Today I’d like to talk again about “Holy birth and family history ” from True Mother’s Anthology, Book 1
There are events in Korea's history that contribute to Korea being chosen as the nation where the Second Advent of the Messiah would occur. About 400 years ago there was a grandfather named Jo Hanjun in Jeongju. Mr. Jo lived in the village of Bucheon. At that time, Korea was under China's influence and every year, Korea had to make tribute payments to China. China's envoys would come in and out of Korea but there was always severe flooding on the Dallae River, which hindered the travel of the Chinese envoys. However, the Joseon government at that time did not have the money to resolve this so they were looking for a volunteer who would be able to build a bridge over that river for the sake of the nation. That is when Grandfather Jo Hanjun took it upon himself to build that bridge using his own personal money. It must not have been easy to build a stone bridge, but it is said that he built it big enough so that boats could even pass under it. After building the bridge, he only had a few brass coins left. There was only enough left to buy straw sandals. So he bought himself a pair of straw sandals.

Bucheon is not the name of a town. Bucheon means a very rich village; we call it a “rich village.” This Jo Hanjun came from this kind of rich village.
The following day was the dedication ceremony so he went to sleep and that night, he heard God's voice, “Hanjun, Hanjun! Your sincere devotion moved Heaven. Therefore, I wanted to send the son of Heaven to your family. However, because you used those three coins for yourself, I will send you the princess of Heaven instead.” He woke up from that dream and found that a stone statue of the Maitreya Buddha had suddenly appeared near the Dallae River. This statue was a miracle and all those who passed in front of it got off their horses to offer a bow before going along their way.
However, Mr. Jo's daughters ran into problems. They were single but their hips were thick and their bellies got big just like the stone Maitreya's belly. People mistakenly thought they were pregnant and they had difficulty finding husbands. Therefore, Mr. Jo's family came together to discuss the matter, “It is because of that Maitreya statue that our daughters are having a hard time finding husbands so let us cut off some of the Maitreya's belly off” and they did just that. When they did, it is said that the stone bled. When they did, it is said that the stone bled. So they repented and remade the belly just as it had been before.
However, due to the passing of time and weathering, a hole appeared and bees came in and out of it. Father said that he went to play at that Maitreya statue during his childhood. This is not a legend but a true story. I've heard that this Maitreya statue is still there.
I tell you this story to show you that if you offer sincere devotion and loyalty for the sake of Heaven, it will all be accepted by Heaven. My maternal grandmother, Jo Won-mo, my mother Hong Sun-ae (Daemonim) and I are the only daughters for three generations. Father once said that for a woman to become the mother of the universe, she had to come from a family that had only one daughter for three successive generations. This shows us how Heaven prepared the environment for this one time. Heaven created all things before he created Adam and Eve. He first created an environment for them. This also applies to the providence. I am saying that Heaven's work is remarkable. In other words, the mother of the universe did not suddenly appear after the returning Messiah came. This result comes from establishing indemnity conditions that freed her from Satan's conditions over a long providential course. (2014.06.22, Cheon Jeong Gung)
The lesson we learn through the jeongseong (utmost sincere devotion) of this grandfather Hanjun Jo, is that the jeongseong (sincere devotion) we offer Heaven must be -- must be, must be! -- 100% for Heaven, not even 1% for ourselves. Grandfather Hanjun invested everything he had into building a public bridge, then bought sandals for himself with the 3 remaining coins, so a princess of Heaven was sent instead of a son of Heaven.
We learned from here that, Wow, God wants to accept from us total investment, total sincere devotion, total jeongseong. It does not allow even 1% for ourself; it does not allow the remaining three coins to be used for our own sake. Wow! Heavenly Father requires of us total jeongseong conditions. We learn from True Mother’s story.
It is surprising to say that the standard of whether God sent His only begotten son or His only begotten daughter into that family was the standard of devotion.
That is why I would like to reemphasize the importance of jeongseong.
