Key Points

  • The purpose of the incorporeal God's creation of human beings is to become the substantial True Parent who dwells in human bodies.

  • If Adam and Eve had reached perfection and embodied true love, God would have dwelt with them and become the Parent of true love for all humanity.

  • Adam and Eve, in the image of God, would have established an ideal family and an ideal world.

  • Because Adam and Eve could not fulfill God’s purpose, True Parents are the first appearances of the incorporeal God in human flesh. They are the image of God

  • To become one with them through absolute faith, love and obedience is to become one with God.

  • Our ultimate goal is to become a true father and true mother and to live as second True Parents before our family members.

  • Most people have no idea where history came from, how it has progressed, or where it is going.

  • History is driven not simply by the laws of nature but by God’s efforts to save and restore fallen humanity.

  • So, human history is not only a providence of nature but a providence of restoration.

  • Human responsibility can prolong or shorten that providence.

  • The purpose of religion is for us to meet God through seeking goodness.

  • People who have sought God and know his providence have prospered and lived longer.

  • Nations like the USA that have initially embraced God have also prospered.

  • The history of cultural spheres should culminate in the Hyojeong cultural sphere of heart.

  • Food, clothing and shelter are necessary for the growth of our spirit, not just for the survival of our body.

  • All things of creation live only in the present, are true to their God-given nature and always do their best.

  • We can live a better life than all things by doing everything with sincerity and love and by living in communion with all things.

  • Human beings cannot live even for a single moment without the God’s support. We cannot live outside the laws of creation.

  • We can understand the word “absolute” when we consider that our very existence absolutely depends on God.

  • Although we live on earth in a physical body with physical desires, we should live with our original nature centered on our spirit self for the growth of our spirit.

  • Just as fruit trees are needed for the production of fruit, we need food, clothing and shelter to maintain our body for the growth of our spirit self.

  • Everything not connected to love and the heart ultimately disappears along with the body.

  • For our spirit to prosper, we should always think, speak, eat, act and live for the sake of love.

  • Even a single word we should speak with our filial heart and soul.

  • “Oh, I am so hungry; I need to eat” has nothing to do with our spiritual growth at all.

  • Each single word, each joke, each smile, each moment needs to connect to eternity, to our spiritual growth. Then it has meaning.

I am still in Ohio.

Yesterday, we had an ACLC seminar at the Ohio Family Church. Wow! It was really incredible. The Holy Ghost came down. Many ministers, especially the women ministers, were so inspired and got along well together. On hearing my lecture, they had a great response.

I gave a speech with the title of “How to become a peace maker” based on True Parents’ words, and I introduced the Blessing and why we need the 43 day condition.

Several leaders from different denomination prayed together and Rev. Kazuo Takami as usual gave very beautiful closing remarks.

We took a group photo with youth members.

I think the spirit of ACLC here in Ohio compared to other places is very high. I can see so many prepared ACLC ministers. I really appreciate those who are working very hard to take care of the ACLC ministers in Ohio. Our Gloria is doing a great job. She is a very heartistic lady taking care of each of them so well. She has a heartistic relationship with each minister.

Later I had a chance to have a group photo with the youth members. I met some of the key youth leaders. Our Ohio church is really promising.

Today I’d like to talk about “God’s Model Ideal Family and Nation, and the Peace Kingdom” from True Mother’s Anthology, Volume 2.

<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between April 28 and August 19, 2006 during a 180-nation Universal Peace Federation Speaking Tour to Return to the Original Fatherland and Hometown. 89-90>

Second, God created Adam and Eve for the fulfillment of love. He intended for Adam and Eve to reach perfection and become the embodiments of love in complete union. On that basis, He would have come and dwelt with them and become the Parent of true love for all humanity. Adam and Eve, standing in the position of the parents of substance in the image of God, would have established an ideal family, and consequently an ideal world, through having their own children and multiplying. If this had come to be, the spirit world and the earthly world would have been linked through human beings.

