Bogoshipoyo, I miss you so much! You need to learn Korean. These are very beautiful words. I miss all of you! 

Yesterday, I had a meeting with Bergen County members in the New Jersey Family Church. I have decided to visit each county. I would like to have a more personal relationship. It was a beautiful atmosphere. Nearly 80 people came and we had good give-and-take. I tried to meet with each person even though my job is very busy. Next week I will go to meet another beautiful county. Thank you to those who participated. We had a beautiful time.

Today I’d like to talk about “The Blessing and Eternal Life” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.

<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between February 23 and April 16 at True Family Values Movement hoondok rallies for the study of True Parents' words in Japan and the United States.>

Christians proclaim that any individual can possess eternal life just by believing in Jesus. This is a beautiful idea. I ask them how one can secure eternal life, and they answer, “Just believe.” Please consider that the life of the spirit has to be continuous. Considering this, you know you follow this path forever. The functioning of the physical body is continuous. For instance, our circulatory system, nervous system and brain function continuously and smoothly. In order for this to happen, the body consumes a great deal of energy. With this in mind, how would you answer the question of how to secure eternal life? The life of the spirit also has continuity. Are you truly able to claim, “My eternal life is guaranteed through faith alone”? Does salvation come from believing, and nothing else? It absolutely does not. True salvation has to be continuous, from this physical world to the spirit world, and this comes through the practice of true love.

According to the principles by which God created this world, only a true person can become God's true love partner. Only with true love can one become such a person and obtain eternal life. If you are in the realm of true love, you are able to see where you will be living in the spirit world and on the earth. Have you ever heard about how the rats on a ship will run down the mooring rope to find safety on land when the ship is sinking? Even small animals like rats know how to save their lives, however, people, who are the leaders of everything, cannot do so. This is because of the Fall of humankind. The fundamental question is how to free our lives from evil love, evil life and evil lineage. Only in this context does liberation have any meaning. Liberation means becoming free from something, doesn't it? Only complete liberation from evil brings true freedom, and true freedom is self-sustaining.

How do we obtain eternal life? Does salvation come from believing, and nothing else? It absolutely does not. True salvation has to be continuous, from this physical world to the spirit world, and this comes through the practice of true love. 

Salvation by faith is the formation and growth stage of salvation, not complete salvation. We must receive eternal salvation to live forever. However, eternal life begins when a married couple receives the Blessing and realizes true love. 

Therefore, this true love cannot be achieved alone. The subject and the object must be paired to give and receive. We must know clearly that the beginning of eternal life begins through a married couple. 

The next most important thing is that eternal life must begin with a husband and wife and establish the 4 great realms of heart and the three great kingships in the family. Without these four realms of heart and three great kingships, true love cannot be completed. Therefore, eternal life is possible only through the perfection of a family centered on true love. 

Where can we experience true love? In the family. True Parents said if we enter the realm of true love, we will (be able to) see where we will live in the spiritual world or on earth because in the realm of true love, we can see both the spiritual world and the physical world at the same time. When we go to the spiritual world, we know in advance where we are going and see it. This is amazing!

When we go to the spiritual world, will we see which level we will stay in? Before we go to the spiritual world, we can see it. Father said if we cannot see it, it is proof we have not yet entered the world of true love.

Before he died when he was 103 years old I met Rev. Yo Han Lee. Wow! He was talking about where he would go in the spiritual world! 

Today when I studied Father’s and Mother’s word, I realized if we can already know where we will stay in the spiritual world, that means we have already entered the realm of true love. Why can’t we know and see it? Because we have not yet entered the realm of true love.

How can we accomplish it? By centering on the family. It begins with a blessed couple. We need to experience the Four Great Realms of Heart and Three Great Kingships and also loving our neighbor. Then we will reach a certain level and even though we are living on the earth, we (will be able to) feel the spiritual world. We can reach somewhere in the spiritual world. If we cannot see this, that means we still have far to go. Our love has not yet reached a certain level. 

