• Every time we passed into a new era, Father had to face another trial.

• Only when you are able to unite your heart and actions with the will of God and move in the same direction as goodness and heavenly fortune, will you be able to reach your destination.

• The Cheon Il Guk life of putting all our energy into realizing God’s will, circumstances, and desires, that entire life itself should become prayer and sincere devotion 24 hours a day.

• When God's wish becomes my wish, the feeling of being an individual self completely disappears and my heart cannot help but be aroused centered on the parental heart.

• The purpose of performing rituals is to express our heart through them. When performing certain rituals, have the mindset of being with God and serving God.

• The spirit of paying indemnity is, no matter how difficult a task is, to have a positive attitude and a voluntary heart. Never blame others, but think with gratitude that this road of indemnity is heaven’s will and the way I must go.

• Even though the era of indemnity has passed, there still remain many trials and tribulations to overcome. You should treat yourself as God's and go with the heart of going beyond everything and walking with God.

Today I’d like to talk about “Women Will Play a Leading Role in the Ideal World” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.

<This speech was given at Women's Federation for World Peace rallies held between June 10 and June 30, 1992 in 40 cities, counties and districts throughout Korea> Therefore, this will be an age of great chaos, when conflict and struggle between good and evil take place on all the levels from the individual to the family, tribe, people, nation and world. During this period, humanity went through the First and Second World Wars. Even after the Second World War there has been unceasing conflict and struggle between the two camps of democracy and communism. Meanwhile Korea suffered for forty years as a colony under Japanese rule. This was followed by the division of North and South Korea, which led to the tragedy of the Korean War, and the country remains divided to this day.

A divided Korean peninsula is the manifestation at the global level of the original seeds of good and evil planted by the separation between Abel and Cain as part of the process of restoring the Fall of our first ancestors. In other words, communism in North Korea is the global fruit of the Cain-type worldviews and systems that have appeared in the course of history. It has formed an atheistic, communist nation that denies religious values; it is the stronghold of worldwide communism. In contrast, South Korea, the fruit of all Abel-type worldviews and systems that have appeared in the course of history, is a nation where religions flourish, second to none in the world. It has become a representative nation of the free world. In other words, the Korean peninsula is an encapsulation representing the entire world. The entire world has been divided into good and evil, and Korea is the final battleground between the South, separated to stand on the side of goodness, and the North, separated to stand on the side of evil.

Therefore, the unification of the North and the South on the Korean peninsula is the key to world peace and unity. For this reason, the reunification of North and South Korea is not just a political agenda. It assumes the providential historical aspect of being the gateway to restoring the kingdom of heaven on earth, which is the ultimate goal of the history of God's providence of salvation. In other words, Korean reunification stands as the gateway to realizing the ideal world of interdependence, mutual prosperity and universally shared values. This is a task to be shared by all of us living on the earth, together with the myriads of spirits who have lived on the earth and passed on to the spiritual realm.

This age in which we live together with True Parents will be an age of great chaos, when conflict and struggle between good and evil take place on all the levels from the individual to the family, tribe, people, nation and world.

The Korean peninsula with North and South Korea has divided the entire world into good and evil, and it is the encapsulation representing the entire world. Korea is the final battleground between the South, separated to stand on the side of goodness, and the North, separated to stand on the side of evil. 

Therefore, the unification of the North and the South on the Korean peninsula is the key to world peace and unit. For this reason, the reunification of North and South Korea is not just a political agenda. 

This involves serious quarreling and fighting between evil and good. That is why True Mother says that this is the gateway to restoring the kingdom of heaven on earth, which is the ultimate goal of the history of God’s providence of salvation, the gateway to realizing the ideal world of interdependence, mutual prosperity and universally shared values. 

For this providence of the unity(?) of the Korea, the most important thing is the role of the United States. I would like to re-emphasize again and again the role of the United States. 

First of all, as the elder son nation, America needs to cooperate with the mother nation Japan. This is the first thing. Secondly, it must embrace all the younger brother and sister nations of the world and aid them as the elder son and must help Korea, our Father’s nation, to realize the providence of Heavenly Unified Korea. 

The United States has three roles and responsibilities as the elder-son nation. First, cooperation with the mother nation of Japan, secondly, cooperation with the world’s 200 nations, the countries of the younger brothers and sisters, thirdly, cooperation with the father nation, Korea.

