In order to live a victorious life, you must overcome your physical body to be in control of seeing, hearing, speaking, eating, material things, and sexual desires.
To live a victorious life of faith and preserve your heart, always do hoondokhae, and make a keyword and meditate on it. Then put the Word into practice and touch the heart of others.
True Mother said the ocean teaches you everything: how to do jeongseong, what a longing heart is, how to be patient, ... how to set your goal, and the best way to catch fish.

(Response to sharing) I really love the Morning Devotion culture. It (really) has become beautiful culture. At the same time, we really need to create a culture of multiplying true love through witnessing. Witnessing should be one of the main (aspects of) our culture. Also, jeongseong and reading God’s word. We need to create that kind of culture all the time.♦
Today I’d like to talk about “Women Will Play a Leading Role in the Ideal World” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at a national convention for the Women's Federation for Peace in Asia held on November 20, 1991 at the Seoul Olympic Fencing Arena> God has been waiting for thousands of years to recover what was taken from Him. He employs the strategy of being struck first and then receives back what was taken. When the evil world persecutes you from all quarters and oppresses you, heavenly fortune will help you to leap forward and go beyond all opposition.
God has allowed my husband and me many opportunities to undergo such experiences. Being persecuted is actually a secret method of inheriting the enemy’s right of possession. In this way, the person whom God loves is always under the protection of heavenly fortune. Even if God has an enemy whom He wishes to overcome, God will not punish that person because God knows that that person has parents and a wife, as well as sons and daughters who love him. Since God also has crossed the valley of tears, when He experiences the heart of His enemy's parents, wife and children, who love him more than anyone else, He simply cannot eliminate this enemy.
<This speech was given at Women's Federation for World Peace rallies in 21 cities in Korea between May 11 and June 2, 1992> When you really come to feel God's heart, how could you possibly seek revenge? When you come to know God's heart, you want to help your enemy instead. That is the only way you can come to the path of truth, the path centered on love where you can embrace everybody in unity. Only then will heaven and earth move in unison, and will God shed tears. He will be delighted because you resemble Him. Since God takes this viewpoint, we can understand why we need to love our enemy. Such a power comes neither from knowledge, money nor authority. Only true love has that power. Therefore, for your beloved sons, daughters and parents, North and South Korea must go beyond thinking of each other as enemies and yearn for reunification in the spirit of true love, of living and sacrificing for the sake of others.

I already mentioned yestereday and the day before, Japan is in a really difficult situation right now. However, according to True Parents’ words, blessings are great in proportion to persecution. Persecution on a national level foretells inheriting the right of possession on a national level. Persecution seems to delay the providence, but it actually advances the providence.
God’s method of bringing evil to surrender is natural subjugation.
This is very important. That is why it takes a long time in God’s providence to win over Satan, the enemy.
That is why the Bible teaches us to love our enemies, and saints also constantly teach us to love our enemies. The power to love enemies comes neither from knowledge, money nor authority. Only true love has that power.
However, in order to love an enemy that you cannot love, unimaginable sacrifice is required.
Not just words. Not just lip service. You need to have unimaginable, incredible sacrifice in order to love your enemy.
This is because the more you are struck, the more you have to endure and sacrifice again and again.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Principle of Creation 66 – The Human Heart as Viewed through the Spiritual and Physical Minds
• The relationship between the spirit mind and the physical mind is like that between internal nature and external form. When they become one through give and take action with God as their center, they form a united functioning entity which guides the spirit self and physical self to become harmonious and progress toward the purpose of creation. This united entity is the mind of a human being.
• The conscience is that faculty of the human mind which, by virtue of its inborn nature, always directs us toward what we think is good.
• However, as the standard of goodness in fallen human beings varies, the standard of their conscience also fluctuates; this causes frequent contention even among those who advocate a conscientious life.
• The original mind is that faculty of the human mind which pursues absolute goodness. The original mind relates to the conscience as internal nature to external form.
• A person's conscience directs him to pursue goodness according to the standard he has set up in ignorance, even though it may differ from the original standard. However, the original mind repels this faulty standard and works to correct the conscience.
• As long as our spirit mind and physical mind are under the bondage of Satan, the functioning entity they form through their give and take action is called the evil mind. The evil mind continually drives people to do evil.
• Our original mind and conscience direct us to repel the evil mind. They guide us in desperate efforts to reject evil desires and cling to goodness by breaking our ties with Satan and turning to face God.

