Good and evil cannot co-exist in the ideal world

We need to repent, lament, and strive to remove ourselves from evil.
In fallen man there is a lamentable contradiction and struggle between mind and body from which the messiah can rescue us.
The relationship between mother and child may be strained because of a heartistic distance between them during the child’s growth process, a distance caused by hurt or disappointment or the child’s stubbornness.
Since the human being’s original nature has an attribute of filial piety that seeks to obey one’s parents, if the mother and child have a heartistic relationship, that child would not be able to act apart from its mother and violate her heart.
Parents should respect and serve their children with affection and filial piety and not be controlling or strict and not try to educate them. Such attendance will bring children to natural submission.
If the relationship between God and the parents improves, God will help those children who have become distant to return. Heavenly fortune brings children who leave home, back again.
We need to create an environment in which God can influence the children through the parents’ jeongseong, hyojeong and love..
Secondly, parents must witness to many, raise the quality of their love and accumulate the merits and results of love. Then heavenly fortune can influence their wayward children.
The high quality of love, hyojeong and jeongseong of one tribal messiah can significantly impact his children, descendants, ancestors, tribe and even the world.

Today I’d like to talk about “The Twenty-First Century and Become the Living Embodiment of the True Family Ideal” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at the 3rd International Convention of the Women's Federation for World Peace held on November 17, 1997 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC.> In order to make one peaceful world, my husband and I have poured ourselves into various efforts. Let me give a few examples. We are working to establish an ideal, worldwide academic institution, like a UN university. We must transcend the barriers of race, religion and language to complete the foundation for the future world. To exchange knowledge globally, we need a university system for distance learning. We also need to develop a unified medical science. We need not only to cure the diseases of the body caused by the Fall, but also to end the conflict between Orient and Occident through harmonizing eastern and western culture. By unifying eastern and western medicine, we can cure formerly incurable diseases, such as AIDS. Already these projects are being implemented at the University of Bridgeport and Sun Moon University.
We have also created The Washington Times and other newspapers to cover the entire western hemisphere, and we are expanding this media foundation into 185 countries to help all the people of the world learn from each other and cooperate as one. In the future, please establish a family tradition of offering filial piety to your parents, becoming a loyal citizen before the nation, becoming a saint before the world, and becoming a divine son or daughter before God. Whoever can stand without shame before the family, nation, world and heaven and earth will be protected at the center of the cosmos and can then realize a family that receives God's highest love. The marriage Blessing is the beginning of this beautiful family tradition.
True Parents’ Vision and Efforts for Creating God’s Peaceful World
1. Establishing an ideal, worldwide academic institution like a UN university that transcends the barriers of race, religion, borders, and language to complete the foundation for the future world
2. Establishing a university system for distance learning to exchange knowledge globally.
3. Not only curing the diseases of the body but also developing a unified medical science to end the conflict between Orient and Occident through harmonizing eastern and western culture.
4. Expanding the media foundation like The Washington Times to 185 countries to help all the people of the world learn from each other and cooperate as one.
5. Showing a model course(by which) anyone can become filial sons and daughters in the family, patriots in the nation, saints in the world, and divine sons and daughters before God, and
6. Becoming people who receive the protection of heavenly fortune through the gates of the Blessing and then realizing a family that receives God's highest love.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Human Fall 7
The Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil(1)
• The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil signifies the love of Eve.
• As a tree multiplies by its fruit, Eve should have borne good children through her godly love. Instead, she bore evil children through her satanic love.
• Eve was to reach full maturity only after going through a period of growth, in which it was possible for her to bear either good fruit or evil fruit through her love.
• This is why Eve's love is symbolized by the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and why Eve is symbolized by the tree.
• Eve was to have eaten the fruit of goodness by consummating her God-centered love. Then she would have received the essence of God's divinity and multiplied a good lineage.
• However, she ate of the fruit of evil by consummating her evil love centered on Satan. Hence, she received the essence of his evil nature and multiplied an evil lineage from which our sinful society descended.
