Key Points
From the moment that Adam and Eve fell and humanity began to multiply centered on Satan, God began the work of separating the lineage of good and evil.
True Parents have restored the right of the eldest son, the right of the parents, and the right of kingship in (that) order in one lifetime!
God sought to restore the birthright of the eldest son through Cain & Abel, then Jacob & Esau and Perez & Zerah, in order to send the messiah. Then through True Parents he sought to restore the realm of true parenthood and true kingship, which is God’s sovereignty.
All human beings have an original nature that turns towards and goes out to God.
All people long for God without even realizing it.
The purpose of prayer and devotion is to open the door of our heart and to hear the voice of God speaking through our original mind.
When Dr. Yong listen to beautiful music, he says he has more emotion and heart to comfort God and he can hear the voice of God.
As long as God has jjak sarang for humans as his children, they are bound to return to his arms at some point.
When we witness, we need to use the power of jjak sarang.
Jesus’ spirit of the cross is the spirit of taking responsibility himself instead of blaming the Jews and the people for their disbelief. He did not complain or express dissatisfaction.
If Jesus had had a calculating heart and had regretted offering his own life and loving the Israelites and Jewish people, he would not have been qualified to forgive the sins of others and to be the messiah.
If you become calculative, disappointed or upset, Satan has already caught you.
True responsibility is fulfilled when the child becomes better than its parents.
If I love God and True Parents more than my children do, that means I have not fulfilled my responsibility as their parent.
In our course of faith, even if we enter a difficult stage, believers cannot have any displeasure or disappointment or complaints.
The spirit of the cross is to treat the other person's fault as my own fault and the other person's problem as my problem under any circumstance.
Believers should not remember what they did well but what they did wrong so that they can make up for it and improve.
Where there is the spirit of the cross, there is parental heart.

I am in Washington, D.C., at Upshur House.
Yesterday, we had a Subregion 2 Leadership Transition Ceremony at Capital Family Church in Washington, D.C. More than 400 people attended the ceremony, I think nearly 500 people.
Rev. Ernest & Keiko Patton have stepped down from the position of Subregional Director, and Dr. Achille & Katsumi Acolatse have been appointed to the position of Subregional Directors. It was a really beautiful event. I really felt overwhelmed.
President Naokimi gave congratulatory remarks via zoom for Rev. Patton and Dr. Acolatse.
Then, Rev. Ernest & Keiko Patton gave a farewell speech, and Dr. Achille & Katsumi Acolatse gave an inauguration speech.
I gave a special message expressing our gratitude for Rev. Ernest & Keiko Patton’s hard work and welcoming Dr. Achille and Mrs. Katsumi Acolatse (in their) new mission as the Subregional Directors in SR2.
I also emphasized the importance of (a) church where God can dwell with us and reminded them (of) a clear vision and goal for the Capital Family Church.
Then, we had a cake cutting celebrating the transition ceremony and my wife, Mrs. Yong’s, Subregion tour.
Thank you once again. I was happy to see the former continental director, Dr. Yang, as well.
We thank Rev. Ernest and Mrs. Keiko Patton for their dedicated service as Subregional Directors and wish them success in their future endeavors. They really worked so hard. I am also very grateful that Dr. Achille testified about them with tears.
We warmly welcome Dr. Achille and Mrs. Katsumi Acolatse as the new Subregional Directors in SR2 and wish them success and victory in their new role and responsibility.
Today I’d like to talk about “Women Will Play a Leading Role in the Ideal World” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at Women's Federation for World Peace rallies held between June 10 and June 30, 1992 in 40 cities, counties and districts throughout Korea> The Bible makes it clear that the core of human history is the providence of restoration, through which God is trying to achieve the purpose of creation lost when Adam and Eve committed the original sin and became false parents. The Messiah is the True Parents who gives rebirth to all humanity on behalf of Adam and Eve. God's original purpose of creation was for Adam to become the true father of humanity and for Eve to become the true mother of humanity. In order to restore this purpose of creation to its original state, God has no choice except to carry out the providence of re-creating Adam. That is the basis of the providence behind preparing the chosen people of Israel for the birth of Jesus.
