Moving South and the Providential Period of Preparation #56 - December 20, 2021
Do you know where I am now? I am in Washington, D.C. Yesterday I came here and had the opportunity to greet many of our brothers and sisters. I was really extremely happy to meet our beloved Heavenly Parents’ children.
Yesterday President Naokimi and I came here and visited the Columbia Road(?) Church. All our Columbia community members welcomed me so warmly. I remember 22 or 23 years ago I worked very closely with our Columbia Church with our Japanese sisters. I have a beautiful memory (of that time).
Then we had a wonderful Christmas party with all the community members in the Washington area at the Washington Times building. Nearly 400 members gathered there, and we had a delicious dinner together and had a great time as one large community. Later we had a beautiful meeting with key leaders and members of the Columbia Road(?) Church about how we can improve our community. It was positive and good give-and-take action. I really appreciate all the members of the Columbia Road(?) Church.
Let’s again study our True Mother’s word. Today I’d like to talk about “Moving south and the providential period of preparation” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 1.
While my mother was attending the Inside the Womb Church, her brother, my uncle Hong Sun-jeong, returned home from studying abroad in Japan. He then went to South Korea and joined the army there. My uncle was a dignified and charming person. My grandmother very much missed her son while he was serving in the military. One of the reasons my grandmother, my mother and I came to the South was to see him. We went to Seoul and settled there. When we first arrived in Seoul we lived at Hyochang-dong, and that is where I entered Hyochang Elementary School. My maternal grandmother, Grandmother Jo, was always with me, and whenever we walked down the street together people would stroke my hair and tell me how pretty I was. It was a time when other people could not go about freely, but I roamed to and fro and ran errands, and was much loved. Even in the process of coming to the South, we were able to cross the borders without any mishap because we were all women and the group included me, a small child.
I was popular wherever I went and grew up receiving much love from the many people around me. This is why I later thought, “If I had not married young, I could have been lost to the secular world. Maybe this is the reason God brought me to the Holy Wedding early in life and embraced me in His arms.” I was eight years old (by Korean reckoning) when the Korean War broke out. We were living in Seoul so we had to flee from there, and my uncle helped us tremendously. Daemonim thought only about meeting the Lord, for whom she continued offering her sincere devotions. As a medical officer in the army, my uncle knew in advance that the Han River Bridge was going to be blown up. He had a pass to cross the bridge, and he drove my grandmother, Daemonim and me across it in a military vehicle so we could flee further south.
As soon as we crossed the bridge, my uncle told us to get out of the vehicle and take cover. We did as he said. At that moment the bridge was blown up, and many soldiers who were still crossing the bridge fell into the river and lost their lives. We were safe because of my uncle's help. Most Korean people my age have gone through wars and difficult times, but I was able to pass through that precarious period in safety because I was always protected by Heaven in all things. I lived through the Korean War without any trouble or misadventure. I can remember the time when we were fleeing from the North. I caught a cold and Daemonim made me bite down on taffy to prevent me from coughing so we would not be heard. Also, when I was injured, she mashed cactus and cooked rice together and applied that to my injury to make the pus ooze out, and that healed me. (1999.10.21, Punta del Este, Uruguay)
What we see today with our own eyes is not everything. Tracing back to 1950, it was the year the Korean Civil War broke out. South Koreans were pushed all the way to the southern end of the peninsula, and only through the help of the UN troops were they able to move northward again, in the process of which the entire nation came to lie in ruins. You have no idea how difficult the lives of the general public became then. Most of them could not even manage one meal a day. That was how dismal the circumstances were. At the time, it was not yet 100 years since Christianity had been first introduced into Korea, so the nation mostly followed Confucianism or Buddhism. Therefore, there were many Buddhist monks.
One day, one such monk saw me and asked Daemonim, “Is this your daughter?” When she answered yes, he told her, “She is a daughter worth more than ten sons, so raise her well.” He also added, “Your daughter will get married when she is young to a man much older than her, but he will have the ability to dominate the land, sea and air.” When I now think about those words, I am deeply moved in my heart, but 50 years ago I could not even imagine what that meant and only thought that it would be more difficult than plucking a star from heaven. The prophecy made by a monk who was passing us by, however, has come true. (2007.05.01, Fukuoka, Japan)
Although True Mother suffered countless hardships and unspeakable sacrifices, we can know well through her testimony how God protected her.
We should also look back on the past and appreciate that everything was God's protection and God's love. Even when I look at myself, tears of gratitude flow when I think about how hard God has worked to raise me until now as I go through countless experiences and hardships.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: Principle of Creation 7 - The Relationship between God and the Universe
♦ Every creation is God's substantial object partner, formed in His likeness as a discrete projection of the dual characteristics of God, who exists as the incorporeal subject partner to all beings.
