  Key Points

  • It is a universal law and a principle of true love that only when we first sacrifice and invest for the sake of others can we unite and become one.

  • If we become true human beings with true love, we will be able to give and receive anywhere and with anyone.

  • In order to stand before God as his object partner and fulfill his principle of partnership, we must absolutely and completely deny ourself. We must analyze 100% where we went wrong and correct it so that not even 0.1% of our fallen self remains.

  • The vertical standard in our life of faith is the standard of attendance which comes from a vertical heart.

  • A person of good faith has a heart to serve and attend with a longing heart for God and True Parents.

  • Attending without longing is not attending.

  • Giving without longing is hypocrisy. It's not a true offering.

  • A heart of longing for God and parents casts no shadows but can perceive darkness and shadows.

  • If we have the heart to attend heaven vertically, we can perceive the hearts and circumstances of others.

  • Our goal is to live our life without shadows.

  • When we deny our self vertically, always converse with the center and become one with the center, those shadows disappear.

  • Children should be educated to act under the direction of their parents.

  • We have to throw away the mind of controlling the other person but have a heart to serve in order to create a good heartistic relationship.

  • A woman has God's position in the family, so husbands should not treat them as servants but take good care of them. Then peace can be achieved in the family.

  • One of the best ways to cultivate a longing heart is through witnessing, experiencing how much Heavenly Father is longing for his lost children.

Today is already March 1. When I think about March, I think to “March forward” more than last month, right? Let’s march forward!

Today is also a Korean holiday. Do you know Yu Gwansun? She is one of the very famous patriots in the Korean Independence Movement. She invited so many people to cheer “Og Mansei” for Korean Independence! So today the Korean people celebrate the Independence Movement.

Today I’d like to talk about “The Blessing and Eternal Life” from True Mother’s Anthology, Volume 2.

<This speech was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon between February 23 and April 16 at True Family Values Movement hoondok rallies for the study of True Parents' words in Japan and the United States.>

Through the perfect relationship of vertical and horizontal, harmonious movement in all directions, up and down, right and left, forward and back, can take place.

When vertical and horizontal are disconnected, there is no harmony. In that case, there can be no unity. True love alone can connect (the) vertical and horizontal. This brings about unity and harmony. The central thought of the Unification Church, based on the perspective of the Divine Principle, is that the ideal world is centered on true love. Ladies and gentlemen, God wants to guide humankind. God breathes through true love.

Since the rhythm of the universe is in harmony with God, the universe exists for eternity. In God's true love, we can find eternal life. You need to come to this point, so that you can belong to the realm of God's breathing. That is why, when husband and wife connect with true love, they find complete joy. When the rhythm of true love is in balance, we can love one another. In this atmosphere there is only one direction in our life. That direction is centered on God.

Both the spirit world and the physical world move in conjunction with true love. The universe maintains a natural balance, centering on the vertical axis of true love. What is the common denominator of the universe? What is the universal norm, by which people of the past and the present can live together for eternity? What is the origin of human desire? The answer to all these questions is the same. The answer is true love. The norm is not selfish love; it is true love.

Then, what is true love? Vertically and horizontally, it connects everywhere at a precise ninety-degree angle. It fits into an Oriental-style house or a western-style house, into a house facing south or a house facing north. Only the practice of true love can embrace people of all races, all nations and all religions.

There are more than six billion people living in this world at present. Yet there are not many among the world's population who understand the meaning of the marriage Blessing. It was the Unification Church that first used the word Blessing with its special meaning in relation to marriage. We have now conducted many such marriage Blessings.

Only when (there is a) perfect relationship of vertical and horizontal centered on God and true love, can the harmonious movement in all directions, up and down, right and left, forward and back, take place. When vertical and horizontal are disconnected, there is no harmony. In that case, there can be no unity.

True love alone can connect vertical and horizontal. This means that only when we first sacrifice and invest for the sake of others can we become one and unite. This is the law of the universe and the principle of true love.

When will there be unification? It is a place where 100% and 120% is invested and forgotten, and sacrificed and sacrificed until unification is achieved.

So, until the other person is greater than we are, we can experience true love only when we go out to the point where we continue to invest, serve, and sacrifice. It is an amazing word that  can experience God's true love in such a place.

