Key Points

We should always be sincere and honest with ourselves, have continual give and take with God, grow and bear fruits of love and fulfill our responsibilities in time in order to avoid hypocrisy and lying to save face, leaving regrets behind and prolonging our providence.
To overcome failures, recognize that anyone can fail, avoid excuses, courageously confess and reveal your mistakes and defects and accept possible disgrace. Otherwise you deceive yourself, risk future exposure and suffer loss.
The person we need by our side should be sincere, honest, and willing not only to praise us but to rebuke us for mistakes and speak to us honestly.

Today I’d like to talk about “The 21st Century and Let Us Become the Living Embodiment of the True Family Ideal” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.
<This speech was given at the 3rd International Convention of the Women's Federation for World Peace held on November 17, 1997 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC.> Honored guests, distinguished women leaders, representatives and members of the Women's Federation for World Peace International. I want to welcome our worldwide delegates to the Women's Federation for World Peace Third International Convention. Thank you for coming. Since our last convention held in 1995, WFWP International has moved light years ahead, expanding to over 140 nations with nearly 100,000 members worldwide. We have touched the lives of women in nearly every country—from providing AIDS education in Malawi to building bridges of peace between England and Northern Ireland. I am proud to announce that, despite our short history, WFWP International was accepted this summer into the community of Non-Governmental Organizations that surrounds and supports the United Nations in its efforts to bring peace between nations. Moreover, the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations granted us the highest honor of General Consultative Status. The theme of our Third International Convention is Women of the New Millennium: Loving and Serving the World.
There are so many places in the world that need our love and helping hand. Not only material and external needs but, more importantly, psychological and spiritual needs are in an urgent and serious state. Parents, teachers and national leaders are important to all of us. These are people everyone undeniably needs. When compared to the true standard, there are many different standards of parents. What do you think? To what extent have you yourselves become true parents? If somebody is a professor at an Ivy League university such as Harvard, Yale or Columbia in the United States, or at Oxford or Cambridge in England, does this alone qualify that person to be called a true teacher? Similarly, there are different standards of national leadership which do not meet the true standard of leadership. If someone is the president of a superpower, such as the United States, does this automatically mean he or she is a true president? When I say you should become a true parent, a true teacher, or a true leader, what do you think is the highest standard or central model for these three positions? That standard is God.
Parents, teachers and national leaders are important to all of us. These are people everyone undeniably needs. When compared to the true standard, there are many different standards of parents.
When we say people should become a true parent, a true teacher, or a true leader, what do you think is the highest standard or central model for these three positions? That standard is God and our True Parents.
The true parent, true teacher, and true owner that True Parents talk about is the three great subject partners principle that will save the world.
Then what is this three great subject partners principle that True Parents talk about?
Let me explain a little bit.
The Three Great Subject Partners Principle
This is the main thought that True Parents teach us.
1. True Parent
> Champions of love and heart
> Models of True Families/4 Realms of Heart
The True Parent Principle is the principle of giving unconditionally, giving first and giving and giving and completely forgetting how much one has given but keeping on trying to give again and again. This kind of unconditional giving is the legacy of True Parents.
Secondly, it is the principle of sacrificing unconditionally, sacrificing again and again and forgetting completely what one has sacrificed. Unconditional sacrifice is one of the main principles of True Parents.
Third, it is the principle of investing again and again, forgetting completely what one has invested and wanting to invest more, investing 100%, 120% of all one has got until the other person becomes better than oneself.
Wow! Nobody teaches this way. This is the thought of the True Parents: unconditional giving, unconditional sacrificing, unconditional investing 100%, 120% until the object partner is better than oneself. (With) this kind of thought and principle and parental heart, how much can we change ourself, our society, nation and world?
The second thought is:
2. True Teacher
> Plant vision and hope
> Love Heaven, Nation, Humankind - tears
The true teacher principle is the principle that teaches the true truth. It does not just sell knowledge. The true teacher principle is the principle that teaches what good and evil is and what the purpose of life is.
