Ep 394 - Heavenly Latin America Blooms Flowers of Hope Part 1
Heavenly Latin America Blooms Flowers of Hope #29
Don’t worry about my health. I am really strong, and I am OK. As long as I breathe, I will give Morning Devotion.
Today I would like to speak about “Heavenly Latin America blooms flowers of hope” from the contents of True Mother’s memoir.
In my conversations with my husband, we often shared about Latin America. “It is a place we can never forget,” he would say. “It is where we devoted a great part of our golden years,” I would respond. It pains me now, for much remains to be completed. Compared with anywhere in the world, my husband and I offered our most devoted effort in Latin America. We offered devotions and conditions in the scorching sun, covered in dust from head to toe, to plow the fields of hope. Even now, I can close my eyes and vividly recall the scenes of the providence that unfolded in Latin America. That land is soaked with my husband’s and my tears and sweat. Today, while that land sometimes seems like a wilderness of despair, we are once again cultivating flowers of hope.
I chose São Paulo to host the Latin America Summit and Rally of Hope in August 2018. These events kindled the spirit of national restoration throughout Latin America. Building upon this spirit, it was the Dominican Republic in the Carib- bean that hosted the Rally of Hope held December 14-15, 2019.
We convened the opening event, the Latin America and Caribbean Summit, at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante Hotel and the state government building in Santiago. More than 500 people attended from 43 nations, including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Guatemala.
His Excellency President Jimmy Morales of Guatemala and five former heads of state, from Trinidad and Tobago, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Bolivia and Haiti, were in attendance. From the Dominican Republic, President Danilo Medina appointed Governor Ana Maria Dominguez of Santiago as his official representative. Other guests included 10 current and former speakers of parliaments, 30 parliamentarians and dozens of interfaith, civil society, business and media leaders.
Former first lady of Nicaragua Maria Flores honored our ideals in her introductory remarks, after which my emissary and daughter, Women’s Federation for World Peace International Vice President Dr. Moon Sun-jin, delivered my speech. “Ultimately, a true and lasting peace can only be achieved when we come to know and understand God, our Heavenly Parent,” she said. “Only by connecting with God’s will and providence can we expect to create lasting solutions.”
Next, I will add information about the Dominican Summit and report it. It was a really great summit held with the leadership of Continental Director Sang-Seok Kim and members of the Dominican family in a difficult situation in various ways. In particular, it was a summit held with the utmost effort by Dr. Chang-sik Yang, who was in charge of the North American Continental Director and is currently working hard as the President of UPF in Central America. Dominica is emerging as one of the potential country that can become Cheon Il Guk among many countries in Central America. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Sub regional Director 3, Rev Takami and one of the Japanese business leaders who are sending their generous support for this country.
On December 16th, 2019, the Family Federation for World Peace(FFWPU) revealed that they have proceeded the ‘Latin America and Caribbean Summit 2019’ in the Dominican Republic, with which they formed a close bond in the 1990s during the days of mission work in Central South America.
As the host of the summit, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon of Family Federation, the founder of the Universal Peace Federation(UPF), has given an address, read by Sun Jin Moon, Senior Vice President of WFWP International, and delivered the message that “she has given speeches that spread the true family movement and vision of peace during the Central South America and Caribbean tour in 33 nations,” and called upon those of Central South America and the Caribbean to “join the summit which is to be held in Korea, 2020 and together, realize peace through uniting with Heavenly Parent’s will.”
More than 500 people from 43 nations, including the Senior Vice President’s couple of WFWP International, Jimmy Morales, President of Guatemala, Danilo Medina, President of Dominican Republic, substituted by Anna Maria Dominguez, Governor of Santiago, Rosalía Arteaga, former President of Ecuador, and other current and former heads of states, presidents of legislative assemblies etc, has participated in this Summit, which is held from 14th~15th (local time) in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
Under the theme of ‘The main challenges we face in the current era: Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity, and Universal Values’, participants discussed about the settlement of peace and future development plans in and for the Central South America and Caribbean region.
Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon emphasized that “Interdependence means humanity residing all together without exclusion, mutual prosperity implies the sharing of resources, technology, and opportunities, and universal values means overcoming the walls of religion and culture, so as to being grateful for having the same root.” Moreover, she stressed that “the solution to global issues and realizing a world of everlasting peace only exists when we attend Heavenly Parent.”
Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon also introduced that “since the early 1990s, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and I have been running various educational programs centering on the Education Center for Ideal Families in Brazil, and have been investing and investigating a lot in the conservation and protection of the natural environment in the Amazon area”, expressing the bondage between the Family Federation and Central South America.
Tomorrow I will add more content regarding this Dominican summit.
Living Divine Principle: Section 1 - The Dual Characteristics of God and the Created Universe
• Let us begin by pointing out the common elements which are found universally throughout the natural world.
• Every entity possesses dual characteristics of yang positivity, masculinity) and yin (negativity, femininity) and comes into existence only when these characteristics have formed reciprocal relationships, both within the entity and between it and other entities.
1. The relationship of yang and yin are both reciprocal and absolute objects. Where there is a subject, there is an object, and where there is an object there is a subject. This relationship between subject and object and positive and negative has an absolute relationship as a relationship of dual characteristics.
This is a universal principle. No one can deny it. For example...
