Ep 845 - The Providential History Of Salvation From The Viewpoint of The Principle Part 9
The Providential History of Salvation from the Viewpoint of the Principle - February 17, 2023
Key Points
The one who gives the most love becomes the owner.
Those individuals who love more, invest more, give more, and forget what they have given, will become central figures.
To love more involves blood (sacrifice even of one’s life), sweat (effort and hard work), and tears (heart and sincerity).
Investing means seeking to make the other person better than oneself.
Giving is forgetful and tearful – not counting what one has given and sorry one has not been able to give more.
The person who loves more, invests more, gives and forgets they have given more eventually becomes the true owner.
Individual salvation occurs when we take collective responsibility for the other person's faults and have the mindset to pay any sacrifice or indemnity.
Collective salvation occurs when we live for the sake of others and seek the salvation of the family as an individual, the tribe as a family, the nation as a tribe and the world as a nation. Salvation of the world is achieved when we take collective responsibility for the liberation of God.
Collective responsibility is to treat the mistakes and sins of our ancestors and of the whole as our own. And when we treat them publicly as a historical issue, take responsibility for them, pay indemnity, and go the path of sacrificing more, we can fulfill our collective responsibility.
Collective responsibility comes from the spirit of the owner to sacrifice more and take responsibility for the whole.
There is no such thing as retirement in the world of love.
We need to respect our seniors and value our juniors.
We need to inherit the achievements, contributions and wisdom of our elders.
In our church seniors and juniors should respect, serve and love each other with longing regardless of age.
A church, like a family, exists to realize God’s love.
The criterion for who becomes the head of the church should not be based on age but on whether he or she is respected and loved by the members.
Filial piety always puts parents first and sets an example of absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience to them.
Our families and the church, which is the extension of the family, can realize true love and prosper if every family and church member practices filial piety to each other and to God and strives to realize the Four Great Realms of Heart.

Today I’d like to talk about “The Providential History of Salvation from the Viewpoint of the Principle” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between July 20 and October 29 on a speaking tour for Koreans residing in the United States.>
Moreover, we have founded The Washington Times and other newspapers whose coverage includes the entire western hemisphere. This media foundation is expanding to 185 countries, to enable all people of the world to learn from one another and cooperate as one. Since my husband and I came to America, we have not incurred any debt to the American people. Rather, Americans ought to feel indebted to us. We have shared the blessings we received from Heaven with America. We have not received any blessing from America; instead we have given all our blessings to her. My husband and I share the blessings we have received from Heaven with the world. South Americans and Koreans have welcomed us, and the blessings we have brought to their homelands. Now the people of the United States also want to receive the same blessing.
Regardless of the opposition a person faces, the one who gives the most love becomes the owner. Those individuals who love more, invest more, give more, and forget what they have given, will become central figures. This is a universal law. In the future, please follow the heavenly way by offering filial piety to your parents in your family, becoming loyal citizens of your nation, saints in the world, and holy sons and daughters before God. Whoever can stand without shame before the family, nation, world, and heaven and earth will be protected at the center of the cosmos, and can then build a family that receives God's highest love. These people shall transform this world into the kingdom of heaven on earth. They will be registered in the kingdom of heaven in the spirit world and will enter an era of kingship both spiritually and physically, with God in the central position.
Such people are those who participate in the international marriage Blessing, which is to establish a world of victory, freedom, happiness and unity. I invite each of you to participate in this year's 3.6 Million Couples Blessing Ceremony, thereby becoming couples who are welcomed by heaven and earth and have found the way of eternal life. Hoping that we all come to have close ties to God and True Parents, that we can establish the true family and true global culture in a leading role centered on God's true love, and that we can build a peaceful and united world for the twenty-first century, I will conclude my speech at this point. I pray that God's blessing will be with you in your work, and with your family.
Thank you.
True Father and True Mother shared all of the blessings they have received from heaven (with) the world. Regardless of the opposition a person faces, the one who gives the most love becomes the owner. Those individuals who love more, invest more, give more, and forget what they have given, will become central figures. This is a universal law, True Mother said.
Whoever can stand without shame before the family, nation, world, and heaven and earth will be protected at the center of the cosmos, and can then build a family that receives God's highest love.
How do we become a true owner? True Parents said that first, we must become a person who loves more. To become a person who loves more, we must become someone who sheds their blood, sweat and tears more than anyone else for the object partner, the nation and the world.
Sweat is the effort and hard work to fulfill the portion of responsibility. Tears are love and sincerity. And blood is a sacrifice to love the other person and the country. A sacrifice that can even give one's life is the shedding of blood.
