Key Points
In restoration history Jacob was the first person who naturally subjugated a Cain-type person and laid the foundation of substance. So he was given the name “Israel,” meaning he had triumphed.
True Parents, as the global Abel, subjugated the world-level Cain, Kim Il-sung, and successfully negotiated with him. This condition will allow God to intervene in the unification of North and South Korea.
The two urgent tasks of True Parents and our Unification movement are to achieve Korean unification through true love and to construct the ideal world of peace, free from immorality and corruption.
Because both God and our enemy enter our hearts through material means, we need to treat material publicly as God’s and ourselves as God’s.
Nothing is free. We always pay the price.
Treat public funds with a sense of ownership. It is not free money.
Don’t misuse public money.
Avoid being indebted.
Money can bring you blessings or disaster.
True Parents pursue God's will and goal for the sake of humankind from a completely public position.
If you use money publicly, the spirit world will always work and greater blessings will come.
On a public path treat material publicly, control sexual desires and avoid hurting people’s hearts.
If you hold on to truth, you will always be filled with desire and hope.
If you live faithfully according to the desires of your original mind, you will feel amazing cosmic energy and vitality elements.
We must carefully distinguish between truth and falsehood in our life of faith, asking for guidance from the original mind which knows the difference well.
Sing, pray, speak and treat others heartisticly, not formally.
We can express a heart of gratitude, joy and hope if we are genuine and sincere and avoid useless thoughts, complaints, dissatisfaction and a fluctuating mood dependant on the circumstances.
If I distinguish good and evil well and always preserve my sincere self, my heart will be stable, and joy and gratitude will emerge .
The evidence for a sincere person is that they are always hopeful, motivated, active, grateful, and joyful.
If we always have a good relationship with the Word and give and receive well, our spirit will always be resurrected, grow, and develop.
The Word is hope, resurrection, and life.

Today is the 700th day since we started our morning devotion. I am sincerely grateful to all the family members who have devoted (themselves) every single day.
To be frank, sometimes I am so tired; I want to rest. Then God asks me, “Can you miss one meal? You need to provide heavenly manna and quail to heavenly children.” Heavenly Parent provided manna and quail every day to the Israelites. He could not miss even one day.
“Yes, Heavenly Parent, I know, but sometimes I am so tired. I need to have your energy; otherwise I cannot carry on.” Sometimes I feel that way.
Jeongseong is not a simple condition. We need to invest a lot of heart and emotion (into it).
God loves us in that way. We need to really appreciate God. One brother just mentioned that he provides air and sunshine every day.
Today I’d like to talk about “Women Will Play a Leading Role in the Ideal World” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at Women's Federation for World Peace rallies held between June 10 and June 30, 1992 in 40 cities, counties and districts throughout Korea> Our visit was similar to the story in the Bible of when Jacob impressed his brother, Esau, who had intended to kill him. Through his indescribable hardships, wisdom and devotion, Jacob moved his brother's heart to such an extent that they finally were able to make peace with one another. My husband and I similarly concluded our conference with Kim Il-sung of North Korea with a successful reconciliation. Now the unification of North and South Korea has not been left in the hands of politicians alone. It has become a matter in which God can intervene. Reverend Moon is working hard, day and night, to have his worldwide foundation help achieve the unification of North and South Korea in accordance with the Will of God, and construct the ideal world of peace, free from immorality and corruption.
My husband clearly said, “The unification of North and South Korea cannot be brought about through Juche ideology. The unification of North and South Korea can be brought about only through Godism and Unification Thought, which is the head-wing thought proposed by Reverend Moon. This nation then will become a unified Korea that can lead the entire world.” In regard to their constant refrain that the Korean War started when the South attacked the North, my husband directly told President Kim that the war was caused when the North first attacked the South.

Like Jacob, the path to subjugating his older brother Esau, a Cain-type person, was by no means an easy one. Through his indescribable hardships, wisdom and devotion, Jacob moved his brother's heart to such an extent that they finally were able to make peace with one another.
True Parents had to come to this earth and conduct the providence of subjugating the world-level Cain, as the Abel of all people on a global level. That is why True Parents embraced Kim Il-sung and successfully negotiated with him.
Father’s meeting with Kim Il Sung was an incredible condition. Based on that foundation Father proclaimed so many things meaningfully.
Based on such a foundation, the unification of North and South Korea has not been left in the hands of politicians alone. It has become a matter in which God can intervene.
How can we unite North and South Korea? God needs to intervene. Otherwise we cannot accomplish that kind of goal through human power alone.
From now on the two urgent tasks of True Parents and our Unification movement are to, first, achieve unification of North and South Korea through true love to build Cheon Il Guk – Mother always (speaks about) unified Korea – and secondly, to construct the ideal world of peace, free from immorality and corruption.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Principle of Creation 66 – The Human Heart as Viewed through the Spiritual and Physical Minds
• The relationship between the spirit mind and the physical mind is like that between internal nature and external form. When they become one through give and take action with God as their center, they form a united functioning entity which guides the spirit self and physical self to become harmonious and progress toward the purpose of creation. This united entity is the mind of a human being.
