Ep 900 - God's Model Ideal Family and Nation, and the Peace Kingdom Part 1
God's Model Ideal Family and Nation, and the Peace Kingdom - April 13, 2023
Key Points
Like True Parents, from now on until the moment we die, we need to live a life of knowing and following the Will and doing our best to leave behind proud substantial results of love.
TF: we must live each day as if it were a thousand years.
Few know that the creation of the homeland is the mission of religious people.
Throughout history God has been longing for one country that could be established as the heavenly nation on this earth through ideal families.
One nation – including land, people and sovereignty – is the minimum requirement for the substantial Kingdom of Heaven.
We have been called to liberate and restore our homeland, God’s nation.
The goal of salvation is “total salvation” with nobody left behind in hell – including those who have already died – and to create “one family under God.”
God seeks to save the whole through us.
Father continually called on America to care for younger brother-and-sister nations.
Dr. Yong wants to send American missionaries all over the world for the sake of total salvation.
While there have been multiple interpretations of the Bible be cause of its metaphors and symbols, True Parents have avoided such confusion by speaking God’s truth clearly and unambiguously.
Because each human being has both fallen nature and original nature, there has been a risk of conflict because of these differing viewpoints. True Parents’ clarity helps to avoid such conflict.
Because we live at the crossroads of good and evil, of mind and body, of husband and wife, and of subject and object, we need to follow the traffic lights of the Principle and God’s word and keep God as the subject in our life.
We should avoid conflicts at these crossroads and build good human relations.
While we are in the physical body, we should bear fruit in our spirit self.
We should never forget God’s sorrowful han caused by the human fall.
In our given positions, we should establish good relationships based on the trinity and fulfill our responsibilities.
Fallen nature is to assert oneself.
In order for our life of faith to be stable, we must establish the trinity of our parents, our spouse, and our children centered on God. This is our lifeline.
The Fall is the rupture of this trinity.
Husband and wife should respect and love each other and be as filial to each other as they are to God.

Today, as many of you know, marks the 900th day since the start of Morning Devotion. I sincerely thank all the staff, translators, and interpreters for their hard work. There are currently more than 30 people who do all the work for this Morning Devotion, including interpreters for 6 languages. In reality, a lot of money is spent here, but it is operated with your incredible jeongseong and offerings. Thank you again to all our brothers and sisters. Without your support I think we could not do it.
Yesterday, I had breakfast with one family. They are Jessie & Noriko Tenepre and their children, Jessup, Noelle, and Jeriko. They have such beautiful children! They even gave away another child for another family. Also, Noriko takes care of babies. In addition, she takes care of the Elizabeth Church as the assistant pastor. I really appreciate their great effort.
Let’s study True Mother’s word. Today I’d like to talk about “God's Model Ideal Family and Nation, and the Peace Kingdom” from True Mother’s Anthology, Volume 2.
<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between April 28 and August 19, 2006 during a 180-nation Universal Peace Federation Speaking Tour to Return to the Original Fatherland and Hometown. 84-86 >
Distinguished world leaders, Ambassadors for Peace and blessed family members who have come from all parts of the world in hopes of bringing about the realization of world peace, and building the ideal hometown in heaven and on earth: I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for coming together in the midst of your busy schedules to take part in this rally to expand and elevate the Family Party for Cosmic Peace and Unification to a global level, so that it may be reborn as the Cheon Il Guk House for Peace and Unification; to make the Universal Peace Federation a model UN-type organization; and, to make Cheon Il Guk, the Cosmic Nation of Peace and Unity, through the concerted efforts of all the nations of the world.
As you may know, this year marks the eighty-seventh year since the birth of my husband, Reverend Moon. On this remarkable occasion, as a co-founder of the Universal Peace Federation, which is to open wide the Era After the Coming of Heaven, I would like to convey to you the essence of the truth of Heaven that my husband and I have taught throughout our lives. This message is entitled, God’s Model Ideal Family and Nation, and the Peace Kingdom.
Ladies and gentlemen! On looking back, Reverend Moon's life has indeed been like a dream. At the young age of sixteen, with nothing but the buoyant spirit and aspirations of youth, he was called by Heaven and began to live for the Will of God.
