• To do this, we must first discern good from evil, public from private, then maintain a voluntary and active heart and attain the standard to be considered righteous by God.
• All our blessed families must become righteous and cry out to God to stop God's judgment on our corrupt society.

• In order for God and the spirit world to be moved and cooperate with us, we must produce results worthy of being considered righteous, results that even Satan cannot accuse.

• There must also be a standard worthy of being considered righteous between brothers and sisters, seniors and juniors, and subject and object.

• We must find a person more righteous than we are and inherit his standard.
• We must live lives of receiving approval from the spirit world through righteous substantial results and have relationships that even the spirit world cannot help but recognize.

Many of you have already heard about our Rev. Inose’s situation. He passed away. I became very emotional yesterday. There is a reason God called him, so let’s pray for him.
For me, losing him is like losing one of my arms. I really appreciate his dedication and devotion. I really love that couple so much! How much he and his wife dedicated themselves for the entire providence.
Today I’d like to talk about “The Twenty-First Century and Become the Living Embodiment of the True Family Ideal” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at the 3rd International Convention of the Women's Federation for World Peace held on November 17, 1997 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC.> Most people lack the concept of filial piety, loyal citizenship, sainthood, and the idea of becoming divine sons and daughters. Without such values, it is no wonder that the world is perishing. Who wants divine sons and daughters? God does. Who wants saints? The world does. Who wants loyal citizens? The nation does. Who wants children of filial piety? The family does. This is the way of truth. No true parents would tell their children, “Once you become children of true filial piety, do not become loyal citizens.” True parents should teach children of filial piety to sacrifice their family by following the way of a loyal citizen in service to their nation. Also, they should teach children of filial piety to sacrifice their nation to fulfill the way of saints in service to the entire world. The goal is for all people of the world to serve heaven and earth, offering everything to God.
To achieve this, individuals should first sacrifice for the sake of the family. By sacrificing for the family, a person becomes a child of filial piety. To become a patriot, a person will sacrifice even his entire family to the nation. A saint has the heart to move the nation in service to the world. A divine son has the heart to move the entire world in service to the creation of the kingdom of heaven on earth and in heaven. Among all parents, those who live more for the sake of their children are true parents. Teachers who do more for the sake of their students are true teachers, and the president who sacrifices more for the nation will be the true president. What is the basis of individualism? One cannot claim anything as “mine alone.” As a child grows from an egg in the mother's womb and is born through the love of his or her parents, 99.999 percent of his or her existence is from the mother's bone, blood and flesh. This is combined with 0.001 percent from the father's sperm. There is no concept of “myself alone” in nature.
The fallen world lacks the concept of filial piety, loyal citizenship, sainthood, and the idea of becoming divine sons and daughters. However, the true path of truth is to go the way of filial sons and daughters in the family, patriots in the nation, saints in the world, and divine sons and daughters in heaven and on earth, as mentioned in Family Pledge Two.
Whenever I recite this Family Pledge Two, I reflect (about) myself. Have I really become a filial son – no need to mention to God and True Parents – to my own family? My mother? Did my father and mother really recognize me: “You are a filial son”? Can these nations of Korea and America really recognize me, “You are really a patriot”? Can the whole world really recognize me, “You are really a saint”? Can the entire universe really recognize me, “You are really a divine son”? This is our life course to go without exception, right?
However, it is important to know that the path from a filial son to a loyal patriot, from a loyal patriot to a saint, and from a saint to a divine son or daughter requires a greater sacrifice (in) each (stage). Everyone without exception should go on this life course. A person who sacrifices more for a greater cause is a true person.
Yesterday we had a Japanese ministry meeting. Some (Japanese members) shared about their dedication and devotion to Rev. Inose. I could feel that many of the Japanese members really appreciate his devotion because his life was completely sacrificed. He is one of the busiest guys here and there.
In order to become a patriot you need to sacrifice more than anyone else in your nation. In order to become a saint or sage, you need to sacrifice more than any patriot. The key is sacrifice in order to become a patriot or a saint or a divine son or daughter. Sacrifice is required. We need to understand that point.
What is the basis of individualism? As a child grows from an egg in the mother's womb and is born through the love of his or her parents, 99.999 percent of his or her existence is from the mother's bone, blood and flesh. This is combined with 0.001 percent from the father's sperm.
From this standpoint, no one can claim anything as “mine alone.” There can be no concept of self.
Therefore, all human beings must live for the sake of others. Humans were, in fact, created from the moment they were born to live for the sake of others. The human body structure as well as the human mind and heart are created in a way that they have no choice but to live for the sake of others.
The structure of our spirit and the structure of our body is like that: we need to live for the sake of others.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Human Fall 7
The Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil(1)
• The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil signifies the love of Eve.