By just believing we cannot be saved.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Human Fall 24: The Primary Characteristics of 

the Fallen Nature

• The primary characteristics of the fallen nature can be divided broadly into four types:

1. The first is failing to take God's standpoint. A principal cause of the Archangel's fall was his failure to love Adam with the same heart and perspective as God; instead he felt jealous of Adam. This led him to tempt Eve.

2. The second is leaving one's proper position. Lucifer desired to enjoy the same position of love in the human world as he had in the angelic world. This unrighteous desire caused him to leave his position and fall.

3. The third is reversing dominion. The angel, who was supposed to come under the dominion of human beings, instead dominated Eve. Then Eve, who was supposed to come under the dominion of Adam, dominated him instead.

4. The fourth is multiplying the criminal act. The Archangel spread his sin to Eve, and Eve to Adam.

Let’s study Father’s word.

I am the Fruit of Historical Sins

<1973.8.5> Because elements of Satan and the lineage of Satan, which has the fallen nature, are planted here, you have to remove them completely and repent for historical sins. You have to be aware of the fact that you are the fruit of historical sins. You are not much different from robbers and murderers in the world. When you make one wrong move, murders occur. In your ancestors, there may be robberers and murderers, and all kinds of people. Even though there were such people in your ancestors, they just don’t exist in this age. 

When we look those sinful ancestors, we can understand that all kinds of sinful looks are all connected based on tribes from ancestors. Since it is the fruit of historic sins, we have to offer the historical repentance. This is the first rule of the life of faith that believers of the Unification Church have to follow. To be aware that you are the fruit of historical sins is the first step of faith. For this reason, you have a responsibility to remove historical sins. You have to remove them mercilessly. The blood of your ancestors is stirring in your body. (1973.8.5) 

How do you Repent and Remove Historical Sin?

I will summarize what Father was talking about.

1. I must realize that I am the fruit of historical sins and repent for the history. 

Because we are the fruit of historical sins, we need to repent historically.

2. Do not avoid the sins passed down from our ancestors, but take responsibility as if you are representing history. 

We are the outcome of 6,000 years of history. So we are the one who needs to settle down and solve all the issues and sins.

3. Have a sense of collective responsibility to regard the sins of others and the sins of our ancestors as our own.

That is why collective responsibility is so important. We cannot just blame our ancestors. “Why are my ancestors so bad? Not so good? That is why my family has no more fortune and we have children problems, someone is sick, someone has died early.”

We should not blame them. If we do, our descendants will also blame us. We have already met the True Parents and know the Divine Principle. We need to have a sense of collective responsibility. “OK, in the name of God, True Parents and tribal messiah, I want to be responsible. I want to liberate them and bless them.” If we have such collective responsibility, our ancestors will bow down before us and really appreciate us. 

That is our portion of responsibility. We met True Parents. Why did God choose us? Why are we chosen people? It is not just to liberate us and our own tribe. We also need to liberate our ancestors. Then we can remove our historical sin.

4. Have the willing attitude to pay any indemnity and any sacrifice for the sins of our ancestors.

“Heavenly Father, I am the representative of 6,000 years of history. Okay. I will willingly pay any indemnity. Please give me a harder job, any hard cross. If there is a way to pay all the indemnity on behalf of my ancestors, I will do it.”

We need to take ownership. We have to be responsible for historical sin. Then all our ancestors will say, “You are a true ancestor! You are really the messiah because you are the one who saved me.”

Then all our descendants will say, “You are like Abraham. You are our ancestor. Because of you, we receive so much benefit! Thank you so much!

That is why I am asking all my brothers and sisters to do tribal messiahship. It is very important. It is not just for us. When we become the tribal messiah and register in the CheonBo Won, we become the ancestor, liberate all our ancestors and give an incredible benefit to our descendants. We are not ourself (only). We are the representative of 6,000 years of history. It is not just for our own family, for our own sake, for our ancestors, but at the same time for our descendants as well.