Since the core of the universe pursues true love, and the center of true love is God, without the vertical spherical motion with God, top, bottom, front, left, and right cannot harmonize.

Therefore, if we have a 90-degree angle with God vertically and horizontally, no matter where in the world, we will be always be connected with Him. If the vertical relationship between us and God becomes a standard, it can be applied anywhere, and everything is set to match.

Then, what is true love? Vertically and horizontally, it connects everywhere at a precise ninety-degree angle. It fits into an Oriental-style house or a western-style house, into a house facing south or a house facing north.

Therefore, if we become true human beings with true love, we will be able to give and receive anywhere and with anyone.

How can we experience God? We need to resemble him. How can we resemble him? Invest and invest again and again and completely forget how much we have invested. Until the object partner is better than we are, we continually invest and sacrifice, give and serve and attend. Wow! This is the nature of true love.

Heavenly Parent has invested without giving up, without stopping. (He has offered) that kind of investment and sacrifice and giving for the sake of the children. That is why he has the qualification to be the parent of all humankind.

We need to resemble (him). Even though someone may be very disappointed(?), persecutes us, insults us, it does not matter. (It’s) like God’s jakk sarang, “Because you are my child, you inherit from my blood lineage. Investing and investing.”

True Father’s explanation of true love is really incredible! How can we be like God and our True Parents? We don’t have much expectation(?). When we truly give, serve, attend, invest and sacrifice, then the results automatically appear according to universal law.

I love the concept of true love. What do you think?

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Human Fall 24: The Primary Characteristics of

the Fallen Nature

• The primary characteristics of the fallen nature can be divided broadly into four types:

1. The first is failing to take God's standpoint. A principal cause of the Archangel's fall was his failure to love Adam with the same heart and perspective as God; instead he felt jealous of Adam. This led him to tempt Eve.

2. The second is leaving one's proper position. Lucifer desired to enjoy the same position of love in the human world as he had in the angelic world. This unrighteous desire caused him to leave his position and fall.

3. The third is reversing dominion. The angel, who was supposed to come under the dominion of human beings, instead dominated Eve. Then Eve, who was supposed to come under the dominion of Adam, dominated him instead.

4. The fourth is multiplying the criminal act. The Archangel spread his sin to Eve, and Eve to Adam.

Let’s study Father’s word.

Have a Perfect Standard as Your Heavenly Father is Perfect

<60-47, 1972.8.6> When perfect parts are put together for a particular purpose, a perfect object is made. For example, to build a house, the doors and all the related components should be perfect. Only then can a house be completed. When we consider this, we realize we need to pursue perfection. Therefore, Jesus said, in Matthew 5:48, "Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect." The standard is that you too must reach the perfection of Heaven. You must without doubt pursue the values of an object partner who comes close to the Absolute. What is required is a  perfected object partner who stands unashamed in front of the Absolute. In order to achieve this, we need to analyze our daily  life. We must set aside our daily life and even our thinking. We must analyze our five senses and entire body. We must feel and  sense everything differently from how we did before.

Deny Yourself Absolutely

<60-048, 1972.8.6> When you assert yourself in front of fallen humankind, it can be inferred that you still have your fallen nature. From this point, you must completely break yourself down. If you cling  to the shape and elements of your fallen nature, you have more to do to reach total self-abnegation. Taking oneself apart completely means total self-denial. The true, original, ideal  hope of human beings cannot be attained by the self-assertive way of fallen people. This is the conclusion. This is why, as God pursues providential goals through religion, the path He   upholds is not that of self-assertion but the path of absolute   self-denial. Unless we set the standard starting with total  self-abnegation, there are no means for fallen human beings to fulfill the Absolute Being's principle of partnership

To make a car, all the parts that go into it must be perfect, and when they are fully combined with each other, it becomes a complete object. If even a single part is defective, the car cannot move. Every single part that goes into a car must be completely 100% perfect to make a complete car.

Likewise, our individual bodies become complete human beings when all the parts that make up our bodies become completely one as God's ideal. That is why the Bible says in Matthew 5:48, “Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.” The standard that God desires is 100% absoluteness.