• The conscience is that faculty of the human mind which, by virtue of its inborn nature, always directs us toward what we think is good.
• However, as the standard of goodness in fallen human beings varies, the standard of their conscience also fluctuates; this causes frequent contention even among those who advocate a conscientious life.
• The original mind is that faculty of the human mind which pursues absolute goodness. The original mind relates to the conscience as internal nature to external form.
• A person's conscience directs him to pursue goodness according to the standard he has set up in ignorance, even though it may differ from the original standard. However, the original mind repels this faulty standard and works to correct the conscience.
• As long as our spirit mind and physical mind are under the bondage of Satan, the functioning entity they form through their give and take action is called the evil mind. The evil mind continually drives people to do evil.
• Our original mind and conscience direct us to repel the evil mind. They guide us in desperate efforts to reject evil desires and cling to goodness by breaking our ties with Satan and turning to face God.
Based on this content, let’s study Father’s word.
The Path Through which the Enemy Enters
<3-127> So, how does the enemy invade? The enemy enters through material means and inclinations. However, God’s fortune also enters through material substance. You must be aware of the fact that both God and our enemy enter through material means. We must become people of solid faith, who know how to center ourselves upon faith.
True Father said that we today must be aware of the fact that both God and our enemy enter through material means. Therefore, he said that believers must become people of solid faith, who know how to center themselves upon faith through material things.
Why does material become an enemy or a blessing? If you treat material publicly, you will be blessed, but if you handle it with self-centeredness, it becomes an enemy. The reason why many people make mistakes is that, first, they treat their bodies as their own and give and take with the problem of temptation between men and women. The second is because they treat material as their own and pay great indemnity.
By looking at how one handles materials, you can quickly determine whether they are a public person or a private person. If they deal with material things centered on themselves with personal thoughts and treat materials as their own, they will inevitably receive wrath and pay indemnity. If you want to know whether you have a private or a public mind when dealing with material things, you can quickly find out if you ask your original mind.
Even if activities with public financial support don’t look good from the outside, if you get involved in the wrong way, you have to pay a price. When you receive public financial support, if you think it is free and treat it without a sense of ownership, you will eventually lose everything and lament.
If anyone and any organization receives financial support, Satan accuses that they must pay the price. So, you have to think that nothing is free. Anyone who misuses public money must be punished.
So being indebted is never a good thing. We must always be self-reliant with a sense of ownership.
Teacher’s Economic View
<26-55> My economic view contains no ulterior motives. I seek fortune for Korea together with God; and I seek to construct Korea’s economy with God’s guidance. I have been the most unselfish and public-minded out of anyone in seeking this goal. Therefore, whoever tries to oppose me will come to ruin. If you carry this belief with you, even if things seem to be impossible, everything will eventually work out for you.
True Parents' economic view is that they have no self-interest. In order to dominate the fortunes of a country, one must move the economy selflessly with a more public mind than any other central figure who has come so far.
Money can bring you blessings, but don't forget that it can also bring you disaster. You need to know that fortune and misfortune always come at the same time together.
I heard that the Korean government investigated True Parents' personal property in the past and found that none of the property was under True Parents’ name. The government official who investigated this was very moved.
Father is really a public person. That is why no one can accuse Father and Mother.
It can be seen that True Parents pursued God's will and goal for the sake of humankind from a public position, more than anyone else.
If you use money publicly, the spirit world will always work and greater blessings will come. However, it is a fact that if you use money focused on your individual self, the good fortune that came to you will also go away.
That is why as a public leader I am always very serious. Of course, in the American system no public leader can misuse money. However, even if someone donates (something) for my own family or whatever, I always try to use it in a public way. Otherwise, if I do not use money properly, that blessing becomes a disaster. I know the way. How can I receive a blessing from heaven? (Through) my public mindset centering on my original mind. This is very important.
That’s why as a central figure if you use money for the public purpose, not just your own self(?), I am telling you, God always blesses you, and your church always receives a blessing from Heavenly God.
There are three important things to watch out for when going on a public path. First, what kind of view do you have about material things? Do you treat material publicly or privately? The second is the view on the opposite gender. It is a matter of whether you control your sexual desires or not. The third is the question of whether you hurt or misuse someone’s heart or not.
Father always mentions these points of view. Your point of view should center on God and on the public. Second is your view of the opposite gender, how you treat the opposite sex. Can you control your sexual desire or not? If you do not control it, this is a really big problem. Third, as an Abel figure, as husband, a wife, parent or a Cain figure, you should not hurt others, do you hurt your object partner or not. You really have to be careful. Often we misuse and hurt someone’s heart. That is an issue.
We have to really be careful about these three important things.

