Key Points
Because after World War II, the United States as Cain and Chris tianity as Abel were united, the time was ripe for the Second Com ing. But because Christianity failed to become one with True Fa ther just as John the Baptist failed to unite with Jesus, True Father was driven into the wilderness of Heungnam Prison to assume the role of John the Baptist and to restart the restoration through indemnity.
The Cold War began in earnest when Christianity failed to fulfill its responsibilities.
True Parents were in a position to unite communism on Cain’s side and democracy on Abel’s side.
Satan, the serpent, is the ancestor of humanity. This was hidden until True Father exposed Satan’s crime in the Fall.
If we know Satan’s identity very clearly as our ancestor, this is the way to overcome all evil and fallen nature.
God can forgive sinner but not the sin itself. Because Satan is evil itself, the enemy of love and murderer of God’s children, God cannot forgive him, but he can forgive humans over and over.
Because God and Satan have nothing in common, the messiah must come as the mediator. After the salvation of humankind, he will deal with Satan.
Jesus and True Parents came as mediators to restore the relationship between human beings and God.
We need to take ownership of our ancestors sins in order to resolve them: “Your problem is my problem.” If we just accuse them, their sins will pass on to our descendants.
We have to inherit True Parents’ mission as a tribal messiah to save our tribe.
Jesus spoke with absolute spiritual dignity, absolute conviction as God’s son.
The most important point taught by Jesus and the True Parents is that God and human beings have a parent-child relationship.
God is the parent of parents.
The most important thing the Messiah must do is to restore humankind’s relationship with God and teach Hyojeong as the way for children to find their parents.
Our mission is to become the Messiah ourselves, fulfilling the role of mediator in bringing countless lives to True Parents.
If you know yourself as God's, you will automatically treat yourself as precious.
Jesus treated himself as if he were God and was convinced he was the son of God. We, too, should have that conviction.
If you treat yourself as God's, you can never treat yourself badly, nor resent, clash with or be jealous of others.
My body is God’s temple, and my heart is God’s heart.
Because of our fallen nature, the most difficult thing in our life of faith is to maintain the standard of treating ourselves as our Father’s belonging and then of cherishing our brothers-and-sisters, husband-and-wife, and parent-child relationships.
Parents should treat their children as God’s children, not their own.
Those who value and respect themselves will definitely value and respect others. Those who truly treat themselves as God’s belonging, love their neighbor as God’s belonging.
To love oneself but discriminate against others is hypocrisy.
When you live a life that is considered right by others, it will be a life that always develops because heavenly fortune is with you.

Family members, today is the second anniversary of our Morning Devotion. Thank you for all of your support for us and prayers and jeongseong devotion during this time. Tomorrow we will have time to reflect together. Today because of a meeting with World Headquarters I had to pre-record Morning Devotion.
Today I’d like to talk about “God, Women and World Peace” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This was an invitational address delivered on September 7, 1993 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York> God had expanded Christianity and had lifted up a mighty Christian nation like the United States for the purpose of preparing the way for the Second Coming. Whether they realized it or not, those ministers in Korea represented all of Christianity. Because these representatives did not unite with my husband after World War II, worldwide Christianity and America began to decline in power and moral authority. After World War II, the nation of the United States and the religion of Christianity stood on a victorious foundation of Cain-Abel unity. The time was ripe for the Second Coming. However, the whole world opposed my husband’s work and missed this opportunity. He was expelled into the wilderness. He was forced to the bottom and has been climbing back up ever since.
Thus, the Cold War began. The world separated again into two worldwide spheres of Cain and Abel, just as it had during World War II. Denying God, just as the thief on the left denied Jesus, communism represented the Cain-type world.
Christian democracies, which affirmed the existence of God, represented the thief on the right and the Abel-type world. It was God's Will that the Messiah of the Second Coming unite these two hostile blocs. That is why we mobilized our church to help settle conflicts between the right wing, represented by the free world, and the left wing, represented by communism. We also have been working in the role of a peacemaker on behalf of Christianity, Judaism and our Islamic brothers and sisters.

Because Christianity, which is in the position of John the Baptist, failed to become one with True Father, True Father was driven into the wilderness, fell to the bottom of Hell, and was in a position to restore everything again. The first start of the restoration through indemnity was Heungnam Prison.
It was as if John the Baptist failed to fully accept Jesus. In order to restore the position of John the Baptist, who failed, Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and was tested by Satan. In the end, Jesus had to restore the position of John the Baptist from the very bottom.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Fall - 4.
