Key Points
John the Baptist was supposed to have helped Jesus reach the religious leadership of Israel. Then the religion of Judaism, in the position of Abel, and the nation of Israel, in the position of Cain, would have united with Jesus. This Cain-Abel unity would have laid the foundation for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and the Kingdom of Heaven.
In less than seven years Jesus’ teachings would have expanded rapidly to the worldwide level, winning Asia and Rome to his side before he reached the age of forty.
Jesus had to die on the cross because Jesus’ mother and father failed to protect Jesus, John denied that he was Elijah and doubted Jesus, and Jesus’ 12 disciples did not become one with him.
According to Father, if just 3 of his disciples had become one in heart with Jesus, he could have avoided the way of the cross.
The important thing for us today is to find John the Baptist.
There are always three stages: faith, hope and love.
One who does not love his father and mother with a filial heart is never successful in the end.
The main attributes of absolute sex are blood lineage, life and love.
Absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience are centered on the reproductive organs.
TF: Absolute sex is our fundamental origin.
A person's spiritual and moral authority, dignity and character come from dominion of sex.
With such dominion you will have the qualifications to have dominion over all things.
The four great desires of human beings for sleep, food, material and sex are all connected to each other. Difficulty controlling one of them often means difficulty in controlling the others.
If you treat yourself and act as belonging to God, you will definitely be happy.
The next step in happiness is to value the relationships with your parents, teachers, brothers and sisters, and Cain and Abel as much as you value your own life, consulting with them and following their advice.
Through the prophets and the saints, God has been trying to educate people to discern good and evil.
If you accept the warnings and advice from parents and teachers around you and practice it, you will have no regrets about your youth.
In your life of faith, know that you belong to God, treat each moment as eternity, live enthusiastically with a voluntary and filial heart and with all your heart, mind and soul. Accept that God only gives you tasks you can fulfill. Value the relationships with the people closest to you, and know that if your attitude is right, God can guide you with dreams.

(Response to sharing) I think we need to go back to God’s word. Otherwise, how can we inspire (people). Yesterday I had a chance to have a meal with Dr. and Alexa Ward’s couple. I was so inspired to hear Dr. Ward talking about reading the EDP aloud. He (said he) received many inspirations. In order to create a really strong foundation in our movement, the basic point is really important: How much do we appreciate and deal properly with God’s word. That can provide a strong foundation to develop our movement for the future.♦
I miss all of you. More and more I have a longing heart. If possible, I would like to meet each one of you in person. That is my wish.
Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of my arrival in America, and we had a celebration together with some key leaders at Belvedere Main House. Dr. Walsh’s couple, Dr. Ward’s couple, Taj Hamad, Dr. Rouse and many key leaders came and joined together.
We had a cake cutting and then took turns sharing our testimonials. It was a very beautiful time. Thank you, East Garden staff, for preparing nice food and a cake for us. I really appreciate all of you.
We took a group photo. Especially when I saw Dr. Shimmiyo’s couple in person the first time since I came to America, I was so happy to see them. When I see their faces, they look so young! What a beautiful couple! Thank you to other brothers and sisters who came together and joined us.
Today I’d like to talk about “God, Women and World Peace” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This was an invitational address delivered on September 7, 1993 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York> John was the elder. He had a great following and was widely respected. He described his own role by saying, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, and 'Make straight the way of the Lord,' as the prophet Isaiah said.” (John 1:23) Also, Jesus explained to his disciples that the ministry of John was the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy that says, “I will send you the prophet Elijah before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.” (Mal. 4:5)
However did John fulfill his responsibility in God's providence? The Gospel of Luke tells us that John came “with the spirit and power of Elijah.” (Luke 1:17) John, however, denied that he was Elijah and doubted that Jesus was the Messiah, even after he had received a clear revelation at the Jordan River at the time of Jesus' baptism.
John was a well-respected religious figure, while Jesus was seen as only the illegitimate son of a poor carpenter. Without the support of John, it was unlikely the Jewish people would believe in and follow Jesus. Alone, Jesus undertook the difficult path of self-proclamation. John the Baptist was supposed to have helped Jesus reach the religious leadership of Israel. If John had fulfilled his role, then the religion of Judaism, in the position of Abel, and the nation of Israel, in the position of Cain, could have united with Jesus. This Cain-Abel unity would have laid the foundation for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Jesus would have stood as the True Father of humanity, and his Bride would have stood as the True Mother. In less than seven years his teachings would have expanded rapidly to the worldwide level, winning Asia and Rome to his side before he reached the age of forty. Eventually, as True Parents, Jesus and his Bride would have achieved the individual heavenly kingdom, family heavenly kingdom, clan heavenly kingdom and national heavenly kingdom.
