I’ there is “Me” Where there is Me there is God. An eternal and inseparable relationship. We cannot separate from him.  God is always with us and guiding us through our conscience. “My Son,” “My Daughter”.  Always saying through our conscience, if you do that, how happy you will be Once we understand the principle of dual characteristics, how God is that close to us, how happy we will be. God wants to live with us forever, because of the principle of dual characteristics. True Father discovered the Principle of Dual Characteristics, an amazing discovery. Even though we betray him or run away from him., God never forgets us. God wants to live with us. Once we realize this inseparable relationship, we will cry. We need to live together with God all 24 hours a day, 24 hours’ attendance, centering on our conscience. This is the Era of Attendance.

The Limit of a Saint’s Enlightenment

2.  What the saints realized was that human beings are meant to live for the sake of the family and the country. But they didn't know God. Saints didn't even know the importance of family and why they should get married. The root of sin and the importance of lineage were not mentioned at all. They didn't even know why God created male and female as dual characteristics. Most of the people that were called saints have been single.

Many of them did not know why humans had to marry and ended up being single for the rest of their life. However, True Parents knew all the secrets of the Creator and discovered that all human beings were destined to become true children, true brothers and sisters, true couples, and true parents on this earth, and practiced that life.

During the past 6,000 years of the history of God's providence of restoration, no religion has revealed that all beings are composed of dual characteristics. As a result, the view of God was ambiguous, the relationship between God and humans was ambiguous, and the relationship between humans was not clearly defined.

Since many saints do not know the principle of dual characteristics, they have not been able to explain why humans should marry. So they didn't even know why God created male and female.

However, the great thing about True Parents is that they discovered all the secrets of God the Creator. And it was revealed that human beings were born with God's wishes. No one knew that they were born with God's wish to eventually become true children, true brothers and sisters, true couples, and true parents on this earth. It looks very simple, but is very, very important.

What Do You Wish For?

3. When God once asked True Father, 'What do you wish for?', True Father answered 'No one on earth has realized the ideal of True Parents. What other wish do I have than to have supreme victory as True Parents?" Hearing such an answer, God was so surprised that He cried. Wasn't it because True Father answered God's ideal, will, and circumstances when no one else had realized it, that He cried? (Cheon Seong Gyeong, pp. 964, 965). True Father was someone who clearly knew the purpose and secret of God's creation. Until now, no one in human history has given such an answer. This was actually surprising.

True Father Who made God Weep Hundreds of Times

4. Have you heard that True Father made God weep hundreds of times during the course of his life? True Father was well aware of the situation in which God had great han and grieved over the failure of human beings to achieve the ideal of true parents. Adam and Eve failed to achieve that ideal of True Parents, Jesus failed to achieve that ideal, and countless prophets, saints, and sages came and went, but no one realized the ideal of True Parents.

This caused God to hold great han over the people. A true couple who must fulfill the ideal of True Parents must emerge, but True Father knew better than anyone else that God was in sorrow over the result of it being completely taken away by Satan through the fall of Adam and Eve. That is why when God heard True Father's answer, He wept.

True Father knew the secrets and wishes of God's creation better than anyone else. Therefore, we also need to be clear about our goals in life. Making money is not the goal. The goal is not to support the family financially while going to work. The goal is not to have a lot of money and live without being envious of everyone else.

Some of the saints who have come so far have thought that God is omnipotent and can do anything, but they never thought about what God wished for. However, True Father knew that God had a wish. And when True Father revealed the secret of God's wish, God wept. True Father was the only one who knew God’s wish. He knows the purpose of our lives, the direction, where to go, what to do. That’s why he was talking about the three blessings, in Genesis.

Ultimately, God's greatest wish for human beings is to become true children, true brothers and sisters, true husband and wife, and true parents. These four are God's four great wishes and four great truths. Other than that, there is nothing else that God desires from human beings. Anyone who becomes a true child, true brother or sister, true couple, or true parent will automatically be given the right to rule over all things. And beyond that, if the family expands, the kingdom of heaven will automatically come true. Very beautiful guidance given by True Father.

Today I talked about “What do You Wish For?” If anyone asks us what we wish for, we all have the same answer, if we know God’s Will.  Thank you very much. God Bless You.