The Standard Which Determines the History of Salvation Is Jeongseong
<17-22> Centered on what is the history of salvation determined? It is determined centered on the standard of jeongseong. Only when Heaven’s jeongseong surpasses Satan’s jeongseong can societies in the world of death be absorbed into God’s jeongseong. In other words, greater jeongseong can absorb smaller jeongseong. The original mind of humankind desires greater jeongseong.
God’s Jeongseong to Save Fallen Humankind
<17-22> In order to save these people on earth, God needs to invest His heart and soul more than Satan does. If there are people who are loyal to their nations in Satan’s world, God needs to stand in the position which can surpass their loyalties. Otherwise people in Satan’s world cannot be saved. In this manner, throughout history.
True Father is telling us that the standard for the determination of the history of salvation is not strength, money, knowledge, or external abilities, but devotion, jeongseong. How will we save America? The standard to save the United States is not the achievements and abilities of UPF, Family federation, WFWP, and ACLC, but Jeongseong. Therefore, Jeongseong of Morning Devotion is very important in that it is the first step to save America. When we all become one with Jeongseong, God's miracle will happen. There will always be reproduction, and eventually the country will be able to move.
After all, who is the center? It is the one who offers more jeongseong (sincere devotion). True Father is saying that those who offer more sincerity absorb everything.
If your jeongseong is less than mine, I will absorb you. That’s why in order to move … our people, I need to do more jeongseong than anyone else. That’s why Father said the standard, the condition to save your nation is not by power, nor strength. It is your jeongseong conditions.
He said that not even a single soul could be saved by doing it in moderation. True Father is telling us that in saving fallen humans, if God lacks in jeongseong more than Satan, and if he lacks more than any fallen human beings, He cannot save even a single soul.
Who is God? God is the champion of jeongseong. Who is True Father? He is the champion of jeongseong. You see this photo? I want to explain again. He had just come back from the ocean for the whole day. He prepared(?) people going up to their bedroom. And he sat down again and prayed. Look at his face. Who is True Father? Father is a man of jeongseong. Of course, intellectually he is very clever. His emotion is incredible; his will power is very strong. But Father said the most important thing is jeongseong. Only jeongseong and utmost sincerity moves heaven.
Therefore, if our Family Federation offers more jeongseong (devotion) than any other organization in North America and historically more than any religious organization, it will surely lead the way by becoming the center of providence. In that sense, if the morning devotion we do every morning can move Heaven, move the earth, and move the people of this country, it will surely become the central force and lead God’s Providence.
LIVING DIVINE PRINCIPLE: Who Is God?
God is:
• The subject and harmonious union of original internal nature and original external form.
• The harmonious union of original masculinity and original femininity.
• The subject partner having qualities of internal nature and masculinity towards the universe.
11. God is the God of absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience.
12. God is the subject of true love, true life, and true lineage.
13. God is the subject of conscience.
14. God is a God of bitter pain.
15. God is a God of mercy.
16. God is a God of sorrow.
17. God is a being who needs to be liberated.
Recently I have been talking about who God is. Today I would like to speak about “God is the subject of true love, true life, and true lineage.”
12. God Is the Subject of True Love, true Life, and True Lineage
<292-156> If the first human ancestors had centered on God's love and connected to God's lineage, God's family on the world level would have been establish according to God's ideal of creation. You must understand that that family would have been the seed for the nation, the world, the kingdom of heaven on earth, the kingdom of heaven in the spiritual world, and the seed for the fulfillment of all of God's desires.
<292-156> It is important to connect directly to the lineage. Even if there is True Love, it is important to connect to the lineage, the bloodline. So, in order to be in the true blood lineage, your blood must be mixed with True Father and True Mother and you must become one with the True Love that True Father and True Mother have, if you ask who is the center of that True Love, it is not Adam and Eve, but God who is the center. This means God is the root of True Love, True Lineage and True Life.
Individuals cannot be the seed of heaven. We must know that the beginning of the seed of heaven is a family centered on the couple. Propagation of seeds should not be done by one individual. In order to propagate seeds, there must be a pair system. True love cannot be shared alone. Even true life cannot be born alone. The multiplication of true lineage cannot be achieved alone. Therefore, Heaven can never be realized through individual salvation.