We can conclude that God created us with the purpose of our being the connecting point between the spiritual and physical worlds. By coming to dwell in Adam and Eve based on true love, God could remain as the True Parent, the parent in substance of humankind. Moreover, when the time came for them to end their lives on earth and pass on into the spirit world, even in that world He could take on the spirit bodies of Adam and Eve and manifest as the True Parent through their form. However, due to the Fall of Adam and Eve, God has not seen that ideal fulfilled.

The purpose of the intangible God's creation of human beings was, first, to put on the body needed to dwell with the physical world. Second, it is for the fulfillment of love.

If Adam and Eve had reached perfection and become the embodiments of love in complete union, God would have come and dwelt with them and become the Parent of true love for all humanity. Adam and Eve, standing in the position of the parents of substance in the image of God, would have established an ideal family, and consequently an ideal world, through having their own children and multiplying.

True Mother emphasizes once again that the purpose of the incorporeal God's creation of human beings is to become the substantial True Parent who dwells in human bodies. Hence, True Parents who came to this earth are the first appearances of the incorporeal God in human flesh.

Adam and Eve were supposed to have been like that.

Therefore, the image of True Parents is the image of God. Accordingly, to become one with True Parents is to become one with God. We must think of the value of True Parents from such a standpoint, and achieve all love for God and humanity through absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience to True Parents.

That is why we really need to understand the image and value of True Parents. Seeing True Parents is like seeing God. How long God waited to wear the human body and complete his mission to become True Parents. Since True Parents came to the earth and showed their(?) life, there is no need (for us) to look for the invisible God. He has already shown (himself) to us through our True Parents. Father and Mother are a model for all human kind and our descendants and for the spiritual world. This is the value of our True Parents. If they had not appeared, we would not have known who God is and what kind of character he has. But because of True Parents we know very clearly. They have explained who God is and what kind of heart he has. They explained all the details. We need to appreciate the value of our True Parents.

We also need to live as second True Parents before our family members. Our ultimate goal is to become a true father and true mother as a man and a woman. This is our goal.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: Eschatology 5 - Human History is the History of the Providence of Restoration 1 - The History of the Development of Cultural Spheres

Human history can be seen as the history of the providence through which God has been trying to save fallen people and work through them to restore the original, good world.

Let us examine in various ways the idea that human history is the history of the providence of restoration.

It is a great proclamation that human history is the history of the providence.

Wow! I was so surprised to hear this.

Until now no one has claimed such a thing. Thus, the principle clarified the definition of history. So

However, True Parents made it very clear that human history is the history of the providence of restoration. This is truly an astonishing proclamation!

When I heard this when I was young, I was so excited! I had learned what human history is. It is the providence of restoration. I did not know the direction of history or where it was going. That is why I cannot deny that Father and Mother Moon are the messiah. The more I study (the more) I completely surrender to True Parents’ Principle. It is amazing!

The Providence of Nature and the Providence of Restoration that we Cannot Defy

1. We may classify God’s providence into two large groups. One is the Providence of Creation. The cosmos moves according to natural laws. For instance, seasons proceed: spring, summer, fall, winter and the earth has 365 days in a year. Likewise, there is nobody who can defy the Providence of Creation. Therefore, all creations adapt and live in accordance to natural laws.

2. Another undeniable providence is God’s providence of Restoration that saves fallen people and restores them to their original, pure state. In order for us to become true believers, we have to understand God’s providence of Restoration.

3. Let us examine human history as the history of the providence of Restoration in various ways, beginning with the history of the development of cultural spheres. (Dr. Yong)

We can just follow the providence of nature, but the providence of restoration depends on human responsibility. Therefore, we do not know how important human responsibility is.

The human portion of responsibility can delay or shorten God’s providence.

First, let us examine the history of the development of cultural spheres.

Through religion, fallen people mired in ignorance have sought to meet God by ceaselessly striving toward the good. Even though the individuals, peoples and nations which championed a certain religion may have perished, religion itself has survived.

Religion has endured through history.