Since I came to American, I again realized that the role of America is so crucial! Why did Father choose America as the elder son nation. America is the central nation of the world. That’s why it is providential that America is dealing with the issue between Ukraine and Russia and China. 

As the elder-son nation, (America) needs to protect the entire world. At the same time, it needs to really establish God’s Kingdom of Heaven centering on Father’s nation. That’s why as the elder-son nation, (America’s) role is very important. 

First of all, now in Japan it is a very difficult situation, right? Who can help the Japanese providence? Not Korea. Not other nations. The most critical and important role is (that of) the American nation. Cooperation with the mother nation, Japan, is Mother-Son Cooperation.

Secondly, America as the elder-son nation needs to embrace the entire world, all the 200 nations. As the elder son it needs to subjugate even Cain’s major nations which are China and Russia. For what reason? In order to protect Father’s nation, in order to establish God’s Kingdom of Heaven centering on Father’s nation.

So there are three cooperations. Number one, cooperate with the mother nation Japan; secondly, cooperate with the world’s 200 nations, the countries of the younger brothers and sisters; third, cooperate with the father nation of Korea. Wow!

I am responsible for the North American providence. My role and responsibility are so crucial. That is why I really need to unite with you. Our main purpose (is) how to help the nation of Korea and establish the substantial Kingdom of Heaven centered on our beloved True Mother’s leadership.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Principle of Creation 66 – The Human Heart as Viewed through the Spiritual and Physical Minds

• The relationship between the spirit mind and the physical mind is like that between internal nature and external form. When they become one through give and take action with God as their center, they form a united functioning entity which guides the spirit self and physical self to become harmonious and progress toward the purpose of creation. This united entity is the mind of a human being.

• The conscience is that faculty of the human mind which, by virtue of its inborn nature, always directs us toward what we think is good. 

• However, as the standard of goodness in fallen human beings varies, the standard of their conscience also fluctuates; this causes frequent contention even among those who advocate a conscientious life.

• The original mind is that faculty of the human mind which pursues absolute goodness. The original mind relates to the conscience as internal nature to external form. 

• A person's conscience directs him to pursue goodness according to the standard he has set up in ignorance, even though it may differ from the original standard. However, the original mind repels this faulty standard and works to correct the conscience.

• As long as our spirit mind and physical mind are under the bondage of Satan, the functioning entity they form through their give and take action is called the evil mind. The evil mind continually drives people to do evil. 

• Our original mind and conscience direct us to repel the evil mind. They guide us in desperate efforts to reject evil desires and cling to goodness by breaking our ties with Satan and turning to face God. 

Let’s study Father’s word.

The Bond of the Original Heart

<23-206> A child's love for their parents cannot be the eternal standard. This is because the foundation of human history is based upon the betrayal of a parent by his children. This is why the standard cannot be that of a child’s love for their parent. However, because the love of God and the original heart of Adam and Eve before the Fall still remain, if we unite our mind and body, the love of a parent for his children will become the standard by which we can be saved from the realm of Satan. We need to realize that this standard is eternal and will remain forever. 

A child's love for its parents cannot be the eternal standard. Why? This is because the foundation of human history is based upon the betrayal of a parent by his children.

Siblings love, and conjugal love also cannot be the eternal standard. This is because Adam and Eve fell in the position of siblings and also fell with the couple’s position as well.

Only the love of Heavenly Parent for his children will become the standard by which we can be saved from the realm of Satan. We need to realize that this standard is eternal and will remain forever. 

Only (with) the standard by which God loves His children can we overcome fallen nature and be completed. That is why children must always think from the parent’s standpoint. That is hyojeong, filial piety. We need to realize that only the parent’s heart and love can overcome all problems.

Only God’s love, which is parental love, can become the eternal standard. Adam and Eve already showed something centering on Satan and their own center: siblings love, couples love, children’s love. They completely failed their mission. 

The only thing remaining is God’s eternal standard, which is the standard of parental love. That’s why we need to really focus on what our eternal standard is. 

