Key Points

  • The Completed Testament Age is not just an age of obedience and faith, but of serving and attending God and living together with Him 24 hours a day.

  • We must serve Him not only in our body and mind, but also with our families centering on the Four Great Realms of Heart and the Three Great Kingships.

  • Love your neighbor as yourself means to love your spouse as your first and closest neighbor, then brothers and sisters and Cain and Abel.

  • If you serve with a filial heart, filial piety, you will surely receive Heaven’s teaching, God will directly intervene with you.

  • My job is to take care of God’s wishes, his will, his problems, his agony, his han. God’s job is to take care of me: what to eat, what to drink, what to wear and my family issues.

  • Fallen people these days commit the sin of love although they all know they will die. They do not value their sexual organs and disregard fornication.

  • One-third of Korean Christian clergy have reportedly committed fornication. More than 50% of U.S. Christian ministers are divorced.

  • The problem with the fallen human mind is that it always changes easily and is easily dominated by the environment.

  • We must live our lives with the holy heart we offered to Heaven when we worshiped and avoid being dominated by our old habits in the secular world.

  • We can establish the subjectivity of love only when we treat the object with the heart that longs for Heaven.

  • A person who has a heart of reverence for God and practices unchangingly for anyone is called a righteous person.

  • A person of original nature belongs to God and belongs in the Four Position Foundation. He can never commit a crime.

  • The resurrection of faith means realizing this.

  • The perfection of faith means that we treat all objects, including my individual self, as works of God and treat all people, including my family and myself, as God.

  • In this way, we gradually develop the world of our hearts.

  • The first step in faith is to regard yourself as God’s. Then regard small creatures and other people as God’s. Come to embrace your family and tribe, the nation, the world and humankind and the universe. The final stage is to embrace and love God.

Today I’d like to talk about “God, Women and World Peace” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 2.

<This was an invitational address delivered on September 7, 1993 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York> Ladies and gentlemen, at the dawn of the Completed Testament Age, the time has come for each family to take up the messianic mission of completing the work of salvation throughout the world. After restoring your family, the next step is to restore your tribe, nation and the world. This is the mission of the tribal messiah. In the Completed Testament Age, the mother's role will be crucial. She has to unite her children and her husband, and link her family with the True Parents. Already we have sent thousands of tribal messiah missionaries around the world. Soon the original ideal of the family will be achieved worldwide. As the world enters the Completed Testament Age, we will live with God again. Realizing this, we have to accomplish the unity of mind and body, husband and wife and parent and children. We can then establish ideal families, based on God's love.

With such families, the symptoms of our decaying society will vanish. As confident children of God, we no longer will be enslaved by the temptations of alcohol and drug abuse. Moreover, by understanding the holiness of love between husband and wife, we will possess the moral strength to stand strong against infidelity and promiscuity. Finally, we will work as a whole to eliminate war, racial and religious prejudice and world hunger. Based on this foundation, we can realize a world of true happiness, freedom and peace. In such a world there will be heartfelt compassion for the needs of others, and the nations of the world naturally will cooperate to preserve peace and justice. A situation such as the tragedy we are witnessing in Bosnia today would evoke a resolute and united determination among the world's nations to provide both effective material relief and a swift peaceful solution.

Therefore, understanding that this is God's vision for humanity, let us join together; all nations as one, under God, to bring peace and reconciliation to every corner of the world afflicted with suffering and conflict. Honored guests, ladies and gentlemen, it is my hope that people of all faiths and nationalities gathered here this afternoon will understand this message with a deep heart and an open mind. I sincerely pray that by upholding the Will of God, we all can reach the place of God's blessing. May God bless you, your families and your nations. Thank you very much.

As the world enters the Completed Testament Age, we will live with God again. Realizing this, we have to accomplish the unity of mind and body, husband and wife and parent and children. We can then establish ideal families, based on God's love, True Mother said.

The Completed Testament Age is the age of serving and attending. It is not just an age of obedience and faith. The Completed Testament Age is the age of serving and attending God and living together with Him 24 hours a day. God is no longer a conceptual God, a God of law, or a God of faith.

Based on that:

We Need all Three

1. The Old Testament Age based on deeds (Servant)

During the old testament age, you received salvation through a life of deeds. In the Old Testament Era God was worshiped at the level of Servant.

2. The New Testament Age based on faith (Adopted son)

During the new testament age, you received salvation through a life of faith. In the New Testament Era age, we served God at the adoption level.

3. The Completed Testament Age based on attendance (Real son)

During the completed testament age, you receive salvation through a life of attendance. In the Completed Testament Era we must attend God at the level of a true child.