Humans Possess Both a Physical Mind and a Conscience
<55-24> Humans actually possess two selves within one body. These are the conscience and the physical mind. It is a well-known fact that every single person on earth possesses a conscience. Is there someone here today that thinks that they do not have a conscience? (No, there is not). Have you ever seen a conscience? No one has ever seen one, yet they know of its existence. Everyone knows about physical bodies because they have seen them with their eyes. This is a problem. Even though everyone knows about the existence of the conscience, not even one person has seen one with his or her own eyes. Everyone is sure of the existence of physical bodies, because they have seen them. Now, let us address this problem through proportional reasoning.
Which theory do you think is more solid: absolute certainty that something invisible exists, or absolute certainty that something visible exists? The physical body wins that argument. This is a problem.
Where is the border between the place in which humans can encounter God and the place in which humans can encounter Satan? It is within the self. How can you be afraid of global wars, when there is an inescapable battle between two massive powers being fought within you? This battle is being fought tens to hundreds of times every day from morning to night. It becomes a problem if you say even one word wrong. What can you blame? Who can you accuse then? Does the blame lie with your physical body or your conscience? It lies within your conscience.
The fight occurs like this. The conscience becomes weak, so the physical body says, “Hey, conscience, what are you doing?” Have you ever fought with yourself like this? This is how it occurs when the conscience attacks the physical body. It will say, “You must not do that.” Consequently, are there many people who are conscientiously inclined in this world? Or are there more people who are not? If you think of it from this standpoint, there are more people who are conscientiously inclined. Even if you feel guilty, you take the wrong way anyway. You are caught up in this dilemma. Then from where do religion and culture derive their educational standard? It is derived from the power of the conscience. This is the effect of culture and religion. The border is formed between good and evil people. You must be adamant about this point.
Every human being possesses a conscience and physical mind. It is a well-known fact that every single person on earth possesses a conscience. Although the conscience is invisible, nobody denies the existence of the conscience. Also, since the physical mind is visible, nobody can deny it as well.
The problem lies in the fact that the physical mind, which is centered on the physical self, is stronger than the invisible conscience. The invisible is more important than the visible actually. The invisible is the subject partner. The invisible spirit self is the subject rather than the visible physical self. Also, we must know that the invisible God is the subject rather than visible human beings.
Since the physical mind is 70% to 80% stronger than the conscience, to overcome the physical mind, without the help of life elements and power of the Word from God, you can never overcome it. Therefore, you need to regard the commands of the invisible conscience as life.
In order to strengthen our conscience we need to borrow power from God. Through God’s love and his word we can surely overcome our physical mind.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: What Must Be Done to Preserve the Heart?
In Order to Preserve Your Heart, You Must Form Relationships Well
1. In my original state, when I possess the heart, achievements of heart and joy automatically come about. Just as we want to have a healthy body, our original mind seeks a joyful heart. Everyone’s original nature wants to become a joyful self, peaceful self, and heartistic self. Heart refers to the root of love. Our heart always seeks to possess our joyful selves. Then how can I attain a heartistically joyful self? First, I must know that a being called “me” is a being with relationships, and I must create joy within relationships. I must know that a being called “me” always has subject-object relationships, such as the relationship between God and me, mind and body, and man and woman. Therefore, if you keep these relationships well and fulfill your responsibilities, you can always produce joy and go on the path of seeking original nature. However, if you do not form relationships well and do not fulfill your responsibilities, you end up going on a path of misery. Therefore, in order to preserve your heart, you have to form relationships well.
How Much Conviction Do You Have In God and the Will?
2. We often say that we are believers in God. However, as we practice our faith, we reflect on whether we are true believers, and we often question ourselves. In some cases, despite living as a pastor for a long time, there are people who doubt themselves on whether God really exists. A doctor of theology once went to meet True Father and heard many revelatory words from Father, and then he asked if there really is a God. Looking at this, while having faith, we question whether we are really believers in God. In some cases, even while saying that you are going on the path of faith, when you compare yourself to nonbelievers of the secular world, you come to reflect on yourself and doubt whether you really believe. How much conviction do you have in God and the Will?
How can I attain a heartistically joyful self? First, I must know that a being called “me” is a being with relationships, and I must create joy within relationships. If I do not form relationships well, there will be total darkness in my heart.
The most important thing is forming a good relationship with God. I have to have the principled conviction that God is my absolute subject partner and I am His absolute object partner. You need a complete conviction of faith that God is my parent and I am His child. This is where faith begins. When I believe that God is my parent and I have conviction in this, there will be limitless joy and hope.
Today I am going to visit our new GPA members. They are going to gather at UTS. Before going there I asked them to share with(?) me something: “What is your motivation to join GPA?” This morning I read all the content. My goodness! More than 95% of GPA members’ motivation to join GPA (was that) they really wanted to experience God and to have a deeper relationship with True Parents.
Our original nature is always searching for God. How can we deny that God exists? He is our eternal parent. No matter what, we are the eternal children of God. That is why our original nature is always searching for God. Who is God? Who am I?