The Identity of the Serpent
• In the Bible we read that a serpent tempted Eve to commit sin (Gen. 3:4-5)
1.This serpent was able to converse with people.
2. It caused the Fall of humans, who are spiritual beings.
3. Furthermore, the serpent knew the Will of God, which strictly forbade human beings to eat the fruit.
4. As it is written in Revelation 12:9, "The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world, he was thrown down to the earth," the serpent had lived in heaven.
5. Also, it is able to transcend time and space to dominate the human soul.
• This is compelling evidence that the being which the serpent symbolizes was a spiritual being.
• This spiritual being was originally created with a good purpose, but later fell and became Satan.
• There are no beings endowed with such characteristics other than angels. Therefore, the serpent which tempted human beings and sinned is an angel.
• Also, in Il Pet. 2:4, it is written, "God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of nether gloom."
Let’s study Father’s word.
The Serpent (Snake) is the Human Ancestor
<22-281> Satan raped Eve, and finally made Adam fall. In other words, Satan invaded them in their age of 16 and not knowing anything about love. Then they made a wrong relationship of love and Satan took over the place where God was supposed to dwell. Then who is the father of Adam and Eve? It is Satan. That’s why we can see the biblical expressions about fallen men by Jesus such as ‘You are of your father the Devil’, ‘You snakes! You brood of vipers’ and John the Baptist also mentioned ‘brood of vipers.’ The snake mentioned in the Bible is the human ancestor.
In the Bible, Jesus said to human beings, 'You are of your father the devil,' and 'You are a brood of vipers.' Even John the Baptist referred to fallen humans as a brood of vipers.
The snake mentioned in the Bible is the ancestor of humankind. In the end humans became the offspring of vipers. As it turns out, how many people know that our ancestor was a serpent, not God? What we need to know for sure is that I myself am a descendant of the serpent and a descendant of Satan.
Satan thoroughly hid his identity until the appearance of the True Parents. However, since Satan’s true identity was revealed through True Parents, the greatest enemy of Satan is True Parents.
We came to understand very clearly that our ancestor is not God. We came from Satan. Originally, we were supposed to come from God’s blood lineage, but because of the fall the Serpent became our ancestor.
This is really serious. How many human beings really understand where we come from? Originally we were supposed to have come from God’s blood lineage. However, we came from Satan’s blood lineage. If we know Satan’s identity very clearly, if we know who our ancestor is, this is the way to overcome all evil and fallen nature. That is why Chapter Two is very important to guide all humankind.
The Reason why God can’t Forgive Satan
<22-281> God and Satan are enemies to each other. However, why can’t the God of love forgive Satan? What if God just forgave Satan so that the kingdom of peace can be easily established even though Satan is the enemy of God? Why can’t God forgive Satan while humanity is told to forgive the sinners 77 times?
Satan is Humankind’s Adulterer
<22-282> Everyone here, who is Satan? An adulterer, God’s adulterer. He’s an adulterer, that is, the enemy of love who is against God. If God forgives him, He will break the heavenly laws. That’s why the people living in the satanic world nowadays can be forgiven a hundred times, even a thousand times, but absolutely not Satan. Therefore the big judgment exists. The judgment is not on people but on Satan who dwells in the people’s hearts like he is their master.
This is very important guidance. Why can't God forgive Satan? This is because Satan is the mastermind and an adulterer of destroying God’s ideal. Even if the person who sins is forgiven, the evil itself, the sin itself, must be removed. We cannot compromise at all. Therefore, it must be clearly understood that the sin itself cannot be forgiven.
This is because Satan is the enemy of love, and he is the enemy who killed God's children. Satan is evil itself.
Since God is absolute and unchanging, He has no attributes to become one with Satan, the subject of evil. Because the attributes of God and Satan are like oil and water, the Messiah must come and play a mediator role.
God can forgive human beings in the satanic world a hundred, even a thousand times. The reason that human beings became evil is that they were corrupted by Satan.
Because fallen human beings have no choice but to follow the path that their ancestors walked, God had to lead the fallen human beings on the path of principle while forgiving and forgiving again.
The main problem is Satan. He killed Adam and Eve, right? Satan is really evil itself. There is no compromise between good and evil. We need to really completely remove evil. Of course, we need to forgive the sinners, those who have committed sin. We can forgive that guy, but we cannot compromise with that person’s sin. This is important. We need to understand (this) very clearly. Of course, God and Satan are like water and oil.