The first reason Jesus had no choice but to die on the cross was because Jesus’ mother and father, Mary and Joseph, failed to protect Jesus.
The second reason was that John denied that he was Elijah and doubted that Jesus was the Messiah, even after he had received a clear revelation at the Jordan River at the time of Jesus' baptism.
Through the Principle, we are well aware about the tremendous responsibility of John the Baptist, who was prepared for the path that was laid ahead of Jesus, who came to end God’s 4,000 year history of the Providence of Restoration.
In proportion to John the Baptist’s responsibility, we have also come to know through the Bible how great Heaven’s punishment and wrath was when he failed to fulfill his responsibility. When a prepared person fails to fulfill their responsibility, it will surely establish conditions that Satan can claim.
When John the Baptist said that it was wrong for King Herod to take Herodias, the wife of his younger brother Philip, he was caught by King Herod, bound in chains, imprisoned, and beheaded.
Why did John the Baptist die so suddenly and miserably? Beheaded! Can you imagine? God’s 4,000 years history just went away when John denied Jesus, the messiah. How could Jesus stand? That is why when a prepared guy cannot fulfill his responsibility, this gives Satan a chance to claim. This is a problem. Can you imagine?
God prepared John the Baptist. It took 4,000 years to welcome Jesus, the messiah, but (John) could not fulfill his portion of responsibility and denied his mission. What happened? That made a condition for Satan to claim his neck. Can you imagine how miserably he died.
Just look at how the prepared John the Baptist was punished when he failed to fulfill his responsibility. Because he did not fulfill his responsibility, Jesus had to go on the cross in the end and God’s providence was prolonged for another 2,000 years. Oh my God!
The third reason Jesus died on the cross was because Jesus’ 12 disciples did not become one with him. Before Jesus went to the cross, he offered his life and death in the Garden of Gethsemane and prayed. Before he died, he was desperate. When he came to see his disciples sleeping a second and a third time, he had no choice but to give up.
His disciples continued to sleep without understanding Jesus’ will. How much Jesus’ heart was in pain! No one understood Jesus’ heart. His family was like that. John the Baptist was like that. Even though he (performed) so many miracles and signs, (his disciples) just believed in Jesus in an external way. His three and twelve disciples could not understand Jesus’ internal heart.
In his last moment, he went to Gethsemane to pray all night. He did not want to die. “Heavenly God, if possible I want to survive! I want to fulfill your will, Heavenly Father!” But without an earthly foundation, he could not do that.
According to Father, if just 3 of his disciples had become one in heart with Jesus, he could have avoided the way of the cross.
If John had fulfilled his role, then the religion of Judaism, in the position of Abel, and the nation of Israel, in the position of Cain, could have united with Jesus.
In less than seven years his teachings would have expanded rapidly to the worldwide level, winning Asia and Rome to his side before he reached the age of forty.
God had prepared everything. The important thing is how we can find John the Baptist. This is the key point. Why did True Father have to go through so much suffering? Why did he need to go to Heungnam Prison? Because the Christian foundation failed to welcome True Parents. It became a complete naught, became zero. He needed to begin from the bottom of the bottom. Satan had a chance to claim (him).
That is why he needed to pay the indemnity on behalf of John the Baptist and went to the bottom of hell which is Heungnam Prison. He needed to start from there. Oh, my God!
That is why True Mother talks about the foundation of the environment. What is the purpose of the foundation of the environment? To find the John the Baptist. That is why the key is to find the John the Baptist and welcome the messiah.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Fall - 4. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil
• God did not create Adam to be alone; He also created Eve to be Adam's spouse.
• Just as there was a tree in the Garden of Eden which symbolized a perfect man, there should also have been a tree which represented a woman who has fully realized the ideal of creation.
• Standing beside the tree of life, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil mentioned in Gen. 2:9 was this tree.
• The tree of the knowledge of good and evil represents the ideal woman, perfected Eve.