2. Man absolutely cannot live without woman, nor woman without man. Man and woman’s relationship is absolutely reciprocal and objective. Consequently, for us, our partner is an absolute existence like God.
3. Without a partner we cannot exist, multiply and act.
That’s why when there are yang and yin existing as dual characteristics, there is always multiplication and also existence. This is a universal principle.
4. Therefore, according to the laws of the universe, we need to create a harmonious yang and yin relationship.
• For example, subatomic particles, the basic building blocks of all matter, possess either a positive charge, a negative charge or a neutral charge formed by the neutralization of positive and negative constituents. When particles join with each other through the reciprocal relationships of their dual characteristics, they form an atom.
1. From the logic of the dual characteristics of yang and yin, gays and lesbians violate the law of creation. Can homosexuality reproduce? Can Homosexuality Create Offspring? The truth must be eternal, unchanging, and absolute.
2. The reason why yang and yin must exist is that they exist for each other, and they can reproduce and act.
If there is no reproduction, (the relationship) is not (in line with) universal principles. (With) only give and take between positivity and positivity, can you produce? You cannot produce; that means it is not (in line with) universal principles. Where there is a universal principle, the relationship of yang and yin definitely exists and definitely produces and adds. This is a universal principle.
3. The universal truth of the dual characteristics of yang and yin are that yang exists for yin, and yin exists for yang.
This is a universal principle, not just Unification Church dogma or doctrine.
• Plants propagate by means of stamen and pistil. Animals multiply and maintain their species through the relationship between male and female.
• As for human beings, God created Adam, a man, and Eve, his female counterpart.
• Thus, we can understand that every entity requires for its existence a reciprocal relationship between the characteristics of yang and yin.
1. Just like all creation, God is also a God of the dual characteristics of yang and yin.
2. God has a man's fatherly personality and a woman’s motherly personality.
3. That’s why we call God our Heavenly Parent. Not parents. There is only one God, but he has the dual characteristics of yang and yin, mother’s character and father’s character as well. If we say “Heavenly Parents,” this is a big problem. We need to understand this point very clearly: why Mother asked us to call God “Heavenly Parent,” not “heavenly parents.”
• Even though atoms become positive or negative ions after ionization, each still consists of a positive nucleus and negative electrons in stable unity. Similarly, each animal, whether male or female, maintains its life through the reciprocal relationships of yang and yin elements within itself. The same holds true for every plant (stamen and pistil).
1. Even in each human, men have a latent feminine nature and women have a latent masculine nature.
2. Therefore, God’s masculine nature and feminine nature exist inside of me.
3. Because men also have a feminine nature, they try to protect their partner like a mother would.
3. Because women also have a masculine nature, as a mother they can be strict towards their children like a father would.
• In people, a feminine nature is found latent in men and a masculine nature is found latent in women.
Based on this EDP content, let’s study Father’s word.
<279-243> There are two types of people living in this world, man and woman. They cannot change their gender as they please. Were you born because you wished it? We didn’t even think or want it and without knowing the cause, result, or process we were born like this. No matter how distinguished humans may be, we cannot deny that we are a resultant being, not a causal being. Consequently, there has to be the first causal being. Who then, is that being? Is it a boy, or a girl? It doesn’t matter whether you call the first causal being God or by any other name, the causal being has to exist.
Because I am a resultant being -- we need to know this very clearly -- because I am a resultant being, I am not a causal being. This matter must be very clear. I must live according to the causal being’s purpose of creation. My birth was not my choice and my death is also not my choice. And I cannot live according to my own wishes either.
You can live a worthy life only when you live according to the purpose of creation. Therefore, all human beings must live according to God’s Principle and purpose of creation and according to the Will of the Creator. All human beings must have absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience to God's principle of creation. That’s why the Divine Principle clearly says that God’s purpose of creation should be the purpose of my life because I am a resultant being. I am not a causal being. God has a blueprint for me, for human beings. That is why I need to adjust according to God’s blueprint, which is God’s purpose of creation.
If I am the Creator, I can decide everything by myself. However, we must know that human beings are resultant beings before God. If this matter is not clear, then you have lost the purpose of your life. Wow! This is amazing. We are created by God. God is my subject, and I am the object partner. We need to know very clearly who is the subject partner, who is the object partner. I am not the subject partner. I was the one who was created by God. He is my creator. I am the object partner. I cannot decide anything: my birth, my death. I cannot decide these by myself. Even the purpose of my life needs to follow God’s original blueprint. If you go your own way, you completely destroy the principle of the universe.
The Difference Between Destiny and Unchanging Destiny
I have spoken about this many times; I would like to remind you again.
1. You can change your destiny, but you cannot change your unchanging destiny.
You can change your destiny with your dream, your goal, your determination, your will power. You can change your destiny. However, there is one thing you cannot change, namely, your unchanging destiny. You were born as a man; you cannot change this. You cannot change your own father and mother; they are your same blood lineage. Even though you (may) dislike your father and mother, you cannot change your father and mother. No matter what, you cannot change your own children because they are your same blood lineage. You cannot change your own physical brothers and sisters because they are from your same blood lineage. That is unchanging destiny.
2. It is unchanging destiny to be born as a man or woman. Likewise, your relationship with God is not destiny, but unchanging destiny.