It is also the principle that clearly teaches the principles of the universe, including God’s existence. It is also the principle that guides us to always live according to the conscience. The conscience is a great teacher, parent, and owner. The true teacher principle is a principle about continuously investing until one’s pupil is better than oneself.
The third thought is:
True Owner
Teach the spirit of owner, not the mentality of slave – who is the owner?
The true owner principle is a principle that teaches about responsibility for nation and people and instills the spirit of ownership. The principle of true ownership is the patriotic principle that teaches how to love the nation and people and the world, and fully take responsibility for them, and protect them. The principle of true owners teaches about Heaven’s laws and rules. And it also teaches about what the public mind and private mind are. It also teaches how to manage money and earn money. Furthermore, it teaches people to be loyal to the nation and people.
If we really understand the Three Great Subject Partners Principle, this is the way to unite our mind and body, to make unity in our nation and (among) our people. Incredible. (This is) not Kim Il Sung’s Three Subjects Juche Ideology. It is heaven’s main ideology centered on the Three Great Subject Partners Principle. Wow! This is one of the main thoughts.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Human Fall 7
The Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil(1)
• The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil signifies the love of Eve.
• As a tree multiplies by its fruit, Eve should have borne good children through her godly love. Instead, she bore evil children through her satanic love.
• Eve was to reach full maturity only after going through a period of growth, in which it was possible for her to bear either good fruit or evil fruit through her love.
• This is why Eve's love is symbolized by the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and why Eve is symbolized by the tree.
• Eve was to have eaten the fruit of goodness by consummating her God-centered love. Then she would have received the essence of God's divinity and multiplied a good lineage.
• However, she ate of the fruit of evil by consummating her evil love centered on Satan. Hence, she received the essence of his evil nature and multiplied an evil lineage from which our sinful society descended.
• Accordingly, Eve's eating the fruit denotes that she consummated a satanic love relationship with the angel which bound her in blood ties to him.
Let’s study Father’s word.
The Human Fall Betrayed God’s Heart (Shim Jeong)
<9-112>We are the fallen descendants who betrayed God’s heart. People, do you know what our ancestors betrayed? Do you simply think that they only picked up the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil prohibited to be eaten? Not at all. It betrayed the Heart of God. The problem lies here. So what kind of heart was betrayed? The heart of the ideal of creation and the heart of hope were betrayed. Everybody, what do you think is the purpose of receiving grace? Once you get more grace, the better experience of God’s heart comes to you. In other words, without learning the Bible, you are able to explain it with your heart. Seeing this, the purpose of receiving grace is to realize God’s heart.
We are the fallen descendants who betrayed God’s heart. Then what did Adam and Eve betray? Rather than the resultant problem of simply eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, before that, Adam and Eve betrayed God’s heart.
So what kind of heart of God did Adam and Eve betray? The heart of the ideal of creation and the heart of hope were betrayed. And God’s love that invested for them all this time was betrayed.
What do you think is the purpose of receiving grace? True Father said that the more you receive grace and the more you enter that grace, the better you experience God’s heart.
Father said, “Do you all know how amazing the world of heart is? Even if you did not study the Bible, if you reach God’s heart, you are able to realize everything with your heart without the need for any explanation.” That is the world of heart.
What is the Fall? It is betraying God’s heart and love. It is not just eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but it was betraying God’s heart. Adam and Eve betrayed God’s heart which invested 100%, 120% (of) His whole energy and love to create them.
How much God invested! He invested 100%, 120%. He invested his heart and mind ... and created Adam and Eve, but they betrayed his heart. How much God was (hurt)! “How come you loved the archangel more than me? Do you know how much I invested (in you)? Do you know how much I put in my heart and love and jeongseong to create you? How come you betrayed me? In just one second, one moment you had give and take with the archangel and you really didn’t care about my heart and love.”
Even in the secular world, the biggest shock between parent and child is the betrayal of the heart. Therefore, the sin of all sins is betrayal of the heart.