In its history, China has experienced many cycles of the rise anc fall of dynasties and numerous transfers of political power, yet the religions of the far east – Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism – have continued to thrive.

In India, the religion of Hinduism; in the Middle East, Islam; anc in the history of Western Europe, Christianity have continued to flourish.

Many religions have left their mark on history. Among them, the religions with the greatest influence formed cultural spheres. The major cultural spheres which have existed at various times in world history numbered between twenty-one and twenty-six.

With the flow of history, lesser cultural spheres were absorbed by, or merged into, the more advanced spheres. Through the evolution of cultural spheres, as they were buffeted by the rise and fall of nations, four great cultural spheres have survived to the present day: the East Asian sphere, the Hindu sphere, the Islamic sphere and the Christian sphere.

The current trend has these four spheres forming one global cultural sphere based on the Christian ethos.

This demonstrates that the essence of human history has been the restoration of one united world.

The History of all Religion is Intended Primarily to Meet God

1. The history of all religion is intended primarily to meet God by seeking the good. Accordingly, even though individuals, ethnicities, and nations may have perished, religion itself has survived to the present day.

2. Therefore a person, who seeks the good, religion, and God, will be able to survive to the end.

3. All organizations and nations that persecuted religion eventually ended in ruin (Communism, North Korea, China etc). Thus, the first thing they have to do is to guarantee religion and recognize God.

Historically, great people have always met God. Therefore, leaders and religions that seek God and know God's providence have always prospered.

Also, the nation that accepted God brought great economic revival as well.

American history has been very short, only 400 years. Can we imagine how much God has blessed the nation of America because our ancestors in the beginning accepted God, worshiped him and put him as their top priority. They completely sacrificed themselves for the sake of his providence. That is why God blessed Christianity (in America), expanded the movement of Christianity very quickly and in the end allowed it to receive great economic (blessing) as well.

Individuals who have believed in God consistently lived a long time and were protected by God. Even in the Bible, it is said that those who serve their parents are blessed with a long life.

I like to read religious leaders’ testimonies, and I researched and studied their autobiographies and their books. I came to realize that those who delivered morning sermons lived a long life, and also those who joined morning devotions God (also) blessed with a long life. (In addition,) many financial blessings come to them. We need to believe in this!

Religion Shaped Cultural Spheres

1. Hence, Unification Church has to shape (our) cultural sphere. Based on the father-son relationship between God and humankind, the cultural sphere of Heart (shimjung) has to be established.

2. The culture of four great realms of heart: The cultural sphere of heart must be realized: the parental realm of heart, the realm of husband and wife, the realm of the sibling’s heart, and the realm of the child’s heart.

3. Existing religion developed the world starting from the cultural sphere of servant of servants to the cultural sphere of adopted son. Hinduism - Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism – Islam – Christianity - Unificationism.

The culture of the Unification Church should form the sphere of Hyojeong culture centering on heart. This is the final culture. True Mother often speaks about hyojeong, filial piety.

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Food, Clothing and Shelter are Necessary for the Fruition of our Souls

What Must I Do to Live a Better Life than All Things?

1. All Things are always true, they are never false. There is never a moment of void in All Things. All things live in a constant giving and receiving relationship in every moment with the sun and air, doing their best. There is no stopping even for a second in the development of All Things. Because if they stop, they will die quickly. What we must learn through All Things is to live truthfully like All Things. Then, how can a person do differently to live a better life than All Things? It is all about communing with love. When you eat, eat with love, and when you work, do it with love. It means to breathe with a loving heart, and when interacting with people, you should do so with love and sincerity.

Due to the fall of humankind, they fell into a position lower than All Things. Therefore, since All Things precede fallen human beings, God has been carrying out the providence of human restoration by putting all things first. So, in the Old Testament Age, a condition was established for humans to offer all things as sacrifices.

All things retain their pure appearance as they were created by God. All Things are always true, they are never false. There is never a moment of void in All Things. All things live in a constant giving and receiving relationship in every moment with the sun and air, doing their best. All things do not have fantasies.