Whoever opposes this universal principle will surely decline. You were born as a man and want to become a woman? You were born as a woman but want to become a man? This totally violates universal principles. This is really a sin of sins. (Anyone who) opposes universal principles cannot survive. (Then my lineage will be) finished with my generation. Do you understand what I mean? This is a very important point. According to the point of the Principle of Creation, what is sin and what is not, we need to understand this point.
3. You are a resultant being, not a causal being. Therefore, you can not decide your time of birth or death.
4. Because we are resultant beings, we can not exist without God as the causal being.
That is why Heavenly Father cannot abandon human beings. Because of what? Because of unchanging destiny. God created human beings as his own sons and daughters. According to the principle of unchanging destiny, he cannot give up on any human being. No matter how bad we are, he cannot change because God is the causal being and we are resultant beings. He is our parent; we are his children. How can he change? This is unchanging destiny. That is why the relationship between God and me is unchanging destiny.
No matter how bad a guy you are, even if you go to the hell of hells, he cannot change (this relationship) forever. God, no matter what, needs to bring him back to his bosom. That is God’s unchanging destiny. We are fallen human beings; no matter how much we dislike God, no matter how much we deny God -- “God does not exist!” God definitely does exist.
Our destiny is to go back to God’s bosom because of unchanging destiny. Between my mind and body is unchanging destiny. Between my parents and myself is unchanging destiny. Between siblings is unchanging destiny. It is the same thing. Once I marry somebody and we mix blood lineages, this becomes an unchanging destiny. We cannot separate (this union). That is God’s universal principle. Someone may struggle with me and struggle with this principle, but the principle is the principle, the truth is truth. I am telling you.
Purpose of the Existence of the World of Creation
<279-244> If you look at creation, regardless of mineral, plant, or animal world, the higher subjective and objective being absorbs the lower subjective and objective being and develops its existence. Why can we see such phenomena? This is because all beings in creation have the responsibility to complete the lord of all creation, human beings.
Minerals need to exist for a higher purpose, that of the plant. The plant also needs to exist for a higher purpose; the plant exists for the sake of animals; Animals exist for the sake of a higher subject being, for the sake of human beings. How about human beings? They need to exist for a higher purpose as well -- for the sake of God. This is a very clear order and clear purpose. We need to understand this purpose of existence of the world of creation.
What Do Men and Women Center on to Become One?
<279-244> Around what axis do subject and object, or yang and yin, unite? Kissing? Love is not only a concept but also reality. What is the reality upon which love can settle?
There is something you do not know. You do not know what makes man a man and woman a woman. It is none other than the sexual organs. Is there anyone who dislikes them? If you like them, how much do you like them? Until now, you may not have thought it virtuous to value the sexual organs, but from now on you should cherish them.
Wow! This is really important content. Love is not only a concept: I love you, you love me. Of course, love is very real and reality, but we need to have substantial reality. Father asked, “What is the reality upon which love can settle?” Centering on where? What is the reality of true love substantially? That is the sexual organs. How can we say we are a man? How can we say we are a woman? The sexual organs are different, woman’s sexual organ, man’s sexual organ. How can we decide whether you are a man or a woman? The sexual organ. How can we unite together physically and spiritually, all together? Without sexual relationships -- just saying “I love you. You love me” between husband and wife, that is not substantial love. Substantial means spiritually and physically involved together between husband and wife centered on the sexual organ.
Who Owns My Sexual Organs?
Who owns the male and female organs? The owner of the husband’s sexual organ is his wife, and the owner of the wife’s sexual organ is her husband. We did not know that a person’s sexual organ is owned by someone of the opposite sex. This is a simple truth, which is undeniable. Even after history progresses for thousands of years, this truth will not change.
Typically, a man thinks his sexual organ belongs to himself, and a woman thinks her sexual organ is her own. That is why the world is perishing. Everyone has been mistaken concerning the ownership of the sexual organs. People have been thinking that love is absolute, eternal and dream-like, but had they known that the ownership of eternal love lies with the opposite sex, the world would not have become like it is today.
Wow! This is revolutionary. It is very clearly declared. Who is the owner of my sexual organ? Many think, “My sexual organ belongs to me because my sexual organ is always with me.” This is a wrong understanding. Why? Father said very clearly, “According to universal principles, man was born for the sake of the woman. Woman was born and exists for the sake of man. Man for woman; woman for man. That is why the man’s owner is a woman, and the woman’s owner is a man.
Then how about the sexual organs? According to the universal principle, sexual organs are the same. Plus exists for the sake of the minus; minus exists for the sake of the plus. Am I right? That means the plus owner is minus; the minus owner is plus. Minus itself cannot exist alone. It is the same. Father said according to universal principles my sexual organs don’t belong to me; my sexual organs belong to my spouse. Wow!
Eve thought that her sexual organs belonged to her. That is why she could misuse her sexual organs. If she had known the universal principle clearly that “My sexual organs belong to Adam.” Adam would have thought, “My sexual organ belongs to Eve centering on God.” If they had known that principle -- that their sexual organ belongs to their opposite partner -- they would have needed to get permission.