If you ask exactly what kind of being God is, He is the subject of true love, true life, and true lineage. There has never been a truth that specifically explained the existence of God. Therefore, in order to inherit God's true love, true life, and true lineage, I must form a pair. Man lost God's true love, true life, and true lineage through the Fall, and came to have false love, false life, and false lineage. The Blessing is for restoring and inheriting this.
Therefore, the blessing means that a couple unites and inherits God's true love, true life, and true lineage. God is not a vague existence.
“Oh Heavenly God, almighty God, omnipotent, all powerful God,” that is very much external understanding. True Parents teach us amazing details.
Love and I are connected, life and I are connected, and lineage and I are connected. That's why we call God our parent. Parents and children are always connected to these three elements which are true love, true life and true lineage.
Then we need to know that. Father here is saying that this means that God is the ruler of true love, true lineage and true life. Wow! God is not just almighty and powerful, whatever he wants he can do. How close is our relationship with God? We connect to God centering on true love, centering on lineage, centering on life. My life came from God; my lineage came from God, my love is from God. Wow! How powerful and beautiful, how much (we are) internally connected together.
Then, where do these three elements, true love, true life, and true lineage, come from? They come from absolute sex.
That is why absolute sex is really, really real. Many people ask whether God has a sexual organ or not. That way human beings resemble God’s lineage. We learn from Unification Thought -- we came from our physical father and mother; no one can deny this, right? We began from our physical parents, right? -- but Adam and Eve came from where? They came from God. We resemble God’s image. God has sungsang and hyungsang. Hyungsang is more form; sungsang is kind of the internal part, even though you cannot see it. God has sungsang and hyungsang. That’s why, even though God is a miserable God, he has that kind of external form and internal part.
Adam and Eve resemble God’s image. God has his organ. Even though we cannot see it, God has his organ. We human beings came from there; our lineage came from there; our life comes from there; our love comes from there. How substantial it is -- not vague at all! Though God is almighty God, all powerful God, he created me, (one may have the) feeling that he only created, that he doesn’t much heartistically connect to my life, my lineage and my love. Father describes who God is: he is the subject of true love, true life, and true lineage. I am so inspired! This is so powerful! God is so connected to me through lineage, through love and through life. It is really incredible how Father describes who God is in such a clear way.
TODAY’S YOUTH MINISTRY: Joseph’s Course - Joseph’s Great Faith
This may be the last part. We have learned (about) the central figures, right? This is real history, real history.
1. The reason Joseph was so great was because he was born on the standard which his mother Rachel cleared her mind of conflict and alienation and purified her heart. A person must first be born well from their mother. Through central figures in the Providence of Restoration, we can know that when a child is born from his mother, his lineage changes depending on how much she liquidated her fallen nature. Figures such as Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph are all children born on the basis of the victory of the history of mother-son cooperation.
I really repent. When I look at my first child, a daughter, and my second one, a boy, and my third one, a boy, even though all of them received the Blessing, sometimes I can see their fallen nature. Then I really repent. What kind of quality of child do I have? What quality of blood lineage? Their fallen nature, their good nature come from where? Not just from the sky. They came -- all kinds of nature -- came from where? They came from me, came from my wife! Can you imagine? When I sometimes see their anger, how come they resemble me? That’s why before having a child, how much do I cultivate my heart, how much have I purified my blood lineage? This is really important, very important. The unity between husband and wife, completely united together, serving each other, respecting each other, then through that kind of relationship (they can) purify their blood lineage. We are talking about Joseph’s mother Rachel. Wow! She really repented a lot, total repentance. She had a complete experience of rebirth, and her blood lineage really changed. And based on that kind of foundation, she had a relationship with Jacob, and Joseph came out from there. That’s why Joseph’s lineage change depended on how much Rachel recreated her fallen nature.
You see Isaac; how much he obeyed! He obeyed his father, Abraham. Jacob had such a beautiful relationship with his mother … and Joseph came out from Rachel. That is why good quality children came from the victory of mother-son cooperation. The mother’s blood lineage is really important, the mother’s blood lineage. When there is a good mother, surely there is a great child, a great child.