Many Westerners do not like the word “Absoluteness.” I love it. One of the most beautiful words is “Absoluteness.” There is not even 1% fallen nature. 100% absoluteness resembles God. The standard that God desires is 100% absoluteness. That is why Jesus said, “Be perfect, therefore, as Heavenly Father is perfect.” If there is even something small that is wrong, then the car will not move. It is the same for us.

Therefore, the perfect human being that God wants is a 100% perfect product that is not ashamed of being an object before the Absolute. Then, fallen people must thoroughly analyze 100% of where they went wrong. And we have to go through all the wrong parts and make them right.

We must analyze our five senses and entire body. In other words, unless we become a 100% perfect product, we cannot be restored as an original human being.

We must clear (from) ourself 100% of the fallen nature and become completely one with God. There, not even 1% of anything wrong or centered on Satan can be allowed. Absolute standards must be set.

For fallen human beings, if a positive factor of their fallen nature remains, it is concluded that they cannot become an object before God. Therefore, we must deny ourself completely. We have to deny ourself 100%.

Therefore, the course of faith that God upholds is not that of self-assertion but the path of absolute self-denial. Unless we set the standard  starting with total  self-denial, there are no means for fallen human beings to fulfill the Absolute Being's principle of partnership.

100%. God does not allow 0.1% evil nature because God is an absolute God. He does not allow any small thing. Absolute! Absolute goodness! Absolute beauty! That is God. We need to reach that kind of standard. Of course, that is not simple. But God created us in such a way: because he is an absolute being, human beings should be absolute beings like God. Even though we are challenged, we need to set up our goal as absoluteness. We cannot allow even 0.1% of fallen nature. We will completely resemble God, right?

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: The Difference Between Someone With Good Faith and Someone Without

1. How can you tell the difference between someone who has good faith and someone who doesn't? This can be easily seen by looking at whether or not the person has a heart of attendance. Those who long for and yearn for True Parents are those who have a vertical mindset. What determines whether that person is horizontal or vertical? We judge based on the standards of the person's attendance. Listening to what that person says will tell you whether or not that person is a source of concern to their parents. Also, those who always attend God will soon know whether or not the other person is someone who attends God.

The heart of attendance comes out when you view vertical relationships as life. If you have a heart to attend vertically, you will know how to distinguish horizontal people. A heart that longs for God and longs for parents is like light. There are no shadows there. If you look around with the mind of worshiping vertically, you will immediately know where it is dark and where there is a shadow. The conscience always stands vertically. So, those who have a good conscience have no shadows. Our conscience does not put itself first, but thinks of the vertical Heaven first.

Very clear guidance!

The vertical standard in our life of faith is the standard of attendance. Attendance always comes from the vertical heart. Therefore, the distinction between a person who has good faith and someone who does not can be easily recognized by looking at whether or not the person has a heart to serve and attend. Do we always have a heart of attendance? Do we have a heart of attendance toward God or any person or everything? If so, we are a person of good faith.

Those who do not have attendance become very horizontal. Even though we talk very well and give a good sermon or lecture, if we do not have the heart of attendance towards God, towards our Abel, then we have no faith, not good faith.

And those who attend vertically are not just formally courteous, but they have a heart that longs for God and True Parents inside them. Attending without longing is not attending. Giving without longing is hypocrisy. It's not a true offering.

Therefore, the distinction whether a person is horizontal or vertical is judged based on the person's standards of attendance and longing.

Our Miilhan, our Naokimi, they have a vertical or a horizontal person? How can they know? How much  of a heart of attendance do they have? If they have a heart of attendance toward God, toward True Parents, toward one’s Abel, toward the people, then he has good faith. This is very important.

If we look at what that person says or does, we can quickly tell whether or not that person is a filial child or a person who worries their parents.

The heart of service comes out when we treat the vertical relationships as life. Therefore, we must regard the vertical relationship with God, True Parents, and Abel as life. If we have a heart to serve vertically, we will know how to discern people who are horizontal.

A heart that longs for God and longs for parents is like light.

When we talk about attendance, even though we externally bow down and greet (a person), if we do not have longing, that is not attendance. That is why Father said, “You are a hypocrite!” Externally we may respect and attend someone, but (if) there is no longing heart, no respect, that means we do not have good faith. It is just external faith. That is why we say that a heart that longs for God and for parents is like a light.

