(Response to Reflections)

According to Father, God expresses his love and heart and emotion through his Word. That’s why his word is his love. When we think that each word is God’s love, then the more you read, the more you feel God’s love.

Since I got Mother’s word to go to Korea, I feel that God is calling me, spirit world is calling me to go to Korea ASAP to support Mother. I can really feel True Mother’s urgency and heart. So I prayed, what is the meaning for me to go to Korea? I strongly feel that I am the offering. I am the offering of the elder son nation to support Mother. Since I came to American you and I have worked together, investing our heart and jeongseong, and creating unity. And we need to bring it as an offering to support Mother. Not only just me, but I want to bring each one of our dear brothers’ and sisters’ hearts and jeongseong to Korea. I am so grateful to America’s brothers and sisters, and also Canada and the entire world. As you   know, roughly 7,000-8,000 people participate in Morning Devotion. I really want to offer this kind of jeongseong to the Korean peninsula and support True Mother.

Yesterday we had a farewell service for the senior pastor at New Jersey Family Church, so many people came. Rev. Takino came, an amazing guy with absolute loyalty. Karen Beebe gave a beautiful and tearful testimony; I really love them. And EJ, and second generation representative Yejin gave testimonies. I was really touched by their beautiful sharing. Resfred, who was mc, gave his beautiful testimony and President Naokimi gave his testimony as well. As you know I love Naokimi. Please support him. He is going to be an incredible leader. He can be a very great leader to support True Mother and the American providence. I gave my farewell message as senior pastor to the NJ Family Church. I testified that if I go to Korea, even though True Mother is saying there are so many difficulties in the Korean church, I prayed, Heavenly Father, let me testify that you are alive in Korea. I want to give testimony that God is a living God. Many people say it is so difficult in Korea, and no one can resurrect Korea. Heavenly God, I want to show the people you are not dead. You are a living God. Heavenly Father, I came here as the offering of the elder son nation. Even though I have a Korean passport, and am a Korean citizen, I came here as the elder son’s representative, as the offering of the elder son. Not only me, Heavenly God, all the American brothers and sisters want to help the Korean peninsula. So please accept my American offering. I really want to do my best as the representative of the elder son nation. This is my heart my brothers and sisters.

Representing each group, many people gave me gifts. I sincerely thank all the leaders and family members who supported me during this time. Of course I cannot concentrate on everything, because my schedule is so busy, I travel here and there. In New Jersey each one of the brothers and sisters is really supporting me. In the photo you can see so many members came to send me off. I sincerely, sincerely thank all our family members, staff, brother’s and sisters.

Today I’d like to briefly talk about “The Cornerstone of the Culture for an Ideal World of Peace”, from True Mother’s Anthology Vol. 2”. Afterward we can hear reflections from Sub Region 4. Let us study Mother’s word.

<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon at the Inaugural Convention of the Youth Federation for World Peace, held on July 26, 1994 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.>

The Cornerstone of the Culture for an Ideal World of Peace

Distinguished guests; youth representatives from 164 countries; students, ladies and gentlemen. I would like to express my warmest appreciation to you for participating in this inaugural meeting of the Youth Federation for World Peace. I am delighted to meet all of you in this beautiful capital city to discuss the important issues that are before us.

Despite our very busy schedules, we have come here today because we can see and feel the problems the world is facing today. I pray that this bold attitude on our part can lead us into the next millennium where peace, freedom and love await us. Today we are at a turning point in history. We are faced with an important choice. We can either be the harbingers of peace and love, or the victims of yet more wars and conflicts. What we do now will determine whether or not we can witness together the emergence of true world peace.

During the Cold War, there was an ideological confrontation between the left wing and the right wing. But now, with the end of the Cold War era, we are faced with deeper problems which threaten to destroy the moral fiber of our society and the sanctity of love in our families. The apparent breakdown of sexual morality and the widespread use of dangerous drugs have already taken their toll on our youth.

In the United States, for example, recent studies indicate that six out of ten high school students admit to having used drugs, 40 percent of fourteen-year-old girls will become pregnant before they reach their nineteenth birthday, and 30 percent of all children born are being born to single-parent homes. The HIV virus, moreover, has reached epidemic proportions infecting one out of every forty people in our inner cities while the suicide rate among our youth has increased 300 percent over the past three decades.

When we see the reality of the world situation we see how terrible it has become. That’s why True Parents want to teach to the people the importance of family values. There is no other way.

Since time is limited, let’s hear Sub-region 4’s reflections. Thank you very much.