Today I would like to talk about “attendance.” Even though the Bible does not directly speak about it, we can learn from the Bible what attendance, what serving God is.

Matthew 22: 36-39 - “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

The greatest commandment in our life is to love and serve God with all our heart, all our soul, and all our mind, as mentioned in the Bible.

As we live with God 24 hours a day, we must serve Him not only in our body and mind, but also with our families. The age of serving God in the family centering on the Four Great Realms of Heart and the Three Great Kingships is the Completed Testament Age.

It is based on family. Many people do not know about this point.

The second commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. This means to treat your neighbor like God and live together with them. So who is my neighbor? People have different understandings of this. My neighbor starts with the person closest to me. My first neighbor is my spouse. Next is my brothers and sisters, my Cain and Abel.

You need to understand that your neighbor is the closest person. Your spouse is your neighbor. You need to love and serve your spouse like God. When we practice this Bible verse, we can understand the true meaning of attendance.

Let’s study Father’s word about attendance a little more.

You Would Attend God As Your way of Life and Heart

You should live a life of attendance and encourage each other to be strong in doing so. Up to now you received salvation through a life of faith, but from now on you will find salvation through attendance. If humankind had not fallen at the outset, you would attend God as your way of life and heart. Attending God is something you do with your whole heart in your daily life. Wherever you go, you should always feel that your father is in front of you and your mother is behind you, and that Heaven is with you at every moment, to your right and left, above you and below you.(150-294, 1961 04 15)

The Old Testament Age is the age of God-centered actions, the New Testament Age is the age of faith, and the Completed Testament Age is the age of attendance.

When you are a young child, you return joy to your parents by putting very small actions and deeds into practice one by one in response to your parents' orders. As children grow older, they give their parents faith. However, when they are fully mature, they return joy to their parents through filial piety.

From that point of view, in what age do my actions and heart come from? Am I in the Old Testament Age? Am I in the New Testament Age? Or do you know God's circumstances and heart and serve Him with filial piety?

How should we serve God? You must serve with a filial heart, filial piety. It's not about serving as a servant. It's not about serving with an adopted son’s heart. It is about serving with filial heart.

The God of the Completed Testament Age is no longer a conceptual God. We must live life together with Him and attend Him and always communicate with him. That is attendance.

If you set the Standard of Filial Heart and Attendance Recognized by Heaven, you are Bound to Receive Heaven’s Teaching

When you, as Unification Church members, carry out your mission, your public responsibility in the church, you may run into difficulties that you cannot resolve on your own. When this happens, you should purify your mind, cleanse your body with a bath, and pray sincerely to Heaven. When you pray, ask God for His guidance, and He will show you the way to go. If He does not, it is only because your heart does not reach the standard of God’s heart; if it does, He will surely answer you. If you entrust everything to God and rely on Him when you face difficulties, keeping a prayerful and filial heart, God will guide you in the right direction through your intuition. (150-294, 1961 04 15)

If you serve with a filial heart, filial piety, you will surely receive Heaven’s teaching. Where there is filial heart, filial piety, God directly intervenes. Because God is in the direct dominion, we always receive revelations and teachings from Heaven.

If our actions are conditional, formal, habitual, and obligatory, we will not receive revelations.

Filial heart is the key point. As long as I have that kind of filial heart toward God, God will intervene in my life.

(Again,) if you entrust everything to God and rely on Him – what to eat, what to drink, what to wear, my family issues – really I need to rely on God. Then what is my job and my responsibility? How I can worry about His burden and his will, his wishes, his heart. That is my job as a filial son. A filial son always worries about (his) parents’ wishes, worries and will. Then what to eat, what to drink, what to wear, whenever I face difficulties, just rely on God. That is God’s job to take care of me. My job is to take care of his wishes, his will, his problems, his agony, his han. As long as we have that kind of filial heart and mind, God will surely intervene with me. As long as we have that kind of concept of filial piety, this is the way to receive revelations and guidance from heaven.

LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: The Fall - 6.

About Adultery

The Fall of the Angel and the Fall of Human Beings

1. The Crime of the Angel

• Let us investigate what kind of sin the angel and the human beings committed.

Jude 1: 6-7 - "And the angels that did not keep their own position but left their proper dwelling have been kept by him in eternal chains in the nether gloom until the judgment of the great day; just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise acted immorally (fornication, King James Version) and indulged in unnatural lust, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire."

From this passage we can infer that the angel fell as a result of an illicit sexual relationship.

The Crime of the Angel(s)

1. The angels did not keep their own position but left their proper dwelling. The angels were like that.

> They did not stand in the position of God and Abel, but always stayed away from the position of God and the Principle. The angels were like that.

