·   We will become completely centered on God and naturally deny ourselves.

·   We will shed the tears of gratitude upon realizing how hard God has worked behind the scenes so that we can grow and have the heart of filial piety to fulfill filial duty to God.

·   “Upon Your waiting altar I kneel without a word. My life shall be the sacrifice; I will faithfully obey.” (‘My Offering’ - Holy Song 10)

·   When Abraham offered his son Isaac as a sacrifice, his mindset and thought was that Isaac was not his own child but that he belonged to God.

·   The reason Isaac also did not resist his father when he was placed on the altar but absolutely obeyed was because he thought of himself as his father’s offering and God’s offering.

·   An offering can never assert belonging to itself.

·   Obedience is the voluntary action of being determined to take responsibility for Heavenly Parent’s Will while following Him.

·   We will surely pay indemnity for things we do without it voluntarily coming from the heart.

·   But things we do with joy and gratitude do not have any indemnity.

Today I’d like to talk about “God’s Ideal Family and the Kingdom of the Peaceful, Ideal World II, from True Mother’s Anthology 2”.

<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between September 1 and October 14 during a 40-nation Victory and Complete Freedom Rally to Bring Universal Peace to the Fatherland and Hometown speaking tour.>141, 142

God’s Ideal Family and the Kingdom of the Peaceful, Ideal World II

Such families contain the living root of history and the roots of the kingdom of heaven. In such families, the kingdom of heaven on earth takes root. They are the soil in which God's kingship is planted and sends out roots. The roots of the past, present and future are represented by the grandparents, parents, and children. The root of the past represents the spirit world, the root of the present is the palace representing the world today, and the root of the future establishes sons and daughters as princes and princesses.

By establishing such families, we are erecting the palace of peace representing the harmony of the two worlds, the spirit world and the physical world. In this manner, the three generations of grandparents, parents, and children should live together as one family and serve the eternal God. God desires to see such families, and it is your responsibility as tribal messiahs and Ambassadors for Peace to seek after and establish them—families of Cheon Il Guk, the kingdom of God. Ladies and gentlemen, you should form families that God will miss and yearn to return to after He has been away. He should feel comfortable to visit your home like any parent coming to visit his or her children. This is what it means to live in service to God.

What did True Mother say was God’s desire? It is for three generations to live together as one family and serve the eternal God and seek after and establish families of Cheon Il Guk.

Have you ever thought in your hearts that three generations need to live together? Our path of faith is a path we go on, establishing a will and a vision. Please believe that if you establish a will and a vision, great works will take place according to the establishment of that will and vision.

Try living with the vision of creating the palace of love and peace where three generations live together. God-centered dreams will surely come true, according to my experience. When I was young, since I learned Divine Principle clearly, I wanted to have that kind of vision and create a path of love and peace where three generations live together. That was my dream. And then finally my dream came true. If I didn’t have that kind of vision and goal, how could things work out? It would never happen. That’s why vision is very important. Whenever we center our vision on God’s will, our dream will certainly come true. Why don’t dreams come true? Because we don’t have that kind of clear vision and goal. God’s vision is really amazing. God’s dream is really amazing. God centered dreams surely will come true. That’s why when we raise up our children, we need to think that not just only 2nd generation, 3rd generation need to keep purity, but even until 7th generation, 8th generation. If we have that clear vision and goal, the vision really works. And we can create that kind of environment. If our mind is centered like that, our vision is like that, our dreams are like that, then the environment starts to settle down. That’s why vision is very powerful. That’s why as blessed couples we need to have a clear vision and goal. But it is not just setting up the vision and goal. In order to come to our vision and dreams, we need to pay the price. This is very important, without paying the price our vision won’t come true. Everyone can have a vision, a dream. But they don’t come true if they do not pay the price. No pain, no gain. In order to gain, we need to pay the price. Without sacrificing, without clear vision, we cannot get the result. How can things work out if we don’t even have interest or dreams?

Even if you are in a circumstance where you cannot live together as three generations, you need to maintain heartistic relationships by visiting grandparents and parents often. Our environment in Western society is not easy. Even in Korean society, Japanese society, it is not easy to get along with three generations together. In such a situation, you need to have some kind of heartistic relationship

Recently I was spending time with my five grandchildren. Wow. A one-month old baby, a 5-month old baby, and three more grandchildren 4, 5, and 7 years old. I spent all my time taking care of grandchildren. Not simple. I think even though my normal job is very busy, it is much easier than taking care of 5 grandchildren! I really appreciate my wife. She has no free time at all. And not only that, we have big baby, our Father-in-law who is getting more difficult now. He is almost 90 years old. It is not a simple job. But I feel a great, great happiness.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: Eschatology 7 Human History is the History of the Providence of Restoration 3 – Trends in the History of Conflict

·           Third, examining trends in the history of conflict.