♦ Human beings are object partners embodied at the level of image, and the rest of creation are object partners embodied at the level of symbol.
♦ These object partners are called individual embodiments of truth, in image and symbol.
♦ The relationship between God and the universe can be summarized thus:
♦ God is the invisible subject partner, and the universe as a whole is a substantial object partner to God. In accordance with the Principle of Creation, God's dual characteristics manifest themselves symbolically or in image as individual embodiments of truth, which constitute the universe.
♦ The relationship between God and the universe is similar to that between internal nature and external form. It is a mutual relationship like that between dual characteristics: internal and external, cause and result, vertical and horizontal, subject partner and object partner, and so forth.
Based on this content let me explain in more detail.
♦ Since human beings and the rest of creation have been formed in God’s likeness as discrete projection of His dual characteristics, 1) they are individual embodiments of truth, 2) are unique and 3) are the only honored one in heaven and on earth
♦ Therefore all human beings and all things are precious because they have entered into existence as resemblance of God’s dual characteristics. Thus, all human beings have the right to be respected and all things must be cherished.
This is very important content.
First, since all individual embodiments of truth resemble God's dual characteristics (internal nature and external form, yang and yin), there is no existence that is not precious.
That is because they were created by God. Each human being resembles God’s dual characteristics.
Second, all individual embodiments of truth are unique beings: No being is alike. I am the only one in this world.
As an individual embodiment of truth, I am a unique being who resembles God, and in my field only I can return joy to God as a unique being. No one can return to God the joy in my field forever in this universe on my behalf. You are a unique being. Nobody is the same as you. You are a unique being in the world forever. That is why, centering on your own field, no one (else) can create joy and happiness (for God?) on your behalf. You are a very, very special being. You are a unique being. In your area, your own field, you are the only one who can return joy and happiness to Heavenly Parent. How precious I am.
Third, the only honored one in heaven and on earth: It means “Above heaven, beneath heaven, I alone am precious.”
For this reason, all human beings should be respected. All come from a holy God and are like God. So what we need to realize is that I am the supreme being in the universe and all beings are within me.
God is in me. All things are there. The universe is in me. This is because the existence that is causing me is a miniature of the universe. We need to know the value “Who I am,” what value I have. If you know your own value, how can you commit suicide? How can you ignore yourself? Ignoring yourself means ignoring God. You come from the holy God. As long as you come from the holy Heavenly Parent, you are very, very precious, you are a holy man or a holy woman.
This is where the idea of human dignity comes from. All existence comes from God's absolute sex, love, and heart.
Outside people say we are human beings, everyone has equality. They do not explain why human beings are so precious. We come from Heavenly God. We are individual embodiments of truth. Very precious.
♦ Human beings can experience God’s concrete heart and love because they are God’s individual embodiments of truth in image.
♦ All creation are God’s individual embodiments of truth in symbol and were created as the human being’s object of beauty. Thus, all creation exist as human being’s textbook of love and entity to complete the emotions of human beings.
You need to understand why creation exists. What is the main reason? Father said, (it is) “in order to complete the emotions of human beings.” That is why all of creation is the textbook of love … to complete the emotions of human beings.
Based on this EDP guidance, let’s study Father’s word in more detail.
A New View on the Creation
<9-168> We must not overlook the creation. Since all beings in the world of God’s great creation are headed for the goal of one love, God’s whole energy is devoted even in the smallest beings. Although God created the universe in six days, each being, for example, the beings created on the first or second day are also connected to the idea of creation of the macrocosm that will take place after the six days. Therefore, it can be concluded that all creation are rooted in God’s heart.
No matter how insignificant the beings God created are, it should be known that God created them with his entire sincerity, jeongseong and love.
God invested in creating the universe in six days, but there is nothing that does not have God’s heart at its root.
Therefore, when we deal with all creation, we need to know that God's love and heart have been invested into each of them.
Knowing that all created beings have been touched by God's love, you must be able to feel God’s heart and love. That way, humans finally become the owners of love for all things.
Imagine that each and every item was created by God himself with his own hands. Imagine that God planted every tree individually and that God himself planted every single blade of grass. Think of all things being touched one by one by the hand of God. Think of every single thing as God’s greatest masterpiece.
Just as we go to an art gallery to admire a famous painting, imagine that every day we look at all things and admire the masterpieces of God. I can't help but praise God every day.
Whenever I think about each item of creation, how can we compare (these) to someone’s painting, someone’s work of (even the) greatest art. We cannot compare it to God’s creation. That’s why whenever I look at each item of all things, each tree, each plant, we really need to admire it. “Wow! This is a masterpiece of God!” We (can) admire his creation every day -- “Praise the lord, praise God! Wow! Your masterpiece is really amazing!”