From the moment that Adam and Eve fell and humanity began to multiply centered on Satan, God began the work of separating the lineage of good and evil. In Adam's family God separated Abel, the second son who was in the position of God's object partner, and Cain, the first son who was in the position of Satan's object partner. God set the conditions for Cain to submit voluntarily to Abel, thus restoring the order of creation to its original state. Instead, Cain murdered Abel and the history of the struggle to separate goodness from evil was prolonged. God's attempts to bring the lineage back under God passed through Noah, Abraham and Isaac and reached the generation of Jacob. With the help of his mother, Rebekah, Jacob brought his twin elder brother, Esau, to voluntary submission.
Jacob thus played a decisive role in establishing the chosen people of Israel. Jacob's son Judah had twin sons, Perez and Zerah, through his daughter in-law Tamar. Perez fought with Zerah while they were in Tamar's womb. Zerah, who was about to be born first, was pushed out of the way by Perez, who then was born in the position of the eldest son. This fight between the firstborn son and the second son is the struggle between good and evil. Restoration was achieved when the younger brother, Perez, won over his elder brother within the womb. Thus Perez, who would have been born the younger twin, was born as the firstborn son.
From the moment that Adam and Eve fell and humanity began to multiply centered on Satan, God began the work of separating the lineage of good and evil.
Then True Parents have restored the right of the eldest son, the right of the parents, and the right of kingship in (that) order. Since Satan first occupied the world and humans created by God (in) the position of the eldest son, God carried the providence of the birthright of the eldest son from the position of the second son.
Beginning with the providence of Cain and Abel of Adam’s family, God led the providence in Isaac’s time with his sons Jacob and Esau, and in Judah’s time, Tamar’s twin sons, Perez and Zerah.
If the providence of the birthright of the eldest son was not victorious, God’s son, the Messiah, would not have been able to be born on this earth. Next, he has to find and establish the providence of finding and giving rebirth to humankind by restoring the providence from the realm of the false parents to the realm of the true parents. Finally, we have to go to the stage of the providence of restoration of the kingship, which restores and re-establishes God’s sovereignty.
The amazing thing is that while Father was on the earth with True Mother, they restored the birth of the elder son, the realm of the True Parents and the realm of kingship. It was just in one generation in his lifetime. That is why True Parents could advance God’s providence so rapidly. Can you imagine if they had not been able to be successful (with) all this main(?) providence? I am really grateful to our True Father and True Mother. Our True Parents have gone through and restored all these kinds of issues. Thank you, True Father and True Mother!
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Principle of Creation 66 – The Human Heart as Viewed through the Spiritual and Physical Minds
• The relationship between the spirit mind and the physical mind is like that between internal nature and external form. When they become one through give and take action with God as their center, they form a united functioning entity which guides the spirit self and physical self to become harmonious and progress toward the purpose of creation. This united entity is the mind of a human being.
• The conscience is that faculty of the human mind which, by virtue of its inborn nature, always directs us toward what we think is good.
• However, as the standard of goodness in fallen human beings varies, the standard of their conscience also fluctuates; this causes frequent contention even among those who advocate a conscientious life.
• The original mind is that faculty of the human mind which pursues absolute goodness. The original mind relates to the conscience as internal nature to external form.
• A person's conscience directs him to pursue goodness according to the standard he has set up in ignorance, even though it may differ from the original standard. However, the original mind repels this faulty standard and works to correct the conscience.
• As long as our spirit mind and physical mind are under the bondage of Satan, the functioning entity they form through their give and take action is called the evil mind. The evil mind continually drives people to do evil.
• Our original mind and conscience direct us to repel the evil mind. They guide us in desperate efforts to reject evil desires and cling to goodness by breaking our ties with Satan and turning to face God.
