Key Points

  • The International Highway, including the Bering Strait Project, will tear down the walls of race, culture, religion and country, and help to establish a world of peace.

  • For this project to succeed, world leaders must accept the basic ideology of True Parents: “The world is one family under God” and the philosophy of "living for the sake of others."

  • The Kingdom of Heaven is the world in which two become one: mind and body, man and woman, God and humans, and humans and the creation.

  • God will govern our relationships and we will subjugate our body if we live a life that honors and absolutely obeys our conscience as if it were God. The conscience even “comes before” God, parents and teachers.

  • In order not to “cast a shadow,” we must live in absolute obedience to the words of True Parents.

  • True love embraces and digests even the flaws of enemies.

  • It is not the flaws of our enemy that cause us to suffer but our own fallen nature which cannot embrace those flaws.

  • We can only rid ourself of our fallen nature if we cease thinking that the other person causes us to suffer and realize that it is our response to their perceived flaws that makes us suffer.

  • We can see the other person's fallen nature because we too have the same fallen nature.

  • Loving our enemies removes our fallen nature, so we should be grateful for enemies.

  • The best way to get rid of fallen nature is to love the unlovable.

  • Faith is overcoming challenges like unlovable people and arduous tasks. We should seek out both.

  • True love digests the impossible.

  • Heaven can’t tolerate "I don’t want to."

  • We can develop our faith by thinking that all problems are our own.

  • God helps us to overcome challenges “according to our mindset and attitude.”

  • The reason why we hate or feel dissatisfied with others is because “our conscience is smeared with dirt” and we have the fallen nature to feel such hatred and displeasure in ourself.

  • We can come to know our level of shimjeong and that of others by serving them well, whatever their state of heart.

  • If we perceive it is lower than ours, we need to seek to raise them up through serving them; if higher, we need to inherit from them through serving them.

(Response to sharing) I just came back from the Dominican Republic as you know. It is a real potential Cheon Il Guk country. We have decided to educate all the top VIPs, and I am really find out about training the second generation.♦

I returned late at night from the Dominican Republic yesterday. I came back at midnight. Immigration took more than three hours!

I was so happy to meet the GPA missionaries there. I went to check the missionary activities of the second generation of Americans. I went there and returned with high hopes.

Last Saturday, I had breakfast with three families of the New Jersey church. They are Kotoe Kato, Kenichi & Kimmie Kato. I really appreciate how the Kenichi couple serves and attends. Kenichi’s mother is a beautiful lady.

This is Yoshiaki Inomata.

Here are Makoto & Yoshiko Shigemasa and their son, Ayato Shigemasa. Yesterday I discovered that Makoto is my spiritual grandson. Wow!

Last Sunday, I had breakfast with three families of the New Jersey church. They are Ruben & Rosario and their son, Prince. He is a handsome boy!

Here are Maria Martins, Cecy, and Dae Jung. Dae Jung is a really good boy.

This is Christine Brunkhorst. She is working hard as a matching supporter. I really appreciate her dedication and her beautiful heart.

Last Sunday, the Commitment Ceremony of Janathan(sic) and Asami was held at the New Jersey Family Church. It was one of the best engagement ceremonies. It was so beautiful! Many second generation came.

I gave congratulatory remarks.

Look at them. I think one-third of them are second generation. I would suggest to our church leaders to have the engagement ceremony during Sunday service. It is great education for our second generation. It is so beautiful! I told you that the era of Cheon Il Guk is giving testimony. They already know Divine Principle and God’s word. They want to hear substantial testimony (that the) Divine Principle really works. We need to (provide) that kind of testimony.

Last Monday, April 3rd, I visited the Santo Domingo Family Church in the Dominican Republic and had a meeting with Rev. Sang Seuk Kim, the continental director of Central America, and (other) key leaders.

(We discussed) how we can manage well our second and third generation going to the region as a training place. (We also spoke about) how we can support Dominica (?the Dominican Republic?) and about VIP education.

The next day, April 4th, I visited the CARP center in Santiago with Rev. Sang Seuk Kim and had a meeting with key leaders and CIG missionaries.

I also heard the testimonies from CIG members and encouraged them.

Wow! I was so moved by the testimonies of Kenta(?), Abraham, Fumio and Kamma(?). They really had life-changing experiences. (We should) let our second and third generation young people go overseas and serve other nations. All of them meet God (there). These are incredible testimonies, I am telling you! That is why I went there purposely. How can we invite all second and third generation – and even first generation for a short time – during summer and winter vacation. How (well) they can meet God! I went to check because I love our second and third generation youth so much!

Today I’d like to talk about “God's Ideal Family and the Kingdom of the Peaceful Ideal World I” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.