All things do not remain in the past. But, it also does not go ahead into the future. However, in each and every moment they do their best, giving and receiving with the sun and air.

And there is no stopping even for a second in the development of All Things. Because if they stop, they will die quickly.

That is why True Parents said that human beings should use all things as teaching materials for love. This is because all things preserve the nature created by God as they are, and exist faithfully at the given time and do their best.

Then, how can a person do differently and live a better life than all things? Father said it is for human beings to live in love and communion with all things with a sincere heart without any voids with creation.

So when we eat, we eat with love, and when we work, we do it with love. Even when we breathe, whe should breathe with a loving heart, and when we interact with people, we should do it with love and sincerity.

What Does the Word 'Absolute' Mean?

2.People who know the principle believe that all creations were created by God, but many people in the world think that they can obtain everything in nature with their own power. Actually, everything comes from the Absolute, but humankind mistaken that everything can be obtained through their own efforts. People do not know that everyone is an absolute object belonging to God. The secular people do not know the meaning of the word absolute. Everyone, do you know what the word absolute means? People die if they don't breathe. So sleeping, waking, exhaling and inhaling are absolute. People die if they don't sleep. If you don't sleep and don't wake up, you die. Does anyone exist outside of these laws?

To what extent do humans accept God as an absolute being? Human beings cannot live even for a single moment without the help of God. Can humans live without air? Can humans live without breathing in and not exhaling? Can we live without eating? Can we live without drinking? Can we live without moving? This law is absolute. Does anyone exist outside of these laws?

There are many secular people who mistakenly believe that they can obtain everything in nature with their own power. When we realize it, we come to know that God is an absolute being in front of human beings. People live without knowing that everyone belongs to the Absolute God, the Creator.

All things and the entire universe are absolutely obeying God's law of creation. Only fallen humans are not aware of that. No one can live outside of these laws of creation.

A lot of people can't accept the word "absolute" and hate it. However, we must know that God absolutely exists and that we live according to the absolute law of absolute being. No one can deny this.

We should not think that that the word “absolute” is such a difficult word. We need breathe, eat, sleep and dream; otherwise, we die. We need to follow that absolute law, don’t we?

Food, Clothing and Shelter are Necessary for the Fruition of our Souls

3. Why do we eat rice? People say that they eat because of the body and because they are hungry. But that's not the real answer. Of course, eating and drinking are necessary to maintain physical life, but they are not the lifeline of a person's soul. Just as fruit trees are needed to bear fruit, people need food, clothing and shelter for the fruition of our souls. Therefore, if you live with a heart that loves everything, it becomes the strength of life for you. If you live without love, even if you eat and live, it doesn't make you healthy. So, even when you eat, you must eat with the values of true love. It must be the food you eat to gain the strength of heart. It should not be a meal eaten to fill the stomach of the body. Our soul gains more strength only when we eat food for love. True Father emphasized that it should be a meal eaten for the public life.

This looks like simple guidance, but I think it is very important. I realized some important things.

All things live according to the laws of nature, and only humans live ignoring the laws of nature and creation. Due to the fall, rather than living with the nature given by God, we live centered on the fallen nature inherited from Satan.

Fallen human beings live centered on the fallen nature centered on the flesh, the physical mind, rather than (on) their original nature. Despite the fact that human beings possess a spirit body with eternal life, they all focus on living a life centered on the physical body, which has nothing to do with eternal life. Although we live on earth, we must live with our original nature centered on our spirit self.

Why do we eat rice? People say that they eat because of the body and because they are hungry. But that's not a real answer. Of course, eating and drinking are necessary to maintain physical life, but they are not the lifeline of a person's soul.

If we live for the sake of our physical body, everything disappears as soon as we shed the physical body. Therefore, even if the body needs food, clothing, and shelter, we should not think that it is for the physical body. We should consider all of that as necessary for our eternal soul.

