Key Points
True Parents said that the fundamental solution to save humanity is globalizing and universalizing the True Family Movement and the Marriage Blessing Ceremony.
We need to organize a support group for these movements in each nation.
It is our responsibility to find and establish a John the Baptist in each field who can represent 1,000 people or 10,000 people who can be blessed and become God’s children, so that God’s will will spread quickly.
To do this we must ask, seek, and knock as in Matt. 7:7-11 – not for our individual desires and wishes but for God’s will.
In the Bible God has promised to answer us when we knock.
Faith always brings miracles and comes true.
Boasting, arrogance and insisting on one’s opinion are the fall.
To restore the fall we must be conscious that God is the absolute subject partner and assume the position of the absolute object partner – even to juniors – who serves, loves, respects and sacrifices for the sake of others, of the subject partner.
This is heavenly order.
Sin is to deny and complain about the center just as the archangel denied God’s words “do not eat,” put himself above God and took a different path centered on himself.
The problem with spiritual communicators is that, while in the beginning they seem to believe in True Parents and obey, they ultimately deny the center, boast about themselves, cause money issues, have Chapter Two problems, and create factions.
It is unwise to admire and follow spiritual communicators because in the end they pay a big price of indemnity and their factions do not end well.
True Parents have directed that any kind of spiritual activity be centered on Cheong Pyeong.
While other religions seek blessings from God, the Unification Church knows about God’s han and seeks to alleviate it and to ac complish His wishes to realize true families and return joy to God.
Since human beings created conflicts and disharmony, making har mo ny again is our responsibility which God cannot help us with. Our inability to do that yet has prolonged God’s providence.
“Hyo”(filial piety) springs up from the heart and automatically and joyfully lives for the sake of the parents. Without “Hyo” children will resist their responsibility which parents cannot force them to fulfill.
Similarly, God cannot intervene in human beings’ responsibility and force us to fulfill it.
While the farmer’s job is to choose where and when to plant seed and to plant it, God’s job is to grow it.
Similarly, while our job is to plant the word deep in our hearts and to resolve to follow it, God’s responsibility is to sprout and grow it.
If we fulfill our responsibility to deny ourself by serving, obeying God’s will, and sacrificing for the sake of the whole, then God can intervene and bear fruit.
Where there is true repentance, forgiveness will automatically follow. There is need for us to worry about forgiveness.

I just got back from Las Vegas yesterday. I hope that many amazing works will take place in the USA Cheong Shim Won in the future. I think because of the Cheong Shim Won, Las Vegas will become the “First Vegas,” not “Last Vegas.” It will be the first place, the first state to be restored by our True Parents.
Today I’d like to talk about “The Twenty-First Century and Become the Living Embodiment of the True Family Ideal” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at the 3rd International Convention of the Women's Federation for World Peace held on November 17, 1997 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC.> From now on, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification will expand the true family movement with greater vigor and accomplish the 360 million couples Marriage Blessing Ceremony by the year 2001 in three separate events. This is encouraging news, in light of the fact that today traditional values are being uprooted, young people are falling into decadence and moral degradation, and the family is being utterly destroyed. There is a saying that you reap what you sow. Adam and Eve sowed the seed by having an immature illicit love relationship. This phenomenon has since been replicated all over the world. The fruit of sinful history is the extreme immorality of young people today. Is there anything more important than saving humanity from falling into destruction?
Our efforts to globalize and universalize the true family movement and the Marriage Blessing Ceremony, which are the fundamental solutions to saving humanity, need the active support of respected leaders like you. I ask you to unite together today in each of your nations and initiate a movement for saving your nations. Let's organize a support group for the marriage Blessing and true family movement. I sincerely hope and ask that many women leaders will take a leading role in this meaningful task of restoring humanity to its original form. Please guide all people to establish true families as soon as possible so that we may enter into the age of God-centered heavenly kingship on earth and in heaven, and be able to live in the world of victory, freedom, peace and unification. May God bless you, your family, and all your endeavors. Thank you.

And True Parents emphasized that leaders with aspiration need to unite together in each of our nations and organize a support group for the marriage Blessing and true family movement to save nations.
