Today I am preparing to go to Kentucky. They are organizing a beautiful leadership seminar over there. I am so excited to be there.
Today I would like to speak about “Torrential Rain, Tears of Joy” from the contents of True Mother’s memoir.
Our blessed families and missionaries prepared more than 100,000 couples to attend in person, and we expected millions of African nationals and other people around the world to take part via the internet. Mobilization efforts had been successful, with the response overwhelmingly positive. Most of the participants were from Johannesburg, where the FNB Stadium is located, but there also were those who traveled for days to take part. All told, participants came from 54 countries, with the largest international contingents from Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Furthermore, South Africa’s state-run television and radio and other major media throughout Africa prepared for the live broadcast.
But Prophet Radebe and the hosts were nervous as they watched the skies. It had rained for eight days, and Johannesburg has a problem with flooding. On the day of the Blessing, the rain was continuous. At times it lightened up, but then it became heavy again. The roads in and around FNB Stadium were soaked; some areas were flooded. Most people in the government encouraged us to reschedule because they didn’t believe anybody could come. Some 30 percent of the chartered buses realized that they could not reach their assigned pick-up points, and they simply cancelled.
More drama ensued when, as I was about to leave the green room and enter the elevator, the electricity went out. Incredibly, even though the music stopped, the participants continued singing and cheering! Foregoing the elevator, I walked down three stories, determined not to let challenges, large or small, derail the Blessing Festival. When I arrived near the entrance tunnel, Prophet Radebe was waiting with a big, bright smile on his face. I was very pleased to see him and said, “Let’s do our best today!”
He invited me to enter the stadium in an open car. The plan was for me to circle the stadium field, greeting the participants before making my way to the stage. Due to the rain, we adjusted the plan and closed the roof of the car. Even so, as we exited the tunnel onto the field, the crowds broke into a deafening roar. The participants rose, waved and shouted “Mother Moon!” as the vehicle made its way through an honor guard.

Hence, to complete Your providence, You established the True Parents in 1960, and ever since, You have raised Your children through the Blessing that enables fallen people to become Your children.
In Africa in particular, the hope of many prophets, kings and chiefs of many nations has been to usher in the day peace reigns with everyone attending You, Heavenly Parent. Representatives from the 54 nations of Africa have gathered here today to register as Your children, and will be reborn as blessed couples.
Heavenly Parent, how long have You endured and waited? How much have you wanted to love and bless such a day? Your long-cherished desire can now be realized through the blessed families here today.
Please enable them to remember that when they fulfill their responsibilities as blessed families and as tribal messiahs, Africa will no longer be a miserable continent, but will have become a continent that attends You and receives Your blessings.
Heavenly Parent, today You are here with us at this Blessing! Just as today’s weather expresses the tears You shed and the pain You endured throughout history, today also marks the birth of Your children, whom You can joyfully accept. I pray that You may accept every child in joy.

True Mother emphasizes once again that it is only possible (for Africa) to become a continent blessed by heaven when all blessed families fulfill their responsibilities as tribal messiahs. The tribal messiah(ship) is the final responsibility that all mankind shares and must fulfill. Always when True Mother gives a benediction or speech, she continuously talks about the importance of heavenly tribal messiahship. This is the only way we can expand our Cheonil Guk foundation. It is the only way to restore one nation, one sovereignty and one people. That is why we need to think about how we can fulfill our portion of responsibility and how we can help others to fulfill their portion of responsibility as tribal messiahs.
Living Divine Principle: Introduction 7 - New Truth and God’s Revelation
♦ This ultimate life-giving truth, however, cannot be discovered through an exhaustive investigation of scriptures or scholarly texts; nor can it be invented by any human intellect. As is written in the Book of Revelation, "You must again prophesy about many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.“ (Rev. 10:11) This truth must appear as a revelation from God.

Based upon this EDP content let’s study Father’s word. Today I would like to share very important guidance from Father about how he won over Satan and how he declared God’s eternal truth.