Let’s study Father’s word.
The Original Nature Which Directs Us towards Goodness
<16-113> When the sun rises in the morning, have you ever seen how all of creation turns towards and absorbs the light of the sun? Not only the plants, but all of the animals are like this. They are bored from sleeping through the long night. This is why in the morning, all of creation mobilizes all elements, and welcomes the morning sun while calling out, “Welcome, Sun! Quickly come out!” The reason that all of creation misses the sun so much is because the sun is the source of all life. Likewise, if we assume that God is the center of the universe, all of humankind possesses an original heart that is drawn towards Him. If God did not exist, creation would not act in this way. This is why your conscience orders, “Hey, if you are going to go somewhere, you should go towards God!”
When the sun rises in the morning, all creation turns towards the sun. The sun is like God to all things. It mobilizes all elements that express their joy and welcome the morning sun. The reason that all of creation longs for the sun so much is because the sun is the source of all life.
Just like how all things always turn towards the sun, all human beings have an original nature that turns towards and goes out to God. Our original mind and conscience always orders, “Hey, if you are going to go somewhere, you should go towards God!”
As long as the conscience and original mind exist, all people long for God without even realizing it, so we always need to listen carefully to the voice of the original mind.
In order to listen to the voice of the original mind, you must always have both prayer and devotion or jeongseong. The purpose of prayer and devotion is to hear the voice of God. Therefore, we must open the door of our heart every day and listen to God's voice with the hope that God will command us.
Whenever I wake up and prepare Morning Devotion again and again, I really need to pray.
Recently I have been using music, very nice and beautiful. When I listen to the music, I have more emotion and heart to comfort God and I can hear the voice of God. The beautiful music helps me connect to God. When I call God, he really answers me. This music is helping me so much. I can meditate more deeply. I can hear God’s voice through my original mind.
One of the purposes of prayer is to open my heart, invite God (in) and try to listen to God’s voice -- what is God asking me to do – and have beautiful and heartistic communication with God. I can pray and medicate for 30 or 40 minutes or one or two hours. That kind of medication with music is very powerful for hearing the voice of our original mind.
The Original Heart of Human Beings Longs for God
<18-129> All of humankind needs to become the children of God. This is why the desire of all of humankind is to attend God as their father. Even a person who conquers the world, even a person who conquers the universe longs for the love of God. In this aspect, it does not matter whether you are grand or pitiful: everyone is the same. Every single person has the original heart within them that longs for the love of God.
In the end, all of humankind, regardless of rank or position, needs to become the children of God. This is why all of humankind’s original mind has the desire to attend God as their father and mother.
Even a person who conquers the world, every person, whether grand or pitiful, longs for the love of God. Like so, the original heart of every single person is made to long for the love of God. No matter how much you deny God, through human beings’ original heart, they are 100% guaranteed to long for God.
Love is longing, a longing heart. Just as a parent always longs for their children and children always long for their parents, as long as God unchangingly longs for human beings, His children, no matter how bad a person is, there will come a time when they long for God.
In conclusion, as long as God has unrequited love for humans as his children – I am talking about jjak sarang -- no matter how capricious they may be, humans are bound to return to God's arms at some point. No one can beat unrequited love, jjak sarang.
Even though I betray and ignore God and deny he exists in any situation, God is the parent of human beings. He cannot betray human beings.... He always maintains jjak sarang no matter what: “I love you!” Therefore, as long as God has jjak sarang for each human being, someday we need to go back to God’s bosom. This is the power of jjak sarang. God’s jjak sarang is eternal, unchanging and absolute – and unique for each human being. It is amazing, right? He even loves his own enemies. That is God’s jjak sarang.
Do you have a jjak sarang list? Even though your guest does not notice you, even though he does not know about your love and jjak sarang, it does not matter. As long as you keep on praying for your jjak sarang list, a perfect plus can create a perfect minus. This is a universal principle. That’s why when we witness, we need to use the power of jjak sarang.