In order to globalize and universalize the blessing movement, we need to find and establish a John the Baptist in each field. There are surely people prepared by Heaven in each field, I believe. Finding and establishing them is our portion of responsibility.
When we find and establish one John the Baptist figure who can represent 1,000 people or 10,000 people, God’s will will spread quickly.
Therefore, in order to meet the person of John the Baptist, we must ask, seek, and knock on the door (according to) the words of the Bible.
Let’s remind (ourselves) again about this Bible contents:
Matthew 7:7-11 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
This Bible verse is not about knocking on the door to seek and find my individual wish or necessities of life – what to eat, what to drink, what to wear. Those living in the age of Cheon Il Guk need to interpret this Bible verse with a different mindset than Christians or other religions (do).
The meaning of “seek” in this Bible verse means to seek and find where God’s will is and then knock on the door.
It means to seek and find where the John the Baptist figure prepared by God is and knock on the door. If you ask God for bread and fish, and He gives it to you, then how much (more of) an answer will God give us when we ask and seek for God’s will and knock on the door?
(The) words of the Bible are all promises. Old testament, New Testament, Completed Testament – the word “testament” is God’s promise of salvation to (humanity).
Since they are words God promised to people, if you absolutely believe and cling to God and ask Him to fulfill them, God will inevitably help us.
Therefore, since Jesus’ words are God’s words of promise to us, this promise means that if we believe and seek, they will surely be realized.
We need to believe (in) and cling to Jesus and say, “Jesus, your words are a promise. They are words of promise that you vowed to realize. So listen to my desires. Jesus, where is the prepared John the Baptist?”
We should seek and find and knock on the door with the same heart as a shepherd looking for the lost lamb. Seeking, finding, and knocking on the door is our responsibility, but fulfilling that promise is God’s and the Lord’s responsibility.
So let’s absolutely believe in the words, “For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” and try to put them into practice.
Believe that everything happens as you believe. Faith always brings miracles and comes true.
That is why the power of faith, of belief, is really amazing because what we believe – if we truly believe in it and believe what Jesus promised, what God and True Parents promised to us through the word – will surely come true. It is up to how much we believe. That is why when we truly believe without doubting, it will surely come true.
We need to really find the John the Baptist. When we (find) a John the Baptist, he can find 1,000, 10,000 or 20,000 people. They can become children of God. They will receive the blessing. The key is how to find the John the Baptist. When we sincerely and seriously pray about it, God definitely will answer because he (has) already promised (it).
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Human Fall 8
The Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil(2)
• The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil signifies the love of Eve.
• As a tree multiplies by its fruit, Eve should have borne good children through her godly love. Instead, she bore evil children through her satanic love.
• Eve was to reach full maturity only after going through a period of growth, in which it was possible for her to bear either good fruit or evil fruit through her love.
• This is why Eve's love is symbolized by the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and why Eve is symbolized by the tree.
• Eve was to have eaten the fruit of goodness by consummating her God-centered love. Then she would have received the essence of God's divinity and multiplied a good lineage.
• However, she ate of the fruit of evil by consummating her evil love centered on Satan. Hence, she received the essence of his evil nature and multiplied an evil lineage from which our sinful society descended.
• Accordingly, Eve's eating the fruit denotes that she consummated a satanic love relationship with the angel which bound her in blood ties to him.
Let’s study Father’s word.
Insisting upon Oneself is the Human Fall
<49-34> What is the Human Fall? It’s insisting upon oneself and boasting about oneself, seeing oneself as the perfected standard. Insisting upon oneself is the Human Fall, isn’t it? Even though they were told not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they listened to the words of the archangel who said, ‘Once you eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you can open your eyes and become like God.’ This is self-insistence. This was the motivation of the Human Fall. That’s why human beings should boast centering on God not centering on themselves in order to meet God again. You should seek for an objective position in front of the absolute subjective God. Because the absolute position is objective, you must sacrifice for others. You must understand that there is no other way than that. The start towards absolute restoration can be made through this. The person who takes this path is the one who passes through the process of absolute restoration. He or she is able to not only pass through the process of absolute restoration but is able to also progress toward the perfection of absolute restoration.