I Am the One Who Made God Cry Hundreds of Times
<279-256> “I have overcome the way of death hundreds of times in order to find this path. I am the one who made God cry hundreds of times. Throughout history, no one has ever loved God as much as I have. Therefore, no matter how hard the world tries to dispose of me, I will never perish because God protects me. You can also enter the realm of truth that I teach, and God will protect you. .”
In Order to Find This Path and Get Victory from Satan
1. True Father had to cross the road of death hundreds of times.
2. True Father is the one who made God cry hundreds of times.
> True Father knew God's circumstances and had to cry more than anyone else.
This is incredible. True Father came to realize God’s reality, God’s real situation. He is not a happy God at all; he is a God of sorrow. Since Adam and Eve fell, how much Heavenly Father has shed tears in order to restore his own children. When True Father realized this point, he had non-stop tears continuously.
> No one can know God without tears.
That’s why in the beginning many people said of our church, “The Unification Church is the crying church.” Anyone who came to join the Sunday Service or the Wednesday evening service or any workshop just cried and cried and cried and cried because Father was the one who led the congregation in such a way. He was the one who deeply understood God’s sorrowful heart. That is why when I see True Father’s lifestyle...
> My wish is to weep for God like True Father. I envy the way that True Father constantly sheds tears for God. I want to become such a filial son like True Father.
When can I have that kind of experience of reunion between God and myself? The more I understand the Divine Principle, the more I study God’s word, (the more) I deeply respect how our True Father discovered God’s inner situation. This is really amazing. In order to find this path and gain victory from Satan...
3. Throughout history, True Father had to love God more than anyone else.
> No one loved God more than True Father.
He can say that proudly. No one discovered God’s reality.
> Therefore, when we love God more like True Parents, we can take charge of the area we are responsible for.
> That is why we must love this America more than any political, religious, or philosopher of the past. Except for True Parents, we must set a new record in loving this country.
Our Father’s guidance is very powerful. He is the one who introduced that God is a God of sorrow.
What Must Someone Do in Order to Become the Lord at the Second Advent?
<236-323> “What must someone do in order to become the Lord at the Second Advent? You need to go to the spirit world, reveal the principles concerning the relationships of all religions centering on Jesus, clarify everything about heaven and earth and their laws, and receive the approval of the spirit world. And then you have to proclaim these things on earth. This is something that has not been known even in the spirit world. Only God and Satan knew of this.
A Time of Chaos Came About for Forty Days
<236-323> “After I had proclaimed all these things in the spirit world, strong opposition arose there. In that world, a time of chaos came about for forty days. Satan resisted by setting the condition of denying God. As a result, the spirit world was divided in half, with one half against me. In the end, this chaotic situation had to be resolved based on what God decided to be true. That is why the True Parent brings the spirit world into complete submission, receives God’s seal of approval and comes down to the earth.”
What Must Someone Do in Order to Become the Lord at the Second Advent?
1. You need to go to the spirit world, reveal the principle concerning the relationships of all religions centering on Jesus, and finally obtain approval from the spirit world.
2. When you first declare the content of the Principle to the spirit world, opposition from the whole spirit world occurs.
> This is because only God and Satan knew this secret.
Before True Father came to the earth, no one knew this top secret. Only God and Satan knew this secret. True Father was the one who declared this top secret for the first time centered on the universal truth.
3. If the contents of the principle are proclaimed, there will be 40 days of great confusion in the spirit world.
A long time ago I met an important religious leader in Korea. He was very active, one of the top religious leaders. He shared about the 40 days of confusion in the spiritual world. He has already passed away. He had an experience of those 40 days of great confusion in the spiritual world a long time ago. I think that was the moment our True Father declared the Divine Principle. The entire spiritual world became chaotic: what was right, what was wrong.
4. When the Principle was first proclaimed in the spirit world, half of the spirit world opposed it.
5. In the end, God must make the final conclusion as a judge.
6. God finally declared that the Principle revealed by True Father is the eternal truth.
Satan’s side said, “No. Wrong! Wrong!” Half of the spiritual world denied God, (even) denied the existence of God. Half of the population of the spiritual world accepted what Father was talking about. That is why there was division and chaos. Then God finally declared, (speaking) as a judge. Even God in the beginning denied what Father proclaimed, but Father patiently and logically talked to God. God is a God of the Principle. Even God completely surrendered before the universal truth. It is amazing! Finally Heavenly Father, in front of all the spiritual world including Jesus, Mohammed and all the saints and sages, declared, “The Divine Principle is the eternal truth.” This is amazing that Heavenly Father proclaimed that the Divine Principle is the eternal truth.