Parents are hurt so much when the children leave home. Why are the parents hurt by the children? Because (the children) do not know how much (their) parents love them. In ten or 20 years when they are getting older and have their own children, they start to realize, “How much my mom loved me. How much my daddy loved me,” but it is already too late.
(That is) like me. I did not deeply appreciate my parents’ love. After I got a little older, 40 and 50, I began to realize – now I am 65 and going to be 66 soon – how much my parents loved me! If I had realized this earlier, how much better a person I would have become. After I spent so much time, I have such regret and after all kinds of experience I started to realize how much God loves me, how much my father and mother invested in me. Now I realize, but it is already too late. Oh my God! For human beings it takes a long time to realize how much my parents love me, how much Heavenly Father loves me. It is not easy to change for fallen man, for me. I confess to you.
First the Words Were Violated by the Human Fall
<20-106> What is the Human Fall and what was violated by the Human Fall? The words were violated. Satan seduced humankind in the Garden of Eden saying ‘Hey! It would be very nice to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God is anxious that you might open your eyes and become like Him, that’s why He told you not to do so.’ Indeed, this makes sense. There is nothing to worry about if they eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and open their eyes. Therefore, the words were violated. Once the words are violated then the body is violated. It was not only eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil but the body was also violated and the substance was violated. It was not violated by good but by evil.
This is some of Father’s deepest guidance.
First the words were violated by the Human Fall. Adam and Eve were violated by Satan’s words and dominated by him. Adam and Eve were completely convinced by Satan’s words.
If you were violated by Satan’s words in this way, next, your body will be violated by Satan. That is why Adam and Eve were first violated by Satan’s words and then their bodies were taken by Satan.
Then, through the lesson from the fall of Adam and Eve, what must we do to block Satan’s invasion? It is by knowing the order in which Satan violated Adam and Eve and having a countermeasure.
Satan first enters through thoughts. Satan always enters through our thinking. So, when Satan enters through our thoughts, we need to discern them well. We need to distinguish whether these are Satan’s thoughts or God’s thoughts.
In other words, we need to distinguish whether they are the thoughts of the spirit or of the flesh. If my thoughts are violated and then dominated by Satan, my body will also be violated.
Therefore, before overcoming the physical fall, the spiritual fall comes first all the time. Then, in order to prevent the spiritual fall, I need to discern my thoughts very well. I need to discern whether my thoughts are the body’s thoughts or spirit’s thoughts.
If you are defeated in the fight against Satan’s thoughts, you will lose in the spiritual fight, and in the end, Satan will conquer my entire body and my physical body is handed over Satan.
At first, my thoughts are conquered by Satan’s words, and next, my body is conquered. Even the human fall first begins with being dominated by Satan’s words, and next, the hands are given away, and after that, Satan seduces me, then I hand over my mouth, chest, and finally, the sexual organs.
Therefore, to prevent the Fall, first, I need to refuse Satan’s words from my thoughts. How do we refuse them? We need to become substances of the word through a life of always hearing the Word, meditating, and offering prayer and jeongseong. And from Abel, we also need to train ourselves to completely deny ourselves.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Always Be Honest and Sincere with Yourself.
1. In the world of the law of love, if you do not properly fulfill your responsibilities in the relationships with the people around you within the given time, you will have no joy and will be pushed out. Fallen human beings try to fill the void by making excuses and lying if they do not fulfill their responsibilities within the given time. However, it is easy to see that our life becomes a hypocrisy, a formality, and we become people with a lot of empty voids. That is why we should always be sincere and honest with ourselves in our lives more than anyone else. You shouldn't be a person who works because of someone or to protect your dignity. So don't waste your time, be sincere, and spend your time wisely. Anyone can fail at work. In that case, you should not try to make excuses to avoid failure. You shouldn't even be hypocritical. If you fail at something, you must honestly confess. Such a person has true courage.