• Accordingly, Eve's eating the fruit denotes that she consummated a satanic love relationship with the angel which bound her in blood ties to him.
Let’s study Father’s word.
A Materialistic Interpretation That the Human Fall was Caused by Eating the Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil
<41-292> According to Christianity, the Human Fall was caused by eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That interpretation is based on materialism. There is no difference between the interpretation that the spirit fell after eating a material thing and the theory of communism that spirit comes from matter. Did spiritual beings fall after eating a material thing? Don’t let them say such a silly thing! What unscientific rascals they are! Now is the time for everything to be revealed. Can spiritual beings fall after eating a material thing? It makes sense if a material thing falls due to spiritual beings. However, it doesn’t make any sense that spiritual beings fell due to a material thing. It is materialism when we say that spiritual beings exist among materials things.
(Saying) that the fall was caused by eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil is an interpretation based on materialism. There is no difference between the interpretation that the spirit fell after eating a material thing and the theory of communism that spirit comes from matter.
One cannot spiritually fall after eating a material thing. This is unscientific. It makes sense if a material thing falls due to spiritual beings, but it doesn’t make any sense that spiritual beings fell due to a material thing.
Therefore, eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and falling is a materialistic interpretation. Materialism denies God. If you affirm materialism, it brings us to a conclusion that human beings are no better than material things without a spirit, and it treats people’s worth as only material.
This becomes a very serious problem.
You Should Be Able to Oppose Wrong Things
<49-34>How did Adam and Eve treat God in the Garden of Eden? When Satan approached and whispered, ‘Hey, Did God tell you not to eat all the fruits in the Garden of Eden?’ they answered, ‘No, only the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is prohibited to be eaten.’ And again when Satan came to them and said, ‘That was prohibited so you would not open your eyes and become like God.’ Eve was seduced by the lies of Satan replying, ‘Is that so?’ It should not have been like that. There should not have been any possibility for any incident to happen. When Eve was asked like that she should have shouted, ‘What? You bastard!’ Adam and Eve should have stood in the subjective position so that they were able to oppose wrong things all the time. But they talked in whispers and caused the problem. It cannot be forgiven.
When Adam and Eve were tempted by the archangel in the Garden of Eden, from the position of God’s children, they should have severely shouted and scolded the archangel in the servant’s position. It is a principle that a person with goodness should resist evil.
“I am a son of God, a daughter of God. You are a servant. How can you tempt me? How can you deny God’s word?” You need to scold the archangel.
Good and evil cannot be compromised. Good and evil are like water and oil. Good and evil cannot co-exist. That is why we need to get rid of evil.
We said that we can forgive the sinner who committed a sin, but we cannot forgive the sin itself. This is because that sin itself is evil. Good and evil cannot co-exist in the ideal world. There can be no ideal world where good and evil co-exist at the same time. Since good and evil become contradictory to each other, there will always be struggle and battles between them.
A righteous person will always resist unrighteousness when he see it. And he laments over evil. St. Paul struggled and lamented over the fight between good and evil inside himself. We also need such lamentation like St. Paul in order to go on the path of goodness.
We need to repent, lament, and strive to remove ourselves from our parent body of good and evil. When Adam and Eve were tempted by the archangel, there should have been resistance to evil. In cutting off evil, they should have had the awareness of striving to remove evil and lamentation over that.
I really love St. Paul. He directly confessed to his struggle, and declared what kind of person he is.
Book of Romans 7:22 With my whole heart I agree with the Law of God. 23 But in every part of me I discover something fighting against my mind, and it makes me a prisoner of sin that controls everything I do.
Even though he was St. Paul, intellectually very high and emotionally, heartistically connected to Jesus, one of his struggles was what? The contradiction (in himself). His mind and body were fighting each other. He struggled with this and said:
7:24 What a miserable person I am.
He really sighed and was frustrated. Then he said:
7:24 Who will rescue me from this body that is doomed to die? 25 Thank God! Jesus Christ will rescue me.