7. In this way, the proclamation of the word of the Principle begins on Earth after receiving God’s royal seal (seal of approval).
Father said without recognition from Satan and all the saints and sages, he could not have revealed God’s secret on the earth. That is why, first of all, he had to win over their hearts and minds. It is not just about proclaiming. Father needed to meet each spirit, each major philosopher, and talk with them, discuss and ask them a lot of questions. When they had no answer, Father provided answers and completely convinced all the saints and sages. Even Satan could not run away because True Father showed proof. Even God denied it in the beginning. But God is a God of Principle, so in front of Father’s declaration he had no choice. He needed to accept, declare and recognize that the Divine Principle is the eternal truth. Amazing!
The Divine Principle is not a simple matter; it is the eternal truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, the life.” Father is the messiah. He is the only one to show the way, the truth, life and blood lineage and love. Wow! God is working through the messiah. There are not two messiahs, three messiahs. Throughout human history we know that God is working through one central figure. Adam’s family was centering on Adam; in Noah’s time it was centering on Noah; in Abraham’s time it was centering on Abraham; then Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and Moses. God works through central figures. God did not choose the Messiah (... indecipherable) This is very important because Adam and Eve represented the whole universe. God did not create Adam alone; God did not create Eve alone. Also, God did not create two Adams or two Eves. Human history started from one Adam and one Eve, one man, one woman system. That is why God’s providence started from one couple, one heavenly couple. That is True Parents. We need to know this point.
Today’s Youth Ministry: Symbolic Separation and Substantial Separation
This is also very important content: how to apply (the Divine Principle) to our daily life.
1. Symbolic separation means separation of thoughts or spiritual separation. However, if this symbolic separation is not achieved, the aftermath will affect the reality. Therefore, it is necessary to lead a life of spiritual separation on a daily basis. If spiritual separation, that is, mental separation, is not done well, Satan enters between the couple or through one's own Cain. This is the absolute formula.
That is why symbolic separation is not only just symbolic separation. It directly relates to substantial separation.
2. Even though God showed you well through dreams, if you ignore it without taking it seriously, you will be tested in reality.
That is why whenever you have a dream, God has already shown (you) something symbolically. That is why if you do not think seriously about your dreams, (about what) God has already shown you (through the dream), then surely you will fail when you are dealing with reality. That is why whenever God shows you a dream, this is a symbolic condition that you need to think about. “What’s wrong with me? What is the problem? A mental problem? Is my thinking wrong? Are my habits a problem?” You need to think about it, seriously think about it. “I don’t want to repeat this problem again.” That is why when God shows us a dream, interpretation is very, very important. What does dreaming mean? It is a symbolic condition. If you do not understand the meaning of the dream, surely you will fail substantially. You will not be able to have substantial separation.
3. In the case of Abraham’s family, they were completely torn apart because of the mistake in making the symbolic offering. A situation happened where Abraham gave his wife to a foreign king. Because he gave the symbolic offering wrongly, it resulted in giving away even his cherished wife before Satan.
4. Just like this, if you give the wrong symbolic offering, you will lose what you value. People who think money is precious will lose money, and if they value their son the most, their son will die. The order of Satan's invasion is to hit the material first, then hit the closest person. When Abraham failed to offer the sacrifice, he had to sacrifice Isaac, whom he loved.
That is why Abraham’s symbolic offering was connected to his only son, Isaac. Can you imagine that. That is why we always need to separate when wrong thinking comes to us. Good and evil, what the evil mind is and the good mind. You need to separate.
When God shows you a dream, you need to think about it. “What does it mean? Why did this kind of dream come to me?” You need to think about it. God is always raising each human being through dreams. Some intellectual guys seldom have dreams, but if your life of faith is very serious and more internal, God always shows dreams.