·      Battles over people, territory and property have continued without interruption, expanding their scope in step with the progress of human society.

·      The scale of these struggles has broadened from the family level to the levels of tribe, society, nation and world until today, when the democratic world and the communist world confront each other in a final conflict.

·      This final war will primarily be a war of ideologies. Hence, the new truth which can reconcile religion and science will emerge and bring about the unification of the communist and democratic worlds.

The Position of Christianity which has Gone Through the History of Conflict

<17-73> Israel was established to set the standard of adopted children beyond the standard of servants. And they were to attain the position of God’s children of direct lineage beyond the position of adopted children only when they were engrafted with the Messiah by attending the one who God sent to them through 2,000 years of history. However, because of the crucifixion of Jesus, Christianity eventually replaced Israel which was in the position of adopted children, and has gone through the history of conflict. Then, what was the position of Christianity? It was in the position of adopted children. So Christianity couldn’t abide in the realm of God’s direct dominion. If Christianity had attained the position of God’s children of direct lineage after going through the relationship of adopted children, God would have directly dominated Christians according to the laws of Heart.

Israel was established to set the standard of adopted children beyond the standard of servants. But the standard of adopted children cannot come under God’s direct dominion.

The difference between the adopted children and children of direct lineage is whether or not they come under God’s direct dominion. If Christianity had attained the position of God’s children of direct lineage after going through the relationship of adopted children, God would have directly dominated Christians according to the laws of Heart.

If Christianity had accomplished that, after Jesus it would have gone through the course of pioneering without too many sacrifices. But to be in the position of the children of direct lineage beyond the bond of adopted children, you must meet the True Parents and set the conditions to receive the Blessing and clear original sin.

The Old Testament Age was the standard of servants, and the New Testament Age was the standard of adopted children. But if Jesus had realized a family through the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, all believers after Jesus would have attained the position of God’s children of direct lineage.

The difference between adopted children and children of direct lineage is the blood lineage. Adopted children were born from parents of a different blood lineage but direct lineage means that your blood lineage came from your own parents.

Children of direct lineage follow the laws of God’s Heart. The reason True Parents established Heavenly Tribal Messiah was for us blessed families to represent True Parents and change the blood lineage of our tribe and make them into true children.

The meaning of the Blessing is incredible. What is the meaning of the Blessing? Your blood lineage becomes God’s direct blood lineage. This is really incredible. So to be an adopted child means not yet entering God’s direct dominion. What does it mean to enter God’s direct dominion? If you receive the Blessing, God allows you to eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. But under God’s indirect dominion you cannot eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. To enter God’s Kingdom of Heaven; you need to have the qualification to become God’s direct children through the Blessing. The problem is, even though we receive the Blessing and our position is God’s direct lineage, God’s direct child, because of our heart and mindset, we still don’t get it. Our heart is not there. Even though externally we are of God’s direct lineage, internally our level of spirit is still very fallen. That’s why the Blessing is a conditional blessing. If you fulfill your portion of responsibility internally and externally, you can enter the Kingdom of Heaven. When we receive the Blessing, some of us are still at the formation stage level, some are in the growth stage. Some are already at top of the growth stage. We are at different levels. The Blessing means that under God’s direct lineage, no matter what, after we die we will surely enter more than the top of the growth stage. However, we need to wait, our spirit has not yet reached that level. We need to fulfill our condition. That’s why, while we are on the earth we really need to really work very hard and grow very well, externally and internally, and become God’s direct blood lineage. God’s direct children. Children of direct lineage follow the will of God’s heart. The reason True Parent’s established tribal Messiahs was for us Blessed Families to represent True Parents and change the blood lineage of our tribe and make them into True children. What is the main teaching in the Unification Church? In a word, blood lineage. Blood lineage is everything. We are not just talking about true love, true life. Everything is blood lineage. We need to change the blood lineage. That is the key thing we need to understand.

If Christianity had accomplished that, after Jesus it would have gone through the course of pioneering without too many sacrifices.