Just as fruit trees are needed to bear fruit, people need food, clothing and shelter for the fruition of our souls. Therefore, if we live with a heart that loves everything, it becomes the strength of life for us. Everything that has nothing to do with love and is not connected to the heart disappears along with the body.

If we live without love, we are not healthy just because we eat and live. So, even when we eat, we must eat with the values of true love. It must be the food we eat to gain the strength of heart.

A meal should not be eaten just to fill the stomach of our physical body. Our soul gains more strength only when we eat for love.

Therefore, even if we say a word, think about whether or not we are talking about something that has nothing to do with our soul. Words and minds that have nothing to do with the growth of our soul pass by like water and wind.

We may say, “I am so hungry. I need to eat something.” This is connected to our physical mind. Then when our physical body disappears, everything disappears. We need to know that.

What is the purpose of the fruit tree? (It exists) in order to bear fruit, right? Then when we eat something, “I eat for my stomach,” (this has) nothing to do with our spirit body, with our soul. That is why Father said, “Do not eat just for your physical body. Whatever you do, you need to connect to eternity.” This is important.

Even just one word. When we say something, are our words connected to eternity and to our spiritual body? Or not? Even though we speak about joy and say this and that, but is it connected to our spiritual body or to our physical body? (If it is only) connected to our physical body, it is the same as (with) an animal. An animal is only thinking physically, but humans are different.

Why do we exist on the earth? In order to bear fruit, in order to grow our spiritual body. That is why even if we just say one word, even just do simple thinking, is it connected to eternity? Or not? (Is it) connected to our spiritual growth? Or not?

When we eat something, “Oh, I am so hungry; I need to eat,” that has nothing to do with our spiritual growth at all. That is why when we have suffering and difficulty and tests and trials, our mindset, our attitude, even just (speaking) one word, is it connected to our eternity or not? Without connecting to our eternity and to our spiritual growth, it just disappears, flowing like wind or water. It has no meaning.

That is why when I use each word, (I ask) whether it is connected to eternity and my spiritual growth? Or not? Wow!

Even if we say a single word, we should speak from our filial heart, and speak with our soul. The words, thoughts, and actions we use for the sake of the flesh just disappear. Nothing.

When we eat something, we need to think, “This is not (just) for my physical body because I am hungry.”

We must keep in mind that words centered on our flesh will never grow our soul.

That is why we need to be careful. What kind of language are we using? Are our words and actions connected to eternity? Or not? Each word, each moment, is it connected only to our physical body? Then everything just disappears. Nothing is connected to our spiritual body. What is the purpose of the fruit tree? Why does it need to be watered and receive sunshine? It is not for the fruit tree itself (but is) in order to bear fruit. That is why whenever we do something, we need to connect it to eternity: eating, sleeping. “I am so tired, I need to sleep.” No! We need to sleep in order to take care of and connect to our spiritual body. Then we are not wasting our time at all.

Even though we joined the church ten or twenty years ago, why are we the same as we were before? Why can we not grow our spiritual body? Because whatever we do and our thinking is not connected to our eternity and to our spiritual growth. (We are the) same as animals. We are hungry, so we need to eat. We are sleepy, so we need to sleep. Then we wake up, “Oh, I am still alive.” ... Do we appreciate that we are still physically alive?

Everything that is not connected to the spiritual body just disappears. That is why we always need to connect to eternity, to our spiritual body. Then this kind of attitude accumulates and accumulates and connects to our spiritual growth. After ten or twenty years, we become very spiritually mature, spiritually dignified. We have already accomplished something.

But if we have the mindset, “Oh, I am hungry; I need to eat,” “I am sleepy; I need to sleep.” “I wake up, and I am still alive.” This kind of mindset has nothing to do with eternity.

That is why each single word, each moment of our mindset, is it connected to eternity? Or not? Even our joking or smiling, is it connected to eternity? Or not?

Wow! When I think about this, I am very serious about that.

Today we learned (something) very important.

Today I talked about “Food, clothing and shelter are necessary for the fruition of our souls.”