For example, wherever I go -- I may just sleep there one night -- God shows (me) what kind of place it is, the standard of the spirituality and environment. I already feel something through my dreams. That is why we always have to be sensitive to how God is really helping us and guiding us through symbolic separation. If we do not do symbolic separation properly, it directly connects to substantial separation.
5. At first, we go out joyfully centered on the Will, but when we face financial difficulties in life, our attachment to material things becomes stronger than our faith, and then the standard for the Will is lowered. Then our work is invaded. Still if you do not realize this, your wife or children will pay indemnity instead and will be in trouble.
6. The most precious thing to Abraham was not money, but the relationship between husband and wife. So, when Abraham made a mistake in offering the sacrifice, he was put to the test of separating the couple. In this way, Satan strikes what the person considers most important.
7. In this way, if the standard of the Will is lowered or the Will is hindered by loving property, one's own children, or one's wife more than the Will, the person will be invaded centered on the things they love. Therefore, loving something more than the Will will result in loving Satan more, and you will be invaded by self-demonstrating that it belongs to Satan.
Very important. God has a plan. God has a blueprint. However, we do not follow God’s will. Since you came to understand the Divine Principle, you understand the importance of your life of faith. However, if you love money more than God, someday because of money, because of material, surely you will be tested. If you love your own family more than God, someday you will be tested. If you love sex more than God, someday you will be in trouble because of that. That is why symbolic separation is very important. That is why you need to deny (yourself). If you love something more than God, surely you will have trouble on the way. Maybe for the time being you can get money and you have success(?), your financial situation may be improving. However, on the way without exception if you love money more than God, someday you will decline because of money. If you love your wife more than God and more than True Parents, then someday you will have trouble because of your wife. Therefore, what is the life of faith? We need to put God first. I saw many friends and brothers and sisters ultimately leave the church because of financial difficulties and lost their foundation(?) because of this and that, finally they lost their faith.
How do we overcome in our life of faith. When Abraham lost his symbolic separation, he needed to offer his son, Isaac. He needed to give his wife to a foreign king. Can you imagine this? My conclusion is very clear. Our True Parents’ guidance is very clear. If I love something more than God, surely I will have some problems and trials. You can get pest(?passed?). Wow! This is not a simple matter. True Father showed us the way. He loved God more than anything else.
Song jin nim, True Father’s first child from his first wife -- they had just delivered a baby. But there was no rice, so he left home to get some rice. On the way he received a revelation from heaven: “Immediately you need to go to North Korea.” Can you imagine this? He could not (even) explain (this) to his wife. Without knowing True Parents in that kind of situation, how much his first wife would have strong resentment. When I look at Father’s life, always he put God as a top priority. Even our True Mother.
If we put money above heavenly parent, someday we will decline because of it. If we love our own family more than God, someday we will have trouble because of our own family. This is vertical alignment. We need to love God. If we have that kind of vertical alignment, vertical standard, then based on that foundation, we can love our neighbors, we can love materials, we can love anything else. Our life of faith is not simple.
8. As you follow the Will of heaven, you must know that God is more important than your parents, more important than your children, and more important than material things.
Very important. Why did Adam and Eve lose? Because they put their own idea above that of God. Once we lose vertical alignment, we will lose everything. You cannot overcome any trials. The greatest commandment is that we need to love God more than anything else, more than money, more than materials, more than sex, more than our own hobby, more than anything else. Otherwise, we will belong to Satan.
Satan always puts himself first. Right? Me, me, me, me, me. My own idea, my own thinking, my own material, my own family, my own materials, my own situation. That is the way of Satan.
Jesus clearly taught us in the greatest commandment, “Love God more than anything else.” If we do that, automatically we can love our neighbors, automatically we can love our wife and husband and children and brothers and sisters, our nation, our tribe. That is why we need to have a clear order about what we should put first. This is very important. That is why when there are symbolic separations, when we have properly done the symbolic separation, surely we can win. However, if we lose the symbolic separation, we cannot win in reality. You cannot substantially separate. We learned from Abraham’s family. Very, very important guidance.