And then, the world would have become the victorious foundation by being absorbed into the realm of Christianity. But that didn’t happen, which caused God deep sorrow. God couldn’t fulfill His Will and had to take Jesus with the relationship of adopted children left on earth. Therefore, He promised to send him again and has worked for 2,000 years based on Christianity to rebuild the foundation for forming the relationship of direct lineage. Then, what is Christianity required to do? It must hope to be directly engrafted to the True son. Christians must inevitably hope for that.

What is God’s bitter sorrow? It was that He could not meet His children of direct lineage since the fall of Adam and Eve. And even though Jesus came, since he left without God having been able to fulfill His Will, He left behind only the relationship of adopted children left on earth.

The 2,000-year history centered on Christianity after Jesus died was ultimately to find and establish true children of God’s direct lineage. Then, what are Christians, who are spreading widely across the world today, required to do? Christians must be directly engrafted to True Parents, whom God loves, and be born again from the lineage of adopted children to God’s direct lineage.

The Last Days is the age when we graduate from the stage of adopted children and enter the stage of God’s direct children.

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY:

The Meaning of Faith and Obedience

Holy Song 10: My Offering

1.   Now I have to come to know, I've truly come to know, Father, how your heart is filled with tears, for your altar stands and waits for an offering never made. He cries through all the ages for still no offering comes, Our Father cries in loneliness for He cannot share His heart.

2.   Now I have come to know, I've truly come to know, Father, now I know your blessed grace; For you raised me from the darkness and gave to me new life. I live and stand before you, but now you cry again. My Father has to say to me, “Go and die now in my place”.

3.   Now pledging I will go, determined I will go, Father, now I'm changing to Your way, for no other will I follow, but go my Father's way. Upon Your waiting altar I kneel without a word. My life shall be the sacrifice; I will faithfully obey.

The Meaning of Calling Oneself an Offering

1. “I am an offering” means “I am my Father’s.” The lesson that this holy song shows is that I come to know that not even 1% of my existence is mine but that “I am my Father’s offering.” In this holy song, “blessed grace that gave to me new life” means that when I realize that “I come from my Father,” I will have new life. I will realize, “Oh~ I am not me. I belong to God.” Until now, I did not know who I was, but “I must become the Father’s child.” I will have new life when I realize this. To this day, we have been living without knowing who we are. Because of that, we failed to realize the value of how precious we are.

What is the meaning of saying, “I am an offering”? It means that I belong to the Father. When Abraham offered his son Isaac as a sacrifice, his mindset and thought was that Isaac is not his own child but that he belongs to God. That is why he was able to offer Isaac as a sacrifice.

The reason Isaac also did not resist his father when he was placed on the altar but absolutely obeyed was because he thought of himself as his father’s offering and God’s offering. An offering can never assert belonging to itself.

An offering is leaving everything 100% to the owner. What we learn through this holy song is that we cannot claim that even 1% of our existence is our own but that we are completely Heavenly Father’s offering.

In this holy song, the part “blessed grace that gave to me new life” means that when I realize that “I come from my Father,” I will be changed to having new life. It means that if I treat myself as the Father’s belonging, I will be born again and have new life.

Life of faith begins from the moment we realize that we belong to God. We cannot be resurrected or grow without realizing this.

Until now, I did not know who I was, but when we realize “I must become the Father’s child,” new life will begin.

To this day, we have been living without knowing who we are. Because of that, we failed to realize the value of how precious we are.

Now I Have Come to Know, I’ve Truly Come to Know

2. As we realize that we belong to God the Father, we will get the deep emotion of obtaining new life, and knowing that we received the great grace from Heaven, we shed tears with a heart of gratitude. Think about how much tears God has shed behind the scenes until we realize that we belong to our Father. “I live and stand before you, but now you cry again....” Why does God cry? We need to know that this is because God has the earnest request, “do not think that you are you but think of yourself as Mine from now on.” God is the God that cannot bear to ask us to die in His place.  “Now pledging I will go, determined I will go, Father, now I'm changing to Your way…” After realizing this, we make the determination to follow behind our Father.

Do you know what kind of grace will be given when we realize that we belong to our Father? First, we will shed tears of gratitude and deep emotions, knowing that we belong to God the Father.

Secondly, when we have gratitude and deep emotions, we receive the great grace of being born with new life. Everything is new, and you will experience a new heaven and new earth. But if you just conceptually think of yourself as belonging to God, there will be no change in your life.

So, try to really treat yourself as God’s. Your view of life and values will completely change. You will become someone completely centered on God and naturally deny yourself.