In order to use my sexual organ, I need to get permission because my sexual organ belongs to my spouse. I need to get permission. You cannot use it by yourself. How clear the Divine Principle is! Father said there is no spare key between husband and wife. I will share more about this content tomorrow. Without understanding the Principle of Creation we cannot solve many problems.
Today’s Youth Ministry: Abraham Who Overcame Sufferings
1. Abraham's three major sufferings, which were the pain of severing blood ties from his ancestors, the pain of severing his marital relationship, and the pain of severing ties with his own child, hurt as much as being killed. Think of how great God's suffering must have been for God to give up his original Garden of Eden to Satan because of the Fall of man, to give his only son Adam to Satan, and to suffer the separation between Adam and Eve.
Yesterday we learned about Abraham’s three great sufferings.
2. In order to overcome all these things, you cannot restore unless you pay the price with more pain. To understand the feelings of a parent who lost a child, you cannot comfort the other parent unless you are in the same position as them. To comfort God's heart who suffered because of the Fall of Adam and Eve, fallen human beings cannot liberate God's suffering unless they follow the same path. Know the Principle that restoration is possible by paying the same price in the course of indemnity. If we do not know this indemnity course and only look externally at the providence that God is leading, we can see God as a cruel God.
In order to understand my partner’s situation, I need to understand my spouse’s heart. I need to understand her background -- how she grew up, what her relationship with her parents was, how much she has suffered here and there. When you truly understand that person’s heart, then you can relate to that person. Our Heavenly God lost his entire property, the universe. He lost his begotten son; he lost his begotten daughter. He lost everything.
Then how can we communicate with God? In order to liberate God, without understanding God’s pain, how can I say, “Are you OK?”(?) In order to liberate God, in order to release God’s pain, I need to understand his pain, his sorrow, his tears. I need to have the same kind of experience (as he has had); otherwise I will never understand the heart of God. That is why God’s pain and suffering appear to (through?) Abraham’s course. Throughout human history all kinds of suffering and hardship expressed God’s suffering and difficulties.
3. The way of indemnity is, in a word, a way where you must prepare yourself for death and follow God. Pain is resolved when it encounters greater pain, and suffering is comforted when it encounters greater suffering. The three great sufferings of Abraham shown through Abraham’s family are representative examples of all the suffering God went through when losing Adam’s family.
4. Abraham walked the path of suffering without changing in front of the Will of God, and God was so happy that He said, “I am the God of Abraham.” He did not say that Abraham was His son. He said, “I am the God of Abraham.” That means the child is better than their parents. It means that Abraham moved God’s heart. When you move someone, it means that you won over the other person.
Even though he failed when he offered the three offerings, he was really determined and he really realized his mistakes. Since that time he went through the pain of giving his wife to other kings, and he followed God’s direction to offer his son, Isaac. He completely denied himself. However, (what about) his internal heart? How painful it was when he gave his wife to kings and offered his son. His son became an offering. Wow! He put God first. He put God first. Offering Isaac meant offering himself; killing Isaac meant killing himself. When he completely put God first, then God appeared to him. “Now you know my heart.” God confessed that from now on “I am the God of Abraham.” This was encouragement(?) by God. This meant that he won over God’s heart.
That is why I envy him. All of my life, (I have) dedicated so much (?) (I hope I can) contribute something for the sake of God’s will. At the end, (I, too, hope that) God really can say to me that “I am the God of Dr. Yong;” even True Father can say, “I am the Father Moon of Dr Yong;” even True Mother can say, “I am the Mother Moon of Dr. Yong;” and Jesus can say, “I am Jesus of Dr Yong.” I still have far to go.
How did Abraham build the parent-child relationship between God and himself? Can you imagine? He built a father-and-son relationship. (It was) so painful. (He experienced) so much suffering. But Abraham did very well. He really understood God’s heart.
5. God did not call Abraham the “Son of God,” in other words, He did not say that Abraham belonged to God, but rather that God belonged to Abraham. What we can see here is that parents want their children to be better than them. God also wants humans to be better than Him.
Abraham overcame suffering. How can we overcome our suffering without meeting God’s heart? When any suffering comes to us, we need to treat it as God’s suffering, God’s pain. When my pain meets greater pain, which is God’s pain, then we can resolve our pain. We can learn many things from our central figures. The most important thing is, whether he failed his main mission or not, why he failed, why he did not offer it properly is secondary. The most important thing is heart: when we completely inherit God’s heart, when we completely understand God’s situation. Then we are the ones who truly become God’s sons and daughters. Then we are the ones who truly can build a parent-and-child relationship.
I hope at the end of your life, God will say, “I am the God of <somebody>.” When we hear that kind of testimony from God, from True Father, from True Mother, we will be able to say, “We are truly God’s filial sons and daughters, True Parents’ filial sons and daughters.”
Thank you.
(Response to sharing) Of course, Abraham is great, but when I think about Isaac, Wow! How could he obey to that extent. According to Father’s word, his blood quality was different. He really inherited from his mother. His mother completely denied herself. Her husband said she should go to the outside king, and she obeyed. She completely united with Abraham. That is why when there is unity and harmony between husband and wife, the quality of children is completely different. I always reflect when I see my children’s fallen nature, I always repent. The quality of my blood lineage is like that. My children have inherited from me. I always reflect about myself.