And when God created man and all things, he invested 100% and 120% of his energy and devotion. How did Heavenly Father invest so much for human beings? Let's see True Father's words.
To What Extent Do I Need to Invest?
“With all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your power, 120%.”
“If you invest ‘adequately’, that isn’t True Love. True love doesn’t mean investing, say, 70 or 80%. If one invests ‘adequately’ and there is something left over, one tends to calculate the amount. But God created investing completely, 100%, even 120%. A perfect plus creates a perfect minus.”
I use these words of True Parents often.
Parents are willing to invest 100% and 120% for their children. Parents are willing to invest for their children, risking their own lives if possible. In this way, true love tries to invest 100% and 120% for the object partner. If God only invests 50% and 60% of his energy when creating human beings and all things as parents, then God can never become human parents. He only can be a creator, but he cannot be a parent.
God is a parent to human beings. The heart of the parent invests 100% or 120%, even 200%, at the risk of their life, that is the heart of the parent. All children love their own parents because their parents love them in such a way. If God had created human beings just using 50%, 30%, even 70%, and had not invested all his best, then he would not have had the qualification to be human beings’ parent. Right? Then he would only be the creator. When I realized this from Father’s word, God is really amazing!
Then no one would accept God as their parent if he only had invested a small percentage for human beings. Then you could not create a relationship of heart and love with God.
This is really a great point about how Heavenly Father created human beings.
Humans want to invest 100%, 120% for their children and for those they love because all of them resemble God's true love. If you love your spouse 60%, is your spouse happy or not? Let’s say you love your spouse 99%, then still your spouse is not completely happy. Why? The nature of love is to invest everything with nothing left over. That is the nature of True Love.
If God were to love you only 30%, then would you be happy? If your children love you just 80%, are you happy? The nature of True love wants to receive love 100%, 120%.

When I studied the Bible (I wondered), God is an omnipotent God, so why couldn't he rest after he finished creating all beings? Also, why didn’t he create everything at once? When I was young I had that kind of question
Genesis 2:2-3: “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, Because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
Couldn't God actually have created everything at once? Why did it take 6 days?
And then on the 7th day, why did he rest from his work? We know that God is an omnipotent and omniscient God.
Why did Heavenly Father rest after He had created human beings and all things? Do you think God needed a rest?
When I was young. I thought God was like a magician. He could have created whatever he wanted. However, I totally misunderstood. I did not know the nature of God and the attributes of God. After I knew and realized the attributes of true love, my life changed completely.
When God created man and woman and all things, if his energy and strength had still remained, then he would not have put 100% or 120% into his creation. Right?
If God had only invested 30%, 40% or 60% in his creation of human beings and all things, then he would not have done his best. When Heavenly Father created each human being and all things with 100% energy or 120% energy, even though he was almighty God, he would have had no more power left. He would have needed to rest. That means he invested absolutely (everything). How beautiful!
When a mother delivers a baby, she invests 100% or 120% and has no more power left. That is why she needs to rest. Then I understood God’s creation, how he created me. He could create me by investing 100% or 120%. A mother cannot deliver 6 or 7 babies at once, but one by one. Beautiful, isn’t it? We can only understand that God is love through this way.
It should be noted that God blessed us to have dominion over all things in order to feel their circumstances and heart.
In order to experience God's heart and love, humans must also participate in God's creation. The condition of participating in God's creation is the condition of controlling all things. It is self-dominion. Then you will become the master of all things.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Moses and the Course of Faith - How Can the Level of Heart of a Woman in the Mother's Position Be Raised?
I would like to share very important things. This is really very important guidance by True Parents.
1. First, the husband, who is in the position of the archangel, must serve his wife well as God. Because the archangel was in a position to dominate Eve, she fell. The archangel’s original position was to serve Eve as God’s daughter. To do this, the archangel must know well that his position is that of a servant who serves Eve.
That is why Father said clearly when we receive the blessing, what is the position of the man? The archangel. What is the position of the woman? It is the original Eve position. True Father’s position is the original Adam’s position. When we receive the Blessing, the Man’s position is that of the archangel. That’s why in the Three-Day Ceremony, the position of the man is that of the archangel and the woman’s position is as God’s daughter. This is not just for a ceremony of three days. In our life course, we need to go through this kind of process.
2. Although the husband position is the position of the archangel, if her husband loves and serves his wife, the wife will also serve and respect her husband like the original Adam, so the level of her heart will rise.