Second, in order to become a true owner, True Pa rents told us to invest more in the other person. We must invest 10x or 100x until the other person becomes bet ter than we are. It is not a complete commitment un less the other person becomes a better person than we are.
Third, we must forget that we have given. True love is giving unconditionally and forgetting that we have given. Giving and remembering is conditional love. True love is the love that sheds tears and feels sorry for not being able to give more even after giving everything.
In this way, the person who loves more, invests more, gives and forgets they have given more eventually becomes the true owner, the central figure.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Human Fall 23:Collective and Individual Sin
Categories of Sins and How to Uproot Them
3. Collective sin (Sin committed by a group): The sin that can be removed by taking the responsibility as a member of a group through the mission of tribal messiah. It can be removed by saving 430 families.
4. Individual sin (Sin that the individual commits himself) : It can be removed by offering sincere devotion, such as repentance, prayer, indemnity condition, fasting, etc.
Let’s study Father’s word.
The Way of Goodness is the Way of Sacrificing Yourselves for Something Greater
<15-264> The way of goodness is the way of living for the sake of others. For something greater. That is the way of goodness. Goodness is to sacrifice the family for the tribe, to sacrifice the tribe for the race, to sacrifice the tribe for the nation. That is how it is with the law of goodness. It is the collective responsibility related with Cain and Abel. People, however, don’t know it. You have to know it clearly.
Although you may say, “I need to be saved. If I were loyal to the will of God, I would surely be able to go before God.” When you join the Unification Church, you cannot be saved alone without your circumstances and family.
We have been talking about how to remove collective sin.
The way of goodness is the way of living for the sake of others. Sacrificing for something greater like this means taking on collective responsibility, collective mindset. In this way, collective responsibility means that we will pay any kind of indemnity for something greater.
Those who think, “I came to the Unification Church in order to gain my own salvation,” cannot bear collective responsibility. True salvation is when we take collective responsibility for the other person's faults and go with the mindset to pay any sacrifice and indemnity, then our own salvation is automatically achieved.
We must know that we can never be saved if self-salvation becomes our first motive and goal.
Father said that individual salvation occurs when we take collective responsibility for our family, salvation of our family is salvation when we take collective responsibility for our tribe, salvation of our tribe is salvation when we take collective responsibility for our country, salvation of our country is achieved when we take collective responsibility for the salvation of the world, and salvation of the world is achieved when we take collective responsibility for the liberation of God.
Wow! This is really incredible guidance.
We can remove collective sin, but in collective responsibility your sin is “my” sin, Adam’s problem is “my” problem. “I” am the one who takes responsibility collectively. “I” have to be responsible.
We should not blame anyone else. We should not blame Adam and Eve and all the central figures who did not fulfill (their missions). We have to be (collectively) responsible for collective sin.
This kind of collective mindset and responsibility are very important. Then automatically we can live for the sake of others. “My nation’s problem is my problem. The problem of the whole world is my problem. I have to take responsibility.”
Collective responsibility comes from the spirit of living for the sake of others. The one who has this kind of collective responsibility will become the owner of the nation, of the world, of all humankind. He or she really is the one who can liberate God’s han, God’s sorrow.
Indemnity and Collective Responsibility
<15-286> Human beings are committing historical and collective sins. Because those sins must be indemnified, good people had to go the way of sacrifice. We have to relieve their han.
<108-302> If some good things happened, indemnity should be paid inevitably. To avoid receiving the indemnity, the leader has to pay indemnity. Otherwise, the tribe has to pay indemnity. You have to know that you are taking such collective responsibility. Do you understand what it means? “Yes.”
Until now, providential central figures and ancestors have walked the path of unimaginable sacrifice in order to take responsibility and indemnify the historical collective sins.
So, how do we solve their hans and sorrows? We, too, must providentially and historically bear the collective responsibility and go the path of sacrifice more than our ancestors.
Collective responsibility is to treat the mistakes and sins of our ancestors as our own. And when we treat it publicly as a historical issue, take responsibility for it, pay indemnity, and go the path of sacrificing more, we can fulfill our collective responsibility.
Collective responsibility comes from the spirit of the owner to sacrifice more and take responsibility for the whole. Just as God and True Parents always think about the salvation of the whole, we too must think of the world beyond the country, think of humankind, and even think of the liberation of God, and take responsibility. That is the collective responsibility of those of us living in the era of Cheon Il Guk.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: The Church Must Be a Church That Exists Because of Love
The Reason There are Talks of Retirement at Church
1. These days, in many churches, there are often talks about how the pastor should retire when they reach a certain age. But the thing we should know is that there is no such thing as retirement in the world of love. In the past in other established church, there was no such thing as retirement. In the past, when the pastor became old, people would attend them as the senior member of that church. And even when they become 70 or 80 years old, they keep on giving sermons. A young pastor would try to inherit from the senior pastor by attending him like a father.