This left no room in his heart for any worldly ambitions that he may have cherished. It has never been an easy path, but he has followed it for more than eighty years, looking nowhere but straight ahead. This was the life he was fated to lead, with no choice but to shake off the embrace of his beloved parents, and brothers and sisters, who clung to him, wanting him to stay with them. They endured great self sacrifice and walked a thorny path of dreadful suffering for his sake. It has been a journey through the wilderness that no one among the 6.5 billion people living on earth could ever comprehend. Even when he persevered through the hardships of prison life six times, he never let go of the key to the providence; such has been Reverend Moon’s life.
On looking back at True Father’s life, his life has indeed been like a dream. At the young age of sixteen, with nothing but the buoyant spirit and aspirations of youth, he was called by Heaven and began to live for the Will of God. It has never been an easy path.
True Father has followed it for more than ninety three years, looking nowhere but straight ahead. This was the life he was fated to lead, with no choice but to shake off the embrace of his beloved parents, and brothers and sisters, who clung to him, wanting him to stay with them. They endured great self sacrifice and walked a thorny path of dreadful suffering for his sake.
When we compare True Father’s life to our own life, what kind of life have we lived? Was it really a life of a single path, knowing and following the Will like True Parents? Or was it only a life lived for the sake of ourself or our own family?
If we think that our life has not been honorable or was not (sufficient) so far, even if it is from now, until the moment we die, we need to live a life of doing our best to leave behind proud substantial results of love.
If our physical bodies do not move, we will rot like stagnant water that cannot flow. So as long as we are living and breathing, we must move forward. It must become a life of struggling to save even one life.
Yuji Yokoyama and his wife, even though they are aged, still try to witness and go to the campus as a couple. God really admires them.
I think here is America, so many senior brothers and sisters are doing witnessing on campuses. I deeply appreciate that.
The (fact that) we are still alive means that we still have a mission to accomplish. Just as True Parents say, we must live each day as if it were a thousand years.
As long as we are still alive, we have a clear mission. That is why we are still alive. As long as we breathe and are alive, we have a mission to accomplish centering on God’s wishes.
After I came to America and started doing Morning Devotion – today is the 900th day – with you all, I have been striving to do my best to live together with you. Even if I live just one day, I live with the mindset that I will invest twice as much as other people.
That is why I run in life, thinking that I have to do in one day what other people do in two days. What other people have done in ten years, I run every day with the determination to bring (their same accomplishment) to you in just three to five years. That is my serious commitment.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: Chapter 3 Eschatology 4 - The Providence of Salvation
God’s Work of Salvation
• God intended to create a world of goodness and experience from it the utmost joy; yet due to the human Fall, the world came to be filled with with and sorrow.
• If this sinful world were to continue forever in its present state, then God would be an impotent and ineffectual God who failed in His creation. Therefore, God will save this sinful world, by all means.
• To save a person suffering under the yoke of sin means to restore him to his original, sinless state.
• Thus, God's work of salvation is the providence of restoration.
• The human Fall was undoubtedly the result of human mistakes.
• Nevertheless, God also assumes some respon sibi lity for the outcome because it was He who created human beings.
• God, the eternal subject partner, created us to live eternally because He wanted to share eternal joy with human beings as His object partners.
• Therefore, God saves fallen people and restores them to the original, pure state in which He initially created them.
• God's purpose of creation is the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven, which in its totality is God's good object partner. The center of God's Kingdom on earth is to be human beings.
• Ever since the fall of the first human ancestors frustrated this Will, the primary goal of the providence of restoration has been nothing less than to rebuild the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
• Jesus told his disciples to pray, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matt. 6:10.) His words testify that the goal of the providence of restoration is the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
We are talking about the goal of the providence of restoration: salvation. What does salvation mean? We are talking about the eight levels of salvation:
God’s Plan for Salvation
Yesterday, I talked about Family Salvation, and today, I will talk about national salvation based on Father’s word.
God has a very clear plan for the entire planet(?) And has a detailed plan for each of us. We need to unite with his vision and plan. This is the shortcut to restoring myself, my family, tribe, nation and world.
3. National Salvation
> Minimum requirement for substantial KOH is one nation
> National restoration
> Establishing God’s nation (Cheon Il Guk)
> Land, People and Sovereignty
In order to restore one nation, we need these three elements. We have heavenly sovereignty based on Unification Thought and the Divine Principle. The land is not such an issue if we have the majority. Many of them are blessed families who follow True Parents. As long as we secure the majority, we can (obtain) the land. This is not the issue. That is why the main issue is how to get the majority.