How could Isaac be so obedient? How could he become such a filial son? I really want to encourage young people not to make the same mistakes I made. Create beautiful unity between husband and wife; then your children’s quality will be different. They will become like Isaac. When you are blessed, make unity with your wife. Then you will produce a different quality of children.
Beginning of a Heavenly Unified World, Raising #28
(Response to sharing) Now more (members of the) second generation are joining our morning devotion. Morning devotion is becoming global, megachurch morning devotion, mega community. Every day we check: more than 10,000 people are watching. This has already become a mega morning devotion community.
I am very strong. Only my voice is a little gone. I am very strong.
Yesterday morning, I went to Greater Louisville Family Church to have breakfast together with brothers and sisters. This breakfast meeting was also a victory celebration for the Saturdays’ Marriage Blessing Summit, so we also cut a victory cake. I asked each member to share their reflection about the Summit. State Leader Rev. Norm Presley also shared his testimony how he brought Bishop Bernie Wade and his family to the summit. While listening to members’ reflections, I received a lot of new inspirations, and I shared with members there. Despite many challenges, the first trip of my 2nd 50-state tour was successfully completed in Kentucky. I really appreciate our subregional leaders, three leaders, (especially) Takami’s couple, beautiful leadership. All leaders were really united with Rev. Takami and created beautiful unity and harmony. And also I personally appreciated our state leader, Rev. Norm Presley.
Today, I would like to speak with the title “Beginning of a Heavenly Unified World, Raising the Banner of Victory in Oceania” from the contents of True Mother’s memoir. Yesterday I shared a part, and today I will share another part.
<Mother of Peace, Pages 332-333> “The following day, December 10, attendees of the Asia Pacific First Ladies Summit 2019 gathered at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center. The opening ceremony began with an address by the first lady. Then my emissary and daughter-in-law, Women’s Federation for World Peace International President Moon Hoon-sook, read the founder’s message on my behalf. Through her, I conveyed my love not only for Palau but for all of Oceania, the starting point of the Pacific civilization. In the past, Father Moon proclaimed the advent of “the Pacific Rim Era” and emphasized the providential importance of the Asia-Pacific region. In 1992, he wrote in his calligraphic Chinese characters, “The Unified World Will Begin in Oceania,” and offered prayers and other spiritual conditions for the restoration of Oceania to God.
The 40-day Cosmic Canaan Course for the Settlement of Cheon Il Guk created the foundation for an “Asia-Pacific Union.” I gained national-level support in November at the Cambodia Rally of Hope and the Taiwan Rally of Hope, which connected with Chinese communities across the globe. At the Africa Summit in Niger, I won the support of Africa on the continental level. Palau’s Rally of Hope Summit and Blessing Ceremony was the capstone of the Asia-Pacific Union.
The first ladies attending the Asia-Pacific First Ladies Summit resolved to address the fundamental problems of the world with a maternal heart. They called it “The Day of Women’s Liberation” established by the True Mother of humankind. It was a true women’s day for another reason also—in contrast to summits held elsewhere, it was women who were in charge of the preparations, assisted by men.
The next day, December 11, the government-sponsored Blessing Ceremony took place. Historic events always hit bumps in the road, and this one was no exception. As midnight approached on the day before the ceremony, the president’s secretariat informed us that our schedule conflicted with a state budget meeting, so the president would not be able to attend. It was a bolt out of the blue that left us all deflated.
Our spirits were revived, however, when, as the first lady of Palau and the other first ladies entered the Blessing venue the following morning, the emcee joyfully announced that the president had arrived and was making his way to the stage.
Palau’s First Ladies Summit and Blessing was a milestone in God’s providence. It marked Oceania as the starting point of the Pacific civilization, which unfolds around the maternal heart of giving and giving again. The Pacific Ocean is known as a symbol of peace and womanhood, especially motherhood. The victory was due not just to the leaders and people of that beautiful island nation, but also to my two daughters-in-law and Asia-Pacific Family Federation members, who united in earnest prayer offered with the heart to move heaven.
We are one family and one Holy Community of Heavenly Parent. With the conviction that “to stop is to fail; to persevere is to succeed,” I keep moving forward undaunted, no matter what difficulties come. I need to be a mother of love and benevolence who can overlook faults and embrace all circumstances with a maternal heart as wide as the ocean. That is why, even today, I stay awake at night with the heart to cover all the world’s children with blankets while they sleep.”
Today in connection with yesterday's content, I would like to share with you some of the content I reported to True Mother for the Palau First Ladies Summit.
Yeon-ah Nim, Hoon-sook Nim, and the Women's VIP and WFWP delegation to attend the summit paid a courtesy visit to the president.
President Thomas Remengesau Jr., despite his long trip, expressed his gratitude to the guests who visited Palau and showed respect and longing for True Father and the peace movement. He also emphasized the role of women in the peace movement and the importance of the younger generation in the future, and said he hoped everyone would make good memories during their stay in Palau.
Moon Hoon-sook, chairman of the Women's Federation for World Peace, then expressed True Mother’s regards, said Palau was like a role model of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth and that True Father really loved Palau and spread the peace movement here. She expressed thanks for cooperating with this meaningful work now that the Asia Pacific First Ladies Summit is starting in beautiful Palau.
In the afternoon, we had time to meet WFWP representatives, including Palau First Lady Debby Remengesau, Yeon-ah Nim, and Hoon-sook Nim.