Just look at True Father’s life. Did True Father have a retirement? The reason retirement age systems came into existence today is because the pastors are responsible for not evoking the hearts of members to want to serve them like a father. Imagine if the church was really developing and the atmosphere was really like Heaven. If that church really had love and longing, and everyone tried to live for the sake of each other, they would try to serve each other regardless of age. Let’s think that the church will be revived because of the person in charge, even if they became old. Would people still tell him to retire because he became 70 years old? Retirement is not about age. Retirement ultimately means being unable to produce love. So, it means not being helpful to the church.
What we need to know is that there is no such thing as retirement in the world of love. In our family, we do not ask parents to retire from their parents' position because they are old. Of course, older people have to nurture and provide generous support for the growing second and third generations.
Our 2nd and 3rd generation inherit the past traditions and achievements of our ancestors and must do our best to carry them on. Any organization that does not respect its seniors and does not value its juniors will eventually collapse.
Just look at True Parent's life. Did True Parents have a retirement? The reason retirement age systems came into existence today is because the pastors are responsible for not evoking the hearts of members to want to serve them like a father.
So our church must create an atmosphere (in which) seniors and juniors respect and love each other. If that church really had love and longing, and everyone tried to live for the sake of each other, they would try to serve each other regardless of age.
We need to (create) this kind of beautiful tradition. Of course, the first generation needs to raise up the second generation and third generation, and they need to inherit from the elderly people. We need to have this kind of beautiful tradition in our movement.
“Because of age you need to get out, and you need to step down.” It is not like this. In America our movement needs to have this kind of beautiful tradition. Even though they may not be much involved in church work – kind of retired – we need to still respect and love them. We need to inherit from their achievements and how they contributed (to the providence?).
The Church Must Be a Church That Exists Because of Love
2. Of course, our church must raise young leaders. But we should not set that standard on age. Whether someone is old or young should not be the standard, but we must ask if they are really a respected pastor and if they are loved by the members. No matter how young you are, if you are not respected and loved by the members, you must step down.
A church is a church that exists because of love. Likewise, in the church, there must be an exchange of love between couples. If even the husband and wife cannot be respected by each other, that family will become hell. Why did the couple become husband and wife to each other? They became a couple to realize God’s love. If that doesn’t happen, the entire household will be barren and lonely. The children cannot become filial children. The couple’s filial piety towards Heaven bears fruit in their children. We have seen that all children go wrong because the couples are in conflict.
The criterion for who becomes the head of the church should not be based on age. Whether someone is old or young should not be the standard, but we must ask if they are really a respected pastor and if they are loved by the members.
And (if) they are a person with a track record of love or not. For a senior, the track record of love is how respected they are by their juniors. And for juniors, the track record of love is how much they have moved and how much they are recognized by their superiors.
A church exists because of love. Likewise, in the church, there must be an exchange of love between couples. If even the husband and wife cannot be respected by each other, that family will become hell.
Whether it is a church or a family, the purpose of their existence is to realize God's love. If this is not done, the church will be barren and the family will be lonely. And we can't give hope to our growing children.
If You Become a Family of Filial Piety, True Love Will Be Realized
3. We are well aware that due to the fall of Eve, to this day, humankind has had a history with fights between Cain and Abel, children becoming unfilial children, and families breaking down. We must be filial to our husbands and wives with the heart that is filial to God. If we become a family where we are filial to each other in this way, true love will be realized in the end. We need to know that God’s purpose of creation is to practice filial piety in the family and realize the four great realms of heart on this earth. The church is the extension of the family.
How can the church prosper and how can our families become families that realize true love? Due to the fall of Eve, to this day, humankind has had a history (of) fights between Cain and Abel, (of) children becoming unfilial children, and (of) families breaking down.
Ultimately, the fall came from the lack of filial piety. The cause of the Fall was (that) Adam and Eve failed to show filial piety to God. Filial piety always puts parents first and sets an example of absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience to them.
Therefore, in order to create a church and family that realizes true love, we must be filial to our husbands and wives with the heart that is filial to God. If we become a family (in which) we are filial to each other in this way, true love will be realized in the end.
Ultimately, we need to know that God’s purpose of creation is (for us) to practice filial piety in the family and realize the four great realms of heart on this earth. The church is the extension of the family.
Today, I have talked about "The Church Must Be a Church That Exists Because of Love."
Today I finished a little earlier. Naokimi will be happy!
