Key Points

  • Now is the time for humanity to abandon wars and weapons, embrace living for the sake of others and pool its resources to build the world of peace desired by God.

  • Heaven is living for the sake of others and a willingness to sacrifice oneself for others.

  • God’s ownership of human beings and our ownership of the creation are determined by whether we become his children, possess his love and fulfill our portion of responsibility through the growth period.

  • Then the proper subject-object father-child relationship is created.

  • Training to love nature is training to love people which is training to love God and experience His heart.

  • When we love nature, we represent God as a second creator with the heart of completing all things by growing and touching them with our own hands.

  • HQ (Heart Quotient) is more important than IQ. We need to develop the level of our heart even more than that of our intellect.

  • We are all called by God to a specific mission. To know what it is, we need to know the will, wish, circumstances and heart of God.

  • Our mission is to discover clearly what that calling is.

  • That clarity will give us the vision to fulfill it.

  • It comes from continually asking heaven why we are called, what for specifically, and how to fulfill it.

  • We always need to meditate on the wish and motive of the One who sent us and blessed us: why he blessed us to our spouse and why he gave us our current mission.

  • The most fundamental reason God calls us is for us to become true children, true brothers and sisters, a true husband and wife, and ultimately true parents.

  • We need to ask often. Then our mission and motivation become very clear.

Bogo shipoyo! Bogo shipoyo means “I miss you; I long for you!” I am grateful to Heavenly Parent that we have this kind of beautiful online holy community and can have give-and-take every day.

Yesterday, I had breakfast with one family of the Manhattan Church. This couple is Jorg and Ayako Heller. Our Rev. Heller is still very strong at 80 years old. Look at his face. He doesn’t look 80 years old. He is a young soldier, right? Ayako is working so hard to translate every day. Thank you so much for your couple’s incredible and beautiful dedication!

Today I’d like to talk about “God's Ideal Family and the Kingdom of the Peaceful Ideal World I” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.

<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between October 3 and October 14, 2005 during a speaking tour in Japan to mark the launch of the Universal Peace Federation.>

Ladies and gentlemen, some may doubt that such a project can be completed. However, where there is a will, there is always a way, especially if it is the Will of

God. The science and technology of the twenty-first century render it possible to construct a tunnel under the Bering Strait. The construction costs are also not a problem. Think of how much money the world is wasting on war. Humanity needs to realize that we are committing fearful sins in the presence of history and our descendants. Let us take one example. How much money has the United States spent on the war in Iraq during the past three years?

It is approaching $200 billion. That budget would be more than enough to complete the Bering Strait project. War is a most primitive and destructive means of resolving conflict; it will never lead to lasting peace. Now is the time, as the prophet Isaiah taught, to beat our swords into plowshares and our spears into pruning hooks. Humankind must end the perverse cycle of sacrificing our children's lives and squandering astronomical sums of money to fight wars. The time has come for the countries of the world to pool their resources and advance toward the world of peace desired by God, who is the master and Parent of this great universe.

The United States spent about $200 billion on the war in Iraq over the course of three years from 2003 to 2005. That budget would be more than enough to complete the Bering Strait project.

Why do we have to continue with the foolish atrocities of throwing so much money into wars where we die and kill each other? True Mother said now is the time, as the prophet Isaiah taught, to beat our swords into plowshares and our spears into pruning hooks.

Now, the time has come for the countries of the world to pool their resources and advance toward the world of peace desired by God, who is the master and Parent of this great universe. If everyone in the world knew that the fundamental truth of the universe was to exist for the sake of others and we put that into practice, how peaceful would the world be?

Our True Parents’ main philosophy is living for the sake of others. If everyone had the concept and philosophy of living for the sake of others, putting God first, putting others first, putting our spouse first, this is the only way we can create world peace. Many people do not know this philosophy.

The Fall is knowing only about oneself and one’s own family, and thinking about the interests of one’s own country. The Fall is always self-centered. On the contrary, Heaven is always centered on altruism and has the spirit of living for the sake of others, even if it means sacrificing oneself.

How can we ask all political, NGO and religious leaders (to adopt?) this main philosophy of living for the sake of others?

Why do we have to live for the sake of others? Because love can only come from the object partner. We cannot create love, joy and happiness by ourself. Love can only come from others. That is why we have no choice; we have to live for the sake of others, right? Without living for the sake of others we cannot get any happiness and joy. If we live for our own self, maybe temporarily we may feel a little satisfied, but that cannot last. This is an amazing universal principle!

God has that philosophy. If we really understand the philosophy of living for the sake of others, we can create individual peace, family peace, tribal peace, national peace and world peace. What is important is how we educate (people). If the main political leaders in America including the president and all congressmen (know that) truly America needs to live for the sake of the world serving 200 nations, then (this nation) can become the center. One who lives for the sake of others can become the center. This is an important principle.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: Chapter 3 Eschatology 3 - The Completion of God’s Purpose of Creation and the Human Fall

Regardless of the purity of the people of this society, if they were living in primitive circumstances like cavemen, this could not be considered the Kingdom of Heaven which both God and human beings desire.