That time, First Lady Debby Remengesau said,
"I am a blessed family blessed by the late President Sun Myung Moon in 2005. It is a huge honor that President Sun Myung Moon blessed me during his lifetime, and in particular, I was the only current leader to attend his Seonghwa Ceremony. Palau has the culture of an island country. All women, politically influential women, are the main characters of creating peace. It is important that peace begins with me, and it is important that it begins with the family. My term of office expires next year. After I resign from the presidency, I will do my best as a wife and grandmother of my grandchildren. I also established the Remengesau Foundation. This is because I met President Moon and realized what is needed for a peaceful world and to pass down to the younger generation in the future, and I learned what I have to do. I hope you make good memories in beautiful Palau during your stay and come back again with your family."
At dinner time, the president spoke, and he was an amazing speaker. He said, "I'm the president of this country, but I attended this banquet as a guest. It was because my wife, host, and first lady invited me." So everyone laughed happily.
The president continued, "The first lady is the bridge between the government and society. That is connected to youth, families, schools, religious organizations and communities. Therefore, the first lady must be part of the solution to the problems facing today's society. First of all, women must participate in solutions that all countries around the world face."
The Palau First Ladies Summit was really an incredible event, and True Mother was so inspired to see such a beautiful event in Palau. Now our witnessing headquarters is promoting the First Ladies Association for World Peace. Let’s support our Women’s Federation for World Peace in America and Canada and organize the future First Ladies Summit very well in America.
Living Divine Principle: Section 1 - The Dual Characteristics of God and the Created Universe
♦ How can we know the divine nature of the invisible God?
♦ One way to fathom his deity is by observing the universe which he created.
♦ Thus St. Paul said in Rom. 1:20: “Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
His deity is by observing the universe, which He created” How can we know the divine nature of the invisible God?
One way to fathom his deity is by observing the universe which he created.
1. Fathoming His deity by observing the universe means we can know God by looking at ourselves. This is because we are the substantial manifestation of the universe. (Human beings are a microcosm).
2. St Paul said in Rom.1:20 : “Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
3. We have a mind and body, in our mind we have intellect, emotion and will. Additionally, just as we have a heart and love, the God who created human beings has the same characteristics because there can be no result without a cause.
4. Therefore, by researching the self, our own self, one can know God.
5. John14: 8-10: 8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
This is really an incredible expression. He said, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” “I am the son of God. If you see me, you can guess who my father is.” Jesus continuously talked to his disciple about, “Who I am. Who you are.”
6. Jesus is not a fallen man. Jesus is God's substantial object partner. Therefore, when fallen human beings are restored, there is no one who can deny that God exists in me like Jesus did, and that I exist in God.
7. So what is the conclusion? How can we know God? It means that we can know God through me, the center of creation. Children resemble their parents. I am a resultant being. This means that the existence of me eventually resembles the character and appearance of God, the Creator. If children do not resemble their parents, who will resemble their parents?
Very clear.
“Ever Since the Creation of the World, His Invisible Nature, Namely, His Eternal Power and Deity, Has Been Clearly Perceived in the Things That Have Been Made. So, They Are Without Excuse.”
1. God’s power and divinity are apparent in human beings and all creation.
> Human beings and all things are a textbook for knowing God.
That is why True Father said when he discovered the Divine Principle that some content of the Bible is very confused. Of course, he discovered (the Principle) based on the Bible, but most of his content, God’s eternal truth, he discovered through nature. Human beings and all things are the textbook for knowing God. Human beings and all things resemble God the most.
> To know the symbolic God, observe all things.
> To know God’s image, observe human beings.
2. When True Father discovered the Principle, He learned many things from nature. Nature is the museum of humankind’s love.
3. How lamentable that ignorant human beings cannot know the power and divinity of God by looking at nature!
4. Fallen humans cannot feel God’s intellect, emotion, will and love through nature.
That is the fall.
5. Through heartistic relations and oneness with nature we can reach a mystical trance-like state.
Buddha and many saints and sages said that when they become one with God and really discover his reality, our Divine Principle really logically and scientifically explains God’s existence.
♦ Just as the invisible nature of the maker is concretely displayed in his works of art.
♦ Everything in the created universe is a substantial manifestation of some quality of the Creator’s invisible nature.
♦ Just as we can come to know the character of the artist through his works, so we can understand the nature of God by observing the diverse things of the creation.
“Everything in the Created Universe Is a Substantial Manifestation of Some Quality of the Creator’s Invisible, Divine Nature”
1. I resemble God’s divinity and am His substantial object partner.
a. You need to know that we are God’s greatest masterpiece.
b. Because humans are God’s greatest masterpiece, all of God’s characteristics are within us.
c. You should know the fact that each entity in the entire creation is God’s masterpiece.
d. How grateful are we when we see God’s masterpiece?
I am God’s masterpiece because I am a child of God.
> Then what is my greatest masterpiece? It is my child.
Who I am is amazing! I am God’s greatest masterpiece. Who is God? He is my eternal parent. If we know this fundamental relationship between God and me as parent and child, we can solve any issue, any problem. How can we teach God’s existence, God’s dream, God’s hope, God’s purpose of creation? This is our homework: to teach (this) to all mankind.