• As a tree multiplies by its fruit, Eve should have borne good children through her godly love. Instead, she bore evil children through her satanic love.
• Eve was to reach full maturity only after going through a period of growth, in which it was possible for her to bear either good fruit or evil fruit through her love.
• This is why Eve's love is symbolized by the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and why Eve is symbolized by the tree.
• Eve was to have eaten the fruit of goodness by consummating her God-centered love. Then she would have received the essence of God's divinity and multiplied a good lineage.
• However, she ate of the fruit of evil by consummating her evil love centered on Satan. Hence, she received the essence of his evil nature and multiplied an evil lineage from which our sinful society descended.
• Accordingly, Eve's eating the fruit denotes that she consummated a satanic love relationship with the angel which bound her in blood ties to him.
Let’s study Father’s word.
To Separate Good and Evil
<31-18> The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is Eve and she became the mother figure of the two worlds. It means that she was placed between good and evil. Then who decides the direction of good or evil? You, yourselves must decide where to go. In order to do that, you need to defeat evil and Satan and then grasp God. You should grasp God many times more tightly than you defeated Satan. In other words, you must use all your strength to defeat evil and grasp God with much stronger power at the same time. That’s why the way of restoration is the way of indemnity, and the way of indemnity is a war of attrition. When Satan requires a hundred, then you should defeat him with the strength of a hundred. After defeating him you should grasp God with the strength of more than a hundred. In order for us to do this, we need extra power. In other words, our absolute God enables us to fulfill this with the grace of his 95% portion of responsibility.
The fact that Eve ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil means that Eve became the mother of two worlds that could reciprocate (?relate?) with both good and evil. In other words, Eve is in an intermediate position in which she can deal with the two masters, (one of) good and (one of) evil.
That is why Father said that fallen man is in the position of an adulterer.
How, then, do humans in this intermediate position decide the direction to go? (Discern) good from evil? Neither God nor Satan can do this. Man (by) himself has to decide (this). If God could help us, his providence would already be over. However, this is the human portion of responsibility to separate good and evil.
Then how can Humans Separate Good From Evil?
You should always have a public mind.
What is a public mind? To always think about others first, think about God’s idea and thinking first.
You should always be filial. Filial piety is a public mind. This is because filial piety does not live for oneself.
I am talking about a filial heart, filial piety for God.
We must defeat Satan, the subject of evil, and hold on to God.
I have to hold on to God several times stronger than when I directly attack Satan.
In order to strike evil, you must exert your whole body's strength. This course is the course of restoration and course of indemnity.
When Satan requires a hundred, then you should defeat him with the strength of a hundred.
After defeating Satan, Satan always strikes back. Therefore, after defeating Satan, you must hold on to God with the strength of more than a hundred.
Actually it is almost impossible to overcome evil and Satan with human power alone. It is impossible! That is why you need to grasp God and say to Heavenly Father, “I can’t overcome with my own power. Without your help and strength, it is impossible for me to overcome.” Then you need to shed tears and tears until God sympathizes with you. We cannot overcome. It is really difficult for us to overcome our own fallen nature. That is why we need to borrow power from heaven. Fallen man is very weak. Without borrowing power from heaven through jeongseong it is impossible to overcome evil.
It is absolutely impossible to separate good and evil by human power alone.
That is why you need prayer. When you pray, you can borrow power from the spiritual world. Without prayer, without jeongseong it is impossible.
It is possible because our absolute God enables us to fulfill this with the grace of his 95% portion of responsibility.
Prayer, jeongseong, meditation on the Words, and hoondok are necessary to obtain God's absolute cooperation.
Those who do not pray have difficulty experiencing the presence of God.
Therefore, the Bible says, “Rejoice always!”
... because “God is my parent; I am a child of God. Wow! Almighty God, omniscient God is my parent. God is alive. I am a child of God. I met the messiah. In the name of True Parents, of God, of the relationship between parents and children, I can overcome anything. That is why (I should) always rejoice. (I have a) relationship with God and True Parents, I met the Divine Principle!”
...”Pray without ceasing” ...
If you stop praying, Satan will immediately invade you. When you open the door, he will immediately come in. When you space out and relax, Satan notices. He immediately invades you. That’s why as a human being and a fallen man, you always need to pray ceaselessly. This is important. Without prayer it is impossible for fallen man to overcome.
... “give thanks in all circumstances.”
“Whatever I do, I am so grateful (for it).” If you have the heart of gratitude, this is your portion of responsibility. In any situation, do not complain. Do not accuse anyone. Do not curse anyone. In any situation you need to think that, “God has given me this course in order (for me) to overcome.” If you are thankful and grateful for everything, then Satan cannot stay with you any more.