God gave us the mandate to have dominion over all things. Hence, to realize the ideal of creation, people of perfected character should advance science, harness the natural world, and create a pleasant social and living environment.

This will be the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. God's primary purpose of creation is to build the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.

Let’s study Father’s word.

The Decisive Power of Ownership

<126-193> For what reason do we love nature? to love people For what reason do we love people? to love God For what reason do we love God? It is in order to have the decisive power of ownership for us to become sons and daughters and for God to become our parent. Decisive power brings about stages and orderliness. It means the order of all creation is established. Then everything will be connected.

What is the determinant of ownership? Our ownership is determined when we fulfill our portion of responsibility. Do we belong to God? Or do we belong to Satan? Know that our ownership is determined according to the fulfillment of our responsibility. In order for us to become God’s, we need to first have absolute conviction that the relationship between God and us is that of parent and child.

When the fact that God and “I” have a parent-child relationship is finally settled, order will be established. From there, the order of the relationship between the subject partner and object partner will unmistakably be settled. This means that the subject-object partner relationship in which God is the Parent and we are His child will be established. It also means that human beings are the owners of all creation, and all creation can be dominated by human beings as the object partner (of humans).

Therefore, in order for this parent-child relation to be established, human beings must fulfill their portion of responsibility through the growth period. If we cannot possess God’s love, then we cannot even become God’s children or even the Lord with dominion over all creation.

That is why we human beings need training. The training to love nature is to love people, and the training to love people is ultimately to love God and experience His heart.

Why do we love nature? To love people. Why do we love people? To love God. Why do we love God? To have the decisive power of ownership.

Love Nature in the Position of the Second Creator

<279-54> Would you like to live in a city or in nature? in nature You should love nature. You should have the mindset to stand in the position of God as the second creator like God created all things and then grow and complete them through your hands like God enjoyed creating. This is the duty of sons and daughters who determine to love God and stand in the position of the creator instead of God. Aju!

True Father always emphasized to us to live together with nature. There is a reason we must love nature. While loving nature, we live, representing God as the second creators with the heart of completing all things by growing and touching them with our own hands.

As a co-creator, as a farmer, when we touch all things, we need to think that through our touch all things can be complete.

When we touch each item of all things, we can make it complete; we need to have this attitude and participate as a co-creator.

The world has the tendency to place more importance on IQ rather than EQ.

Many people say, “Oh, you have an excellent brain. You have a master or doctor degree.” Many people judge according to the standard of IQ.

But True Father said that in the kingdom of heaven, EQ (Emotional Quotient) is more important. And we need to develop a level higher than EQ to develop our headquarters or Heart Quotient.

How can we develop the level of our heart? Our HQ? How can we develop the level of our heart more than IQ or even EQ? That is our goal.

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: What Is Your Mission?

1. What is your mission? You must live, always knowing this. If your consciousness about your mission becomes clouded, you are like secular people. Why did True Parents bless you? What do you think is God’s wish in blessing you? Finding this out clearly is each’s own mission. When you know your mission right, that becomes your vision and values. Why did God choose you all? What is the difference between those who were chosen and those who were not chosen?

People who were chosen must know that they have the wish of the One who chose them. Did you choose your husband as your partner because you wanted to? Did you decide on your own to go the way of God’s will? You did not receive the blessing and get sent to your spouse’s family because you wanted to, right? To fulfill your responsibilities, you need to know the wish of the One who sent you. Therefore, it concludes that your life must be a life centered on God’s will.

Do we all have the sense of mission that God called us? If we have the sense of mission that God called us, what we must do will become clear. The reason God called us all is undoubtedly because He desires for us to know that He has a wish.

So, those who have a sense of mission that God has called them can never live by their own wishes or desires. We need to move according to the wishes of the One who called us.

Therefore, we all need to know the will, wish, circumstance, and heart of God, who called us. If this sense of mission or sense of duty becomes clouded for even a moment, we become just like secular people.

Why do we think God called us all to the Unification Church and blessed our family? Finding this out clearly is each (person’s) own mission. When we know our mission, we will have the vision to fulfill that mission, we will have values centered on the Will, and our sense of mission will become clearer.

That is why I always ask myself why True Parents sent me to America? What should America do? What is the role of America? Why did God choose America as the second Israel? Why did America become a Christian country? What is the mission of this country? Why did the Japanese missionaries come to America all the way from Japan? What is their mission?

We always need to ask about God’s calling. We always need to ask ourself what our mission is. Whenever we ask our own self what our mission is, why God is calling us, then our purpose for being here becomes very clear. The purpose of America’s existence becomes very clear. We need to ask often.

Why did God choose us all? What is the difference between those who were chosen and those who were not chosen? People who were chosen know that they have the wish of the One who chose them, and people who were not chosen wander about without knowing what they have to do.

Did we choose our spouse as our partner because we wanted to? The reason we met our spouse is because there is the wish of the One who Blessed us.

That is why we need to unite (with the one) who called us, who sent us here. We did not come here from our own motivation, right? Who called you? Who chose you? As a blessed family, who gave us the Blessing. We need to know who called us. When we know who called us, our mission is very clear. We will know what to do, what to focus on.