<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between October 3 and October 14, 2005 during a speaking tour in Japan to mark the launch of the Universal Peace Federation.>

Leaders from around the world, let me take the opportunity provided by today’s distinguished forum to reiterate the proposal my husband and I have made for a truly providential and revolutionary project. For the sake of peace and human welfare, and to build God's homeland and original hometown, we propose that we build a passage for transit across the Bering Strait, which is the last remnant of Satan's historical division between east and west, north and south, and where the North American and Eurasian landmasses are separated.

This passage, which we call the World Peace King Bridge and Tunnel, will link an international highway system that will allow people to travel on land from Africa's Cape of Good Hope to Santiago, Chile, and from London to New York, across the Bering Strait, connecting the world as a single community. God is warning that separation and division will no longer be tolerated. Carrying out this project will bind the world together as one village. It will tear down the man-made walls of race, culture, religion and country, and will help to establish the world of peace that has been God's cherished desire. The United States and Russia can become as one. The European continent, China, India, Japan, Brazil and all nations, along with all the world's religions, can combine their energies to succeed in this project. The success of this project will be decisive in establishing a peace kingdom where people will no longer make war with each other.

God is warning that separation and division will no longer be tolerated. True Parents declared a project that will tear down the man-made walls of race, culture, religion and country, and will help to establish the world of peace that has been God's cherished desire.

That project is the 'World Peace King Bridge and Tunnel' which will link an international highway system including the Bering Strait Project.

The success of this project will be decisive in establishing a peace kingdom where people will no longer make war and division with each other. However, even though Father really showed that kind of incredible vision, what is important is that in order for this project to succeed, world leaders must accept the basic ideology of True Parents: “The world is one family under God” and the philosophy of "living for the sake of others."

Without understanding the philosophy of living for the sake of others and (the view that) the world is (to be) one family under God, it will be impossible to build (this project). How can we educate the leadership? Our job is to really educate them in heavenly ideology, True Parents’ ideology.

To this end, UPF is saying that we must teach world leaders the principle of living for the sake of others through True Parents' ideology, the Unification Thought and Principle.

When I was in Asia we educated more than 80% of the political, NGO and academic leaders and taught them the Divine Principle especially emphasizing the concept of living for the sake of others. It was very powerful! It changed their concepts completely.

I really realized how powerful educating John the Baptist is. If they know True Parents’ philosophy, they can have life-changing experiences.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: Chapter 3 Eschatology 3 - The Completion of God’s Purpose of Creation and the Human Fall

• Had Adam and Eve reached perfection, they would have borne good children and founded a sinless family and society in complete concordance with God's blessings. They would then have founded the Kingdom of Heaven, which consists of one great family with the same parents.

True Parents always speak about one family under God. This slogan is very powerful. Only the messiah can bring this kind of concept and ideology. God does not care about nationality, (skin) color or any kind of boundary. That is why all humankind needs to know that God is the parent of all humankind. We are his children. If we really know this, how powerful an ideology that is!

One Family under God

1. The kingdom of heaven on earth is the realization of the dream of all human beings forming a large family centered on one parent. That is the “One Family under God” advocated by True Parents.

2. In order to form a large family centered on one parent, God must be the parent, and in substance, True Parents must become the parents of humankind.

God is an invisible God. That is why True Parents need to appear and show substantially who God is.

3. Individual unification, family unification, national unification, and world unification eventually all begin with the statement that God is the parent of all mankind.

4. God is the vertical parent, and true parents are the horizontal parents.

We need to educate people in this ideology of one family under God. In the Last Days our goal is to establish one family under God in the world.

• The Kingdom of Heaven has the form of an individual who has achieved perfection of character.

• Just as the members of the human body are coordinated in horizontal relationships with each other and move as one in response to the vertical commands of the brain, in this society people will form cooperative horizontal relationships with each other and live together in tune with the vertical directions emanating from God.

• No one will harm his neighbor, since if one person were to suffer pain, everyone in this society would experience the Heart of God, who shares in that person's grief.

Father explained about the heavenly nation. Do you see this Chinese character? Heaven means two people and guk means nation.

 (Cheon Gook) : Heavenly Nation

The Kingdom of Heaven, as expressed in these Chinese characters, is the world in which two people become one (It signifies a world in which the spiritual and the physical become one, subject and object become one, man and woman become one, our mind and body become one, God and human being become one and human beings and the creation become one).

Where two (entities) become one is the Kingdom of Heaven. Without making unity between husband and wife, and between parents and children, how can we create the Kingdom of Heaven? These Chinese characters are very significant.

The Kingdom of Heaven

1. Heaven is a world like the shape of one person who has completed individuality, just like a huge organism.

2. Just as our four limbs operate in a horizontal relationship by the vertical command of the brain, the society also lives in a horizontal bond with each other by the vertical command of God.