That is why I am really inspired to read their motivation. It is so beautiful! They really want an experience of God. They really want to know who True Parents are. Please Heavenly Father, bless each of the GPA members. Let them really experience (this) and (receive) confirmation that God does exist and that he is alive and is their parent and they are children of God.
When we have a firm relationship with God, that is the way to create incredible joy and happiness.
If the people who doubted Jesus had accepted him as the Savior, there would have been unimaginable joy.
I have heard incredible testimonies from Christian people (about) how they met Jesus. When they accepted from their heart that “Jesus is my lord,” they felt incredible joy and happiness. They felt they could overcome any issues and problems.
In this way, faith absolutely brings hope and joy. When you truly believe in God without doubting and believe in something, you can see hope, you can find joy. You have incredible confidence.
Do you have joy over meeting True Parents? Do you really accept True Parents as the eternal Saviors? Our joy and gratitude begins from having conviction in True Parents.
Recently there have been many issues about Mother’s leadership and all kinds of things. That is why you need to understand True Parents clearly and need to have unforgettable spiritual experiences about who True Parents are.
I tell you frankly after I joined the church, one day I had a (spiritual) experience about who True Parents are. Since that time almost 48 years ago, I have had no doubt even for one second that True Parents are the messiah, my savior, even though all kinds of trial situations have come. That is why I can keep my love for God and my life of faith.
If your vertical alignment is not clear about God, then your faith is really shaky. If you do not have much conviction in True Parents , then your faith is shaky. That is why you really need to have a spiritual experience (that) the Divine Principle is undeniable. Then your faith will become very strong.
Next, joy is always created when I form good human relationships – not just vertical relationships, but the relationship between you and me. Therefore, no matter who I have a relationship with, when I think of it as a God-given bond and cherish the other person and have a heartistic relationship with affection – with my brothers and sisters, my Abel, my parents, my neighbor – and build a good relationship, then I will always feel joy. And I can preserve my heart through that heartistic foundation. The way of bringing joy to those around me becomes the way to preserve my heart.
I, Who Must Become a Victorious Ruler
3. You began the way of the Will and had faith for a long time while striving to follow and practice faith in your own way, but when you compare yourself to secular people who do not know the Will and are not restored, you will come to reflect and look back on how much your original nature was actually restored. Although I am making an effort to fulfill my responsibilities joyfully and vigorously each day, there are times when I ask myself what makes me different from secular people and how much I’ve changed. People who are still new in faith are busy in their own work to stabilize their life of faith, not even being able to take care of others. But after some time passes, you will question how much fallen nature you are really clearing and how much you are restoring your original nature. That is why we today try to have a keyword for “me” to become a “victorious ruler” and make a new start while looking back on ourselves. And we reflect on our lives and check our heart’s wish about what kind of person we want to become. So, I have to be sympathetic to myself all the time. And I have to nurture myself to be a happy me.
The Reason I Cannot Preserve My Heart
4.When do I rejoice? When am I disappointed? You have to analyze this well, understand it in a principled way, and deal with it yourself. When do I rejoice? When am I sad? In this way, I should analyze myself well and check what my joy and sorrow are centered on. Am I really the one who rejoices centered on myself, or am I the one who rejoices for the sake of the other person? The reason why young children suddenly change from being happy to crying is because they do not have self-control. It is because they just become happy and sad depending on the atmosphere. Many believers today are controlled by their environment like a child. Even though we are people who have been in the faith for a long time, when we have some gathering or hold a meeting, rather than being in harmony with each other, we have ill-feelings towards each other, complain a lot, and emotions go up and down depending on the environment. As this happens, I, who formed a relationship with the Word, will crumble. In the end, I cannot preserve my heart and I lose everything.
We should live a life of being victorious every day. In order to live a victorious life, you must overcome yourself. You have to overcome your body from dawn. You have to be in control of seeing, hearing, speaking, eating, material things, and sexual desires. You must make a determination not to give Satan a chance to attack even for a second, and manage yourself thoroughly.
In order for your life of faith to become a victorious life, always do hoondokhae, and make a keyword from the words that gave you strength, and then meditate on it whenever you have time. A life without a keyword from the Word is a life that is empty like a scarecrow.
In order to preserve your heart, you always need to live being stimulated by the Word, and then you need to find a key word and meditate centered on the key word all the time. Without meditation on God’s word, you cannot get the stimulation to control your physical body. That is why God’s word is so powerful. Without receiving stimulation from God’s word, there is no way to control our physical self.
And secondly, you need to live a life of putting the Word into practice and touching the heart of others.
Really you need to live for the sake of others, always giving, always helping, always touching someone’s heart. This is the way you can preserve your heart.