When you receive the Blessing, as a man your position is that of the archangel. As such, how will you deal with Eve? She is in the position of God’s daughter. Therefore I need to become a servant. I need to treat my wife as God’s daughter, the messiah’s, original Adam’s wife. We need to know this. However, when Eve receives incredible love from her husband, then you restore the position of restored Adam recognized by your Eve, your spouse. “Wow! I completely surrender to my spouse. I love you! You are truly, truly my husband.” Then your position is raised to that of the restored Adam’s position. If you are not recognized by your wife, your position is still that of the archangel.
The nature of the archangel is to try to dominate, try to control, to subjugate. The archangel’s nature easily becomes angry: “I want to dominate my wife.” That is the culture of the archangel. What is the original position of the archangel? To serve Eve. You need to know that your position is that of a servant; you need to be humble. Through serving and serving and loving and loving, it is the way I can restore my position to that of Adam. People do not know this principle. “I am the husband, do you understand? I am the man, OK?” It does not work. You need to know the reason. Without being recognized by your wife, your position is still that of the archangel. When she voluntarily, happily, joyfully recognizes you -- “You are truly, truly my husband!” -- then your position is already restored.
3. The reason we cannot ignore others carelessly is that the moment we ignore each other -- normally as husband and wife we ignore each other -- our own standards are lowered that much. On the other hand, valuing others is the same as thinking of one's own value as precious. All of these things are reciprocal. If I value others, my value goes up, and if I ignore others, the standard of my heart is lowered.
4. Therefore, my value is ultimately determined according to the partner’s power and also the environment. If I ignore people because they ignore me, and I respect people unconditionally because they respect me, then my standard of heart will fluctuate, going up and down depending on the environment. If I come to respect even an insignificant person, my value will increase that much more.
Why do people ignore you? Because you are the one who ignores them. You need to maintain your own value.
5. Even in a couple’s relationship, if there is a wife who serves her husband as God, the husband will also regard his wife as God and love her. When this happens, the wife will be loved by her husband, the level of the women’s heart will be raised, she will give birth to a child of good lineage, and she will glorify her husband. Ultimately, all results are passed down to children.
6. However, most men in the world do not like to respect their wives.
That is why they are archangels. You don’t like your wife; you don’t love your wife; you are not recognized by your wife. Then you are still an archangel because you try to dominate your wife.
For example, when Korean men experience stressful things in the secular world, they come home and try to relieve that stress through their wives. They get mad at their wife and let their emotions explode.
7. There is a Korean proverb that says, 'If a daughter-in-law is upset because of her mother-in-law, she kicks the stomach of a dog that is eating.' It's the same as fighting outside and coming home angry with your wife or the family.
8. Therefore, wherever you go, in any environment, you must control yourself and always create harmony with your relationships. ‘The relationship between my leader and me‘ ‘the relationship between my siblings and me’ ‘relationships with my inferiors.’ In life, if the relationships between these three fields are not smooth, they will conflict with each other, wasting time and missing the right moment.
9. Although Moses was in the environment of the Pharaoh's palace, he had a good relationship with his mother, so he was raised as a patriot who loved his country, Israel. Therefore, human beings must grow up in a good environment. A good environment means meeting a good mother and being nurtured, and it means an environment in which couples serve and love each other.
As a woman, when we are recognized by our husband, then we have restored the original Eve position. As a wife, if you are not recognized by your husband, that means you are still in the position of fallen Eve. As a man, I need to overcome the position of the archangel. I need to acquire the restored Adam’s position. Also, if the woman is not recognized by her husband, her position remains the fallen Eve’s position. That is why (the couple) needs to cooperate with each other, love each other.
When I think about my life, to be frank my position is still that of the archangel. I have not yet been recognized by my wife. Maybe I cannot love my wife enough. That’s why I am struggling: how can I graduate from the position of the archangel? When I am absolutely, truly, truly recognized by my wife -- “Hey, Dr. Yong, I truly love you. Without you I cannot survive. You are my eternal husband. I love you so much.” -- then my position will be restored to that of the restored Adam.
How about you, my brothers and sisters? Don’t just think about your external position: “I am the husband;” “I am the wife.” This is only external thinking, emphasizing one’s own position: “Man and woman, equality, equality, equality!” Even though you are talking about man and woman’s equality, why doesn’t it work? They do not know the internal content; they do not know the Principle. I really surrender to the Divine Principle teaching. I really surrender to our True Parents’ guidance.
Hey, all brothers! Let’s overcome the position of the archangel. Let’s truly become God’s original Adam’s position. All women! Let’s attain the original Eve’s position. If we have that kind of relationship between husband and wife as the original Adam position and original Eve position, then we will have a better child, a high quality child. When I truly love my spouse -- “She is my God!” -- this is the way we can raise up our spouse’s position. She will improve, inspired by her husband, and will be able to raise children very well. She will create beautiful cooperation between mother and son. Do you agree with me?♦