Therefore, we should not forget our mission: why God called us. There is a clear reason why God called each human being. Someone (may be) a businessman or (may be involved in the) ocean providence, (may be) a full-time member or a church leader. Or someone (may become) a professor. There is a clear reason why God called us to be a teacher, a business man, an ocean providence (participant) or a full-time member.

Did we decide on our own to go the way of God’s will? Are we the one who decided, “Oh, I need to follow God’s will.” Actually, God called us.

We did not receive the blessing and get sent to our spouse’s family because we wanted to, right?

Did we chose our spouse by ourself? Most of us were chosen by True Parents. Then we need to know why True Father chose our spouse, why True Parents gave us the Blessing. We need to always ask, “Why?” Then we can understand our mission clearly. As long as our mission is clear, we can have very clear vision and set up very clear goals.

Therefore, to fulfill our responsibility, we need to know the wish of the One who sent us.

That is why we cannot decide by ourself. God sent us. He has his desires and wishes why he called us. We cannot decide our own way, the purpose of our life because God sent us. That is why we need to know why he sent us, chose us, called us.

Then if we ask many times from the bottom of our heart, God will tell us clearly what we should do. Even if we are second generation, 10 or 19 years old, we can ask God what our mission is. “Why did you ask me to be born as a second generation? Which way (leads to) happiness? Which way is your desire, your wish? Why did you choose me as a second generation?” We need to ask God. If we sincerely ask from the bottom of our heart, then Father said, between 16 and 24 years old God will clearly tell us what to do and what area we need to focus on.

But if we do not have a clear answer from God between 16 and 24 (years old), then our alignment is not clear, our faith is unstable, and our relationship with God is not so great. As long as we have very clear alignment with God, he will tell us clearly which way to go, what major to (pursue) and focus on. God will tell us very clearly.

If “why” is blurry and unclear and cloudy, our alignment is not clear, our mission is not clear.

If we sincerely ask, God will tell us what to do, even (provide) our daily and weekly and monthly schedule.

“Our church needs to go where? Heavenly Father, where should our New Jersey church go? What should it do centered on the current situation?” Ask God. He has his own wish, idea and desire. He knows how to do it. God has our answer. He has wisdom about how to break through. That is why we need to kneel down and pray about it.

Know God’s Wish in Blessing Me and Sending Me to My Spouse’s Family

2. You all must know that there is clearly the will of the One who sent you when He choose you and sent you to your spouse’s family, and you must take responsibility for it. However, if your sense of mission regarding the One who sent you becomes clouded, you just become unenlightened. There is no value to your life. Meeting each other by an eternal bond through the Blessing is not the only precious thing. The mission you must fulfill after receiving the Blessing is more important. God and True Parents have a wish for you. God and True Parents have a wish in sending you to your spouse’s family. In particular, international couples must think about this well. Why did True Parents form pairs between enemy nations and send you to your spouse’s family? There is a clear mission in that. When God and True Parents send you somewhere, there is an unmistakable mission in that.

Why did True Parents bless us? We all must know that there is clearly the will of the One who sent us when He choose and Blessed us and sent us to our spouse’s family, and we must take responsibility for it.

Sometimes we may struggle with our spouse. Then (we should) ask, “Heavenly Father, why do I have to be responsible for this guy?” Sincerely ask. There is a reason. Maybe because of ancestors. There are all kinds of reasons. God knows very well. That is why we need to fundamentally ask God. We did not choose our Blessing by ourself. We were just following God’s will, God’s calling. That is why we need to sincerely ask. God will give us an answer.

Why did True Parents send Japanese members to America? Why did True Parents send American and European members all across the world as missionaries? Our sense of mission will become clearer only when we clearly identify the motive of the One who sent us. If this becomes clouded, we just become unenlightened.

Simply receiving the Blessing is not the only thing that is important. The mission we must fulfill after receiving the Blessing is more important. We always need to meditate on the wish and motive of the One who sent and blessed us.

God and True Parents have a wish for us. God and True Parents have a wish in sending us to our spouse’s family as well as in sending us to the place we currently work in.

“Why did God ask me to do this job? The ocean providence or business or this and that.” We need to ask God. There is a reason.

In particular, international couples must think about this well.

Why did True Parents form pairs between enemy nations and send us to our spouse’s family? There is a clear mission in that. When God and True Parents send us somewhere, there is an unmistakable mission in that. If we are always conscious about our mission, we can be clearer on our motive for starting off.

In fact, if we know it, every human being has been called by God. The most fundamental reason why God called us is that God's calling and hope for us is that we become true children, true brothers and sisters, true husband and wife, and after giving birth to children ultimately, true parents. We need to know that it is meant to be. No matter what we do or what responsibilities we take (on), we must not lose our mission that Heaven desires.

That is why our motivation has to be very clear about why God is calling us. We need to ask often. Then we automatically have a clearer relationship with God, and our mission and motivation are very clear. We need to know why God called us. Then our purpose of life is very clear, and we have more power, more vision and more strength to go forward.

Today I talked about “What Is Your Mission?”