To get the majority, we need to focus on John the Baptist. If we witness one-on-one, it will take a long time. True Father already (has achieved) an incredible victory. He has paid the price. He has completely paid the eight stages of indemnity. That is why now based on inheriting his foundation, we need to witness to John the Baptist. If we find and restore John the Baptist, then his foundation will belong to us. That is why in order to secure the majority the issue is how to restore John the Baptist, how to restore the ambassadors for peace. Let them become core members. That is our job from now on.
Let’s study Father’s word about national restoration.
“For six thousand years of history God has been following countless nations, longing for and seeking one country that could be established as the heavenly nation on this earth. God has been searching to find Heaven’s loyal subjects and virtuous men and women. We must reorganize families, peoples, and nations with God as their center. Let us not forget that we have been called to bring about the day of liberation, the restoration of our homeland. The mission of religious people has been the creation of a homeland, but they often still maintain the selfish desire for personal salvation.” (15-280, 1965.10.30)
For six thousand years of history God has been following countless nations, longing for and seeking one country that could be established as the heavenly nation on this earth. God’s wish is to ultimately seek and establish an ideal nation on this earth through ideal families.
Therefore, the thing we cannot forget for even a moment is that we have been called to bring about the day of liberation, the restoration of our homeland, which is God’s nation. There are hardly any people who know that the creation of the homeland is the mission of religious people. Everyone just strives to receive personal salvation.
That is why all religious people and churches need to know their mission which is to restore the homeland, the substantial Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.
God’s plan is “total salvation,” that is, salvation of the world.
4. Total Salvation
> Salvation of all people
> The goal of the providence of restoration is to save everyone
> No one should be remaining in hell
> Nobody is left behind
> “One Family Under God”
Because God is our parent and we are his children, God cannot lose even a single child. He wants to save everybody, no matter how evil they are. God is the parent of all humankind, not just the parent of selective chosen people: (not,) “If you believe in Jesus, you can enter the Kingdom of Heaven. If you don’t believe in him, you will go to hell.” God’s concept of salvation is not like that. His concept of salvation is total salvation.
Why did God choose us as chosen people? Because he asks us to help with his (work of) salvation.
Let’s enter the Kingdom of Heaven together, not just us, not just the individual, not just our family, not just our tribe. Let all humankind enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The messiah needs to come to the world in order to save the world. We need to understand that God loves the world so much that he sent the messiah – not just for a nation, not just for an individual or family. He loves the world. That is why we need to think of total salvation.
When I think of total salvation, I always think about the mission of America. How can America help all of humankind. When he talks about America, Father continually says we need to help all humankind, to help our younger brother-and-sister nations. America must not have walls(?) or all humankind will surely perish.(?) How much he repeats this again and again.
That is why in the future I really want to send missionaries (out) to the world through GPA training. We need to send them everywhere. This is the mission of America. We need to save the world.
That is why I really appreciate that each of our sub-regions - 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 – are giving donations to nations that have potential in Central and South America, Africa, even Europe and Asia 1 and 2. I really appreciate all sub-regional leaders great effort to send money monthly. This is not easy. America’s financial situation is not easy. But I told them that at least we must (make even) such a small condition. Then America will never perish as the elder son nation.
Our job is not only for America. America needs to exist for the sake of the world, for total salvation.
“The purpose of the providence of salvation and of religion, is to save the entire world. Since God created humankind as His beloved children, He cannot just beat and kill them and leave them in hell. Therefore the goal of the providence of salvation is to save everyone, not leaving even a single person in the satanic world. God wants to take back every kind of human being.” <80-283>, (November 2, 1975)
The purpose of the providence of salvation and of religion, is to save the entire world. Also, not only saving the entire world but also saving all the spirits of those who already died, without leaving behind even a single person.
God does not just save the chosen people. The reason God chooses and calls people is because He wants to save the whole through those chosen central figures. In that sense, the reason we today were given a mission from God is because God seeks to save the whole through us.
Why did God call us? The main reason is to save the whole, to save all humankind. The Blessing means we need to multiply. We need to convey it to our neighbor, tribe, nation and world. That is our job and mission.
Because of this, the goal of the providence of salvation is to save everyone, not leaving even a single person in the satanic world. In a word, it is total salvation. Since God is the Parent of humankind, He cannot leave behind even one soul.
Our True Father clearly explains total salvation. When we hear Father’s words, our heart connects to the whole world. How can we save Africa, the communist (world), all of humankind.