The third grace we receive are the tears of gratitude upon realizing how hard God has worked behind the scenes until we grow and the heart of filial piety to fulfill filial duty to God, coming from our shimjeong.

In this holy song, it says, “I live and stand before you, but now you cry again....”  Why does God cry? We need to know that this is because God has the earnest request, “do not think that you are you but think of yourself as Mine from now on.”

“Now pledging I will go, determined I will go, Father, now I'm changing to Your way…” This means that after realizing ourselves as belonging to God, we make the determination to follow our Father with the heart of absolute faith, absolute, love, and absolute obedience to True Parents.

What does faith mean? To treat yourself as God’s belonging. If you really treat yourself as God’s belonging you will have a completely new mindset. You can see a new heaven and new earth. You belong to God; God is your father. You are a child of God. Then your mindset completely changes. Even if you say you belong to God, but actually you do not believe, have relative thinking, complain a lot, blame people, etc., you are not treating yourself as God’s belonging. If you really believe, you cannot complain. If you really believe you belong to God, and treat yourself as God’s belonging, you can have an incredible and beautiful experience. You will experience so much gratitude.  So much happy love. It is an important point, to become an offering. We need to know that to become God’s offering we cannot assert our own opinion, because we belong to God’s offering.

The Meaning of Faith and Obedience

3. “Upon Your waiting altar I kneel without a word…” This means that after knowing that I am my Father’s, all I need is faith and obedience. That is why faith is to believe in ourselves as belonging to the Father. It does not become obedience without it coming from my shimjeong within my heart. Obedience should not have only appearance. It must come from our shimjeong for us to obey the Father with joy. “I will faithfully obey…” Here, “faith” means thinking of myself as belonging to the Father, and “obedience” means the mind of looking up to Him from our shimjeong.

“Upon Your waiting altar I kneel without a word…” Kneeling on the prepared altar is only possible when we have the faith of believing in ourselves as the Father’s. Secondly, once we believe that we belong to the Father, absolute obedience will surely follow.

That is why faith is to believe in ourselves as belonging to the Father and obeying. It does not become obedience without it coming from within our heart, that is, our shimjeong. Obedience should not have only appearance. It must come from our shimjeong for us to obey the Father with joy. No one can forcefully obey.

What is Obedience?

4.   What is obedience? Obedience is the voluntary action of being determined to take responsibility for Heavenly Parent’s Will while following Him. Obedience is not obeying just because it is Heaven’s command but the voluntary mind that comes from the heart. Therefore, our life of faith must come from the heart. We cannot just do so out of obligation or unwillingly. Even when cooking meals, it must come from the heart. Even when we are hungry, we should not eat because we are hungry. Even when going to work, we do not go to earn money to make a living. Even when going to church or attending Sunday service, do not go out of sense of duty. We must fix our mindset so that it wells from the heart. That is an obedient lifestyle. Actions we do that do not come from the heart are not acts of obedience.

Many people think of obedience as “just obey’. What is obedience? Obedience is the voluntary action of being determined to take responsibility for Heavenly Parent’s Will while following Him.

Obedience out of mere formality and obedience by force will someday rebel and strike. Among the attributes of obedience, the most representative attribute is a joyful and voluntary mind. So if there is no joy or voluntary mind, that is not obedience.

Obedience is not obeying just because it is Heaven’s command but the spontaneous mind that comes from the heart.

Therefore, our life of faith must always be voluntary and come from the heart. We cannot just practice a life of faith out of obligation or unwillingly.

Whatever the task, if we obey out of force or out of mere formality, it is just a waste of time. And know that we will surely pay indemnity for things we do without it voluntarily coming from the heart. But things we do with joy and gratitude do not have any indemnity.

A voluntary heart coming out, that itself is already a victory. That is why we need to do everything with a voluntary heart. Even when cooking meals, it must come from the heart.

Even when going to work, we do not go to earn money to make a living but think that we should go to multiply true love. Even when going to church or attending Sunday service, do not go out of sense of duty but we should go because we long for it and miss the people.

We must fix our mindset so that it wells from the heart. That is an obedient lifestyle. Actions we do that do not come from the heart are not acts of obedience.

Many people do not understand the real meaning of obedience, just obey. Even they don’t like to or whatever. One of the great attitudes of obedience is joy, and a voluntary heart. To only externally bow down, but not yet internally, they will someday become a rebellious person. We need to understand that point. I really respect Isaac, how he became the offering. Without a voluntary heart, he could not have become the offering.

Today I talked about “What is Obedience?” Thank you very much.