Our original mind is like a sunflower. It always turns around centering on the sun – absolute alignment, absolute jjak sarang. “Where are you going (sun)?” It absolutely follows sunlight. We can learn from the sunflower about the meaning of jjak sarang. That is why True Mother loves sunflower faith.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Responsibility in the World of Love
Today I would like to talk about a very important thing.
The Standard for Fulfilling Respon-sibility
1. The cross is Jesus taking responsibility instead of blaming the disbelief of the Jews and the people. He didn't think in a calculating way like, “You didn't believe me even though I showed you signs and miracles.” He didn't blame them, saying, “I came to Israel and truly loved, sacrificed and offered my life for the people, but no one realized it.” If the Lord has such a calculating heart, he is not qualified to forgive the sins of others. Criticism can arise if you make calculations. Although Jesus fulfilled all his responsibilities, the Israelites’ responsibility to serve the Messiah remains. However, from the parent’s standpoint, even if Jesus fulfilled his responsibilities with a certain standard, the true responsibility is fulfilled when children become better than their parents.
What was Jesus’ spirit of the cross? Many don’t understand this. It is the spirit of taking responsibility himself instead of blaming the Jews and the people for their disbelief. While bearing the cross, Jesus did not complain or have dissatisfaction about anyone.
“Why are the Jewish people like this? Why don’t you believe in me? That’s why I have to bear the cross! Heavenly Father, why don’t you intervene for me? I came as the messiah! Why should I die?”
He never complained. This is the spirit of the cross. It is taking responsibility: your problem is my problem. Your disbelief is my problem.
He not only took responsibility; he loved his enemies. This is the spirit of the crucifixion.
Even though he showed them signs and miracles, he didn’t think in a calculating way. If Jesus had had a calculating heart and had regretted offering his own life and loving the Israelites and Jewish people, he would not have been qualified to forgive the sins of others.
He would not have had the qualification to be the messiah.
Therefore, in our course of faith, if we think in a calculating way and become disappointed or upset, Satan will definitely accuse us. If you become calculative, disappointed or upset, Satan has already caught you.
Your disappointment means what? Your being upset and angry means what? Satan has already caught you. “You belong to me!” Disappointment and upset(ness) and anger belong to Satan. That’s why whenever you are upset and disappointed and angry with someone, that means Satan has already caught you. You need to know this point very clearly.
Responsibility in the World of Love
2. When can you say that you have fulfilled your responsibilities as a parent? If parents raise their children and the children become people that the parents can look up to, then the parents have fulfilled their responsibility. Just because you fed them, had them graduate from college, had them marry, and even bought them a house does not mean that you fulfilled all your parental responsibility. In the secular world, it is often said that parents have fulfilled their responsibility to their children by providing an external education while leaving the essentials aside. But that is not responsibility in the world of love. A parent's wish is to have a child they can look up to. When parents offer jeongseong with all their hearts until the day when their children become better than them, that day will be a day of glory and joy for the parents.
Jesus fulfilled all his responsibilities from the parent’s position. However, believers have the responsibility of believing or not believing in the Messiah.
However, even if Jesus fulfilled his responsibilities with fixed standards, we can say that true responsibility is fulfilled when the child becomes better than its parents.
If a child has grown well and become a child that the parents can look up to, that means the parents have fulfilled their responsibilities.
What about you all? Are your children better than you? Do your children love God, True Parents and the Will more than you? If we think from this perspective, I have not fulfilled my responsibilities in front of my children yet.
When I come back to my children – of course, they are still young – I can tell if I love God and True Parents more than my children do, that means I have not fulfilled my responsibility.
No matter how much we think about it, it is because we still cannot say that our children are standing in a position of loving the Will more than our couple. That is why we need to keep investing and being a model until our children become better than our couple.