In the end, who needs to liberate Satan? Only the messiah, True Parents. Heavenly Father himself cannot do that. Only the messiah, who comes as a mediator, first of all needs to restore human beings and (only then) finally he needs to deal with Satan. This is incredible guidance by our True Parents.
Can you imagine? Adam and Eve’s descendants committed so much sin again and again, multiplying evil. However, Heavenly Father knows that this problem comes from humanity’s ancestor. That is why he has no other choice than to forgive them again and again and over and over. This is God’s sorrowful situation.
Even though Adam and Eve committed sin, if we just accuse them, this problem will continue from descendant to descendant. However, we have to be responsible for all our ancestors’ problems and fallen nature. We even need to be responsible for Adam and Eve’s problem. Otherwise, if we just blame them and accuse them, then these problems will continue to our descendants.
That is why we need to take ownership: “Your problem is my problem. I am the one who will solve this problem. I even need to solve God’s problem, God’s agony, han and sorrow. We call that ownership. The messiah comes as the owner to solve this issue and restore (humankind).
We have to inherit True Parents’ (mission) as a messianic mission as a tribal messiah. At least we need to do the tribal messiah mission to save our tribe and solve the problem. This is really incredible!
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Know Where You Are Right Now
The Purpose of Jesus and True Parents’ Coming
1. Just as Jesus came as the mediator to restore the relationship between God and human beings, True Parents also came to restore the relationship with God by telling us “All mankind, we have entered the age of God’s children. Serve God as the Father. And become filial sons and daughters to realize God’s will. God has han against you, so relieve His sorrow.” The thing that many saints and sages have come to teach us over a long history is that the original value of human beings is not to live self-indulgently but being sons and daughters of God that cannot be exchanged for the world. Prophets and patriotic martyrs, Jesus and True Parents fought for their lives to teach this truth. Those who gave their lives were those who died holding on to the relationship that they belong to God, not themselves, until they left this world.
Jesus and True Parents came to this earth to act as a mediator between God and fallen human beings. As mediators, they came to restore the relationship between human beings and God.
Therefore, . In the end, this is the key point. God is the parent of parents and human beings are the only children of God who are second to none.
Therefore, in order for man to restore his relationship with God, he must realize that he is God's, not his own. So faith is treating myself as God’s belonging.
Then, what is the most important thing the Messiah must do when he comes to this earth? The most important thing they must do is to restore humankind’s relationship with God and teach filial piety, the way for humans to serve God, attend God. Hyojeong is the way for children to find their parents.
Therefore, the Bible emphasized through the Ten Commandments that we must love God first, more than anything else, and both Jesus and True Parents emphasized the same thing.
Now, our mission is to resemble True Parents and become the Messiah, fulfilling the role of mediator in bringing countless lives to True Parents.
Know Where You Are Right Now
2. Religious martyrs are people who are killed for claiming themselves as belonging to God. Next, what is a patriotic martyr? They are people who died for their nation, thinking they do not have ownership over themselves, thinking of themselves as a person of that nation, thinking of their own nation even in difficult situations, and valuing the relationship of belonging to that nation as much as they value their own lives. People who go down in history are those who died valuing that relationship. As for us, who have faith, what must we do? It is to know where I am right now. It is to know that I belong to God. If I know myself as God’s, I need to treat myself with dignity. People who have a relationship with God will not be able to treat themselves carelessly. If you were the son of a king, you could not treat yourself as an ordinary person.
The martyrs who died while preaching the will of God are people who died after claiming that they belong to God.
All the people who have remained in history are people who died respecting vertical relationships. So, what should we believers do today? You must know where you are, that is, you must know you are God’s belonging.
If you know yourself as God's, you will automatically treat yourself as precious. People who have a relationship with God will not be able to treat themselves carelessly. If you were the son of a king, you could not treat yourself as an ordinary person.
According to Jesus' words, he treated himself as if he were God. When you read the Bible, Jesus’ dignity is absolute. He treated himself as God’s. And Jesus had absolute conviction that he was the Son of God and that he belonged to God.
Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, God says ...” He had absolute conviction as the son of God.
Jesus said, “He who has seen me has seen God, so how can one ask to see God?” As we live our life of faith, do we, too, have absolute conviction that God is our parent like Jesus and True Parents do?