2. They have been kept in eternal chains in the nether gloom all the time.

> Once they fell, they are to be kept in eternal chains of evil. There is no way to be saved without the Messiah.

3. The angels commit adultery all the time.

> They think about adultery all the time and become a slave of it

4. They indulged unnatural lust

> They admire those who commit adultery and search for that information on the internet.

5. The angels will be punished by eternal fire.

> They will be punished. That’s why they must listen to the words from the Messiah and liquidate their original sin through the words.

• We read in Genesis 2:25 that before they fell, Adam and Eve were both naked, and were not ashamed.

• After the Fall, however, they felt ashamed of their nakedness and sewed fig leaves into aprons to cover their lower parts.

• It is human nature to conceal one's faults. Thus, the act of covering their lower parts shows that these parts, and not their mouths, were the source of their shame.

• Adam and Eve's sexual parts were the instrument of their sinful deeds.

• In Job 31:33-34, it is written, "If I have concealed my transgressions like Adam, by hiding my iniquity in my bosom.”

• Adam concealed his lower parts after the Fall.

• This indicates that Adam and Eve's sexual parts were the source of their shame and the instrument of heir sinful deed.

• In the world before the human Fall, the only act one would be willing to carry out even at the clear risk of one's life is the act of love.

• God's purpose of creation, described in the blessings "Be fruitful and multiply," can be achieved only through love, accordingly, from the viewpoint of God's purpose of creation, love should be the most precious and sacred act.

• But it is often regarded with shame and even contempt because the sexual act was the very cause of the Fall.

1. There is no other thing (?cause of falling?) than love even though all people apparently know they will surely die from it.

> Fallen people these days commit the sin of love although they all know they will die.

> They commit the sin of love although they know the Divine Principle and (that) it is frightful.

2. The three big issues of humankind upon love

 a. Just commit a sin knowing that they will die.

( despite knowing the Divine Principle).

This is the power of Satan, evil power, evil love. How amazing it is!

 b. Don’t realize that (the sexual organ) is the most precious and divine place.

 c. Disregard the act. (Although all the people disregard it, they all have the problem of fornication, especially most of religious leaders.)

Yesterday I received some news. One minister reported that one third of Korean Christian ministers have fallen immorally. Wow! Even the spiritual leadership is like that.

How about America? I do not know much clear data, but someone said, “More than 50% of Christian ministers are divorced.” As a spiritual leader if they don’t know how to handle their own issues, how can they manage their own congregation? Now in America, Korea, Japan and everywhere there is a spiritual leadership problem. There is a lack of spiritual leadership everywhere.

Everybody follows the secular world. Everybody knows, “If I eat the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, I will surely die.” They know (this). However, they commit sin again and again. Wow! This is really evil power!

TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: What is the Conclusion of Treating Myself as God’s?

Establish the Subjectivity of Love

1. If I have a heart to honor God, I must treat my children with the same heart that honors God. Believers must know how to live a good life of heart. People fail because they do not manage their heart properly in their personal lives. When we attend service, we all have a holy heart, that is, a heart of original nature. You should always have the heart of original nature and control yourself well. We can establish the subjectivity of love only when we treat the other person with a heart of longing for heaven. Subjectivity of love means first becoming someone God can have dominion over. And by loving the other person with God’s love just as God loves me, I can create a relationship of oneness with God where I can say, “I am you and you are me.”

The problem with the fallen human mind is that it always changes easily and is easily dominated by the environment. If they had a heart to honor God, they would treat their own children and anyone else with a heart of respect for God, but they can’t.

Where do most believers go wrong? Problems arise for anyone when they are not good at managing their minds. They don’t know how to manage their minds and hearts. This is the issue. Your mind belongs to you. You need to know how to manage your own mind. Many (people), even though they are believers and know the Principle, do not know how to manage their own mind’s issues, own heart’s issues, own body’s issues. This is the problem. They are completely out of order.

We must live our lives with the holy heart we offered to Heaven when we worshiped and the heart of respect toward Heaven. We attend worship and listen to God’s word; (we pray,) “Oh my dear God, respectful God....” We honor God a lot. But when we return to our regular environment, we live centered on our habits and fallen natures. We repeat (them) again and again, (always) the same thing.

Many believers cannot maintain their hearts (after) they pray and offer jeongseong; when they return to real life, they become completely different people. Even if we go out into the world, we have to keep the holy spirit of worship, but we get angry like secular people, and complaints pour out of our mouths in a dissatisfying environment.