Father said anyone who appreciates, his spiritual body can grow up through appreciation. When you appreciate more and more, your evil thinking, your immoral thinking, will gradually disappear. That is the power of gratitude. It is incredible. When a person has a habit of always giving thanks in all circumstances, a negative person becomes a very positive person. His entire life will completely change.
That is why appreciation, rejoicing and praying are important. The Bible says that this is God’s will. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances, this is God’s will. If we have this kind of lifestyle, we can separate good from evil.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: If Your Life of Faith is Righteous, the Spirit World Will Help and Give Praise
1. If we offer sincere devotion for others in hiding without anyone knowing, the sprit world will help in the background. Then they will infuse great power. We learned through Rev. Yohan Lee’s testimony yesterday that even though he went through great difficulties and severe opposition because of shrine worship, since he quietly offered sincere devotion without others knowing, Rev. Yohan Lee was said to be gallant and natural. What we realize through this is that people need to live righteously. Even if we are unsure of our life of faith at first and our spiritual level seems low in the eyes of Heaven, we should persistently make effort to open our spiritual eyes and do not become capricious in the righteous standards we decided on so we can be considered righteous and be praised. And if you know how to separate public and private good and evil, you will grow quickly. How happy would God be to see this? Think about it.
If we offer sincere devotion for others in hiding without anyone knowing, the spirit world will help in the background. Then they will infuse great power. Through these things, we realize that the spirit world exists.
Therefore, in order to become a person the spirit world helps, you need a righteous condition, a righteous standard that the spirit world cannot help but be moved by and must help you. To establish such a righteous standard, Noah worked for 120 years, Jacob for 21 years, and Joseph for 10 years as a slave and 3 years as a prisoner.
We, too, must offer sincere devotion without anyone knowing to set such a righteous standard. Someone may do a condition of 40 days, 100 days, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, etc... Setting a righteous standard that does not change at all will become a condition for the spirit world to help you. What righteous standards are you setting now?
For example, what was Father’s righteous standard in Heungnam Prison? In this very difficult situation he shared his food with other prisoners and worked harder helping other laborers. Wow! What a righteous standard! That is why the spiritual world had no choice but to help Father.
What kind of a righteous standard and condition do you have?
Even if we are unsure of our life of faith at first and our spiritual level seems low in the eyes of Heaven, we should set a God-centered vision and consistently set at least one condition to realize it. Then spirit world will definitely work.
“Oh!” Satan will say. “When I look at you, wow! This guy is ceaselessly doing some condition without stopping!” (Such a condition would be), for example, one-, two- or three-year prayer or attending Morning Devotion or reading the Divine Principle without stopping – continuously, consistently. Then it becomes a righteous condition.
What we need to know clearly is that God and the spirit world work with righteous people.
The Spirit World Will Help If You Have Results of Being Righteous
2. The unfortunate thing about God is that even a person with the knowledge to separate public and private often leans towards private circumstances, so when they become distant from God, how pitiable would He be? Rather, there would be nothing pitiable if one did not know the Principle. However, if you heard the Principle and know about it somewhat, if you go towards a private side, it is very miserable. That is why we cannot be people that cause those around us to worry. After distinguishing good or evil, private or public, yes or no, we must actively take on a voluntary heart. In the era of Cheon Il Guk, the love movement must become the center. Whether you look at Christian churches or our church today, we see a frustrating reality. That means that all righteous conditions that would let the spirit world work together with us were severed. For the spirit world to be moved by us and cooperate with us, there needs to be results of being worthy of being considered righteous.
Because of the fall of man, humanity became the mother of good and evil. Therefore, when human beings set good conditions, they are on God’s side, and when they set up bad conditions, they are on Satan’s side.
Neither God nor the spirit world can separate good and evil. You must know that you are responsible for the separation of good and evil.
The first step in faith is to know how to separate good and evil. If you don't know the difference between good and evil, be sure to ask an Abel figure all the time: “What should I do? Is this good or not?” Always have give and take with your Abel. If you are not clear (about) what is good and what is evil, (if) you do not know what to do or which direction you should go, then you need to ask your Abel figure. If even though you pray, you seldom receive an answer, then always have (good) give and take with your Abel figure.
There are some people who, knowing how to distinguish between public and private, do not follow a spiritual path but follow the way of the flesh. This is the sorrow of God.
After distinguishing good or evil, private or public, yes or no, we must actively take on a voluntary heart.
Next, you must maintain that voluntary and active heart and go up to the standard of being considered right by God.
When you look at today's churches, are they declining, becoming more and more corrupt without young people coming to them? One of the most fundamental reasons is that the righteous conditions for the spiritual world and God to work with us are cut off from each believer and from the church. It means there are no righteous conditions for God to come to us.