That is why everybody needs to fulfill tribal messiahship and become a member of the CheonBo Won. This is our heavenly duty for our ancestors, our descendants and our family as well.

5. Think that our own crimes are also resolved from a historical standpoint beyond the personal level.

We should not just think of our own sin (in isolation). Everything is historically connected, right? That is why when we commit our own sin, we need to cry out, “Heavenly Father, my father, mother, ancestors and central figures were like that. What shall I do?” When we have our own crime, we need to think historically how we can settle this kind of sin issue.

6. You must become the substance of God's goodness through living for the sake of others.

What is the best way to pay indemnity and remove historical sin? We need to sacrifice more than any ancestors. We need to go to the front line. We need to work harder. We need to live for the sake of others. There is no other way. Living for the sake of others is the way to really resolve(?) our historical sin.

Christianity did not teach this kind of thing in detail, but Father and Mother gave us incredible guidance. We have to be responsible for our ancestors and to be proud of ourself in front of our descendants.

The Bible tells us not to blame our ancestors:

Matthew7:1-5 

1 Don't condemn others, and God won't condemn you.

2 God will be as hard on you as you are on others! He will treat you exactly as you treat them.

3 You can see the speck in your friend's eye, but you don't notice the log in your own eye.

4 How can you say, "My friend, let me take the speck out of your eye," when you don't see the log in your own eye?

5 You're nothing but show-offs! First, take the log out of your own eye. Then you can see how to take the speck out of your friend's eye.

We should not condemn others or our ancestors. (If we do,) our descendants will condemn us. We should not condemn our neighbors or anyone else. Rather, we have to be responsible. “Your sin is my sin. Your problem is my problem.” We should take responsibility as the owner of the Cheon Il Guk. We are living in an incredible era. We have to be responsible.

That is why True Mother said, “I want to finish everything, any issue, any problem, within my own generation.” She has such strong determination. As her children we need to have the same kind of heart.

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Life of Faith Centering on The Trinity

Parents Attend their Children

1. Mothers should raise their children with a heart that always attends them. For example, when your child comes home from school, go outside the door and wait. If you know when your child will come and greet them in advance, will that child become a filial child? Or will they become an unfilial child? If a mother treats her child respectfully, that child will cherish his mother. The child will think that their mother is different from other people. A child who grows up with such a mother's care really changes as they grow up. And correct the words you use towards your children. Check and reflect on what words you are using to your children. People who have a bad relationship with their parents and children should first correct the words they use. If you always use the language of gentleness, encouragement, trust, and filial piety, the relationship between parents and children becomes closer in heart. 

2. If you look at people in bad relationships, there are a lot of problems with the language they use. For people with bad relationships, every word they use cuts the relationship to pieces. However, Heaven worries about such a family and worries about such a church. The more Cain-like (the) members (are) in a church, the more easily they criticize others and complain more, and the more easily they criticize the center of the church. Cain-like church members come without yearning when they attend the church. In order to live a life of faith well, you must always have the Abel of faith that you long for. I myself must be the subject of longing and also the object of longing. 

Let’s summarize:

1. (We should) think of our children as God's children, not ours, and not try to control them, but rather think that we are attending them.

For example, if True Mother were to ask us to take care of one of her children or grandchildren, if, (say,) Hyojin nim’s child came to our family and we were responsible for him, we would need to think that way.

We need to think of our children as God’s children, not just our own children. If we think our children are our own children and we try to subjugate and control them, this kind of mindset and attitude is completely wrong. Even though they came out of our body, we need to think that God borrowed our body. This boy and girl are God’s children. 

What should our attitude be (toward them)? They are Abel to us. We need to attend them and (have) a filial heart toward them. This is important in caring for them. First of all, we need to treat our children as God’s children. As long as we think of our children as our own, then we try to subjugate them all the time. That is why we should completely throw away the concept, “You are my children.”