2. Intangible characteristics are expressed through a visible substantial form.
3. Consequently, God’s invisible characteristics are all expressed through us.
How we express our heart and mind, even though we cannot see our invisible heart and mind, is through our body. How can you know you are angry or not? (Because) we can see your emotion, your face and action; we can know that. That is why, even though God is invisible, we can know (him) through his human being. That is why he expresses (himself) through the visible, substantial form, through all things, through each human being.
God has intellect, emotion and will. That is why we also have intellect, emotion and will. We are the same as God. I may be very upset about something. God also can be very upset when he sees evil things. He has intellect. He has the power of the will. Without the power of the will, how would he have created all things, created human beings? That is why what I have -- intellect, emotion and will -- and love and heart -- actually God has the same things because we are the ones who resemble God. That is why the Divine Principle says we can know God’s deity and power. You have everything in you; that is why through you one can know God. It is very clear. Through you one can know God. Why are you looking for God? You are a masterpiece of God. You are children of God. Children resemble whom? They resemble their parents. Wow! Many people are looking for God in the sky or somewhere else. What is the best way to know God? Through me, through my character, through my heart, through my emotions, through my intellect. The Divine Principle guides us really clearly.
Today’s Youth Ministry: The Three Great Pains of Abraham
1. Abraham’s family faced many trials due to having to inherit all of the historical courses of victory on the 3rd generation, with Adam’s family as the 1st generation and Noah’s family as the 2nd generation.
2. Abraham faced three trials, or three types of great suffering. He first experienced the pain of leaving his parents’ hometown that he was attached to. The second pain was being forced to give his wife to a foreign king. The third pain was having to sacrifice his only son Isaac as an offering when he was 100 years old.
3. The most difficult pain of them all was having to sacrifice his only son Isaac. Sacrificing Isaac as an offering was a pain greater than that of sacrificing himself in front of God. There is no record of whether Abraham told his wife Sarah of God’s command to sacrifice Isaac as an offering.
The Bible doesn’t talk much about Abraham’s suffering. The Bible doesn’t talk much about Abraham’s heart(?). The Bible doesn’t talk much about how Heavenly Father deals with Abraham’s family. The Bible did not clearly describe when Adam and Eve fell, how God’s heart was so painful! It did not mention these things.
4. Consider just how intense Sarah’s pain would have been if Abraham told her of Isaac becoming a sacrificial offering. Or in the case of Abraham not having told Sarah and going through with the sacrifice by himself, consider Abraham’s heart (shimjung)—a heart of solitary pain of having to go through with sacrificing Isaac while being forced to keep this a secret from his wife.
That is why we need to understand the heart of Abraham. That is why our Divine Principle, Part 2, is very powerful and very important. Through the central figures’ courses, we can inherit their heart, their pain, their sorrowful, suffering course. That is the reason we need to learn Part 2 of the Divine Principle. Wow! I love Abraham! Even though he failed to make the offering, (in order) to recover (from) his failure how much he invested his heart, how resolved he was! He had absolute faith toward God.
When he received some kind of command, God asked him to offer his son, Isaac. Maybe he did not talk to his wife, Sarah. And then when he went up the mountain with his son, how was Abraham’s heart? Can you imagine that? He was a human being as well. Even though he received God’s command, he decided to offer his son. How much he loved his son, his only son! But he needed to offer him! Maybe he could not express (his heart) and talk to his wife. On the journey to go to the mountain, can you imagine how sorrowful he was? But he loved God. He wanted to unite with Heavenly Parent. That is why he became the ancestor of his descendants.
I love the name Abraham. Do you know what Abraham means? He becomes the father of all people. Abraham.
5. There is a reason that God told Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice as a condition of greater indemnity, despite having failed in offering the symbolic offering. There is a reason for everything that God does.
6. Thus, there is surely some sort of meaning in regard to the symbolic offering. Surely, God did not choose the dove, sheep, and heifer simply because He liked them as offerings.
God is not that kind of a vague God. He asked (Abraham) to offer three kinds of offering: Doves, sheep and a heifer. There was clearly some kind of meaning (to this). Was it because God liked those kinds of animals? God is not that kind of a vague God. Where there are some kind of symbolic things, there is a very clear meaning.
7. What is the origin of the three great pains of Abraham? The source of the pains must be from Adam’s family. The three pains of Abraham can be seen as an reenactment of the three great pains of God toward Adam’s family.
8. God originally created the beautiful Garden of Eden at the time of creation. However, He experienced the suffering of having to surrender it all to Satan due to Adam and Eve’s fall. This was reenacted in the form of God’s first command, through which Abraham experienced the pain of abandoning his beloved hometown environment and leaving his parents.
Can you imagine this? Heavenly Father created the universe; he created the sun, moon, stars, ocean, everything. It is an incredible universe! For the sake of human beings. But because of Adam and Eve, God lost his property. The Garden of Eden was invaded by Satan. Satan became the king of God’s Eden. God lost his environment. He lost his hometown. That is why the same problems were repeated in Abraham’s family. Abraham in God’s position as the central figure needed to recover that. When he left his hometown, can you imagine that he followed God’s order? He had to leave his father and mother, his brothers and sisters. Abraham was really a filial son to his father, Terrah. That is why leaving his hometown was very painful. We can learn why Abraham had to follow that course.