• The Bible refers to Jesus using the metaphors of a vine (John 15:5) and a branch (Isa. 11:1). Likewise, to give us a hint about the secret of the human Fall, God provided the symbolism of two trees to represent perfected Adam and Eve.
Father said:
<304-162> “Therefore in order for unification movement members to return to the Garden of Eden to be united with God, there must be absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience centering on that organ. It means that God and humankind are to be united in that organ.”
Absolute faith: Here Father speaks about, “absolute faith.” Adam and Eve (should have) absolutely believed in God’s word. God said, “Do not eat the fruit. If you eat it, you will surely die.” They needed to believe in God’s word. Adam and Eve could not believe in God’s word. Instead, they listened to Satan’s word more than to God’s word. That was the problem.
That is why our faith begins from faith, not just simple faith, but absolute faith. What Father said, what Mother said, what the Divine Principle says, we completely believe. This word, this Principle, did not come from the human brain; it came from God. How much do I believe in God’s word? If you believe in God’s word, you can see incredible hope. No hope means lack of faith. If you believe that God exists, then God does exist; you can see hope. Where there is faith, there is hope, there is vision, there is a way all the time.
No hope, no desire, means no faith. You do not believe in God; you do not believe in God’s word; you are not inspired by God’s word.
That’s why everything begins from faith. Where there is faith, there is hope. Where there is hope, wow! “God is alive! God is a living God! I am a child of God!” Then my heart wells up. (Then I) invest and love everything for God, everything for the sake of God’s will.
That’s why there are always three stages: faith, hope and love. Everything begins from faith.
Why do you have no power? Lack of faith. Why do you have no vision? Lack of faith. There is no God in your heart.
Absolute love: you need to absolutely love God more than anything and absolutely serve God with filial heart.
Adam and Eve needed to love God more than the archangel or anything else. They needed to have absolute alignment toward God.
We need to love God and True Parents more than anything else. We need to love our own parents more than anything else.
These days our young generations, even blessed children, do not respect their own father and mother. You need to love God and True Parents and your own parents. I am telling you, one who does not love his father and mother are never successful no matter what you do. Even though it may look as if at the moment you re successful, in the end (there will be) disaster. No filial piety does not make sense.
Absolute obedience: you need to absolutely obey God’s Word.
Obedience is beyond faith and love.
Absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience are none other than words centered on the reproductive organs which is absolute sex.
That is why the absolute sex Principle is very powerful. My lineage comes from there. So does my life. I come from my father and mother. That is the blood lineage, right? That is love and life, right?
Human beings come from where? God’s absolute sex. The main attributes of absolute sex are what? Blood lineage, life and love. That is why Father says that absolute sex is our fundamental origin. If you ignore your reproductive organs, which are absolute sex, everything goes away.
Let’s study Father’s word.
You Must Be Able to Admire Your Sexual Organ by Dominating it.
<304-270> Who knew that humanity has perished like this. It is dreadful. It is the most dangerous dynamite. Do you know what I mean?-Yes. That’s why I am telling you whenever you go to a restroom, like every three hours for a day makes 8 times you must talk to your sexual organ ‘Hey, you! The head of snake. Come out’( People laugh). If it is the real sexual organ of yours, it is a sacred one. You must admire your sexual organ not to be seduced by any beautiful woman with all kinds of temptations. It is admiration, not a respectful bow. It should be admiration. The admiration means something much stronger than a bow and obedience.
Self-Dominion Is the Dominion of the Sexual Organ
<304-270> Rev. Moon is well trained by God. If any one touches the organ of love of mine, I do not care. Can you endure three-hours without blinking your eyes and looking at someone? Without this kind of training, it’s not easy for you to become God’s sons and daughters. That’s why I tell you to perfect the self-dominion before you wish the dominion over the universe. It’s about the dominion of the sexual organ
According to True Father, all people can have dominion over their own love organs, so we should reach the point of worshiping our own love organs.
Have you reached the level of worshiping your own love organ? Or are you still dominated by your physical desires? Those who have reached the level of worshiping their love organs are people who have self-dominion. Wherever such people go, they are respected by the spirit world and they have spiritual authority.
Those who control sexual desires is respected by the spiritual world. They have spiritual authority and dignity. Spiritual dignity comes from controlling sexual desires.