That is why I am telling you again and again: what is the husband’s job? How to inspire his wife. If she receives enough love from her husband, then she is the one who inspires our child.
What is the purpose of restoration? I came to understand that the final purpose of restoration is to cultivate my heart, purifying my blood lineage, more than my ancestors (did). Then my blood lineage will really have a filial heart and naturally accept God. (There will be) no need to explain God. (Children) will naturally accept that “He is my God. He is my daddy. He is my parent.” (The children will) naturally love him, have a longing heart for him. This kind of son and daughter need to come from a very good mother. The mother has already cultivated her heart and purified her blood lineage.
2. Once a person is born, it is really difficult to improve the quality of his lineage and raise the standard of his heart through his own efforts.
Once you come out from your mother’s womb, this boy or this girl, nothing can change the blood lineage. I am 64 years old. My heart is not much better than before -- maybe a little bit. My wife is 69 years old. Wow! If Heavenly Mother (were to) allow us to have a child now, maybe we could produce a much better quality child! But my wife is already 59. That’s why parents need to raise their children very well from a young age. Especially mother and son’s cooperation is incredibly important.
Therefore, we do not know how important a couple’s faith is before giving birth to a child. Depending on how much the husband and wife unite and how much they have liquidated their fallen nature, it shows in their children. We can see this from the murder of Abel, committed by Cain, who was born from the conflict between Adam and Eve.
How much struggle there was between Adam and Eve. And what was the result? Cain’s blood lineage was so easily angry and upset. He became so easily angry. Then he used a stone to kill his younger brother, Abel! What kind of quality of blood lineage came from him? We can assume there was so much struggle between Adam and Eve. They had fallen nature, can you image? Since Adam and Eve fell, wow, there was so much struggle and regret and why? Because of Adam and because of Eve and because of the archangel, there was all kinds of struggling and struggling and struggling. Then what was the outcome? Such a Cain! That kind of blood lineage came out. He killed his younger brother. Wow! Fallen nature has killed so many people. It killed my husband, killed my wife, killed my children, killed my Abel. We have this quality of fallen blood lineage.
What is the conclusion of restoration? How to cultivate my heart, how I can change my blood lineage, and how I can have a better child than me.
3. The quality of Joseph’s lineage differed from birth. He was neither troubled by anybody nor hated others, and he was not someone who lived with injustice because of anyone. He was unjustly sold by his brothers, but when he saw that he was recognized as soon as he entered Potiphar's house, Joseph was not double-minded.
How come Joseph had that kind of heart? He stayed(?lived?) very well in prison. He did not hate his brothers? How could he forgive his brothers? He must have a really different quality of blood lineage. His blood lineage came from where? From Rachel. Rachel after struggling and struggling and struggling and struggling had total repentance and changed her blood lineage and purified her blood lineage. She reversed(?) her fallen nature. Based on that foundation of level of heart and relationship with Jacob, what was the outcome? Joseph came from there. This is really incredible.
4. Anyone who puts their own worries and concerns first will not be recognized by others. It is because he is not being faithful to the tasks given to him due to his own worries. Although Joseph had been sold as a slave, his recognition in Potiphar's house did not mean that he hated his brothers or that he missed his hometown so much that his heart was not settled. He was easily recognized by his master because he was so sincere with his given reality.
If Joseph had had a lot of resentment and hate toward his brothers -- “Why did they sell me? How come I came to prison? Why was I left alone?” -- if Joseph had been full of dissatisfaction and complaint toward his brothers, he could not have survived; he would not have been recognized by Potiphar.
But he never thought about these kinds of things. He was not double-minded. He thought, “This is God’s will. There is a meaning (in this). It is my destiny. God gave me this kind of destiny. That’s why I need to put my heart (into this). Centered on the current reality, I need to invest very well. I need to do my utmost best during my daily life. This is my life. This reality is given by God. That is why I don’t want to waste my time. I need to win over here.” How beautiful he was.