We can establish the subjectivity of love only when we treat the object with the heart that longs for Heaven. And by loving the other person with God’s love just as God loves me, we can create a relationship of oneness with the object and become closer in heart.

A person who has a heart of reverence for God and practices unchangingly for anyone is called a righteous person

A Life of Original Nature is Knowing with Certainty Where One Is

2. If I do not forget my position of knowing who I am, I will become a person of original nature. If I do not forget who I am, I can always make Heaven happy. Anyone who knows that they belong to God does not sin. To be a person of original nature is to know that I belong to God and that I am His child. If you abandon this relationship, you are a sinner. Therefore, the resurrection of faith means that after realizing that we belong to God, we continue to grow ourselves as God's. So, True Father regarded himself as absolute as God. The perfection of faith means that we treat all objects, including my individual self, as works of God. It is a heart that sees even a single blade of grass as a work of God. This is a very precious heart, a holy heart.

Who am I? Where do I belong? First, we must know that the existence of me belongs to God. Second, we must not forget that I belong in the four position foundation.

Therefore, as a person who belongs in the four position foundation, if I make good relationships with my parents, children, and brothers and sisters, and treat each other like God in those relationships, then I will become a person of original nature.

If you (maintain) this relationship well, you will never commit a crime. It is a sin to turn away from God, leave the four position foundation and live your life centered on yourself.

To be a person of original nature, first of all, I must be well aware of the relationship that I belong to God and I am His child, and then I must give and receive well within the four position foundation. If you leave this relationship, you are a sinner.

Therefore, the resurrection of faith means realizing that I belong to God, knowing myself as God's in the four position foundation relationship and continuing to grow.

What is the Conclusion of Treating Myself as God’s?

3. It is a precious heart that feels the pain of stepping on grass because it means stepping on God’s living organisms. A person who lives like this does not make a mistake even in the smallest of things. Isn’t that right? That’s why in Buddhism, a fly cannot be killed, and even if a mosquito bites, they cannot kill it. If you have a heart to see everything as God's work and God's living beings, you won't feel like ignoring any of them, right? What is the conclusion of living a life of faith that considers and treats insignificant things as God's work? It is to treat my family like God. And it is to regard my country as God’s country. In this way, the world of my heart is gradually growing.

True Father regarded himself as absolute as God. The perfection of faith means that we treat all objects, including my individual self, as works of God.

It is a heart that sees even a single blade of grass as a work of God. This is a very precious heart, a holy heart. A person who lives like this does not make a mistake even in the smallest of things.

If you see everything as God's work and have the heart to see them as God's living beings, you will feel a heart to serve God no matter what you do.

What is the conclusion of living a life of faith that considers and treats insignificant things as God's work? It is to treat myself and my family like God

When this kind of heart grows, we will regard our country as God’s country and serve all people of the world as our own family and God’s children. In this way, we must gradually develop the world of our hearts

What is the Result of Treating Myself as God's?

4. The faith that regards myself as God's means that I come to regard even small creatures as God's, and with that heart, I gradually come to embrace my family and tribe, the nation, the world and humankind, the universe, and further on to embrace and love God. Like this, the faith that regards myself as God’s is growing and ripening. This is true faith. Why do secular people criticize believers as hypocrites? It is because they sing praise very well and pray well, but when they sit back and talk, they start criticizing and badmouthing others. It is because they do two different things with one mouth. In the church, people sing holy songs and then turn around and hate, slander, and blame others. The Bible calls those who speak two different words with one mouth a kind of viper. Didn’t Jesus call the people of Israel a brood of vipers? We are the same. In the church, people call God their Father, but when they go out into the world, they fool around like secular people, so Satan is our father.

The first step in faith is to regard yourself as God's. At the same time, you come to regard even small creatures and all the people you deal with as God's, and gradually, with that heart, come to embrace your family and tribe, the nation, the world and humankind, the universe, and further on to the stage of embracing and loving God

Why the secular world criticizes believers as hypocrites is because they do two things with one mouth. It is because they sing holy songs at church and then turn around and completely show their fallen natures.

The Bible calls those who speak two different words with one mouth a kind of viper. We are the same. In the church, people call God their Father, but when they go out into the world, they follow the secular world’s way of serving. As we are people who serve two masters and speak two words with one mouth, we become a brood of vipers and Satan becomes our father.

Recently I have been talking about Chapter Two and adultery. I repeat again, it is our fundamental faith: I belong to God, God belongs to me. Who am I? (I belong) in the Four Position Foundation. This is fundamental faith. I repeat these because they are the most important things.

Today I spoke about “What is the conclusion of treating myself as God’s.”