Our eternal standard is God’s parental love. No matter what, giving and giving, living for the sake of the others, no matter what, investing and investing until the object partner is better than I am. Sacrificing and unconditionally sacrificing. Only this, God’s parental love, can become the eternal standard. That is why we need to unite with Heavenly Parent. I really appreciate Father and Mother. They are the ones who have showed that example of the eternal standard of love.

Overcoming Trials

<24-217> I had to go through a lot of crises. Every time we pass into a new era, I have to face another trial. This is not an endeavor which you can simply pinpoint from a starting location. Adam must go alone until he is able to reach the completion stage together with Eve.

Therefore, you must unite your original mind with the will of God and act accordingly. Until you are able to unite your heart and actions with the will of God and move in the same direction as goodness and heavenly fortune, you will not be able to reach your destination. 

For Father, every time we pass into a new era, he had to face another trial. Adam, and also Eve, must go alone until he is able to reach the completion stage together with Eve. 

As we go through each trial step by step, we will never be able to pass unless we act together in accordance with the standard of God's command and our original mind being united.

Until you are able to unite your heart and actions with the will of God and move in the same direction as goodness and heavenly fortune, you will not be able to reach your destination.

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: God’s Wish and My Wish Cannot Be Different

1. A life of prayer and sincere devotion is not special. If you live putting all your energy into realizing God's will, circumstances, and desires, your life itself is prayer and sincere devotion. A parent's wish and a child's wish are not two, but one. If I do not have a relationship with Heavenly Parent, His wishes and mine are inevitably different. However, if I know myself as God's and have a relationship with Him, His wishes cannot be different from mine. When God's wish becomes my wish, the feeling of being an individual self disappears, so my heart cannot help but be evoked.

How do we realize the life of prayer and sincere devotion of the people in the era of Cheon Il Guk? For the people living in the age of Cheon Il Guk, the life of putting all our energy into realizing God’s will, circumstances, and desires, that life itself should become prayer and sincere devotion. 

(That is) not just one or two hours of prayer in front of God and True Parents.

The experience of specifically choosing a time to pray and then praying is important, too, but on top of the foundation, our entire lives, 24 hours a day, must become a life of prayer and sincere devotion. 

Not just two or four hours of prayer. Our life should be a life of jeongseong, a life of prayer. Our thinking should be praying. Our actions should be jeongseong. Everything (needs to) connect together. (Jeongseong?) needs to (be) related to my daily life every second, every moment. We are living in the Cheon Il Guk. We need to attend 24 hours (a day). I cannot have my own time. We need to think about what the life of Cheon Il Guk centered on prayer and sincere devotion is. We need to offer 24-hours a day a life of prayer and sincere devotion.

If I know myself as belonging to God, (if) I am a child of God, (if) I treat myself as God’s belonging and live with the bond of parent and child with God, the parent’s wish and my wish are not two, but one. When God's wish becomes my wish, since the feeling of being an individual self, my own individual center, completely disappears, my heart cannot help but be evoked centered on the parental heart. 

When you realize you are God’s belonging, you are not lying any more, then his wish becomes your wish. If you really treat yourself as God’s belonging, then you can only live centering on God’s wish. God’s wish should be your wish. Naturally your own self center will naturally and automatically will disappear. This is really amazing. We need to know about this.

If we live as one with God, our parent, and the wish of the True Parents, our selfish self and our fallen nature will be automatically cleared. A filial son becomes a filial son only because he lives centered on the wish of his parents. Of course, you have your own wishes. But once you know God’s will, your wishes should be God’s wishes. You don’t need your own wishes. When you totally focus on God’s wish, that is the attitude of filial sons and daughters. 

That is why critiquing(?) myself as God’s belonging is very important. As long as we treat ourself as God’s belonging, it is difficult to find our fallen nature because we are focused on God’s wishes, God’s circumstances, God’s situation.

The Purpose of Performing Rituals

2. The purpose of performing rituals is to express our heart through them. Rituals done without heart are only formalities. Therefore, if the ritual is done habitually or in order to keep tradition, it only looks beautiful outwardly. When you evoke your heart while performing a ritual, that is your sincere attitude toward the ritual. If you do not express your heart during reciting the Family Pledge and worship service, it is just a formality, and you are committing a crime in your heart. When performing a certain ritual, do not force yourself to do it while saying you do not want to do it, but actively do what you have to do. You should not think that you must participate since it is a formal ritual, but that you are doing it with God.