According to the law of nature, all plants give and receive with sunlight and grow each moment without any voids. There is not even one second of a void in time. In the growth of plants, if there is even a little bit of a void, they immediately die.
It is the same with people. According to the laws of the universe, we, too, need to give and receive vertically with God each moment, fulfill our responsibilities in our given time, grow, and bear fruits of love.
However, if someone is not sincere in their given responsibilities or shows off or has empty voids and make mistakes, they will end up being pushed back, there will be no joy but (they will) leave regrets behind, and that person’s providence will be prolonged.
If fallen people do not fulfill their responsibilities in their given time, they will even make excuses or lie to fill that void and save face.
When that happens, it is easy to see that our life becomes a hypocrisy, a formality, and we become people with a lot of empty voids.
That is why we should always be sincere and honest with ourselves in our lives more than anyone else. You shouldn't be a person who works because of someone (else) or to protect your dignity.
Expose Your Mistakes or Shortcomings
2) If you make a mistake or fail, you must be prepared to be embarrassed and expose your mistakes or shortcomings. Such a person is promising. Those who fail and do not want to be disgraced get blocked on their path. You must expose your shortcomings. If you hide your mistakes or faults, you will be pitiful. What are you hiding with that lie and what are you going to use it for? What will you do if you temporarily deceive someone? You must know that to deceive others is to deceive yourself first. It is not deceiving other people. If you deceive others, you will end up becoming pitiful. You should know that if you deceive others, you will suffer a loss. Some people are born into very poor families, yet they boast that they are children of wealthy families. Then, when the person becomes financially destitute, he borrows money from people around him and does not repay it. This is the way many people live. Even though it is quickly revealed that he is poor, he continues to bluff.
Let’s summarize (how we deal with failures).
How Do You Overcome Your Failures?
1. You must recognize on your own that anyone can fail.
2. To (avoid) your failures, do not make excuses or be hypocritical.
3. Honestly confess to your Abel. Such a person genuinely has courage.
4. Prepare yourself to be disgraced and reveal your mistakes and defects.
> The path is blocked for people who dislike being disgraced by their failures.
> If you hide your mistakes or shortcomings, you become pitiful. You may be able to deceive others temporarily, but you will be exposed at some point.
> If you deceive others, you get deceived and become pitiful in the end.
> If you deceive others, you ultimately suffer a loss.
People Grow When They are Honest and Righteous
3) There are many false people in the secular world, so when someone tells a lie, they know right away. Some people say, “To be honest...” Those who keep saying this are admitting that they are always liars. Honest people just talk. There are many business people who lie that are running business that suffer total losses. So, we have to choose people well. Who is truly living for my sake? Who can honestly rebuke me when I make a mistake? People who praise or respect me only outwardly will run away when the situation becomes unfavorable. You need to have someone close to you who can be honest with you. We try to hide our shortcomings when someone who speaks honestly appears. A person grows when he is honest and righteous.
What Kind of Person do I Need to Put by my Side?
1. Look at their sincerity.
Are they really sincere or not?
2. See if that person is honest or not.
3. Check who is truly living for my sake.
> Check if they are someone who honestly rebukes me when I make a mistake.
> People who praise or respect me only outwardly will run away when the situation becomes unfavorable.
4. Put people that speak to me honestly close to me.
❖ People gradually grow when they are honest and righteous.
Today we learned again (from some) very important guidance. We are learning so many things from True Parents! The important thing is how we can (put them into) practice.
Even though I share God’s word, I always feel conscience stricken. True Parents word is right and correct. Even though I am delivering it on behalf of God and True Parents, I often reflect that I did not reach that level. I need to repent that I (am not yet) at True Parents’ standard. We are struggling every day, right? How to become a better person. Again, today we need to appreciate God and True Parents.

More than the mere fact that Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and fell, (their) driving a big nail into God’s heart by betraying God’s heart and love was the bigger problem. Adam and Eve eternally hurt God’s heart. This is betrayal of the heart.