When I see Father closely and when he delivers God’s word and when he deals with people, wow! Father treats himself as God’s, just like Jesus. There is no difference (between God and True Father, the messiah). This is amazing! Whenever Father says something, we need to absolutely believe that God is saying that. We have that kind of trust and belief: there is no gap between God and True Father. They have become one (to that extent). We can have that kind of absolute conviction.
Recently I read the Bible from Matthew to Revelations, wow! When I hear Jesus’ talk, his words, his declarations, how he guided his disciples and people, he had absolute spiritual dignity, absolute conviction. He felt that “I am the son of God. There is no difference between God and me.” I really admire (Jesus).
When we treat ourself as God’s belonging, as God’s son and daughter, how much power we have! Incredible power comes out. The problem is that we do not treat ourself as God’s belonging. Even though we say and think, “I belong to God,” we immediately come back to normal and treat ourself as our own. That is the issue.
You Must Be Able to Elevate Yourself
3. We today are hypocrites. We say “Heavenly Father!” from our mouths and yet in our own lives, we continue to be slaves to Satan. We do this and that, resent and curse others, get harassed, have disharmony and jealousy among brothers. Isn’t this being a hypocrite? If you say that you have a clear relationship with God, you must elevate yourself. I have to be in such a way that when God calls me, He will add “-nim” (Korean honorific) to my name. It is a Korean tradition to attach “-nim” to the name of a superior or someone you respect. When parents value their children, what do they say? “Oh, my goodness! The prince(wangja-nim) of our home! Our princess(gongju-nim)!” Don’t they add “-nim” like this? Parents want to elevate their children. However, putting this into practice is very difficult.
If you treat yourself as God's, you can never treat yourself badly. However, if you treat yourself as God’s yet you ignore yourself, resent and curse others, clash with others, disagree with your siblings, and are jealous, you are a hypocrite.
If you are confident in your relationship with God, you automatically exalt yourself. So, we should be able to respect ourselves while living our life of faith. This is because I am not myself. I am God’s mind and body. It is because my body is God’s temple, and my heart is God’s heart.
The Most Difficult Things in Life of Faith
4. The most difficult thing in our life of faith is treating ourselves as our Father’s. This is because it is so easy to mistreat ourselves. The second most difficult thing is cherishing the brother-sister relationship. Despite being close, it’s easy to ignore each other. Thirdly, it is the husband-wife relationship, and next is the parent-child relationship. Parents treat their children carelessly. That is why the people of the closest relationships for today’s fallen people are enemies. An enemy is not something else but the inability to handle all relationships from God’s standpoint. Valuing oneself while valuing others is sincerity. Love your neighbor as yourself! This is sincerity. Loving yourself while discriminating against others makes you a hypocrite and false person. This is our problem. Everyone should be considered right. My fortune will improve only when I speak, act, and practice my life reliably. When you live a life that is considered right by others, it will be a life that always develops because heavenly fortune is with you.
The most difficult thing in our life of faith is treating ourselves as our Father’s. Fallen human beings who claim to treat themselves as God’s, quickly return to their fallen natures and habits. And in the end, they treat themselves carelessly.
The second most difficult thing is cherishing the brother-sister relationship. Thirdly, it is the husband-wife relationship, and next is the parent-child relationship. This is because parents treat their children as their own. And because children think of their parents only as their own physical parents.
If you treat yourself and the person closest to you horizontally instead of as God's, you will inevitably clash. In the end, they become enemies to each other.
Those who value themselves will definitely value others. Those who truly treat themselves as God love their neighbor, love their country, and love God as others love them. They never discriminate against themselves and others. They treat others as if they were their own body.
Therefore, a person who ignores others is ultimately a person who ignores himself and treats himself carelessly in everyday life. This is the truth. To love oneself but discriminate against others is hypocrisy and false.
Our problem is this. Therefore, everyone should be considered right. My fortune will improve only when I speak, act, and practice my life reliably. When you live a life that is considered right by others, it will be a life that always develops because heavenly fortune is with you.
I belong to God. I treat (myself) as God’s belonging. Then automatically I can treat others as the same as my body, same as my heart. There is no distinction, no discrimination. This is a very important point.
If you ignore (yourself) ... It looks like, “I am humble, I am nothing, I cannot do anything.” This is actually very arrogant. You need to elevate yourself. You are a son or a daughter of God. When you really respect yourself and treat yourself as God’s belonging, you automatically treat others as God’s belongings as well.