3. Therefore, the vertical relationship with God must be regarded as our life. To do so, we must live a life that honors our conscience as if it were God.

Our conscience is very important, even though it is invisible. It is our God.

The Conscience is my 3 Great Masters

Father said:

1. The conscience comes before parents

2. The conscience comes before teacher

3. The conscience comes before God

> Absolute obedience to the conscience can subjugate the body.

How can we control our body? We need to absolutely follow our conscience.

> Heaven is a world where the conscience is absolutely obeyed.

> Therefore, we must live in absolute obedience to the words of True Parents. Otherwise, it will cast a shadow.

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: The Shortcut to Overcoming Fallen Nature

Why do we go Through Pain and Suffering?

1. A Japanese female member was blessed with a Korean husband and lived with her mother-in-law. However, this Japanese woman complained, saying that she was going through a lot of pain and suffering because of her mother-in-law. But what the Japanese woman should think about is why her mother-in-law makes her suffer. It is because the fallen nature of not embracing her mother-in-law with true love remains in her heart.

Even if the Japanese woman's mother-in-law causes her pain and suffering, there is no reason for her to suffer if she has a vessel of true love that can digest and embrace it. This Japanese woman is suffering because she still has the fallen nature of not being able to love her mother-in-law. She shouldn't think that her mother-in-law is harassing her. She has to think that God trains the Japanese wife through her mother-in-law. The Japanese wife's fallen nature is causing the inability to digest her mother-in-law, and therefore, making her suffer.

True love is a love that can embrace and digest even enemies. When someone causes us pain and suffering, even if the problem is with the other person, if we think that the other person is the problem, our heart becomes dark and we cannot get rid of the fallen nature.

Our original nature is so sensitive. Whenever we criticize somebody, our heart is not in a great mood. We do not know why, right? This is really strange. When we criticize someone, our heart becomes not so happy.

When we see the other person's problems and fallen nature, if we do not think that we have a problem and do not reflect on ourself, there is no way to get rid of our own fallen nature. If we see the other person's fallen nature, we should think that we can see the other person's fallen nature because we too have the same fallen nature.

The more we become a true person and the owner of true love, the more we try to be compassionate and embrace the other person's shortcomings, even if he has a problem. Even when parents see their children's shortcomings, they see that all the problems are caused by themselves. If we consider the other person's problems as our own, our heart will never lose.

This is really an important point.

A Japanese woman complained that she was blessed with a Korean husband and was suffering a lot of pain and suffering because of her mother-in-law. It was because the Japanese woman only saw her mother-in-law's flaws without thinking about her own fallen nature.

Even if the Japanese woman's mother-in-law causes her pain and suffering, she will have no reason to suffer if she has a vessel of true love that can digest and embrace it.

Therefore, the Japanese wife should think that God trains her through her mother-in-law. The Japanese woman should think that her fallen nature, which cannot embrace her mother-in-law, is causing her to suffer.

We need to think that way. If we think the other way, we will never have a chance to get rid of our fallen nature. That is why when we see someone’s shortcomings, we should treat them as our own shortcomings. “I have more shortcomings than the other guy.” Then we can really remove our fallen nature.

But if we blame, criticize and judge them, I am telling you, when Heavenly Father looks at us, we have more fallen nature than that guy. Our fallen nature is almost the same. That’s why when we see someone’s shortcomings, we should treat them as our own. (Otherwise,) we have more potential to create problems.

Humankind's Portion of Responsibility when Dealing with Enemies

2. Why did God give that Japanese woman such a mother-in-law? You should think that it was given to her by heaven to purify her fallen nature. So she should instead appreciate her mother-in-law. How grateful must you to be able to shed your fallen nature through your mother-in-law? Therefore, whenever you deal with your mother-in-law, you should think that the cause of pain and suffering is not in the mother-in-law, but in yourself. Only when you have this kind of thinking can your fallen nature be eradicated. The cause of pain and suffering does not lie with her mother-in-law.

Therefore, the problem of 'how to treat my mother-in-law’ is my own responsibility. It is whether you will treat your mother-in-law as an enemy or treat the problem as your own. But why blame the mother-in-law? Why do you resent God for giving you such a mother-in-law? As Jesus died on the cross, he forgave and loved his enemies. Jesus showed us the model of true love that loves our enemies. We must also inherit this model course of Jesus.

The best way to get rid of our fallen nature is to love someone who is difficult to love. If we love someone who is difficult to love, our fallen nature is removed. Anyone can love someone who is lovable.

Why did God give that Japanese woman such a mother-in-law? We should think that it was given to her by heaven to purify her fallen nature. So she should instead appreciate her mother-in-law. In our course of life loving our enemies removes our fallen nature.

We should really appreciate (our enemy). Whenever we feel that someone is our own enemy, it is really a great chance to overcome our fallen nature through loving our enemy.