The Meaning of the Fall and the Course of Restoring it
1. Insisting upon oneself and boasting about oneself is the fall.
> The archangel insisted on his own opinions rather than on God’s will.
> The archangel boasted about himself.
> Satan told Adam and Eve that if they ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge or good and evil, they will be elevated like God.
Satan denied God and challenged God. How proud he is! Pride is the vanguard of destruction. How could the servant of human beings, the archangel, challenge God? How could he deny the central figure, the creator, God? Wow! How arrogant he is! Can you imagine? Satan is always like that.
2. How to restore the fall?
> I must be conscious that God is the absolute subject partner and I am in the position of the absolute object partner.
This is very important. What is the fall? The subject becomes the object, and the object becomes the subject. We need to know that we human beings are resultant beings and God is the causal being. We came from God. We need to know that God is the absolute subject partner, and we arethe absolute object partner. If this is upside down and in the opposite situation, that is the fall. We need to know very clearly our heavenly order.
> I should boast centering on God.
... not centering on myself.
> Therefore, whoever we deal with, we must enter the position of the object partner who completely serves.
That’s why whenever dealing with God, with True Parents or even someone who is lower than our position, with our children, the best way to secure (the relationship) is to treat everybody as our Abel. They are our subject partner, and we are their object partner. We came to serve, not to be served – like Jesus. This is the most secure way to protect ourself. It does not matter if we are continental director or national leader or sub-regional leader or the leader of some organization. What is the best way to secure our heart? To treat everybody as our subject partner and to become their object partner. What is the role of the object partner? To serve, love and respect. If we do that , we will never fall. This is the way to restore our spirit.
> The position of the object partner is one which always sacrifices for the sake of others.
The way of sacrifice is the way we can go back to God’s bosom.
> Restoration starts from the position of sacrificing.
One of the important attributes of true love is what? Sacrifice. God is the one who shows true love. He always sacrifices. Parents always sacrifice for the sake of the children. That is why true love always requires sacrifice. As the object partner, resemble True Parents’ nature, God’s nature. If our heart is always to sacrifice for the sake of others, the course of restoration begins from there.
Sin is to Deny the Center
<57-246> What is sin? It is to deny the center and the vertical and right direction. When Adam and Eve were about to fall, the archangel showed up and asked them, ‘Hey, Adam and Eve! Did God tell you to eat all the fruits in the Garden of Eden?’ ‘No, God told us to eat all the fruits except the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.’ After hearing their answer, Satan denied the center saying, ‘No, that’s not true.’ Denying the center was the origin of evil. When Adam and Eve determined not to eat the fruit and follow the right direction, the archangel said, ‘Hey, hey . It’s not like that. It goes this way.’ This is why Evil is defined as denying the center and taking a different path.
What is Sin?
What is sin? It is to deny the center.
... to deny God, deny the central figure, deny True Parents, deny True Mother’s leadership, deny our Abel. This is Satan. This is sin.
1. The archangel denied God’s words “do not eat” to Adam and Eve.
Wow! How come he denied God’s commandment. God is omnipotent and omniscient; how can Satan challenge God?
How can we challenge Mother? Deny Mother? What kind of person are we? We have a sinful blood lineage. How can we deny Mother? It does not matter if we are children or adults, blessed family or anyone (else).
2. Evil is always denying the center and taking a different path.
3. Satan always complains about the center.
4. Satan is always self-centered. The archangel put himself above God.
The Problem with Spiritual Communicators and Factions
There are different groups, many divided groups.
1. In the beginning, they seem to believe in True Parents and obey – I think that is one of their strategies – but in the end, they deny the center.
With any spiritual phenomena in the beginning they really obey and study God’s word, but in the end we come to understand that they always deny True Parents.
2. They are always self-centered. They boast about themselves.
3. Problems with money will surely arise
4. The spiritual communicators will inevitably cause a problem with Adam and Eve or create another faction.
I joined church nearly 48 years (ago). I saw many spiritual phenomena related to this kind of situation.