Father asks what is crime? All actions that are done without heart become crimes. In the end, the purpose of performing rituals is to express our heart through them. Rituals without expressing the heart only turn into things that are formal and habitual. 

When you evoke your heart while performing a ritual, that is your sincere attitude toward the ritual. If you do not express your heart while reciting the Family Pledge and worship service, it is nothing more than a formality, and you are committing a crime in your heart. 

Now we are living in the era of Cheon Il Guk. It is the era of love and heart. Formation stage, growth stage, finally we enter the foundation of love and heart. That’s why (not) involving our heart is a crime.

When performing certain rituals, you should not think that you have to participate as it is a formal ceremony, but have the mindset of being with God and serving God. 

Spirit of Paying Indemnity

3. Before True Father went to Danbury Prison, he tried not go to prison and struggled to accomplish God’s Will. However, when he had no choice but to go, he thought of it as God’s Will, and he voluntarily went to prison with a positive attitude. He entered Danbury with a positive mind that it was God’s Will, not the American law, for him to enter Danbury. He thought that God's desire was not for him to go to prison, but for him to go because of people’s disbelief, and that he would conquer disbelief through faith. The evil environment wanted to kill True Father, but he acted with an active mind that if he died, he would die. This is the spirit of indemnity that pays indemnity.

What is the spirit of paying indemnity? Of course the era of indemnity is already over, but we have many things that need to be settled. What must we do to pay indemnity well and be victorious? First, take on every task with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. If you do it reluctantly, do it without a voluntary heart, the providence of indemnity will be prolonged and you only waste time. No matter how difficult a task it is, it is important to have a positive attitude and voluntary heart. 

Wow! I have continuously emphasized the voluntary heart. If there is no voluntary heart, no positive attitude centering on God’s point of view, you are just wasting our time. You cannot pay the price. That is why you are not living in the era of Cheon Il Guk. God’s Cheon Il Guk requires your volunteer heart, not from pushing by your Abel or someone. “No choice, this is my duty, my responsibility.” That is not a volunteer heart, not a positive attitude. This just wastes your time. Don’t do anything reluctantly. (Not having a) volunteer heart just wastes time. It just prolongs God’s providence. 

When the Jews needed to enter Canaan with Moses, they did not have a willing heart. “Why? There is no food. No drink. No meat.” They complained and complained. They did not have a volunteer heart. Moses had that kind of heart, but his followers did not understand God’s providence.

Before True Father went to Danbury Prison, he tried not go to prison and strived to accomplish God’s Will without entering Danbury Prison, but as soon as it turned into a circumstance where he had no choice but to go to prison, he thought of it as God’s Will. Wow! We need to learn from Father. And he voluntarily went to prison with a positive attitude. “This is God’s will. I need to go.” If he had complained and criticized God: “Oh, Heavenly Father, I have done my best for the American providence.... This is the result? What’s going on?” If he had had that kind of heart before entering Danbury Prison, what would have happened? 

We need to learn Father’s spirit: how to be victorious, how to pay indemnity. Father is really amazing!

Even Jesus never complained. Even though the Israelis complained and did not believe in Jesus, he took responsibility for their disbelief and was crucified without any kind of complaint and forgave his enemies. 

As a believer there (should be) no complaint, no dissatisfaction, (and one should) always have a volunteer heart: “This is my destiny to overcome. This is God’s will.”

The second kind of attitude for paying indemnity is to never blame others but think that this road of indemnity is the destiny that I must go. Also, think of it as Heaven’s will and have gratitude. 

The Bible is very clear about the spirit and attitude to pay indemnity, and how to subjugate the enemy. I really love this Bible verse. It does not speak directly about the way of indemnity, how to pay the price, but we can see what Jesus is speaking about.

Matthew 5:38-41 says, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.”

Wow! If we have this kind of attitude – your enemy says to go one mile, but you go with them two miles – this is the spirit of how to overcome and be victorious. This is the spirit of how to pay indemnity.

Of course, now we have passed the age of indemnity, but depending on each individual’s course, there still remains many trials and tribulations that we have to overcome. In such a situation, you should treat yourself as God's and go with the heart of going beyond everything and walking with God.