If we have the concept of total salvation, our heart will automatically try to embrace the entire world and our heart will become wider and deeper. We (will be able to) embrace (people beyond) any boundary, any color, any religion because we already know God’s concept of total salvation. We are children of God. How beautiful True Parents’ concept is as the messiah tries to embrace all humankind, right? How (fortunate) we are that we have the same concept as our True Parents.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: The Four Things Emphasized in the Pyeonghwa Hun-gyeong
Man at the Crossroads of Good and Evil, and Spirit and Body
2. If you look at the words of the Old and New Testaments, many of them are parables. However, True Father's words have been handed down to us as they are, without symbols or metaphors. There is a high possibility that the words of the Bible, which are written in secret, will conflict according to each individual's interpretation. Because each human being has both fallen nature and original nature, there is a risk of conflict if they have different viewpoints. If we do something wrong, our hearts suffer because of the conflicts caused by our flesh-centered lives. Therefore, we are always at the crossroads between good and evil, whether we are going on the path of death or the path of eternal life. Married couples are also at the crossroads of whether they become one with each other and become a couple of eternal life or collide and become a couple of death. So, since we are always at a crossroads, we must clarify the order of subject and object. Ignoring traffic lights at intersections can lead to accidents, so you must always follow the traffic lights when moving.
Since much of the content of the Old Testament and New Testament is in symbols or metaphors, depending on their interpretations, our opinions differ from one another and conflicts arise.
There are more than 400 denominations in the Christian church. Can you imagine that? (It is) because of the different interpretations.
But the thing we need to be grateful for today is that True Parents have spoken about God’s Truth very clearly and without symbols or metaphors in a way that anyone can understand. Therefore, if everyone studies and practices True Parents’ words, there can be no way we (can) have conflicts.
Also, even though we know the Principle and Words, if we easily make a mistake and live flesh-centered lives, we can cause conflicts of the mind and body. Never forget that we are always at the crossroads between good and evil.
At the crossroads of whether we are going on the path of death or the path of eternal life, that choice is only human beings’ portion of responsibility. Married couples are also at the crossroads of whether they become one with each other and become a couple of eternal life or collide and become a couple of death.
In order for us fallen people, who are at the crossroads, to avoid accidents, we need to follow the traffic lights carefully. If we ignore traffic lights, accidents are sure to happen. Since human beings are at the crossroads of good and evil and spirit and body, we must live, clarifying the order of subject and object.
We need to realize we are not the subject; God is the subject. We are the object partner. This matter has to be very clear. If we put (ourself) in the subject (position), then (there is) conflict, and (there are) lots of problems. The order of subject and object is very important. God is the creator, and we are the object partner. True Parents are the subject (partner), and we are the object (partner).
What is the fall? The subject become the object, and the object becomes the subject, right? This is the problem. The archangel should have been in the object position and needed to serve Adam and Eve. Why did he try to become the subject? That was the problem.
We should always try to keep the position of the object. That is the secure way; it is very stable. If we always stand in the object partner position, then we become very stable. Everybody is our Abel and subject. Our job is just serving and loving and attending. Then everything goes along very smoothly.
In the fallen world, everybody tries to be the subject: “Oh, my wife, you need to serve me!” “My husband, you need to love me.” and parents order their children, “I am your parent and leader. You need to serve and respect me.” Everybody tries to be in the subject position and the owner of the object. That is the issue. We need to know this very clearly. (This causes) conflict, and serious issues always arise everywhere.
The body, which is the object partner, must absolutely live centered on the mind, and our body must live an orderly life centered on the spirit. If the spirit becomes the object and the body becomes subject, that is the fall.
And human beings themselves are not the subject partner, but we absolutely need to live centered on God.
God now has become secondary. He is not top priority. If the order is upside down, then individually we become very confused as do our society and nation and the whole world because the order of the subject and object is different. That’s why we need to have very clear order: the subject is the subject, the object is the object. God is the subject; we are the object. Our mind is subject; our body has to become the object. If this matter is very clear, everything becomes very stable. The fall means (that) the situation becomes the opposite.