9. Then came God’s pain of surrendering Eve, God’s daughter and future wife of Adam, to Satan. This was reenacted in the form of Abraham having to endure the pain of being forced to give his wife to a foreign king.
10. Then came the scene of Abraham offering his only son Isaac as a sacrifice, a son borne to him when he was 100 years old. Whose pain is being reenacted here? It can be seen as an enactment of pain in place of God’s sorrow of having lost His only son, Adam.
When God lost his son, first son, Adam, wow! How much God cried! When God lost Eve, taken by the evil archangel, his first daughter Eve, his only son Adam, how painful was God’s heart! How much he suffered!
There were three great pains in Adam’s family. These things had to happen again in Abraham’s family because (God) needs to restore Adam’s family’s failure. God’s heart had to be restored.
11. We can see that the cause of the three great pains of Abraham in the end lies in Adam’s family. To be more precise, the fall of Adam’s family can be seen as the incident which became the source of the suffering of Abraham’s family. This is an amazing discovery.
Noah’s family had to(?) connect to Adam’s family. Everything that happened in Abraham’s family was connected to Adam’s family. You need to know that. Why did Abraham have to go through these three great pains? Because these happened in Adam’s family. He had to restore them through an indemnity course.
12. This means that we must inherit the suffering as done by Abraham’s family of the suffering God experienced through Adam’s family if fallen human beings are to seek God by having discovered this truth. It is easy to view God as a cruel God if we are unaware of this aspect of the Principle. How else could God do something as severing the bond between Abraham and his wife? How else could God bless Abraham with a son while at 100 years of age, only to command him to stab and kill Isaac moments later?
Many people say God is a very cruel God; God is a God of judgment. Many people misunderstood this.
13. Then came God’s pain of surrendering Eve, God’s daughter and future wife of Adam, to Satan. This was reenacted in the form of Abraham having to endure the pain of being forced to give his wife to a foreign king.
14. Then came the scene of Abraham offering his only son Isaac as a sacrifice, a son borne to him when he was 100 years old. Whose pain is being reenacted here? It can be seen as an enactment of pain in place of God’s sorrow of having lost His only son, Adam.
Wow! Everything is an expression of God’s suffering, God’s hardship. We need to know about this. How can we restore God’s heart? This is the issue, Right? In order to understand someone’s heart, we need to understand his background, his pain and his sorrow. Without understanding his sorrow, his pain and difficulties, we will never understand that person’s heart.
What does the fall mean? It means that we lost God’s heart. In order to understand God’s heart, we need to understand Adam’s family. God lost his children, his only son, Adam, his only daughter, Eve, he lost all his property, all the universe taken by Satan. God lost everything. He lost Adam, his son, and (Eve), his daughter; he lost all his property in just one day. Can you imagine how much God suffered!
God is more sensitive than anyone else. Because God is a God of love, he is very, very, very sensitive. When he feels pain, we cannot imagine his pain, how great it was. Nobody understands that. How can we liberate God? Without understanding his suffering, how can we understand God. How can we build a heartistic relationship with God? That is why we can see in (?) Abraham’s family what God’s pain was in Adam’s family.
15. We can see many examples of this in the fallen world of today. We come to witness cruel incidents at times. However, upon further examination, we come to understand that such cruel individuals have ancestors (who) met with unjust incidents in the background. People become more cruel the greater their resentment and injustice faced. Cruelty is not an issue for those with accumulated resentment.
16. God of Han (Bitter heart) experienced when He lost Adam and Eve cannot be expressed in words. An external view of fallen human being’s path of seeking and arriving at God can be seen as a cruel one. The experience of such injustice cannot be understood unless one is met with the exact same experience. Likewise, in the case of alleviating God’s suffering, God cannot be liberated from His suffering unless human beings undergo the same course of suffering.
17. Because of the Fall, humans not only inherit the heart of God, but also inherit his pain, suffering, and sorrow in order to become true children. Parents and children need to connect with their hearts and minds. How can a child establish a parent-child relationship if he or she does not know the sorrow and pain of the parent? Heaven is the place where the heart and the heart communicate.
Without heartistic communication between parents and children, how can they know each other?
18. Therefore, think of the suffering I encounter as the suffering of meeting God's suffering. And think that the way to solve the pain you encounter is the way to release God's pain. Abraham had the responsibility to inherit the sufferings of Adam's family and eventually release God's sufferings. Therefore, we need to understand and release the suffering around us as God's suffering and the suffering of the nation as God's suffering and the suffering of mankind as God's suffering.
Without understanding God’s suffering, we cannot build the relationship between parent and child. As a child, as sons and daughters, we need to know our parents’ heart. Without knowing God’s heart, without knowing God’s suffering, how can we really see him, how can we liberate him, how can we accomplish his will?
That is why any suffering that comes to us, we need to appreciate. It is the way to meet God’s suffering. Then I can more deeply understand God’s heart. “Thank you, Heavenly Father, for giving me that kind of suffering. Through this opportunity I can understand you more, I can have a closer relationship with you. Heavenly God, I love you, no matter what! You are my eternal father; you are my eternal parent. I am a child of God.” If we have that kind of attitude, we can overcome any suffering. Through the suffering, we can liberate God’s heart.
Thank you.