2. When our child comes home from school, (we should) go outside the door and wait for them.

Have we ever experienced this? Our children are not ours but God’s; we are in the servant’s position. When God’s child comes back home from school, what should we do? We go out and wait for him. If we practice this, it is incredible.

Before I became a missionary to Malaysia, Rev. Yo Han Lee told me, “Little Yong, when you become a missionary you will probably have to take care of the members who go out fund-raising every day. When they go out each day, you need to say, ‘bye-bye’ by their car and hug them one by one. Secondly, before they come back home, you need to wait outside for five or ten minutes with a longing heart.” This is incredible guidance. I did this in Malaysia, and I could have really heartistic relationships – not only for members. 

Even for our children, with a longing heart I waited for them to come back from school. When my children went to school, I did not just say goodbye in our (home), I want outside and said “bye-bye.” We need to attend them.

3. If the child is coming home late, the mother should wait until they return to eat dinner.

I learned from my wife. Until our children came back, she did not have dinner and then had a meal with them. That is why our children could not have dinner outside – because Mommy was waiting for them.

4. We should be sure to s ee our child off when he is going to school.

5. When the child is fasting for 7 days, it is difficult to do it alone, so the mother should do the fast with him.

This is a real experience. I saw one child, who was a really filial child. I wondered how his mother had raised him. One good example was when her child did a seven-day fast; his mother said, “This is difficult, very lonely. Let’s do it together.” Then the mother did the seven-day fast with her child! Wow! I was really moved. If parents take care of children in that way, who would not be a filial son or daughter?

6. When we have a bad relationship with our children, (we should) try to correct the words we use towards them and check and reflect on what kind of words we are using with our children. 

Why do we have a bad relationship with our children? We need to really reflect on what kind of language (we use with them.) Of course, our mindset and attitude are important, but why do we create bad relationships? Because of the words and language we use. What kind of words and language are we using? We have to be careful always. Because of our words, our language, we have a bad relationship.

7. If there is a bad relationship between parents and children, we must fix the words we use first. 

It is not just a matter of attitude. We need to fix the words we use because we hurt our father and mother, our brothers and sisters, our spouse, our children because we are using bad language. Even if we use simple language but our heart is negative, then children are influenced. 

8. (We should) always use language with gentleness, encouragement, trust, and filial piety, and avoid direct methods whenever possible. 

(We should) always encourage them. “I trust you, my son, my daughter. You can do it. I believe in you.” Always confess, “Truly I love you. You can do it.” (I discovered that) Hyojeong language is very effective.

What kind of language are we using with our children? How much do we encourage them? Not just orders: “Do this. Do that. Why don’t you do (your) homework?” We need to have enough encouragement.

9. For people with bad relationships, every single word they use cuts the relationship to pieces.

We need to check our language and attitude. We need to attend them rather than control them. Otherwise we cannot raise our children as filial sons and daughters. Am I correct? 

Life of Faith Centering on The Trinity

2. In the Family, parents worry about the youngest child. Similarly, when you come to church, you must always be concerned about, have interest in, and love the members who have just joined the church. Then you have to go and greet the oldest member in the church. I must respect the elders who are older than me, love my colleagues and juniors like me, and care for and live for the younger people in the age group. This is the life of the trinity. This is called the trinity life centered on the relationship between the top and the bottom and the horizontal. If everyone in the church lives a life of faith centered on the trinity, the atmosphere of the church cannot be bad. 

 If you just come alone on Sunday and listen to the sermon, there is no meaning. Such a person lives a life of faith like a scarecrow. The purpose of our coming to church is to heartistically give and receive. Our goal is not just to live a life of faith centered on the invisible world, conscious of the invisible God and the spirit world. It is to get closer in heart by giving and receiving the visible person as the visible God. Then heaven would want to visit such a church. Even the spirit world longs for such a place. When the church becomes a place of longing, the spirit world will surely send a new person. Witnessing is like this. Without this atmosphere, even if new people come to the church, they will never remain. 