The Four Things Emphasized in the Pyeonghwa Hun-gyeong
3. The first thing that is emphasized in the Pyeonghwa Hun-gyeong is that while we are in the physical body, our spirit selves should bear fruits well. The second is to never forget God's han. Thirdly, each of us is taught to establish a good relationship based on the Trinity and to fulfill our responsibilities well. Fourth, never have conflicts at crossroads where you can collide with each other but build good human relations to pass through well. Only then will our spirit selves bear fruit well. So, we must never forget these four things in our lives. Why is that? Because we are the ones who made God bear han. We are descendants of the Fall. That's why we easily act one-sidedly and break down the basic relationship based on the trinity. When we assert ourselves, all human relationships are cut off. There is no one who is not cut off when asserting himself and being self-centered.
I would like to explain again the four things emphasized in the Pyeonghwa Hun-gyeong.
1. While we are in the physical body, (we should) bear fruits in our spirit selves well.
2. (We should) never forget God’s sorrowful han caused by the human fall.
Human beings commit sin again and again because we have never understood God’s sorrowful heart, his bitter han. That is the issue. Why does True Father never give up and continuously keeps going? Because he is the one who truly understands God’s sorrowful heart and bitter han. That is why whenever we suffer any problem, we need to think about God’s sorrowful heart and bitter han.
3. In our given positions, (we should) establish a good relationship based on the Trinity and fulfill our responsibilities well.
4. (We should) never have conflicts at the crossroads where we can collide with each other but build good human relations to pass through well.
> Because we are descendants of the Fall who made God bear han, we have the blood of fallen nature that can make us conflict with each other.
We are descendants of the fall. Our blood lineage easily betrays (God), easily becomes self-centered, easily becomes emotional(?). We are the ones who made God’s bitter(?) han. That is why we need to be very serious.
> So (we should) not act one-sidedly and self-centeredly.
> If we act one-sidedly, we break down the basic relationship based on the trinity.
The trinity in our family is our grandparents, parents and children. We need to build good relationships centering on this basic trinity in our home with our parents, spouse and children. If we do not create unity in our basic trinity, how can we build good relationships with our brothers and sisters, in our workplace, anywhere? It is impossible. We need to understand how to build beautiful and basic trinity relationships in our family.
> When we assert ourselves, all human relationships are cut off.
Fallen nature is to assert oneself. If Eve, Adam and the archangel all assert their own opinion, that is the fall. If everybody asserts themselves, our relationships completely break down.
> Whether in the family or society, (we should) know that harmony is basically the center of that.
The Stability of Life of Faith and the Foothold of the Heart
4. In order to create a foundation of heart for our life of faith to be stable, we must establish the trinity. The trinity at home is my parents, my spouse, and my children. The Fall is the rupture of this trinity. Satan has severed this relationship with the trinity. In this relationship based on the trinity, when each asserts itself, the relationship is severed. Selfish individualism cuts all ties between parents and children, husband and wife, and siblings. If that happens, you will go to the path of death. Severing the relationship of the trinity is like severing the lifeline. Satan is thoroughly individualistic. If you establish a marital relationship centering on such individualism, you and your spouse will have no choice but to be impulsive every day. Husband and wife should be filial to each other as they are to God, but they are not. Everyone says they want to be respected and loved first, but they don't respect and love others first.
In order for our life of faith to be stable, we must establish the trinity. The trinity at home is our parents, our spouse, and our children. The Fall is the rupture of this trinity. The restoration of human beings’ original nature is the way of restoring this trinity.
That is why in our family, our relationships with our parents, spouse and children are very important. Anyone who does not respect his own father and mother cannot build a good relationship with his spouse and children. That is why we really need to restore this trinity relationship. Adam and Eve could not do that.
Due to the Fall, human beings formed the trinity centered on Satan. In the trinity centered on Satan, envy, jealousy, conflicts, fights, selfish heart, and fornication always become the center.
In this relationship based on the trinity, when each asserts itself, the relationship is severed. Selfish individualism cuts all ties between parents and children, husband and wife, and siblings. If that happens, we will go to the path of death.
Severing the relationship of the trinity is like severing the lifeline. Therefore, our relationship with God is our lifeline. If the lifeline with God is cut off, Satan enters that center immediately.
Why does Satan always invade us? Because our lifeline with God is already lost. When we lose our relationship with God, Satan immediately enters into our mind.
Satan is thoroughly individualistic. If we establish a marital relationship centered on such individualism, spouses will inevitably clash every day. Husband and wife should be as filial to each other as they are to God, but they are not.
Everyone says they want to be respected and loved first, but they don't respect and love others first.
Today I talked about The Four Things Emphasized in the Pyeonghwa Hun-Gyeong
These are a common point we need to understand very clearly.