5. They can never cross their own lineages.
They are always working centered on their own group, their own relatives, their own blood lineage – not beyond their own lineage.
6. Spiritual communicators or factions will surely pay indemnity in the end.
7. No matter what kind of spiritual communicator, since they pay a big price in the end, do not like spiritual phenomena. The ending has not been good for spiritual groups to this day.
You can see (that) every spiritual phenomenon (ends up) not so well. That is why True Parents (have directed that) any kind of spiritual activity be centered on Cheong Pyeong. (They) do not allow any individual or group to do that. Thank God True Mother establish Cheong Shim Won. We can do (it) peacefully, comfortably because True Mother has allowed us to do that.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Things That God Cannot Do
1. What is the difference between our Unification Church and other existing religions? It is that our church knows about God’s han. So if we know about God’s sorrow and han, we cannot say to God “give me this, give me that” and ask God to do things for us and tell Him our wishes. God will believe in us. Why? Since God is also happy when we become true families, He tries to believe in us. However, God cannot help with the harmony of our families. This is a responsibility we need to fulfill. Because we are the ones who created conflict, we also have to make it harmonious. If God were able to bring about harmony for human beings, He would have already done so. Think about it. Even though Adam and Eve fell from the Garden of Eden, drove a nail into God’s heart, and made Him sorrowful, God digested it, and if He were able to fix it right then and there, why did He cast them out? God cannot do anything about human beings’ responsibility.
What is the difference between our Unification Church and other existing religions? It is that our church knows about God’s heart and han – which is bitter heart – and pain.
Our Unification Movement is always talking about God’s bitter heart since he lost his children and all things. His heart is (in) so (much) pain! No religion talks about God’s bitter and painful heart.
Therefore, our Unification Church is not like other existing religions or religions that ask for blessings; on the contrary, it is s religion that realizes God’s wishes.
Then what is God’s wish for human beings? It is for us to realize true families and return joy to God. Of course, God tries to believe in us and tries to help us with whatever.
But one thing that God cannot do is helping human beings be harmonious with one another. This is because that is human beings’ responsibility.
Since human beings created conflicts and disharmony, making harmony again is something human beings must do. If God were able to bring about harmony for human beings, He would have already resolved disharmony with Cain and Abel since the time of Adam’s family.
When Adam and Eve broke the Heavenly law, God cast them from the Garden of Eden. If God were able to digest all of that and resolve it, why was God’s providence prolonged until now?
Through history, we have come to know that God cannot do anything regarding human beings’ responsibility.
People Have a Responsibility to Be Harmonious
2. You all had children, but responsibility comes with that, and children also have responsibility as children. Can parents take up even the responsibility of their children and intervene? No, He cannot. If a child does not study well, can the parent study for them? That is the child’s responsibility. Just because they do not listen to their parents, can parents force them to listen? “hyo “(filial piety) has to come from the heart. What kind of child would be filial when ordered to be filial if it does not come from the heart? They would rather resist the parents. If you tell them “you should be filial to parents,” you become their enemy. That is why just as God cannot intervene in human beings’ responsibilities, parents also cannot intervene in their children’s responsibilities. Harmony in the family is the responsibility of people. People have a responsibility to be harmonious.
The harmony of the family is human beings’ responsibility. From this perspective, we need to clearly know that there is God’s responsibility and human beings’ responsibility. We cannot rely on God unconditionally.
Making unity between mind and body is my portion of responsibility. Making unity between husband and wife is my portion of responsibility. Making unity between parents and children is my responsibility. God cannot do it.
Even in the family, there is the parents’ responsibility and the children’s responsibility. The parents cannot take responsibility for all of the children’s responsibility and intervene. This is just like the fact that parents cannot study on behalf of their children. You cannot force children to listen when they do not want to.
“Hyo”(filial piety) springs up from your own heart and automatically and joyfully lives for the sake of the parents. But if you tell children to be filial when they do not have a heart of filial piety, they will end up resisting the parents.
Therefore, God also cannot intervene in human beings’ responsibility and force us to do things. God cannot do anything until we realize it on our own and automatically take action.