There are no shadows there. And that person's conscience always stands vertically. If we look around with the mind of worshiping vertically, we will immediately know where it is dark and where there is a shadow.

Why can't we understand the other person's heart? Why do we not know the hearts of our children, do not know the hearts of our parents, and do not know the circumstances of others? It is because we are living a life without a heart to attend Heaven vertically.

Attendance centering on filial piety.

We need to love our Abel, our father and mother, our junior and our spouse. We should not think in a horizontal way, (but a) vertical way with a longing heart. That is the real meaning of attendance, right?

There are no Shadows In a Place Where Parents and Children Become One

2. Children have no shadow if they discuss everything with their parents. When a mother and her child become one, they are “a mother is the child, and the child is the mother.” When a child is affectionate with their mother, there are no shadows in that child's heart. There are some things students should be aware of. When your children come home from school, most of them open the refrigerator door on their own, right? If the child is a student who respects and serves the mother, they will say “Mom! I want to eat ice cream, can I eat it?” and ask for permission from the mother. And if the student thinks of their mother first, how would the mother feel when instead of eating it first, they say “Mom, try it first” after taking out the ice cream? If your child is a student who, as soon as they gets home, opens the refrigerator door without asking his mother and eats ice cream, this child is usually very capable of doing everything on their own. If you discuss and act on even the smallest things with your mother, you will become very close to her heartistically. “Mom, it is a hot day and I want to eat ice cream. Do you have any ice cream?” When asked, the mother will be delighted and say, “Yes! I knew you  would say that, so I bought some and put it in the firdge.” When two people are happy with each other in this way, that is the light.

When we deny self vertically and become one, the shadow disappears. Therefore, if children discuss everything with their parents in the family, there is no shadow because the mother and child are united.

When the subject and the object do not become one, a shadow is formed there. The life settling at noon has no shadows because the subject and “I” are completely one. Children always have to discuss with their mothers and live with their permission, even if it is (an) extremely small (matter).

Children should not just open the refrigerator door after returning from school and eat whatever they want without their mother's permission. The fall is always self-centered and acting in their own self interest. If we discuss and act on even the smallest things with our mother, we will become very close to her heartistically.

Discussing and asking each other and receiving each other's permission is in order to become one in heart.

“You need to report!” Not just by duty and responsibility. Why do you need to report? Why do we need to call? Why do we need to let them know? Because we want to become one heartisctically.

And for each other to live a life without a shadow.

The Woman is in God's Position in the Family

3. We gave an example about children opening the refrigerator door on their own when they get home from school. Most children do everything carelessly because their parents have not properly educated their children. Children should always be educated to act under the direction of their parents. Subjectivity is not the purpose of controlling the object. It is to establish a good heartistic relationship between the subject and the object. The world of attendance can never act centered on oneself. As we often see on Korean TV, many men ask their wives when they come home, “What have you been doing at home all day? Take my clothes and hang them up’ and then you will see him untie his tie and hand it to his wife. Many men mistakenly think that a woman is there for them. Such a family cannot achieve harmony between husband and wife. A woman did not marry to be a slave to her husband. A woman is God's position in the family.

I think many women appreciate this. How much I am promoting women’s value, right?

Most children do everything carelessly because their parents have not educated their children properly. And it's because the parents usually act on their own.

Children should always be educated to act under the direction of their parents. We have to throw away the mind of controlling the other person. First, we must have a heart to serve. In this way, a good heartistic relationship can be established between the subject and the object partner.

The world of attendance can never act centered on oneself. Even among married couples, many men mistakenly think that a woman is there for them and treat their wives like servants. Such a family cannot achieve harmony between husband and wife. A woman does not exist to be a slave to her husband.

A woman is God's position in the family. Rather, husbands should take good care of their wives. Only then can peace be achieved in the family.

Today I spoke about the difference between a person of with good faith and a person without.

(Testimony Rebecca Calix and Christopher Portelance, Finding My True North, The Matching Experience)♦

(Response to sharing) In order to (cultivate) a longing heart, one of the best ways is to witness. How much of a yearning heart do we have for our guests? When we take care of our children and also guests and of our spiritual children, this is one of the ways to reach God’s heart, his longing heart. Without witnessing there is no way to cultivate our longing heart. How much Heavenly Father is searching for his lost children! It is the same thing.♦