We must give thanks to God who gave us the enemy that would test us to remove our fallen nature. Therefore, whenever the Japanese wife treats her mother-in-law, she should think that the cause of pain and suffering lies not in the mother-in-law, but in herself.

As Jesus died on the cross, he forgave and loved his enemies. Jesus showed us the model of true love that loves our enemies. We must also inherit this model course of Jesus.

Therefore, among our prayers and offers of sincere devotion and jeongseong, we must always pray to love our enemies.

That is why we should really love our enemies. God gave us our enemies to remove our fallen nature. That is why we need to appreciate any enemy who appears to us. Any guy who is difficult to love we need to appreciate. God asks us to overcome that. Then our character will become very round. We will be able to digest any guy and embrace and love him. Then we will come to resemble True Parents and Heavenly God, right? This is incredible guidance!

The Shortcut to Overcoming Fallen Nature

3. What is difficult for you? If there is something that you find difficult and tedious to overcome, you must go out of your way to find it and best it. That is the way to conquer the fallen nature. What kind of fallen nature am I unable to overcome? What do I hate most? You have to find out what kind of people you hate the most and overcome that. True love must be able to digest and overcome anything.

What is the most difficult thing about putting the Word into practice? I have to keep asking myself what bad habits I have. I can never grow myself if I leave my own fallen nature as it is. Fallen nature is like the dirt of our original nature. True Father said that the fallen nature we have is the dirt of our conscience. If there is dirt on your conscience, you cannot tell if you are right or if that person is right.

Faith is being challenged and overcoming. What is the challenge? It is to love what we cannot love. It is also about challenging goals that we find difficult.

One of the hardest challenges is loving someone we cannot love. And we must learn to overcome not only people but also overcome difficult tasks.

What is difficult for us? If there is something that we find difficult and tedious to overcome, we must go out of our way to find it and best it. That is the way to conquer the fallen nature. In the world of Heaven, there is no such thing as "I don’t want to it. I don’t like doing it." Everything must be digested with love.

What kind of fallen nature are we unable to overcome? What do we hate most? We have to find out what kind of people we hate the most and overcome that (hate).

True love must be able to digest and overcome anything. We can never grow ourself if we leave our own fallen nature as it is.

A life of faith is what? Challenges. As long as God is a living God, then we surely will overcome. If God is not living together with us, then there is no way to overcome. As long as we have the right motivation and mindset and try to overcome, God will help us. God helps us according to our mindset and attitude.

How to Know What Kind of Person You Are

4. I feel displeased with the other person because of the fallen nature of feeling displeased with myself. So what I feel displeased with is that my conscience is smeared with dirt and I feel displeased with the other person. If we do not know this properly, we cannot grow. You need to realize these things every day so that you can grow well. So, the course of faith is a course of getting to know oneself every day.

So how do you get to know yourself right away? You know yourself when you honestly treat people who are worse than you. If you truly make the person you need to serve be happy, you will learn about yourself. If you serve someone better than you, you will not realize who you are. This is because you can be hypocritical because you have a desire to make myself look good to my superiors or to be loved.

Fallen nature is like the dirt of our original nature. True Father said that the fallen nature we have is the dirt of our conscience. If there is dirt on our conscience, we cannot tell if we are right or if the other person is right. Therefore, we must always listen to the Word and be stimulated to examine ourself.

The reason why we hate or feel dissatisfied with others is because we have the fallen nature to feel such hatred and displeasure in ourself. So the reason why we hate and feel dissatisfied with the other person is because our conscience is smeared with dirt.

Therefore, faith is basically thinking that all problems are our own and start from there. If we turn our problems toward others, our spirit becomes hard and withered.

If we do not know this properly, we cannot grow. We need to realize these things every day so that we can grow well. So, the course of faith is a course of getting to know oneself every day. We know ourself when we honestly treat people (well) who are worse than we are. If we truly make the person we need to serve be happy, we will learn about ourself. If we try to serve the other person first, we immediately know whether we are someone to serve that person or not.

If we sincerely serve the other person, we can quickly know the level of the other person's spirit. If the other person is lower than the level of our shimjeong, we must decide to love them more. And if the opponent's level is higher than our level of heart, we should think that we should serve them well and inherit (from) them.

That is why when we serve someone, we know our level of love immediately, we know “He is my Abel,” or “He is my Cain,” and “His spiritual level is lower than mine” (or higher). (Serving) teaches us everything. When we serve someone and recognize that his level of heart is lower than ours, we need to (ask ourself) how we can raise him up through serving and attending him. When we discover that someone’s level of heart is much higher than ours, then we need to serve him more and inherit from him. We need to have this kind of attitude, and through serving with this kind of attitude, we can remove our fallen nature.

Today I spoke about “The shortcut to overcoming fallen nature.”