A Farmer and God’s Responsibility
3. Cultivating the field and sowing the seeds is the farmer’s responsibility. And making the seed sprout is God’s responsibility. Sowing the seed is not God’s work. No matter how fertile the land is, God cannot sow seeds. When the right time comes, God asks the farmer to sow the seeds. When human beings sow the seeds, next is God’s responsibility to bring rain, make them grow, bloom the flowers, and make it bear fruits. That is why farm work is 99% done by God and the farmer who sows the seeds has a 1% portion of responsibility. But when looking at the results, God will say “you have done it.” God does not say that He did it. He says that all the fruit of the earth was “all done by you” and gives people the right of ownership. Even though human beings do only 1% of the farm work while God does 99%, the results all belong to the farmer. Do you understand?
Sowing the seeds is the farmer’s responsibility. And making the seed sprout is God’s responsibility.
When human beings sow the seeds, next is God’s responsibility to bring rain, make them grow, to cause flowers to bloom, and make them bear fruits.
For human beings to sow the seeds means making a strong resolve to practice the words given to us from God. In other words, it means planting God’s words in the field of our heart. Then, making it bear fruit and harvesting the fruit is God’s thing.
That is why our seed is being determined – “I want to do (it)” – then God starts to work. Without determination, without commitment, God cannot help us. Our portion of responsibility centered on God is to commit our heart and mind: “Definitely I will do it.” If we have that kind of strong determination, God can do everything. Our determination and commitment is our portion of responsibility. Other things are God’s portion of responsibility. That is why when we decide to go to the Christian churches, when we have the determination to get out, our job is already over. Then God will (guide) us (about) how to talk and what to say, how to deal with Christian ministers. (We should) make up our mind, get out of our home and visit Christian churches! Then God will guide us. Why worry about what to say and all the other things? God will help us. (We need to) deny ourself. That is our portion of responsibility.
Just as in the Parable of the Sower (Mark 4:1-8), some seeds fell along the path, some fell on rocky places, and other seeds fell among thorns. But some seeds fell on good soil and bore 60 or 100 times more fruit.
When planting seeds, where it is planted is human beings’ responsibility. In planting the seeds of the word, when we plant it somewhere deep in our hearts, then sprouting the seeds and growing them is God’s portion of responsibility.
When Does God Intervene?
4. It is the same with harmony in the home. If I endure for the sake of family harmony and obey for the sake of the whole, God will do the rest of the work to make harmony on top of such foundation. Why does God work in such a way? It is because one is in a position of completely denying oneself without any thought about oneself, so God is able to intervene. If you deny yourself according to the way God wants to do something and obey well, God will do the rest. Doesn’t being obedient mean not doing things my own way? Isn’t sowing the seeds well when spring comes being obedient to God’s providence? If you sow seeds with the right timing, making the crop have a fruitful year us God’s work.
In being harmonious with the family and interpersonal relationships, in the end, it is human beings’ responsibility which God cannot even do. Then how can we be harmonious?
If we endure for the sake of family harmony and obey for the sake of the whole, God will do the rest of the work to make harmony on top of such a foundation.
Human beings’ responsibility is first serving, attending, obeying, and sacrificing for the sake of the whole. Serving, obeying, and sacrificing first is denying ourself. Since denying ourself means completely removing ourself, God is able to enter and work.
If we deny ourself according to the way God wants to do something and obey well, God will do the rest. Obeying means we do not do things in our own way but according to God’s will.
Sowing seeds well when spring comes means being obedient in God’s providence. If we sow seeds with the right timing, making the crop have a fruitful year is God’s work.
Wow! Today I have talked about God’s portion of responsibility and human’s portion of responsibility.♦
(Response to sharing) Where there is true repentance, forgiveness will automatically follow. Why can God and True Parents not forgive us? Because there is not real repentance. It is up to each of us: (Repentance) is our portion of responsibility. There is no need for us to think about forgiveness. The forgiveness part belongs to God and True Parents. Where there is true repentance, true forgiveness will follow automatically.♦