So, (if) your mind and body and soul are connected to Heavenly Parent, (you have) a kind of alignment to Jesus, to the messiah, to Heavenly Parent. This is the only way to be saved. Then he said:
So with my mind I serve the Law of God, although my selfish desires make me serve the law of sin.
Wow! Our own self has this kind of contradiction!
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Important Things When Educating Children
The Reason the Parent-Child Relationship is Not Good
1. Even though a child has already grown up, the reason their relationship with their mother is not good is because when they were young, the affection with the mother was already cut off. It is because there were things that were displeasingly done to the child by the mother, or the child was so stubborn that they had often acted centered on themselves. When the child was young, if they became very attached to their mother and had an inseparable heartistic relationship, the child would not be able to act without the mother. Ultimately, all problems arise because there is a heartistic distance. Children who deeply experienced their mother’s love and were very close to her can never act as they please. A child cannot violate their mother’s heart. A child whose heart was connected with their mother cannot act as they please centered on themselves. The reason a child resists or acts as they please is because the parents have already caused them a lot of pain and were hard on them.
The reason the relationship between mother and child is not good is because there was a heartistic distance between them during the child’s growth process. Then why do heartistic problems arise?
First, it is because the parents disappointed the child or hurt them. Next, it is because the child was stubborn or had strong assertion, so they behaved centered on themselves a lot.
If parents and child had an inseparable relationship, the child would never be able to act in a way that does not bring the parents joy.
Since all human beings’ original nature has an attribute of filial piety that seeks to obey their parents, if the mother and child have a heartistic relationship, that child would not be able to act apart from its mother and he could never violate her heart.
The main cause of a child resisting or acting as he pleases is because the parents have already caused him a lot of pain and were hard on him. Of course, there are many other causes besides that.
Important Things When Educating Children
2. I have seen one child of a family become determined to leave their home and become independent when they turned 18 years old. They were a 2nd generation of a blessed family, but because the mother intervened a lot, they wanted to escape their mother’s interferences and become independent. When parents educate their children, the important thing is that they should not intervene with their child too much. Rather, the parents should treat their children well. Parents have to respect their children. Parents have to serve their children. Then, the parents and child will become heartistically closer. You cannot form a heartistic relationship just by intervening. When children are young, most parents have expectations to raise their children with faith, so they intervene excessively. But in the end, the relationship between the parents and child becomes severed. That is why True Father tells us not to try to educate children but to serve them. Just as parents show filial piety to their own parents, when parents show filial piety to the child, the child will never be able to forget them for the rest of their life.
When parents educate their children, the important thing is that they should not intervene with their children too much. On the contrary, parents should treat their children well, respect them – even though they are their children – and serve them. Then, the parents and child will become heartistically closer.
In order for the parents and child to have affection for each other and form a heartistic, inseparable relationship, the parents need to serve and attend their child. Do not try to intervene or control them. Just serve them. There is no one who hates being served. If you serve others without telling, you can bring them to natural submission.
When children are young, most parents have expectations to raise their children with faith, so they intervene excessively. But in the end, what is the outcome? The relationship between the parents and child becomes severed.
Then what should we do? Just as Father said, we shouldn’t try to educate them but serve and attend them. Rather, we parents should think that “Our children are like our parents, whom we should serve, and we should serve them with all of our filial heart.” When parents are filial to their own child, the child will never be able to forget those parents for the rest of their life.
Everybody treats their children as “my children.” (They feel their children) have nothing to do with God’s children, nothing to do with the messiah’s children.
How Do You Restore Children?
3. If a blessed child leaves their parent’s side and lives a life unrelated to God and the Principle, how would you restore them? Just because we said that parents should not intervene with them, can we just leave them be? What must we do to find the best way? According to True Father’s words, if the relationship with God and the mother improves, God will help those children return. He said that heavenly fortune makes children who leave home come back again. It is difficult for mothers to directly intervene with their children and educate them to make them come back. But True Father said that one way is when the mother’s relationship with God becomes better, heavenly fortune will influence the children and even the descendants to that extent that that relationship becomes better. That is why the parents need to offer a lot of jeongseong that even God cannot help but be moved by.