Creating a Friendly Atmosphere in the Trinity

3. Anyone who has developed a church must have experienced it. As we were creating a new pioneer church in the early days, when students came, the pastor guided them very kindly with love and shimjeong, then student's mother came to the church. If the church creates a friendly and longing atmosphere like this, the neighbors come to the church on their own feet. In this way, if everyone in the church creates an atmosphere where everyone can live a friendly life based on the trinity, it is God who makes people gather. Such a church is bound to grow and develop automatically. And the church members feel really happy. The present era is the era of love. In the church, if everyone lives a life of longing for each other and filial piety centering on the trinity, heavenly fortune will surely come. Now is the time to move heavenly fortune by serving and being filial to church members. When the church has such a heartistic atmosphere, God and the spirit world are supposed to help witness. The spirit world will mobilize people and brings them to that church. Why can't we witness to our relatives? Because we haven't shown how happy we are that it makes our relatives envy us. If the relationship between the parents and children is good and the husband and wife relationship is good, the hearts of relatives are bound to move. Now this is the problem. If a rumor spreads that people are really envious of the married couples and children's relationships of blessed people of the Unification Church, they are bound to come to the church. Don't forget that now is the time to really show off. 

What Kind of Place is a Church that has Established the Life of Trinity?

[Life of Trinity] (We should) respect seniors who are older than us, love seniors and juniors around our age, and develop an interest in younger people and the children.

If we establish a life of trinity loving our seniors, loving our colleagues or our brothers and sisters of almost the same age horizontally, and loving those who are our children’s age as our own children, then:

1. The atmosphere of the church looks very good, creating a heaven that can be seen and felt. 

That is why when we first come to church, we need to first go and greet those who are seniors in the church, at least three or four people: “How are you, Uncle?” We should not just come and sit down and after listening to the sermon, go back (home). That is not the life of the trinity. First we need to greet seniors who are in the position of the parents. 

2. It is a place where because we consider and serve the visible person as the invisible God, we become very close in heart.

3. It is a place where God wants to dwell and the spirit world longs for.

If we establish that kind of life of trinity and really respect our elders, our senior brothers and sisters, and horizontally (greet) a few of our friends, our spouse’s level, (our) same age, and then greet younger people. This is the life of trinity. 

4. It is a place where the spirit world mobilizes and sends new people. 

If we create that kind of life of trinity in the church, then the spiritual world will mobilize and send many new people. (Our church will) automatically develop. 

5. It is a place where we can automatically grow and develop. 

6. It is a place where church members truly feel happy.

“Wow! This church is really the Kingdom of Heaven. Everybody respects me, loves me and recognizes me.” We need to create that kind of atmosphere.

The church is the training place to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. If we cannot create that kind of Kingdom of Heaven, that kind of atmosphere in our church, where can we do it? The church should be a beautiful community and (a place of) training (for) how to love each other, how to respect my seniors, my younger and own generation as well.

7. It is a place where Heavenly fortune is sure to come. Now is the time to move heavenly fortune by serving and being filial to church members. 

8. It is a place where witnessing is supposed to be done by God. 

If we create that kind of life of trinity in church, then who will do witnessing? God...

 and the spirit world. The spirit world mobilizes people and brings them to that church.

Let’s create that kind of happy family church in America! This is my goal in America. Everywhere we go if we attend any Sunday service, everybody will feel, “Wow! This is a really happy family church. Everyone is serving the seniors and the younger generation and their own age level.” If we create this life of trinity as a church, this is the Kingdom of Heaven. Let’s do that! Okay? Divine Principle is not only doctrine and theory. Let’s practice it and substantialize it in our church and in our family. I believe you can do it!♦

(Response to sharing) When each of our blessed families goes to church, we need to have a welcoming heart. (Not,) “Oh, someone needs to welcome me and console me.” We need to throw away that kind of concept. We need to really welcome everybody. Our hobby is to welcome everybody. It is hospitality, to serve (people). Then our church (will) become a happy family church, and (we will) create the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth in our church.