Believers Have No Displeasure
3. Someone made the following confession: “As soon as I graduated from high school, I joined the church and worked until I was over 40. However, when I entered a difficult stage, others pretended not to know. I was very sad when I saw that no one was paying any attention to me.” Everyone, believers have no displeasure. Did Jesus say that he was displeased with God when he loved the Israelites to death but was eventually disbelieved and went to the cross? Today's believers must not make calculations on their path. And it doesn't matter who is right and who is wrong. A true person who is discriminated against by others should never see it as discrimination. That is because it makes one think they are not responsible.
This is very important. In our course of faith, even if we enter a difficult stage, believers cannot have any displeasure or disappointment or complaints.
In our life of faith, actually displeasure or complaints cannot exist.
When Father went to Heungnam Prison, did he complain, “How could God send me to this Hell of all Hells?” Could he tell God that he was displeased?
Did Jesus say that he was displeased with God when he loved the Israelites to death but was eventually disbelieved and went to the cross?
The spirit of the cross of Jesus is the spirit of taking responsibility and not blaming others for their unbelief. If there is a problem, it is the spirit of the cross to think that all problems have arisen because of my lack of love. If other people discriminate against me, the spirit of repentance and reflection that I have discriminated against others is the cause, is the spirit of the cross. The spirit of the cross never blames others – like Jesus, like True Father. The spirit of the cross is to think that problems have arisen in the other person because I did not fully love all the problems.
Today s believers must not make calculations on their path. And it doesn t matter who is right and who is wrong. A true person who is discriminated against by others should never see it as discrimination.
The spirit of the cross is to treat the other person's fault as my own fault and the other person's problem as my problem under any circumstance.
Why is Jesus so great? The Jewish people did not believe in him. He (took) responsibility and was crucified. He treated the Israelis as “That is my problem.” Not only that, he even forgave his enemy. This is the spirit of the crucifixion.
The spirit of the cross of God is the spirit of taking responsibility for everything as a parent no matter what. Even though Adam and Eve were wrong in the fall, without God’s crucifixion spirit, human salvation would have been impossible. “If I had not created Adam and Eve, there would have been no fall of man.” In the spirit of the cross there is always the heart of parents. God is amazing! Even though Adam and Eve fell, God felt responsible for their fall.... “If I had not created Adam and Eve there would have been no problem. This is my fault. I have to be responsible.” Of course, this is not God’s fault. Human beings are responsible, but with a parental heart (God) wanted to be responsible for (them). “No matter what, I want to save them,” rather than blaming them. This is the heart of parents. This is the spirit of the cross.
That’s why as a believer if you complain, express dissatisfaction and are angry with something, you do not know what the spirit of the cross is.
Responsibility of Salt and Light
4. According to the principle of love, responsibility is salt and light. Salt is always responsible for making things salty, and light is always responsible for illuminating darkness. The light cannot complain that there is some darkness in some corner. The light should realize that it was weak so it could not shine to that corner and repent. That way, the light becomes more like a light. Believers are the same. There is no such thing as “disappointed” or “displeased.” Believers should not remember what they did well, but what they did wrong, so that they can make up for it and improve. Remembering what you did well becomes stuff you can complain about. When you remember that someone is indebted to you or you gave money, it becomes a condition for discord and makes enemies at the same time.
There is no such thing as “disappointed” or “displeased.”
Believers should not remember what they did well but what they did wrong so that they can make up for it and improve. Remembering what you did well becomes stuff you can complain about.
I love the spirit of the cross! We need to inherit from our Jesus. No complaint. We need to inherit from Noah. For 120 years he did not complain. Abraham offered Isaac without complaint. Even though he was crucified on the cross, Jesus did not complain. Not just not omplain, he even forgave his enemies in that kind of situation. Father went to prison six times; he never complained. Rather he consoled and comforted God. He (took) responsibility for the human fall and problems. Wow! This is the spirit of the cross. Where there is the spirit of the cross, there is parental heart all the time. If we remember this, our life of faith will become very powerful. What do you think?