Depending on the degree of how much you dominate your love organ, there will be spiritual authority. A person's moral authority and character come from dominion of sex. If you have dominion over the love organs, ultimately, human beings will be perfected, and you will have the qualifications to have dominion over all things.
This is because human beings’ sexual organs represent all of heaven and earth and all things. And the 4 great desires of human beings, that is, desire for sleep, desire for food, desire for material, and desire for sex, are all connected to each other.
For example, for people who cannot control eating, controlling desires for sex will also be difficult. Also, people who cannot control desires for material gain will also have difficulty controlling sex. And people who cannot control sex have difficulty controlling material desires and food desires. But that doesn’t mean this is so for everybody. It means that the 4 great desires are all connected to each other.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Happiness and Unhappiness Depend on How You Treat Yourself.
1. Whether a person becomes happy or unhappy depends on how he treats himself. Parents try to keep their children from repeating the wrong way of life, and teachers want their students to take a more honorable path than they did. God is working hard in every way to make humans on this earth live as happy people that have never been seen before in history. Through the prophets and the saints, God is trying to educate people to discern good and evil and distinguish good and bad paths. You, too, have gone through a lot of twists and turns and also suffered a lot of wounds while walking the course of your life for 30, 40, or 50 years. Also, there were times when you were proud in the past, but there were also times when you were ashamed. Then you think about what you should have done that time.
Whether a person becomes happy or unhappy depends on how he treats himself. If you treat yourself and act as belonging to God, you will definitely be happy. But if you treat yourself as your own, you will definitely be unhappy.
The next stage is forming good relationships with the closest people around you. You need to value the relationships with your parents, teachers, brothers and sisters, and Cain and Abel as much as you value your own life. If you ignore these relationships and act like a cock of the walk (which is someone who dominates others within a group), you will always be unhappy.
Since my own parents, teachers, or Abel always try to protect me and nurture me, I always need to consult with them and follow their advice.
Most central figures failed. Where did they fail? In (their relationship with) the closest people. Noah and his wife, even Jesus’ family. All families have (this) problem.(?)
(We should) create beautiful unity with the closest person. If we ignore your parents, teachers and Abel, then where can you find God?
Since my own parents, teachers and Abels always tried to protect and nurture me, I always needed to consult with them and follow their advice.
God is working so hard in every way to make humans on this earth live as happy people that have never been seen before in history. Through the prophets and the saints, God is trying to educate people to discern good and evil and distinguish good and bad paths.
Many People Regret the Past
2. I start to think that if I had received the warnings and advice from parents and teachers around me in advance so that I would not think and act wrongly, and if I had followed the cautions and advice they gave me, I would not have become like this. When you guide your juniors of faith, you will see that a lot of people regret their youth. We see some who were faithless in middle school or high school, so when they arrived at the present time, they regretted their carelessness in the past. They regret that they had been unable to spend that time well and think that they would not have faced such a heavy present if they had spent that time better. They reflect that if they spend the present time more reverently and wholeheartedly, they will have no regrets in their heart today.
Therefore, if I accept the warnings and advice from parents and teachers around me in advance and then I put those warning and advice given to me into practice, in the end, I will not live a life of making mistakes. When I think, decide, and act on my own, it's going to be a disaster.
When you guide your juniors of faith, you will see that a lot of people regret their youth. Therefore, we need to treat our time reverently and wholeheartedly. Then we will reflect that we have no regrets in our hearts.
That is why you need to really listen to what your parents are saying, what your senior brothers and sisters are saying, actually for your sake, not just for parents or teachers (own sake) but for your sake. That’s why I think if I had listened better in the past to my Abels’, my parents’ and my senior brothers and sisters’ advice, maybe my life would be much better than now.
How to Live a Life with No Regrets
3. As people live their lives, how many regrets must they have as they lived through their 40s, 50s, and 60s? They wish they hadn't worried their parents when they were a student, they think it would have been better if they had not clash with their siblings, and they wish they had been more patient before. They reflect on their life in the past, including regrets that it would have been better if they worked harder even though they did not know properly that time. Then, the question would be what they should have done to lead a life with no regrets. That is why older people teach you to be loyal to reality, to not miss the moment, live with all your heart, to not be reluctant, live more actively, live with all your heart, all your will and all your soul, to not make your parents worry, and to not ask Heaven to do things that He can't do. They teach that Heaven asks you to do things you can do from time to time, so live to the fullest in what you can do. If you follow all these things, there will always be joy on your path.