How to Make Heavenly Fortune Come to You
4. In order to restore the children that have gone out to the secular world, you must witness to many nonbelievers of the secular world and raise the quality of your love. When the parents’ quality of life is raised, heavenly fortune will surely come to that family. And that heavenly fortune will ultimately influence even the children and descendants. Doesn’t True Father say that when descendants on earth accumulate a lot of merit and have many results of love, according to that, their ancestors also receive benefits and they follow suit and the quality of their love raises, too, and they move to a position a level higher? Similarly, just because your child has gone out to the secular world, do not despair, sigh, and lament but accumulate merits of love that even God cannot help but bless you. When parents accumulate merits in that way and the children's quality of love is raised, can God simply abandon His children? In the end, heavenly fortune automatically goes down to your children and comes back. Furthermore, now that we are living in the age of love, everything must be returned to the enclosures of God’s providence.
How do we restore children who have become distant from the Will? According to True Father’s words, if the relationship with God and the parents improves, God will help those children return. Heavenly fortune makes children who leave home come back again.
This is a very important point.
First, for the sake of children who have become distant from God and His will, parents should not intervene with their child, educate them, or make them come back. We need to first create an environment in which God can work together.
Those who have already left home or are distant, to have them come back is not a simple matter, right? That is why what we are talking about here is very important. You need to create the environment in which God can work together (with you and your children).
One way is that heavenly fortune will influence the children and even the descendants to that extent that that relationship between the parent and God becomes better.
Therefore, parents need to offer a lot of jeongseong that even God cannot help but be moved by. That is why we need to create an environment in which God can influence the children through the parents’ jeongseong.
The second important thing is that parents must witness to many nonbelievers of the secular world and raise the quality of our love.
When the parents’ quality of life is raised, heavenly fortune will surely come to that family. And that heavenly fortune will ultimately influence even the children and descendants.
True Father said that when descendants on earth accumulate a lot of merit and have many results of love, according to that, their ancestors also receive benefits, they follow suit and the quality of their love (is) raised, too. They (then) move to a position a level higher.
Today these are really important things that I need to remind myself of.
How can we bring our children, our second generation and third generation, back to God’s bosom? Of course, many parents are praying and (offering) Jeongseong, but the most important thing is that you need to upgrade your quality of love and hyojeong, filial heart. You need to upgrade your level of jeongseong. When you are recognized by God because of your jeongseong contribution, because you have grown up so much and reached a certain level, then you will influence the environment and your children, family, descendants, even your ancestors so much.
That is why Father says when he looks at us, “Wow! Your ancestors are very good. That is why you joined the Unification Church.” We are the ones who (receive) a lot of benefit from our ancestors because of their contribution. One who contributes a lot for the sake of God’s will, completely changes the environment. (As a result) all (those) blessings go to our family members, our children, our relatives, our descendants and even influence our ancestors.
Look at Jesus, just one guy 2,000 years ago. His quality of love was incredible! His true love is really true love. His quality of love is really true love. How much he influenced his descendants! Over the past 2,000 years, how big an impact the quality of Jesus’ love had!
Even one guy ... Abraham Lincoln’s contribution, how many American people received the benefit (from it)? Because of one righteous leader’s leadership, devotion and jeongseong, how much he influenced the entire tribe, nation and world!
For example, you are a tribal messiah. Because of the quality of your jeongseong, because of your quality of love and hyojeong, because you (have) upgraded your love, how much you can change the environment!
What is the best way to bring back our children who have left or are distant? We need to have a lot of jeongseong conditions and at the same time really upgrade our quality of love. In the end all (these) great results go to our children and descendants.
I really love that!
Just because your child has gone out to the secular world, do not despair, sigh, and lament but accumulate merits of love (for which) even God cannot help but bless you. Then God cannot simply abandon His children, right?
Today we learned important things about children’s education, how to raise them. This is very important and fundamental guidance.