Why are churches so dry? Why are Christian churches really declining and have no more young people? Because God cannot find any righteous conditions or standards (that allow him) to come down. There are no righteous conditions. God can only work through righteous conditions and standards.
When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, there were not (even) ten righteous people, so he judged them. If God sees a country with the same environment as Sodom and Gomorrah, which is rampant with today's sex culture and the fall of youth, how will we stop God's judgment? All our blessed families must become righteous and cry out to God to stop God's judgment.
When Heavenly Father looks at the nation of Korea, the nation of Japan and the nations of Western society, especially at the nation of America, Wow! Such a miserable (situation), sexual immorality, all kinds of issues and problems and corruption! How can we stop God’s judgment? If all our blessed families unite together and make a righteous condition and a righteous standard, then God cannot judge America. That is why our main job is to create righteous conditions, a righteous standard; then God will sympathize with us and forgive us.
In order for the spirit world to be moved and cooperate with us, we must have results of being worthy of being considered righteous.
Establish Righteous Standards that Even Satan Cannot Accuse
3. When God and the spirit world looks down on us and there are substantial results of being righteous, they will surely help us. If we did not have righteous substantial results, how would the spirit world help us? On top of all this, we must establish standards of calling us righteous that even Satan cannot accuse us. It must be so that even Satan can praise us when he looks at our righteous standards. Next, we must be praised among our brothers and sisters, then praised by our juniors, and lastly, be considered righteous by the subject partner (Abel). The way for God to give us an official stamp of approval begins with being acknowledged by Satan establishing results of being praised by north, south, east, and west, top and bottom, front and back, left and right, senior and juniors, and Abel-type subjects. Then, God will begin to help us. Since we bear results on earth, the spirit world approves of them. True Father was such a person.
When God and the spirit world look down on us and there are substantial results of being righteous, they will surely help us. One of the reasons that God and the spirit world cannot help us and that our church cannot revive is that there are no righteous conditions by which the spirit world can help.
On top of all this, we must establish standards of (being called) righteous that even Satan cannot accuse us (for). What must we do for the Unification Church in America to develop? Certain righteous conditions are necessary for both God, the spirit world, and good ancestors to work together with us.
In that sense, Morning Devotion is a time to cry out, “Please Heavenly Father, help North America.” When we stand as a righteous person ...
The Morning Devotion that we have on the North American continental level is very important. The sincere devotion, our utmost sincerity, offered by the whole group will reach Heaven sooner than the devotion given by one individual.
In order to move people on this earth, your sincere devotion and standards of righteousness must first move the spirit world and even Satan. Next, in real life, there must be a standard that can be worthy of being considered righteous between brothers and sisters.
Next, we must establish a standard for being considered righteous by seniors and juniors, and then by one's own subject partner. The way for Heaven to recognize you is to start with being acknowledged by spiritual Satan establishing results of being praised by north, south, east, and west, top and bottom, front and back, left and right, senior and juniors, and Abel-type subjects.
After that, God's cooperation takes place in earnest. Numerous ancestors and angels begin to cooperate with us.
How True Father Was Able to Be Recognized by the Spirit World
4. What kind of person was True Father? True Father completely conquered the people in his life by heart and set a track record that God could not help but acknowledge. Therefore, we must also find the person in my own current field which I am responsible for, who sleeps last and wakes up first and offers devotion, and then we must move their hearts, offer devotion for them and inherit from them. Only then will we form a reciprocal relationship with the spirit world behind that area, and God can work with us. As Father came to America and did a 50-state tour, he invited leaders in the area, treated them in the best ways, and told them his purpose for coming to this earth. In order to seize the entire spirit world of America, even Father could not proclaim his mission on this earth without first receiving approval from the spirit world with sincere devotion and results beyond the spirit world, which they could not help but recognize.
True Father completely conquered the people in his life by heart. That is why we, God, and the spirit world must also set a track record that True Parents cannot help but acknowledge.
Therefore, we must also find the person in our own current field which we are responsible for, who (goes to) sleep last and wakes up first and offers devotion, and then we must move his heart, offer more devotion than he (does) and inherit from him.
In order to seize the entire spirit world of America, even Father could not proclaim his mission on this earth without first receiving approval from the spirit world with sincere devotion and results beyond the spirit world, which they could not help but recognize.
I am talking about righteous conditions and a righteous standard. Let’s have that kind of condition. How could God judge through Noah? Because of Noah’s righteous condition. When you look at Isaac, Joseph and Jacob, all of them set up righteous conditions and a righteous standard. How was Jesus able to be resurrected from the cross? Because he had a righteous condition to love all humankind.
Let’s set up that kind of righteous conditions. God works through righteous standards and righteous conditions.