The Wish of God, Parents, or Teachers for Me is for My Sake
4. The subject wishes for you to follow when they say not to do this and to do that. There are things my parents wish for me and things my teachers wish for me, but I have to live that way, not just because of their wishes, but for my sake. In other words, parents do not say to do this and that because of themselves, but because of me. It was because of Adam and Eve that God taught them that if they do this, they will reach the goal of true life, and if they do that, they will have anxiety and pain and become unhappy. We grow as we receive lots of education from our elders, dreams from the spirit world, and guidance from our ancestors who have come and gone. In an environment where there is no Abel who teaches me to do this or that on earth, Heaven teaches me in a dream.
Basic Rules of Our Life of Faith
1. Know myself as belonging to God.
This is a fundamental point. We always need to think I belong to God, I am a child of God. God is my parent. When you remember this point, your life becomes a new life. A life of faith begins here. I treat myself as God’s belonging, as God’s son or daughter. I treat God as my own parent.
2. Be faithful in reality and know each moment as eternity.
I love these words. Each second, each minute, each moment is connected to eternity. That’s why you should not lose time. Each moment is connected to eternity.
3. Do not live reluctantly but live more enthusiastically with a voluntary heart .
Not by force. You need to know how to (stimulate) your heart (and cause your) heart (to) well up) positively with passion. Then your life will really become very exciting.
4. Always live with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul, centered on your heart.
Heart is the final stage. What does heart mean? Really create joy and happiness, right? Great impact. The world of heart is longing and happiness and joy; everything (is) there.
5. Do not always cause parents to worry but live with all my filial heart.
How much do you love God? How much of a filial heart do you have toward God? If you have that kind of vertical alignment centering on a filial heart, you can love your spouse, your husband and wife, your children, your neighbor, your nation ... you can apply it anywhere. That’s why vertical alignment centered on vertical heart is a fundamental issue. If you have a filial heart toward your own parents, this heart will connect to God. You can love God in such a way. You can love your own brothers and sisters in such a way. That is why vertical alignment centering on filial heart is a key issue.
6. God never asks me to do something I cannot do.
If God asks me to do something, that means I can do it. Definitely I can do it. He would never give me an impossible goal. He always gives me (what) I can do. Why do you have negative thinking? Why are you complaining? “I cannot do it. I am not enough. I am a foolish guy. I cannot do it.” That just ignores God. He never gives me an impossible goal. He never asks me to do something I cannot do.
> So, do the things that I can do to the best of my ability.
> Think of the tasks given to me as God’s will, which He gives to me.
“What you gave me to do is useless; I am just wasting my time. I don’t like this.” Do not think like that. Any responsibility wherever you are working, (even if) you are missing someone, (if) you are working on something, you need to think, “This is God’s will. God gave this to me, so I need to be faithful to my work with people.”
7. Value the relationships with the people closest to me like life.
These relationships are really important. Your neighbor. I am living here with Taka, Inguk, Yam; they are the closest to me. (I need to) treat them as my life. When you go home, (you need to) treat y our wife and children as my life.
Always meet God through relationships.
8. If my attitude is right, I will be taught with dreams through the spirit world.
As long as I have the right attitude, God will always show (me) my future: “You need to do this, to do that. You know what to do.” Very clear. The important thing is whether I have the right or the wrong attitude. If you have the right attitude, then it is the time for God to intervene (with) you, but if you have the wrong attitude, it is the time for Satan to come to me and intervene with me. It is up to me. To gain happiness or unhappiness is up to me.
Today we have learned basic rules for our life of faith.
(Testimony Karen Ishiguro with Andreas Pock, Matching testimony, San Francisco Bay Area)♦
(Response to sharing) You know the Bible story about the prodigal son. When he came back home, his father embraced him. This prodigal son recovered his heart and (re)created a relationship with his father. Then everything was forgiven, his past mistakes, everything.
We belong to God. If we realize that, no matter what, I belong to God and he belongs to me, with this kind of heartistic relationship all the past problems, all the terrible things can be forgiven. (The key is) to build the relationship between God and me. It begins with “God belongs to me; I belong to God.” This concept is really formation stage, a basic step.♦