We Must Live Carefully Checking Truth and Falseness
1.When we say that some person is “sincere” or “insincere,” what kind of person are you really? There are often times when we do not know how to distinguish truth and falseness and cause confusion. When I hold onto falseness when I should hold onto truth, something feels regretful and uneasy, and I feel the emptiness of my heart. All things give and receive with the sun and air very faithfully for the sake of their own survival. However, only humans lack sincerity. There is some void, and there is a mixture of truth and falsehood. We often become tempted by the external environment, have interest in worthless things, and become concerned about unnecessary things. That is why we must always live carefully checking whether we are true or false people by asking “Am I really resurrected?” and “Am I really reborn?”
What kind of person are you really? There are often times when we do not know how to distinguish truth and falsehood and cause confusion.
When I hold onto falseness, something feels regretful and uneasy, and I feel the emptiness of my heart.
But if you hold on to truth, you will always be filled with desire and hope. This is just like all things grow by giving and receiving with the sun and air very faithfully for the sake of their own survival. Therefore, above all else, you must know that you must be sincere to yourself. Sincerity.
If someone looks at you or not does not matter.
If you live faithfully according to the desires of your original mind, you will feel amazing cosmic energy and vitality elements.
The Meaning of Distinguishing Good
and Evil Well
2. Do I really use money preciously and valuably? When I sing praise, do I sing with all my heart and soul? When I pray, do I pray as a formality or with my heart? When I suffer, do I complain or give thanks? Am I making mistakes that I am not aware of and lamenting that I must not be like this? In this way, you must distinguish good and evil well in your life of faith. Each of us must discover our true self. We can say that “true self” can mean a person who can distinguish good and evil well. Being able to distinguish good and evil well means being able to tell if there are any useless thoughts or blanks and distinguish between truth and falseness regarding yourself.
We must carefully distinguish between truth and falsehood in our life of faith. Being able to distinguish good and evil well means being able to tell if there are any useless thoughts or blanks and distinguish between truth and falseness regarding yourself. You should always live your life without hesitation while asking your original mind. Your original mind knows very well. No one can run away from the original mind.
That is why we have recently spoken continuously about the original mind and the evil mind.
When I sing a praise, do I sing it with all my heart and sincerity, or do I sing because I am swept away by the environment since everyone else sings? When I pray, do I pray formally, or sincerely from the heart? When I deal with people, it is whether I treat them heartistically with pleasure or formally in a profession.
When I suffer, do I complain or give thanks? Do I habitually commit mistakes that I am not aware of and lament that I should not be like this? If my spirit body is sincere, there is no doubt that it will surely grow. This is because a sincere person is sincere in every moment without a void.
The Reason a Heart of Gratitude Does Not Come Out
3. If I distinguish good and evil well and always keep myself sincere, my heart will be stable, and joy and gratitude will come out. If I continue to have a heart of gratitude, my heart will be strong, and I will always be hopeful. But why does a heart of gratitude not come out? It is because I am false. It is because I am unable to be genuine and sincere in my life. It is also because I am too formal or full of useless thoughts. It is also because I do not have truth and sincerity in my thoughts. This happens when growing organisms do not have the moisture it needs when it withers. However, when there is sufficient moisture, the leaves look vigorous, have a good color, and look very fresh. When we look at living organisms, we can have an intuition like manifesting joy. When the sun is shining brightly during the day, the plants look a little weak, but when you see them in the early morning, leaves and grass look very fresh.
But why does a heart of gratitude not come out? It is because I am false. It is because I am unable to be genuine and sincere in my life.
We are not talking about (telling the) truth or telling a lie, not that. I am talking about whether you are sincere or insincere. Are you really sincere in every moment? Are you a true person? If you are not sincere enough, (then) you are false.
It is also because I am too formal or full of useless thoughts and my mood fluctuates depending on the external atmosphere.
If I distinguish good and evil well and always preserve my sincere self, my heart will be stable, and joy and gratitude will come out. If I continue to have a grateful heart, my heart will be strong and always full of hope. Dissatisfaction and complaints have no space to settle in my mind.
A Genuine Person
4. Just as our hearts rejoice when we look at plants or trees that are living freshly, our hearts today also rejoice when our hearts that arise from the Word are well preserved within us with gratitude. We ask if our hearts today really give and receive well according to the law of give and receive action just like living things. Do I have a heart of gratitude? Do I have hope? Am I motivated? Living plants in the morning are very hopeful. They are very fresh. They are showing a really good side to us. In the same way, is our heart today having good give and receive of emotion and intellect centered on the Word? The question is when we recite the Family Pledge or offer bows, does such a hopeful heart come out or not? A person who preserves such content well can only be seen as a genuine person.
What kind of person is sincere? The evidence for a sincere person is that they are always hopeful, motivated, active, grateful, and joyful.
All things have no void at all. All things do their best in the given reality and are always fresh and alive because they give and receive well with the sun and air. Therefore, we must live with our hearts that arise from the Word. If we always have a good relationship with the Word and give and receive well, our spirit will always be resurrected, grow, and develop.
The reason your life feels hopeless and lacks gratitude is because you cannot live with a heart that arises from the Word. You must clearly know that the Word is hope, resurrection, and life.
Today I have talked to you about the meaning of sincerity and “The Reason a Heart of Gratitude Does Not Come Out.”