5. Everyone becomes unfaithful in real life when they cling to the thoughts of the past. People who do not dwell in the past and focus on reality can be seen as the hopeful and promising people. A person who thinks about what they did in the past and what went well, but now lament or regret about themselves becomes a worthless person.
Those who fail(?) all the time, always think about the past. “Why was my father like that? How come my mother was like that? How come my life is like that?” They accuse this and that and are full of dissatisfaction and complain to their ancestors and complain to their husband. “Because of my husband, my life has become like this.” Then you really waste your time. If you complain and express dissatisfaction and you can gain(?) something and you can’t continue.(?) (If) through that kind of negative thinking, dissatisfaction and complaint, you can gain something, go ahead. However, you lose. You lose everything. Complaint is poison to your spiritual life.
6. Do not become a sinner in the time given to you. The time given to me today is a time for me to be faithful to the current reality and fulfill my responsibility.
When you wake up early in the morning, (say) “God has given me this current day. I need to be faithful to my current time, my current reality. I need to do (give?) all my sincerity.”
If you have regret, dissatisfaction, and fail to settle your heart because of the past, you will waste the time you have now and eventually become a criminal yourself in your given time.
God provides time, why? For you to be faithful and for you to fulfill your portion of responsibility through your given time. That’s why time is very important. Why did God give me time? (He) asks me to be affect(? perfect? effective?), asks me to fulfill my portion of responsibility, asks me to grow up, asks me to become a good man and a good woman in the given time. Wow!
7. Joseph did not resent anyone. While in his mother’s womb, his mother had liquidated her fallen nature, and since he was born from her sanctified heart, Joseph lived without knowing dissatisfaction and complaints. Seeing that Joseph's blood was purified in this way, you should know how much his mother suffered, labored, and paid indemnity. After all, God’s purpose of making us suffer is for us to improve the quality of my lineage. In order to be born again from Satan’s lineage to God’s holy lineage, we must overcome many hardships and sufferings and struggling and conflict.
8. Rachel also had conflicts with her older sister Leah, and as her love for her husband decreased, she suffered for many years. After she truly repented before God after all that suffering, Joseph was the baby she gave birth to. The fact that Joseph forgot his past and remained faithful to the given reality shows that his original nature was truly great.
9. If we, too, suffer certain events or incidents, we can quickly see what kind of person the quality of my blood is. By making me happy, making me sad, and making me suffer I can quickly see what kind of person my blood quality is. Also, I can quickly see how much my parents cleared their fallen nature and gave birth to me. I can also guess the quality of my ancestral lineage.
When we do fundraising, we learn what the quality of our blood lineage is. If when people don’t buy your fundraising items and reject and reject and persecute you, you are very upset and angry and anger comes out from your heart, through fundraising and witnessing and persecution, you can know what quality of blood lineage you have. What kind of quality do you have? Are you easily angry(?), easily upset, easily disappointed, (do you) easily complain? Then what quality of blood lineage do you have? Through that we can know our father and mother’s fallen nature. Through that you understand what kind of ancestors, blood lineage, background and quality they have. If I do not change, my children will just inherit my fallen nature, my quality of blood lineage.
10. Therefore, you must clearly know who you are. If you know the quality and level of your lineage well, you can deal with it without making a mistake. So, you have to constantly train to prepare for it. Suffering and hardship should be welcomed warmly and joyfully. Also know that the quality of your lineage will not improve unless you train yourself to overcome fallen nature in relationships. For this, fundraising training and witnessing training are also necessary.
Why does Father ask us to do fundraising and witnessing and serving people? What is the main reason? He asks us to cultivate our heart. He asks us to improve the quality of our blood lineage. Then we can have good babies, better children, better blood lineage. If I do not change, all my children, all my descendants inherit from me. That’s why any suffering, any persecution, any difficulties -- what is their purpose? God asks me to cultivate my heart, asks me to change my blood lineage and then asks me to produce a really good quality child. Then our heart becomes closer and closer to God. Then finally we become true man and woman, finally become God’s filial sons and daughters, like Isaac, like Jacob, like Joseph.♦
